Does anyone know how to view the promo with Ashley for K+8?

Strap her to a lie detector test while hanging above a shark tank and I MIGHT watch, but we all know this is going to be more fluff questions and more lies.

Pretty obvious TLC isn't doing very much filming or spending much money on this show. Usually a show like this follows many weeks of episodes at the end of a season.

Have her on the Steve Wilkos show and take a lie detector test.

OMG! I haven't written here for a long time but she's back!! And she is worse than ever. It makes me sick that she is thinking of reuniting with parents now.. after she has apparently run out of friends, according to next week's episode. Now she is going to victimize her parents. She is not beautiful..to whoever that bimbo on the morning show was.. that interviewed her. She is quite homely. And tell me how much time she spends mothering to get a muscular body like she has. I can't stand her. The rumor mill has her on a dating show in the future. The thing that is funny is that I would watch that because I would like to see what kind of idiot men we have in America. Who would really want to date this crazy rude obnoxious self centered wreck of a person? and I hate to admit it but i would watch it!!

I thought there was a commercial about Ashley on the RV trip. Was that advertised as next week's show? Maybe it's incorporated into next week's show?

I'm not watching this farce of a show. They are trying to get the haters to watch for curiousity sake. Don't get baited in!

I saw a promo for this and kate seemed so uninterested in reading the questions and answering them. How can anyone find a show interesting if the person on the show is not interested.

kinman said...

I want to know if she has met Ellen yet and if not, why not? Ellen is with the kids alot and you would think Kate would want to meet her, as hard as it might be to be civil towards her. I want to know why these tv interviewers (Ann Curry, Joy Behar etc..) do not push this issue and ask her anything tough at all. It is all fluff and nothing hard-hitting at all. Kate always acts like she has such "thick skin" and can handle anything. If Jon is on the most-hated people list (apparently number 5 according to another thread) Kate should be ashamed of herself for doing nothing to make him look decent in the eyes of America. I know we do not know the whole story, but it seems like he is keeping a low profile, and he certainly does not trash her in public. She has every opportunity in these interviews to take the high road and say something nice about him (for the sake of the kids anyway) but she is so spiteful that she cannot even do that. She acts like he is non-existent, which is mean and hateful. I think she should get some tough questions but I'm sure TLC will not get into anything that will make her look bad at all.

Didn't watch either episodes Monday night because they looked so dull. I did, however, see the commercial for next week that appears to show Kate and the nanny having a permanent falling out. I actually had enjoyed the food bank episode and thought that Kate had maybe finally loosened up with the cancellation appearing imminent. I don't want to watch her fight with someone any more than I want to watch all of those cable news shows where political partisans scream at each other. Life's hard enough without watching people shrieking. I don't know whether I'll watch it or not. I hope all of this drama doesn't play out if front of the kids. When I DO watch the shows, it's because of the 8. I'd hate to see them exposed to more yelling.

sglily said...

kinman...I completely agree...any questions asked of Kate are not new to her, I'm sure they're all pre-approved with plenty of time to script an answer. If anybody could catch her off guard, it would have been Joy, so that's even more proof for me that Kate is being fiercely "protected" by TLC.

I find it hard to believe Jon is on this most-hated people list...but then again, Kate always seems to continue to slip in comments making sure we all don't forget about Jon's "wrong-doing"-taking off, to the clubs, the other "relationships", etc. I would like to think most of us can realize it was a big jump off the deep end with everything that was going on at the time (although not justifying any of the behavior!)

What the sad story here is Kate plastering herself all over the media whining about the lonliness of single-motherhood and the desperate plea to find a man to provide her happiness or fulfilment, and using her kids to help her do it! (which by the way is what should qualify HER for the most-hated people's list)

Long time reader first time poster. First thank you for exposing the truth about this show. Second if you really want this show off the air don't click on any links or video related to kate or the show. We all know what time the show comes on so don't just happen to channel surf around that time and just "happen" to catch a glimpse of the show. Last night I turned away from Say Yes to the Dress because every other commercial was about the new episode and the fake drama. I will not return to TLC until next Friday. Hopefully they won't continue to ruin the wedding shows that I do enjoy.

