Hey TLC: under way, used this way, is two words.

Haven't we seen this before. The kids have crooked houses, why do they need a tree house? We have also seen the prepare for chickens before. TLC has truly run out of ideas, no wonder they are canceling.

Sounds like yet another yawner.

So glad I don't watch.

My thoughts exactly.

And what if they have to sell the house and move? They won't be able to take the treehouse or new pool slide with them. Kate obviously doesn't think before she spends.

This must be what Kate referred to on twitter that she did something while filming at home that they don't normally do. She acted like it was a big deal. Boring.

cho boco said...

Honestly... I saw the commercial for this and I'm actually looking forward to seeing the episode.

The ad features a complete Kate breakdown, to the point where the nanny is saying on camera "I love those kids but I can't stand to be around that woman another minute".

The entertainment value (of the trainwreck style, of course) could be high... and it'll be interesting to see just how negatively TLC will let her be portrayed. She's had her share of angry, over-controlling moments but they never go too far.

I'll probably regret some of these words if the kids are right there to see the whole thing happen and break down in tears though, I'm hoping it's a "backstage" argument not involving the kids directly.

The ad is not for the treehouse and chicks episode - it is for the RV trip episode. The promo says "Tempers flare, Relationships tested, Kate's world will never be the same." Ashley, the babysitter, says "I can't spend one more minute with her. We don't know who HER is - it could be Jamie.

I KNEW the Kate Has A Breakdown episode would bring in viewers. So did TLC. It will be the highest rated show this season. Strange what people find entertaining........

Once again, yawn. I think I have to give the dog a bath that night.

More trying to make Kate appear to be a hardworking and caring mom; more of the kids receiving animals that probably won't be around past the taping of the show.

Whoever said no wonder it's being cancelled is right. There is just nowhere left to go on this show.

I think the show about the rv trip and the parting of the ways (for somebody) is probably about Jamie and Ashley not getting along, not Kate and Ashley. The preview tries to make us think it's about Kate and Ashley because they are trying to lure viewers in. Who really cares if Jamie and Ashley have a parting of the ways? Yet if it were really Kate and her nanny, people who watch for the sheer drama would tune in. I guess they filmed the preview before they decided to cancel the show.

It doesn't really matter anymore, does it?

Thank God this boring tripe is almost over.

Someone please tell me she did not say, "AVIATION flu".

Please.

She makes me embarrassed to be an RN.

She and these lame-brain, TLC-planned-&-paid-for scenarios (treehouse builds and pet chickens) that SHE supposedly dreamed up 'for the kids' are such a joke.

Except that jokes are usually at least a little entertaining. Kate Gosselin is not.

Skipping thru the channels and caught this in the ad. Had to watch the next segment just to make sure my ears were not lying to me. Apparently this is what you get from touching chickens too much. I always thought that was what the paper bag was for on the seat-back in front of you on the plane.
There is a god and in 3 more weeks her Kate-isms will be history.

LOL!

Kate Gosselin may sit in PA, worrying about AVIATION flu, but here in Ohio, we're suffering an epidemic of kAte-VIAN flu, now that TLC is poisoning us all with unrelenting promo's for the final pathetic episodes of K+8.

I'd rather take my chances with the chickens than spend one more 1/2 hour with the likes of Kate Gosselin.

Did anyone else make the connection of the crooked house and the tree house?!?!?! In a past episode (when it was Jon & Kate)Kate CHEWED...!!!CHEWED!!!Jon's butt out because she didn't want the crooked house down in the woods because it wasn't safe for the kids! But it's okay for her to build a treehouse down there now. RRRrrright! HHHmmm...trying to 'right the MANY wrongs in your TV-lie-land' Kate...

Rainbow68 said...

Didn't watch Kate last night, but yes, I did make the treehouse-crooked house connection. When I first checked the listings, I thought it was a rerun - we've seen new little houses, we've seen new chickens. Watched "Hoarders" instead.

jonandkatewho? said...

I just saw this last night. I was not going to watch but for some reason, since I had nothing else to do, I sat down and watched it. I didn't fall asleep but I almost did. I have the same kind of reaction to the Duggars show and this one.

But my, was it boring! Cupcakes, big deal. Kate pretending to be nice about cupcakes to try to wipe away the memories we all have of her ruining everybody's time over cupcakes in the past. Ho-hum!

