Even though Kate supposedly kept her nursing license up to date, she might have trouble finding work as a nurse since she has no recent experience (sending the not-a-nanny to the urgent care center with a child doesn't count). She would, however, be perfect at an insurance company. She could be one of the nurses who reads the claims and then denies coverage. She is *very* experienced at saying NO.
Another possibility would be lunchroom monitor at a school. She could make sure that all the kids eat their lunch items in the right order. She could also check brown paper bags for things kids try to throw away. Can't you just see her checking the milk cartons to see if they are full of peas?
All nice jobs for Kate...BUT she will never ever get a real job again...It will be so interesting to see what she does when faced in the future with losing her house or getting a "mediocre" job...She has just grown her ego so big, I don't know how she could choose to come back and be one of the "little" people again...(Even though we all know she has been among the SMALLEST of people for a long long time)...
I know this is suppose to be about kate, but I thought a great job for Jon would be one of those really nice food trucks that are so popular these days.
He could do Korean food and he would make good money.
kate could have a truck too and she could sell the raw bbq chicken, big salads and flag cake.
Oh, and one slice of pizza for that special man in your life.
How about being a drill sergeant in the Army? She's had plenty of experience yelling at people. Oh wait, she doesn't like to get dirty and the outfit wouldn't go with her accessories....
Kate Gosselin - USPS Post Delivery: she claims to enjoy running outdoors so this is perfect, the mail would be delivered in record time and she could outrun any dog who likes to give chase. Everyone knows she loves how organized she is, and she's always got a pile of bills in her purse, so here's a chance to carry a giant satchel of them! Kate can deliver bad news, junk mail, coupon flyers, inspirationals, fan mail, love letters, past due statements, cheques, parcel pickup forms, etc. And she can drive the big post van and park wherever she likes with the 4-ways on. She's had plenty of experience with getting mail and driving large vans, probably more so than with nursing or any other relevant career, in the past 8 years. I'd say she's qualified. Everyone knows the postie, so she'll have her fame, and when she finally goes over the edge, it can be truly stated that she's "gone postal"!
Sorry, this was too fun to resist. Hopefully I haven't offended any mail carriers by suggesting this as a career for Kate!
Mail carrier sounds like a winner to me...And she wouldn't have to work nights, so she would be home to take care of the kids...if she wanted to, anyway...Of course, the pay would be way substandard to what she THINKS she's worth, but I bet in a couple of years, she may be HAPPY to have this job...:)

The inequity of assets, IMHO, thought Jon may've put his

I couldn't agree more. As Kate has said in the past, "we can never go back". Kate has had her fame, and now she will never settle for anything 'less'. She complains she's got to have a job to support 8 kids...
I know a few single moms, not with 8 kids, but 3 & 4 and they have 'regular' jobs (meaning don't make a boatload of money)-they also don't live in a mini-manse, buy their kids monogrammed backpacks at L.L. Bean, and buy shoes on every outing. Kate will not admit, or even acknowledge this, so she will stoop to humiliating her kids for some dating show, just to bring back the cashflow she needs to buy a few more pairs of shoes and tanning sessions.
It's my opinion that living in such an expensive house, sending kids to private schools completely cancels out K8G's incessant whining about being a 'single mom supporting 8 kids'. Her life is and has been a cakewalk compared to many.
She gets ZERO sympathy (or respect) from me.
Maybe she should try real estate -
commission only - would test her
ambitions.
Perhaps she could be a chef and get a job on HGTV...or maybe work in the morgue...that way no one would have to listen to her whiny voice.

I think health inspectors can be obnoxious and I think Kate would be really good at criticizing establishments and throwing around some authority.

She most likely does have money coming in if she was smart with investing it. it. Right now she's probably living off the interest, but eventually she'll have to dip into the principal because the interest isn't going to be enough to cover all of her expenses.

Morning Glory...I don't think Kate was that smart...I mean, it's possible she had smart people working with her money, but as has been mentioned before..She most likely had to give up half the assets in the divorce..we know she bought Jons part of the house, so I'm not sure she has that much money...She made a lot of money for only a short time and we have seen her spending it like water when it's for HERSELF...granted she doesn't seem to spend much on the children, which is the absolute most ironic thing ever...We know she has a mortgage, so even that's not fully an asset and who knows how much equity she has in it...It's not worth near what they paid for it...I can see her going broke in the not too distant future if she doesn't get a job of some sort:)And I'm not even talking TV Big Bucks job either..I'm talking about getting a REAL job that she is qualified to do like nursing or McDonalds...