I watched Jon and Kate plus 8 for about two episodes after which I chose to no longer be a viewer. She treated her husband with such rudeness, ignorance and disrespect that I couldn't bring myself to be even a passive contributor to the relationship. The only surprise I felt when I heard about the split was the he put up with her garbage for as long as he did, likely for the sake of the children. I wish him the best and hope that she thinks very long and hard about the breakdown before she ever attempts another relationship. If she doesnt change, she will never succeed in an adult relationship. She seems to treat everyone in her life as a child---too bad only the 8 are....

RiseandShine said...

I don't watch anymore, ever. But I did see a commercial where some poor woman is crying and saying something about enjoying the children but that she "can't spend another minute with HER".
Too much! Poor kids,
another support gone from their lives.
The tell-all is a joke. Outside of those young twitter followers, who cares? Kate has said more than enough already.

Joanne said...

They are still filming obviously, so why do people think it will be cancelled? TLC hasnt had a clue in all these years how hated this vile woman is and still insists on putting her mug on TV.

I havent watched in years.

Amanda said...

Why do people think the show will eventually be cancelled? Because the ratings are dropping and TLC will end the show when it stops earning money for them. Kate is no longer a big hit for TLC. She is now around average or a bit below. It's a matter of time and viewer boredom for her to fall below the cancellation point. All reality shows do.

Dan C said...

no one will fall for the old fake argument trick thats airing tonight. Thats reality TV 101 lets fool the public , how pathetic man an why my television is blocked to TLC

Jenny O said...

Well said Amanda!

No television show goes on forever, and no star, no matter how brightly they once shone, stays up in the stratosphere forever either. Much less a junky reality tv "stah!" like Kate Gosselin, who has nothing to offer beyond a surgery-enhanced facade and a streak of selfish meanness the likes I've rarely seen underneath.

Just like every network, TLC is always looking for something or someone fresh, a new show that will capture viewers' attention and bring in the high ratings. Kate is old news, the children are no longer cute toddlers or even preschoolers, but 7 year olds entering first grade with their 6-year old classmates, while their two older siblings are fast approaching adolesence and full-on teenage angst.

Jon wants nothing more to do with the show. Kate is desperate to find another doormat to take his place as her spouse, but so far, no network has taken the bait and begun developing a show around her single status.

They've tried exotic trips, feel-good episodes where they pretend to do good at a food bank, birthday parties with catered peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and it's all a big yawn.

Yep, this show is moving toward cancellation.

I wonder if that same person meet her in person what Kate would do. Kate would have Steve on her in seconds

Beagletime said...

Watching the show I am struck by how an ugly spirit can make a person ugly on the outside. Kate isn't a bad looking woman, she has a decent enough figure. But when I see here there is absolutely nothing attractive, sexy, pretty about her. What does Steve see in her? She always has such an ugly scowl on her face. Her true spirit shows on her face.
I have also noticed in the recent episodes how poorly behaved the 6 are. They are old enough to have learned at least the rudiments of waiting their turn, not interrupting, etc. At their age they should just need a reminder.
All in all not an attractive family. I do think Mady and Cara seem like wonderful girls caught in a bad situation.

Shelley K said...

Won't be watching. But I'd love to hear her finally answer the plastic surgery question honestly, not just tell us all that she has a really good bra.

Grace said...

I haven't watched in a while, but I tuned in for this ep. I like to roll my eyes at all her answers in these Q&As.

The production company really didn't paint her in a positive light in this one, I felt. When they brought up divorce, she went on about how horrible Jon was, but they played clips of her yelling at him, picking on insignificant things. The only thing that made Jon look bad (or not good) was when he was rollerblading a distance ahead of his kids. Or, as I like to call it, being a dad.