Chicks. Ho-hum. Bo-ring! Kate building a gate. Whoopee. You know somebody taught her how to do it beforehand, and she probably cursed the whole time. Big deal.

The kids, on the couch interviews. Bo-ring! I don't know quite what the problem is, but I couldn't understand most of what they said. Summer games with Ashley. Tedious as hell. Oh wait, I'm mixing up two shows. They actually reran the cupcake epi after the chicks epi. My bad. You just can't tell because it's one boring thing after the other.

Yes, I can clearly see why this show has been cancelled. Finally!

I wish Kate would leave poor Mady alone, and not encourage her in any showbiz aspirations she may have. I always thought Mady was cool, but let her be a normal kid, because she doesn't have the training to be on Disney or do anything in show biz. I don't think she has that "it" factor, either. Kate will only hurt her by encouraging her to try to be on television. I don't think the poor child has what it takes. I don't really care if Kate makes a damn fool of herself trying to be a star, but don't do it to Mady.

Mel said...

Yeah, I caught that too, that it's ok for her to have the tree house down there, but not ok for the crooked houses.

In her defense, the kids were 2 years younger then, and certainly should NOT have been allowed to play alone that far away.

However, I think it's STILL too far away to let the kids play alone down there, given the safety issues she seems to be soooo concerned about.

Wonder if PurseBoy has to accompany them when they play down there?

UGH!!!!! said...

So she just HAPPENS to suddenly decide to build a fence... and HAPPENS to have all the materials, pre-cut to size on-hand... and she just MAKES it ALL BY HERSELF. Really? SHE thought of the corner reinforcements? SHE measured the angles perfectly to fit as snug as they did? SHE cut those ALL BY HERSELF? So hard being a single mom, having to deal with 8 children just for a trip to the hardware store to get materials, tools, and services. Oh... wait.

What phoney fake setups. TLC really thinks the audience is brainless. I'll grant that WAS nice to finally see her dressed for the job though.

MMMMom said...

I have also wondered if the dispute might be between Jamie and Ashley. But Kate has gone through so many people that it's hard to think she is not involved. I hated the episode where she talked about not trusting her brother. If only people knew what really happened.

That is an episode I would love to see! No Kate! Just all the people she has used and abused through the years. An episode about Beth--Where is she now? What is going on in her life? What really happened between her and Kate? An episode about Kevin and Jodi--How are they doing? How are the kids? What really happened between them and Kate? I wish even Jon would have a chance to speak honestly about the situation. I'm sure there are others that Kate has used and discarded these past seven years, but these are the ones who come to mind.

If TLC wants ratings, I think something like that might draw in some viewers. I would love to see the truth come out. What do you think?

Mary said...

Ohh PLEASE does TLC think people who watch this dribble think we all are stupid. Did you see try and use the hammer. Remember she had Jamie's help. There is no way she made that door. I have help on many woodworking projects for my house. There is No way I know how to make a door. I love how all the wood was pre cut. then she put it all on the floor and nailed it with a hammer. And she did not even break a fingernail or two. How did she know how to make it. then she prings it down to men making tree house to be cut. To no one surprise the make a perfect cut.
Kate where did you get the measuring tape? just had it handy huh. Also where did toy get all the wood precut to spec's to fit the door frame. Did you make a door frame? I not sure but did we actully see the door? Sorry Kate I don't believe in Santa, Easter Bunny, TLC or YOU. Now if the episode had the boys or girls making the door I believe that with the help of a adult

----------------------

I agree. While all of the children have nice features and are cute or attractive in their own unique way -- none of them appear to have the range and depth of talent that would be required to even get their foot in the door at Disney. It seems to me that when Disney is grooming a young star, they want a child who can act, sing, dance and be generally appealing and non-threatening to a wide audience.

Sadly for Mady, she has (with the help of her toxic mother) been shown too often on the show as "bratty." So that would probably automatically disqualify her from any Disney parts. They would prefer someone who doesn't come with baggage. Secondly, I haven't seen any evidence that Mady has a good singing voice, that she can dance, or that she can act. Sorry Kate, but you won't be getting any return calls from Disney casting.