She's writing it on her iPhone. It's a cookbook (?) with pictures of the kids. There is no publisher as of yet. Given the last books were flops and ended up in the dollar store, I can't imagine that anyone, other than the die-hard sheeple, would buy it.

She refinanced and the amount of the mortgage and equity is available online. She took out $200,000 at the refinancing.
She's fine for now. Otherwise, she wouldn't have the funds to send her children to private school or live like she does. Jon mentioned at one time she had eleven bank accounts. I don't doubt for one minute that she doesn't have a financial adviser. However, her investments will not generate enough for her to meet her monthly expenses, and eventually she will have to use some of the principal.
Don't forget that according to the DOL, she may use the kids' money for their health, education and welfare. In addition, all of the freebies she gets frees up that money so she can use it for other purposes.

I was just looking at an American Girl catalog. I wonder if Katie does not want the dolls so much but thinking she can get her girls to model holding the American girl dollls. Just saw they now have boy dolls. There you go. But kate would not let her boys play with dolls. I wonder does she know these dolls are not made in America?
Kate seems incapable of concentrating on anything for very long. She never had to. TLC did everything for her. Her web site is going down hill. She never does anything with Shoka's column. No one writes to Dear Abby for answers on raising kids.

Her twitter while she tries to contact Donald Trump, who wrote back with an ad of the estate he use to spend Winters on and now he owns it, but no msg to Katie. She constantly writes to people from the old DWTS and no one responds. She is alone a lot and she went back to sleep the first day of school and didn't drive them to the bus stop but the not a nanny did. Get up, take a photo,kids happy as can be, then back to bed. What a life when you don't work.
Hey can you collect unemployment when your show ends? Maybe Kate is on unemployement? Just mad money for getting her hair done in NY is what she uses it for.

Yeah, but we don't know what she used it for even if we know she took it out..Right? She may have used it to pay off credit cards or to pay another debt she owed..So just because she got cash back isn't an indicator she's in good financial shape or that she even HAS that money she got back...I mean,body guards (most of them anyway) and hair and wardrobe people and PR people and all of those heavy duty "advisors" that the "rich and famous" like Kate and Brad and Angie use don't come cheap!And one can only imagine how much it costs to maintain the grounds on her "mine all mine" mini mansion...If you think she is living off of interest, there is just no way...Interest rates are way too low for that and I KNOW she couldn't possibly have enough money in the bank to earn the kind of interest she would need for the lifestyle she leads with "just" interest income...or even mostly interest income...And if she invested it(another option), she could have easily lost much of it...I just think she is a sitting time bomb financially and she is going to explode out of sheer pride because she thinks she is too good to get a regular "non celebrity" job like she really needs right about now "for the kids sake"(as she always puts it...)Oh well, it will be interesting NO DOUBT to sit back and watch how this all plays out...Listening to her lately, she still sounds delusional how she is going to get all of these TV shows, etc...Meanwhile, with each and every passing day, her "brand" value is dropping drastically...so I just don't see HOW she thinks all of this is going to happen...She really needs to see a mental health professional.."for the sake of the kids"...:)
Hmm...I don't know how getting unemployment works for "stars"...I mean, can Brad and Angie get unemployment in between movies?LOL..I'm betting she can NOT get unemployment, because she wasn't fired...Her show was simply cancelled or not renewed or however they did it...And she wouldn't attempt to get unemployment if she was eligible to anyway because you have to be LOOKING for work in order to draw it..She would have to be actively applying for jobs and I don't think "I want my own talk show" cuts it...you know???LOL
I don't think she is spending money like water. She packed food for a week and went to Ala by driving that BBB and friends go along to help with the kids. She does go to NY for a hair appt, but I think that isn't as expensive as we think, it might be a pity hair coloring. But I don't think we have seen her driving around with too many shopping bags or staying overnight in NY, have we? Think she said something on her twitter about exchanging uniforms with other mothers, buying sneakers by way of BOGO at Payless but raged about the cost of school supplies. We do not know if the dog is still there.
As for the not a nanny, I think that woman lives with her, don't know but think she is there 24/7 for some reason or something Jon said when they first split up, not sure. On her twitter, she has a photo of her new big old Deli slicer and if you look closely, you can see the not a nanny in the background. Someone probably sent her that slicer which I have no idea why she would need that big deli slicer but if it is free, I think, cause why would she buy it? We know she has enough toilet paper for 2 weeks and she gets cupcakes from the DC place monthly, so I don't think she is overly feeding anyone, she doesn't eat. No limo travel that we have known of, right? Not lately or for the past almost year I think. Plus who knows if she had to give Jon any money in the marital distribution. Jon may have thought he was going to have some big career on his own and by passed all of that. Neither one were too bright in destroying their brand. Oh well, tiring to think of her and him.
I think Kate has bypassed the big time reps too. She is more concerned with paying lawyers to keep that gosslinbook off the printing presses. She ages daily.
Ok...so you guys are probably right about her not spending money...It's easy to save YOURS when you are spending everyone ELSES..lol..But it is NOT free to maintain all that acreage and house...I could easily spend $100 a month on maintaining my little acre!! And if you notice, her lawn is always well kept with flowers and everything green and nicely trimmed..Maybe some poor soul volunteers to do that for her...Is her school free? I had ONE kid in private school...Assuming tuition is a reasonable $8000 a year per kid, that comes to a paltry $64,000 a year...NOT chump change there...And if she has to BUY any clothes, I'd say even a cheap $1000 per child of new clothes a year at a minimum is another $8,000 a year(they can't wear a uniform 24/7)..As for sports or dance or music activities,make that another cheap $100 a month each child(it's probably lots more)and there's another $10,000 a year...Wow...and yet she can afford several vehicles including a 2 seater sports car...She does have PAID help whether it's admitted to or not....And SHE goes plenty of places on her own...Maybe those trip are free..I don't know, but all you have to do is figure out how much it takes anyone to live a normal life and go from there...With her mortgage on top of everything else, I don't know how she spends less than $200,000 a year to maintain the life they appear to have...She must have an awful lot saved up if she has the luxery of waiting around the next 50 years for a TV job to "show up"...If she was really worried about money, she would be selling that house and getting a job yesterday...so all that "poor talk" is just that...talk...BUT if she is stupid enough NOT to have plenty of money saved and she is not looking for a real job, the walls will be crashing down in the future and it's going to be bad..So $200,000 for the next 12 years is about 2 1/2 million dollars??So does she have it or not?