With the announcement today, it's just interesting that they showed not-so-nice Kate, and they're following it up with a semi-roughing-it road trip, and we all know how she gets on those ;)

We know how Jon was thrown under the bus when he was uncooperative, maybe Kate was more of a diva than they were willing to handle in recent months?

I'm probably reading too much into it, but it's always fun to speculate.

Kia Ora said...

Well, I thought to myself, I watched the beginning shows, so may as well watch the last. What a nasty attitude she has (whats new).
She acted like everyone OWES HER. She was most definitely not into the Q&A. She looked like she couldn't be bothered. No enthusiasm what so ever. The way TLC put it together it seemed like it was leading up to their last hurrah shows? I think maybe she knew before today she was canned? Why no spunk in her voice etc?

cho boco said...

I saw a clip of an old episode recently and it really struck me how much Mady and Cara have changed since the divorce.

Mady was a very negative, often-complaining person. It seems to me that the divorce gave her a bit of a reality check and caused her to adopt a more positive attitude, which seems to have stuck. Like her mother, she has adopted a "this is tough but I'm going to make the best of things" attitude, and she seems changed for the better.

Cara has had the opposite effect. She had a happy-go-lucky personality and nothing bothered her. Now she seems sick of everything having to do with the show, sick of having to participate in 6-year-old level entertainment for the sake of the cameras. Without her father around to encourage her love of sports, she has gained some weight as well. She clearly has suffered the most from the divorce, probably more than Jon or Kate have (they each immediately found benefits/publicity after the divorce).

At least the tups, raised their entire lives in front of cameras, were able to handle it a little better... being young, it may not have shocked them quite as much as it did Mady and Cara.

I haven't seen this episode yet, and truthfully haven't watch much since the divorce. It was Kate's interaction with Jon that made the show interesting. Which is sad because she was always belittling him, which says more about me than them. Anyways, I was reading all the posts here and about Kate's twitter, so I thought I would check it out. How does she tweet that much! It's pretty obvious from her tweets that she's not watching her kids. 112 tweets in the past 24 hours! Plus an 8.5 mile run in an hour and a half. I hope the kids were with Jon yesterday!

kinman said...

She should have worn a top that was a little more modest last night. The side view was practically showing everything ( and looked like no bra), but I guess now she feels she needs to market whatever she has. She just cannot bring herself to show Jon in a decent light, can she.. She acts like a 12-year old when asked about his relationships, acting like she could care less. She SHOULD care alot, since these women are a part of her children's lives. She trashes him at every turn. When she said they would have ended up divorced anyway, even without the show,it just made me sad. It made me think about how the entire show was just probably a sham from the start, especially the two week Hawaii trip where they promised the kids they would always be together (and then they announced their split soon after).

GoneAwhile said...

I have to agree with what Beagletime said. I've never trashed Kate's appearance except her clothes and hairstyle because those are things easily controlled. I only caught a few minutes when flipping during commercials last night. I haven't watched in about a year, but I was truly taken aback by Kate's haggard appearance. Does she smoke? I know the sun and tanning are not helping, but her face is just so much more drawn looking, and you could really see the difference when they cut to the clips from the past.

I also think that maybe some of the damage was caused by weight loss because she did have more weight in her face in the old clips. I'm not going to criticize her for losing weight. I think that her body (at least clothed) seems okay (although the choice of clothes are not flattering at all).

I was just wondering. Literally the skin between her nose and eyes just looked like it was being pulled down and she really REALLY has to stop with the tanning.

Wow. I guess both Jon and Kevin need to be freed from under the wheels of the not-so-passive aggression bus. That woman is simply toxic to anyone she comes into contact with. Loved when she whined about how she feels bad that her family has to deal with the paparazzi and intrusion. Um, HELLO, you JUST talked about how you essentially don't have a family anymore aside from the kids! You JUST pretty much disowned your brother in the previous segment. And if by "family" she meant the kids, well, that was of her own making & she can't have her cake (exploiting their lives on a TV show) and eat it too by expecting the paps & others to just ignore them aside from watching the show. Doesn't work that way, witch.