As to the younger six children - as others have commented, some seem to have problems speaking clearly, even at 7 years of age. That would knock them out of contention in auditions. They are all cute, but it takes much more than a cute smile to get in the door as a child actor.

Finally - let's say one or more of the children actually did get a Hollywood agent and landed an acting gig. Kate would ruin it by trying to control the entire process and horn in somehow.

Ugh, hadn't considered the idea of Kate pushing the kids into auditioning for acting jobs. Honestly though - I don't think it's Kate's priority... she wants her children out of the spotlight, but herself squarely in it. She would never consider it until her own TV career is completely dead and buried.

Agreed that Mady is the most likely candidate if Kate did try it, and agreed that Mady's not a good fit for it. If any of them could succeed at it, it might be Alexis... but let's just hope Kate hogs whatever attention is remaining and keeps it away from the kids, so they can grow up normally.

Kate Gosselin Can’t Afford Her Babysitter Anymore?

We know things are bit rough for the Gosselin’s now that ‘Kate Plus 8′ was given the boot, but is Kate really strapped for cash?
Kate Gosselin is doing it all … alone. The mom-of-eight took to her Twitter Aug. 23 to tell her “tweeties” that she doesn’t have a babysitter again today. That’s rather unusual, especially since it’s summer and all eight kids are home.

“Well, I overslept so no am run4me! Trdmill run later… Huge list&no babysitter agn 2day so will be busy! Will tweet ya later-off 2make bfast!”

Kate definitely sounds tired. She’s been preparing the kids for the school year by taking them back-to-school shopping and getting them haircuts. We hope Kate can figure out a way to feed those eight mouths because we know she has no interest in going back to a 9-5 job like her ex-husband Jon Gosselin.

Are you worried for Kate and the kids?

Shoka's Understudy said...

kate kept beefing about how the chicken coop needed to be cleaned out. Well, she was right on that!

She said, it had been such a long time since it was cleaned out. I wonder if the last time was before the Kentucky Derby?

Bushel after Bushel of Chicken Poop was hauled 10 feet from the Chicken Coop by kate and dumped right next to the house or the barn. Why didn't they put it in the wheelbarrow and take it and dump it in the woods?

I felt so bad for the kids, trying to shovel that rot gut out with no gloves or masks. Mady walked away, choked up and looked like she was about to gag.

kate just does not have any common sense. Period.

Thought it was strange when the treehouse was built that kate stood there and said she would come down here to get away.

I think instead of getting that tree house for free, she should of sold the crooked houses and paid for the tree house herself.

I just hope that the kids don't fall out of it, it is very high off the ground.

Shoka's Understudy said...

Don't you find it strange that kate isn't pushing Cara with Mady to get a Disney gig?

Cara doesn't want to be on camera anymore.

If Mady truly wanted to try to get on Disney, it should be Jon to be in control of the situation, not kate.

IMO, kate is canceled on TLC so now the 2nd generation comes into play. She will still take Mady's money from her when she gets paid by Disney, she has to keep up her lavish lifestyle.

Jon could handle Mady's situation a lot better than kate.

The same thought occurred to me, that, when Jon wanted the crooked houses to be built in the woods, Kate, of course, jumped all over him and DEMANDED they be built somewhere (anywhere) different than Jon's choice.

Fast forward to the treehouse script and here she is telling the treehouse crew to pick any location, any tree they want.

Too bad she was never that kind and easy going with her own hubs. He always got the brunt of her relentless bad mood.

*********************************

I've always found it disconcerting that, while, on one hand, K8G blathers on and on about what a devoted mother she is and how much she loves her children, yet every season contains one constant refrain, and that is she is always wanting/needing to get away from the kids (even for her Mother's Day b'fast in bed, it was, "JON! Rescue me!" (from the kids).

And, amazingly, she has always considered herself SO, SO DESERVING of these constant leaves of absence.

How the H much is there to escape for a woman making the TLC $ K8G has, taking TLC-funded trips 'hither and yon', living in an acred estate, with nannies and house/landscape crews at her disposal?

Give me a break. This woman has lost all touch with the REALITY most single moms face on a daily basis.

Her need to 'escape' is insulting to women who have actual problems, financial and otherwise, in their truly busy lives.