You'd be way off in your estimate. It's much more than that, try doubling it, and it continues to go up as they advance in grade levels.

The car has two rear seats with seat belts - not a comfortable fit. She needs to get rid of that car. There's no reason for it.

Some locals figured out that she needs $350,000 a year to maintain her present lifestyle. When I did some figuring, that's just about right on the money.
If she had a financial adviser who invested her reported net worth of five million, then yes, it would generate enough interest per year to cover much of her expenses, but not nearly enough to finance her current lifestyle.

I don't see how Kate has a net worth of $5M or ever had that. I'm willing to bet she's living on principal already. If she had $5M no way she'd have refinanced the house to take out money. It would have been a foolish move.
According to therichest.org, we are WAY off about Kate's finances...They list her net worth as $200,000.00.That's TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND dollars...Hmmm...guess she better be downsizing yesterday..lol..I don't know how they come up with these numbers, but looked up some others for fun and they were right where I would have expected them to be, so I guess Ole Kate blew through the whole mess of cash she made...Better be dusting off that nursing certificate...should be good for $80,000 or so if you are willing to work lots of hours:)

The article that has her net worth at 200 thousand is an OLD article. It references a "new" cookbook in the works, "Love Is In The Mix." That book was shelved in 2009.

No I can't. Sorry. Another source had her net worth listed at five million not long ago. If it were only $200,000 back when that estimate was given, she'd be flat broke now, considering that in the past two years, tuition alone was more than that, and the kids are still in school. One-half isn't going to the IRS -- you usually figure to knock off one-third for taxes. She has it put away somewhere.

Most of the estimates have no more foundation than your normal WAG. I put no faith in any of them. They had Jon and Kate with millions when it was known that they hadn't earned a third of the amount.
Re tutions for a private school.
My one son sends his two boys to a private school in the Pittsburg area...One is in second grade, the other is in kindergarten..
cost for first child is $18,000, he get a discount for the second which is $13,000.

Each private school has its own policy regarding discounts if more than one child is enrolled. Nobody can say for sure if they get a discount or if they don't. Some schools are very strict in the no discount policy, even in the case of multiples.