It seems the day People.com announced the cancellation of the show TLC is now advertising their next four(?) episodes as the 'last shows' where it seems that just last week they weren't advertising them as the last four...I don't know, it just seems odd. I don't know enough about television production/marketing so I'm clueless; it just seems strange.

Anyway, back to this particular episode....wow...(snarky I will be, I apologize)...Kate looks so bad. It's her eyes; they looked so blank, so distant, so spacey. And, it goes without mentioning, but I will, the questions and her answers were so predictable. Kate was very rude and childlike while discussing Jon and her brother. It's about time these kids get their retirement....they've worked so hard and long enough.

Just saw part (nausea took over, causing a change of channel) of this joke of an episode.

Hilarious to me that she has such a high opinion of herself. She casually blows off filmed examples of her childish and obnoxious behavior and mean-spiritedness towards other AS IF this behavior is minor, like occasionally choosing the wrong spoon for soup vs. tea. Not only does she seem to think of this behavior is a minor detail in the whole of her being, but she also implies that, not for this one 'little' personality trait, she'd be damned near perfect.

Also have to laugh at her written statement, something about 'as characteristic of me, I am taking the TLC cancellation in stride, looking for the positives in life. WHUT???

This chick sure holds herself in high esteem. She is always FAR FAR more willing to down play or entirely overlook her own personality flaws WHILE offering such constant criticism of others, as if only SHE does EVERYTHING the one RIGHT way.

She really seems to see herself as hardworking, scrupulously ethical, optimistic, inherently likable - all evidence to the contrary in her 150 episodes.

Kate's best friends have always been her own delusions about herself.

Justcheckingin said...

I haven't watched in so long but tuned in for the last 5 minutes of the Q&A session. I was shocked at how awful Kate looks. Her blank stare makes me wonder if she's on some sort of antidepressant, and that fake tan is just scary. Her skin looks like that of a sick person. It's time she started to dress appropriately for a mother of 8.

Those flashbacks made me wonder if Kate sees how much prettier she was when she was with Jon. She's turned into a haggard looking bitter woman.

justcheckingin said...

As for Jon, I wish him all the best. He got a raw deal when he married Kate. Too bad. What Kate is doing isn't so different from what she's accusing Jon of. Kate parties too.

In fairness to Jon, somehow I believe that after Mady & Cara, he wasn't gung ho on having 6 more kids. Not to say he doesn't love all of them; it's obvious he loves all those kids, but I think Kate forced the 6 on him before he was ready for it.

In last night's Ep Kate was complaining about being a single mother, no one helping her, and she had to take care of the 26 acres of land and the big house all by herself. I'm sorry but she wanted all of that and now she has to deal with it. She didn't need 26acres. They live in middle PA and she could have found a nice big enough house even with a pool for far less. Look at the Hayes family, they work hard and do what they have to raise their childern and one even has a handicap. I'm so sick of Kate and her attitude and that she does all this for the kids, she does it for herself, it's clear how she acts and how she has no friends and family. Also I don't believe her brother betrayed her, I'm sure they confronted her but she wouldn't have it plus Jodi did everything for her and the kids which wasn't an act for tv. So Kate is demonizing everyone that went against her. How many times can you blame others before it clear it only you that is the issue.

No matter how much money she has she never managed to dress in a classy manner. Still getting her clothes at "Sleezy R Us."

I agree with other posters regarding how bad she looked last night. Does she not watch herself on tv???

O-Hi-O said...

I found it startling, actually, to see K8G in earlier footage, especially right after her tummy tuck, when she had a normal and flattering haircut, to her current appearance.

The years have NOT been kind to her face, despite whatever surgical interventions she may have had to 'improve' her appearance.

There was a time when she looked normal and healthy and even pretty. Now she just looks like one more of the many vapid women who have sold their soul (not to mention their naturally-occuring physical attributes) in order to fit a more Hollywood concept of feminine beauty.