We had chickens when I was growing up, and I can still recall the times my dad put a "work crew" together to shovel out chicken poop from the coop. It does indeed stink terribly, and it's fairly caustic.

I don't fault any parent who truly is trying to install a good work ethic in their children, as well as teach them that a family is a community where everyone should pitch in and do their share. However, I think Kate simply enjoys making the kids do her bidding, especially now that her favorite whipping boy, Jon, has flown the coop.

As for the Gray Gigolo, I think once Kate can't afford his services, he'll move on without a glance back. It was always about the money for him.

Evvie said...

The worst thing that could possibly happen would be Mady becoming successful in TV. Sure Kate would be thankful...for keeping the money rolling in. But she would be eternally, intractably jealous, and take it out on Mady in every way, shape and form. In addition, I think the attention (even the negative attention from Kate) and accolades given to Mady would only hurt Cara's emotional well-being.

so very well said.
It's also nauseating to hear her on twitter acting like they are one day away from being in financial despair. "I will figure something out, I always do" is her mantra these days.

She's worried they won't have the money to live the pampered lifestyle they've been accustomed to, whereas many single mothers are worried if they have enough money to feed their kids and put a roof over their heads. She is so out of touch with reality...and the most disgusting part is her fans on twitter are very worried for her too. They should donate their time and energy into helping a needy family, not stroking Kate's ego.

kinman said...

Hopefully if the kids have outgrown the crooked houses, they have donated them to charity. That would have been a nice episode to show (if they actually did it). And Kate was so friendly to the men putting up the tree house (she IS on the prowl, after all) she just let them put it anywhere they wanted. I thought it was rather high from the ground, but just my opinion. I thought she might be worried about it being so far away from the house, because there are could be perverts or criminals who know where they live, since it is common knowledge) but the novelty of the tree house will probably wear off pretty soon anyway. It was so fake though, and there is no way she could have made a door like that without most of it being constructed "behind the scenes"with lots of editing so that it looked like she made it, so they must think the viewers are idiots, or they do not even care anymore. I just wonder if they will even keep the house or will Kate want to move to NYC or LA to find some opportunities in television, since that is where she wants to work (and that is obviously where she thinks the children's talents could lie) I think she is in for a rude awakening on both counts.

RONLEE said...

If she moves to LA or NYC, and tried to sell her home, she is going to take a bath...I live three miles aways from her and the value of my home is down 40% from the time I built it 17 years age...If she has a mortgate, am sure she owes more that the house is worth...

Jenny O said...

If indeed Kate is already lacking funds to pay the mortgage and the private school tuition, not to mention everything else -- then she really has frittered away all that money in a spectacular fashion.

How many of us would love to have a heap of cash come our way, as Kate did? No, we wouldn't agree to exploit our children's lives in order to gain that windfall, but say we won the lottery, or perhaps a wealthy relative left us a nice legacy. I would certainly take a portion of that money and splurge a little - take my son on a couple nice trips, get him a new bike and spruce up my existing home.

But I'd put the majority of it into something safe and dull, to hopefully earn a little interest and to provide a nest egg for my son's college education and my eventual retirement.

Hey, if Kate made selfish and unwise spending decisions, that's her problem. And she's not exactly with zero income - after all, Jon does pay child support for those 8 children.

She needs to do what the rest of us single and/or divorced moms do -- get a job, even if it's only part time. Not that I think anyone should suffer under her nursing care, but nurses can make a good income and often can get shifts that accommodate their children's schedules. I know of an nurse earning over $60/hour! Add in Jon's child support, and that would be a fairly decent and livable income for most of us.

Kate is not entitled to live in a huge home with acreage. Her children are not entitled to remain in pricey private schools. She may have become accustomed to this way of live, but she's going to have to kiss it sadly goodbye.

O-Hi-O said...

Now that Kate Gosselin has supposedly built a door, she can walk through it with her final goodbye.

Love the way she plays off that house is all about the kids - from what we've all seen, it's the lifestyle she's after, finally feeling she has some of what she has so richly deserved all her life - $ and constant attention.

Here's your door, Kate, a final adios to you and your b.s.'reality'.

So according to posts here, Kate is on the "begging trail" again.
I guess it is time to sell the mansion, but it would probably be a short sale if it is less than the mortgage.
If she really is broke (which I do not believe for one nano minute), she has only herself to blame for putting all her organic *eggs* in one basket.
Time to leave Kate, don't let the chicken wire door hit you on the way out!!

Kate has made millions from the show, $500,000 from Dancing With The Stars, and many thousands more from books and TV appearances.

Kate might not be the best person in the world but there is simply no way that she is out of money. She is a frugal spender (remember her yelling at Jon for not cutting coupons?) and she does love her children. She definitely wasted some on trips and clothes for herself, but not the entire fortune... her top priority is for her and the kids to live in their nice house and have the money to live comfortably.

If people are talking about her having money problems, I just don't believe that at all. I certainly believe she wants MORE money and more TV appearances, and I'm sure Kate is still playing the "eight kids are so expensive to raise" card.

But with millions of dollars, there is just no way she'll run out of money or need to sell that house (which is not in a super expensive location btw).

--------------------------

I agreed with it all until the teen mom comment came up. All the teen moms I know are quite responsible and love their kids very much. They're working hard to provide for their families. Kate however...doesn't do any of that. I really don't count what she does as a job. She makes money by whining and complaining and sitting around and then spends it on herself.

----------------------

She will if she doesn't get a job. It may not be in a super expensive location, but the mortgage, taxes, upkeep, maintenance, utilities, plus food, clothing, and other necessities for eight children will be staggering. Add the cost of school tuition (over 100 grand a year. and rising considerably each year), and yes, indeed, if she doesn't get a job she will have to sell it. Millions of dollars sounds like quite a bit, but it can go fast when you have the expenses that she does, and you live the lifestyle that she thinks she's entitled to.

On the episode, it showed several workmen assembling and putting up a tree house for the kids..I did not have actual photos of it. As far as the door, the episode showed various shots of Kate assembling a door jam and nailing it and it just seemed like something she would not have been skilled enough to pull off on her own without help. I did not have photos of these activities. I just saw them on the episodes.

They have to be driven to the bus stop. Its far enough away from their house that the kids cant walk.

Jenny O said...

She is a frugal spender (remember her yelling at Jon for not cutting coupons?) and she does love her children.

----------------------------

The reason she yelled at Jon was because Jon was her whipping boy. Remember how she told him he breathed too loud? Remember how she bellowed across Toys R Us for Jon to get over and HELP HER! Remember how she teased him about his weight gain? Remember how she used to give him slaps and hits that she called love taps? She wasn't yelling at Jon over not using a coupon because she is frugal, but because that was one of her ingrained habits and probably favorite things to do - yell at Jon and belittle him.

As to loving her kids - we'll have to agree to disagree on that one. She certainly loved the notoriety that came with having sextuplets; and she definitely loved the perks and the money that came along with having a show that featured she, Jon and the children. But I have not seen real, deep, mothering, nurturing love from Kate toward her children - EVER.

I never saw her snuggled up with them in bed, reading them a bedtime story. I never saw her comforting a child who fell and had a boo boo. I never saw her warmly wrap her arms around a son or daughter and quietly lean in just to smell their clean hair and close her eyes and enjoy that quiet moment.

No, I saw her place a boy with the flu on a cold laundry room floor and then leave him there in the dark like a dog.

I saw her scream at a little boy for getting some gum on his lovey and make him sob because she was going to throw it away.

I saw her make three little boys very sad ON THEIR BIRTHDAY by refusing to let them eat the cupcakes they had decorated themselves.

I saw her many petty cruelties, especially toward the boys, over the years.

I never saw love for her children. I abhor her and everything she stands for.

If KG has a mortgage on the home she'll run out of money, quickly. Mortgage (for a 1.2 million dollar home, purchase price)+ property taxes of 17K a year+ utilities+ insurance+upkeep+ labor (nannies, maids, gardener, pool guy, animal guy....) is a ton of money. I used to have a home of this caliber and it costs a ton to maintain. Add on tuition at a tony private school + expenses for raising 8 kids and the Gs are a rapidly sinking ship.

Anyone surprised? Who gets rich by having a ton o'kids and NO talent? NO ONE!

Anyone else read the article in USA Today about the growing trend of urban novices (like the Gosselins) raising chickens in their backyards and the resultant rise in cases of Salmonella?