As with so many of the other 'reality' women ("Housewives Of...", for example), all the botox, lip plumping, dental veneers, hair extensions, and silicone/saline breast implants serve only to give an overly contrived, plastic, one-size-fits-all, manufactured Barbie wannabe look.

Pretty poor example to be setting by a woman raising five daughters. Good luck with that one, K8G.

I only saw the clip of Kate talking about how she "misses having another parent around, but not the parent that was there"...she didn't even bother to mention Jon's name (as TLC rolled clips of when Jon WAS around-which by the way brought tears to my eyes as well) Although it doesn't surprise me one bit, considering when asked in one interview way back when if she missed Jon, she stated she missed the Jon "she knew" but referred to him as "the bathman". Once again, empty of any emotion and degrading Jon to feel like just another person on her list to complete tasks and carry out her orders.

Sorry to say I, too, noticed her lifeless gaze, ill-fitting tank top and weathered face while the clips rolled of times past when Kate actually wore whatever was comfortable, did her own hair and cleared the dinner table.

I could say a million things over what Kate answered but the one thing I really take issue with is AGAIN showing the poor baby with the poop all over her in the crib. Is she allowed no dignity? The little girl will be mercilessly teased with this image in the sensitive years ahead. I didn't find this endearing or entertainment-worthy whatsoever. Five or ten minutes of this episode was enough for me. Kate's personality is just so...I can't even describe it but to say that she makes me very uncomfortable as a viewer; I can't come up with anything to relate to her or anything she says. Some people just have the kind of negative effect on someone else. It's when, in real life situations, one or the both of you back off. With Gosselin popularity diminished and the show cancelled, maybe Kate will take the hint.

Been a while since I posted although I have been lurking...
I haven't had much to say since the paps lost complete interest in her and she just fell off the radar. However, I do want to say that her hope that she will continue her career in the media is pathetic. She may be so comfortable in front of a camera and want this great career to continue but let's face it...
Who would want her on their show? They would get such grief from viewers. You can read all the predominantly negative comments on the sites after she is on TV. It's actually quite remarkable how much she is detested. I can't think of anyone SO despised that has ever been asked on a talk show just for the hell of it. So I say her TV career is officially never going to happen. And the dating thing? Wow, lazy Kate at her best. A single woman's dream. Have the production crew find 25 handsome, successful, well adjusted men who love kids. The odds are pretty good she will find a dumb fart out of the 25.

I'm glad I recorded and watched this show: the clips of times gone by reminded me of why I originally loved it.

Observations:

Kate used to be very sweet looking. Even in the sweats. She seemed real then. Now she looks hard and cold (especially her eyes (windows to the soul?).

I hated her comments about Jon and how much she doesn't care about who he's dating, etc. As another poster said--she SHOULD care for her children's sake. From the look on her face, and how she kept going on and on about it, it's pretty obvious to me she does care-she's (excuse my language) pissed off.

While I was not a fan of Jon's during his Ed Hardy days, the Jon I saw in the clips last night was so caring and tender and sweet with his children. When he kissed each one of them and looked at each little face as he did so, it nearly broke my heart.

Team Jon.

sglily said...

cali-girl...my thoughts exactly. Kate continues to slip in any chance she gets to make sure we all don't forget Jon's "rebellion", and yes, he did make quite a spectacle of himself.

However, Kate needs to take a step back and take a good, long look...parading around in scantily-clad outfits & bikinis in front of her own children does not exactly communicate a healthy self-esteem or respect, nor does her calling to some unknown guy across the street from a cupcake shop hoping for a date. Obviously any future in showbiz is unpredictable, so it would be wise to model a careful, planned budget so as not to force worry on the kids-as she probably did when she complained on national TV about the stack of bills in her purse she couldn't pay, all the while dressed to the nines with the hair & make-up to match having just flown in from her million-dollar manse.

haha, I laughed at that one too. My 25 year old daughter is a very tiny girl, small boned, has been all her life and she is growing out of her size 2's. She is 5'2" and around 105lbs. There is no way Kate with her stubby legs is a size 2. Maybe a size 4, but not size 2.