It seems Kate Gosselin ought to be more concerned about 'Sammynella" than the dreaded "AVIATION flu"!

Just read ROL and they were talking about the Hollywood Walk of Fame and someone had asked the VP of Media about when they were going to induct "Reality Stars".

The VP of Media said, quote, Hell to the NO! on the official Facebook page.

ROL said, No Snooki, No kate Gosselin No Reality Stars!!

Bummer, kate!

This was tweeted the day after the announcement of cancellation:

She told one user, "we will all stay on twitter! I know I'm not going anywhere!"

Kate then channeled her emotions into her grueling workout routine, taking a few hours away from the website for a brisk run.

She tweeted, "Just ran 8.5 mi in 1:26. 1 mi for ea child and .5 for Shoka! Great stress relief! Whew! Shower..Egg wh om....Then tweet time! Be there soon!"

She is going to run a half a mile for a dog she can't stand to be around? She nearly busted a gut running ahead of children to grab the pups and announced their assigned names. She takes the joy out of everything, even getting a dog and letting the children name it. Then when they don't benefit her anymore, she gets rid of them.

It just killed Jon and the kids.

Instead of tweet time, why don't you go over your status as a RN and take refresher courses and get a nursing job. You went and did your nursing license that renewed it for 5 years and that has been what 2 years ago?

Unbelievable.

She did say on twitter she was doing some kind of coursework for license renewal. I don't think she'll go back to nursing anytime soon.

A tragic lesson already learned by Octomom, who recently said on Dr. Drew's program that she has realized her choices about having children have had a negative affect on them -- YA THINK??? I'm sure we'll never hear anything like that from Kate, but her kids have and will continue to pay for her choices.

I was referring to the show "teen mom" where they did show some girls parttying.

With all due respect, I find it hard to believe that she is taking refresher courses due to her nurses license. Even though I said that she needed too.

As many tweets she tweets in a day, with 8 kids, back and forth to school, running 8 to 10 miles in a day, how does she have time to study for the refresher courses?

Study for your PA real estate license, kate. What you spend on getting it will be cost effective on the amount of commission you will not have to pay when you sell your house.

It still makes me ill when I think about what I saw when kate was telling the men that were putting up the tree house, just anywhere, where ever you say, it doesn't matter.

I remember her jumping all over Jon about the crooked houses.

She put Jon through you know what.

with all that running she does... and her claims of worry about security and the paps... why does she NEVER take Shoka running? German Shepherds love to run... heck, instead of sending both dogs away, she should have made them her running buddies... would have been better bodyguards than Steve.

Somewhere on this site I saw she wants to sell the house for 2.5 million...let me tell you something...there is a home on the Bernville Road in Robesonia, 20 Berry Lane asking 1.75 million, and they cant sell it...its on 52 acres and is 110 year old...its a beauty....Katie Irene is dreaming....

reference my previous comment...the Gosselins bought the house for 1.12 million...it is now accessed at $482,900...she is lucky if she gets $500,000 for the home.....I paid $550,000 for my home on 5 acreas, now accessed at $280,000..our home in Florida I purchased 4 years ago for $300,000, now accessed at $116,000

The current market value for the home is between 600 and 700 thousand, perhaps more, depending on what improvements were made to the house. She did put in a new $75,000 kitchen, which must be taken into consideration when determining fair market value.

You cannot buy a 6,000 plus home on 20 acres for $482,000. If you could, I'd be making an offer today. It's assessed - not accessed, and assessment is not the same as market value. Assessment is for tax purposes; market value is what one could expect to get if the home were offered for sale.

They have to be driven to the bus stop. Its far enough away from their house that the kids cant walk.

This is true, but the statement was, "3) You had people to drive them to school etc..."

I was pointing out that she does not drive them to school (an hour away), nor does she have anyone drive them to school.

Kate is lucky in that there is a Reading bus that delivers the kids to school, and brings them home without multiple stops along the way. If the kids are involved in after-school activities, there is also a late bus. If transportation wouldn't be available, can you imagine the whining and complaining she would do if she had to drive them to school and pick them up at the end of the day like so many parents do?

Its all semantics. She dose in fact pay the school for the privilege of using the bus to transport them to and from school. She is paying the bus driver to take them to school. I do call that having someone (besides Kate) drive them to school.