I have to agree. I'm 5'1. Even way back when I weighed 105 I was not wearing a 2. I remember then they used 3/5/7 more than today's 4/6/8, but normally I'd be in 3's or 5's. She loves to flatter herself. I also heard where she did not admit to the boob job and just claimed to ever have had a tummy tuck. Uh, sure.

It takes A LOT for me to prefer Jon (and all his previous madness) to anyone. Well done, Kate! Jon conforms to whatever’s leading him. No wonder they got together in the first place, and no wonder it didn’t last. He’s probably being led better right now than before.

Anyone else find their plastic surgery question oddly asked? And what a juvenile way to address the complex issues of post-divorce dating with children. Even more juvenile how she doesn’t even bother to say “We grew apart but we loved each other very much once, and from that love came our children” – healthier for the kids to hear, no?

I always love it when she says that they would have divorced even if the show had not happened. How in the world does she think they could have afforded to do that?

Kate wants to get into acting so now that she has made herself look like Joan Crawford I know the perfect part for her. How about a remake of "Mommie Dearest" I can't think of a single person who would be better for the part!

A big part of the show was Jon and Kates interaction (or should I say Jon's reaction to Kate). Kate doing a moniloge to the camera just doesn't make it.

I agree that 2there is no way Kate is a size 2. I'm 5'1" and, until I started taking steroids to control my asthma, when I was in my mid 40's, I never weighed more than 95#. I sometimes wore a size 2 top, if it was cut full, but I never wore a 2 on the bottom. Kate is a lot bustier than I've ever been, so I call BS. I'd guess she's a 6, or maybe even an 8. She's not fat, by any means, but she appears to be large boned. Besides, I think she said she wore a size 7 1/2 or 8 shoe - no one with small bones wears a shoe that size (and if anyone wants to know - 5 1/2 AAA for me). Again - not an excessively large size, but still not exactly petite.

(snip) Kate doesn't wear a 2 or a 4. There's no way those bazooms would fit into a size 2 top. It's more like a 6 or an 8. She's thick-waisted and she'd never get a size 2 closed at the waist. But, if it makes her feel good thinking she's that size, then so be it!

Kate's shoe size become public knowledge when her DWTS dance shoes were auctioned for charity. Before we go down that road again, please remember they were in European sizing.

Haha!....good one, Beth. Although, I must add that it probably won't be a remake. It will most likely be Mady's "tell all" book made into a made-for-TV movie. Kate will be forced to accept the role of herself due to her lack of employment. She'll be prefect for this role! Go Mady!

I'm not so sure there WILL be future visits with the Gosselins. I looked to see what episodes TLC will show tonight and they're not even having the usual mini-marathon of prior recent episodes. Just one new and one old one.

Has anyone else noticed that Hanni...Kates favorite...has long hair...curled and beautifully taken care of...while the other two little girls have hair cuts that bring back memories of the old Kate style...and not groomed at all...just think how bad things will get when there are no cameras to catch Kate doing anything...

When she said she doesn't want to work. She wants to stay in the tv industry, I had a scary thought. What if she goes on one of those Housewives of shows? She has something lined up. She loves $$$ to much not to have a plan. What she really needs is to go to rehab.

Don't worry. Yes, Kate doesn't want to work. Yes, she wants money to keep rolling in. But it sure doesn't sound like she has anything lined up in the tv field, and I seriously doubt she ever will have anything approaching the luck that landed in her lap with this show. No, at most, Kate will get offers to come on low budget shows in search of D-list celebs, where she will merely be one of a crowd all desperately seeking the limelight. It won't pay much, and will almost assuredly require her to deal with unpleasant circumstances. I'm thinking of Heidi and Spencer being on that show called "Help, Get me out of Here!" or something like that.

The only thing Kate has to look forward to right now is a rather sad attempt by her teen age fans to hold some sort of festival in her honor, somewhere, at some time, with money that has yet to materialize.

What Kate doesn't get is that in order to be successful in life, you have to work for it. She got lucky once - it won't happen again.
