Kate on Sarah Palin's Alaska, December 12

It looks like they found enough footage to splice into a Palin episode.

US Sneak Peak May have been pulled.

To keep this within the context of the blog, please do not branch off into Sarah Palin or aspects of the episode outside of Kate.  This is solely about Kate on this episode.  Thank you.

Further politics, your opinion of Sarah Palin, etc, are not relevant.

OH MY, Kate looks pissed-off the whole preview, throws food on the ground and throws a hissyfit!

WOW. Just... wow. Throwing food down and whining/crying "Im Hungry!!!" .... and anyone wonders where her kids get it? COME ON!!!

WHO was Kate yelling at? It was almost as if Jon were back!

I think TLC will have some ratings on that night. They need to realise that they get the biggest ratings, when people think that Kate will finally get knocked off her high horse. People watched jon and kate to see if jon would EVER tell her off or slap her face.

She is a spoiled brat.

The way Kart was throwing a hissy fit ... now we know where Maddy learned how to do this.

Kart's kids look like zombies in the shows. Sarah's kids look happy.

As much as I'd love to see Katie Irene cry like a baby because she's hungry, I won't be watching. Don't want to throw any ratings her way in any way, shape, or form. I'll wait til I can catch it on youtube or someone puts a link here. I did enjoy the preview, though.

So Kate's horrible behavior is finally exposed on a show other than her own show. Am thinking TLC has had enough of her diva behavior and finally exposing it.

Let's face it, the tides have turned. No one, in their right mind, believes that the kids are not suffering from Kate's constant self-absorbed behavior, or that her kids are not acting out and that everything is wonderful.

I watched the clip with her crying while camping and it sounded so fake. Just as fake as she sounded on DWTS. Bet she didn't like the competition from Sarah either. She's used to being the one trick pony on her show.

This time she's probably just miffed that TLC went with "Sarah P's Alaska" instead of giving K8G this show format, calling it "Kate Gosselin's Pennyslvania".

The sheeple are saying that Kate was "set up" by TLC to look bad?

Nonsense. Kate doesn't need any help to look like the sour and ungrateful witch she is.

Nice of her to suck the fun out of a once in a lifetime experience.

I have mixed feelings about this episode.
On the one hand I am glad that even more people will have their eyes opened to the real Kate. On the other hand, I'm disappointed that Sarah Palin would align herself with such a person. It seems she would be diligent enough to research Kate Gosselin simply by watching a few episodes of her show, reading websites, etc. I'm just very disappointed that we have yet another big name personality who was willing to put ratings and money ahead of integrity.

On another note - each time I've tried to go to Baby Mama's site over the last few days, I am redirected to the Google search page and I can't get logged into the blog. Is anybody else having problems with this?

Mark Burnett, the well-known and very successful producer of Survivor and The Apprentice (and others) is the producer of Sarah's Alaska show. Therefore, if Maddy was shaken hard by Kate or if Kate was a total ass & bitch, then Mark witnessed it or certainly heard about it. Mark would have spread it around to Donald Trump and everyone else in Hollywood. Yeah!!! The word is spreading around fast about Kate and all her antics. 2011 may very well bring Kate to her knees.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

I think you are right. I think TLC is done, but they have a contract with her. As bad as they have been with promoting this shrew, they can't ignore what is happening with her kids. They have to have some compassion for these kids. Kate will never willingly stop filming. Even if she says she will take a break to get the kids back on track, she knows that is her death sentence, so she keeps up with the everything and everyone is just wonderful charade. Who does she think buys this garbage???? The writings on the wall! I don't know about entertainment contracts, but if she really has signed one until 2/2012, I guess TLC is stuck with her. Seems lately they are showing a lot more of her "questionable" behavior, unless that is all they have.

I haven't watched her show since before the fake Hawaii vow renewal, but I have to say I am facinated that she is still plugging along, with all the bad press, negative blogs and articles written about her. She is one greedy, self centered broad to endure all the hatred just to make that extra buck. IMO, she has to have enough money to live comfortably for a while. She needs to step back and figure out what she is going to do with herself, cause this is not working and her kids are suffering for it. She and she alone is damaging those kids.

I like Sarah Palin's Alaska but not enough to watch Kate and her madness.

Sadly K8 will probably stay on a while longer. Reality shows are cheap to produce compared to scripted shows. The participants in reality shows receive a one time compensation with no residual payments like actors on scripted shows. Since each reality episode airs multiple times with commercial payments received for each airing, they make a lot of money for the network.

Remember TLC has a lot of broadcast hours to fill each week (168).

I still believe that Kart has no clue the significance of Sarah Palin. I also believe that Sarah Palin has many viewers who probably are clueless as to who the Kart is. And if the clip is any indication, the contrast only show Sarah in a more positive light, and Kart will definitely no gain any supporters. And I don't believe for second that it was an "act". She had a meltdown pure and simple. A meltdown that even Purseboy himself could not contain.

pink diamonds...I 100% agree with you! I don't think Kate understood the magnitude of Sarah Palin. Say what you want about her but she ran for Vice President and was a governor. I understand that she is not a celebrity like Angelina Jolie but still, Palin is a powerhouse with all the things Kate could capitalize on...celebrity, Christian audience, and air time with someone who everyone knows her name. What does she do? Throws a fit! I think Alaska must have been an all around bad trip for her.

And as far as the Today interview..how is it ironic that she forgave Jon? She has preached being a Christian...isn't that what you do? Her command of the english language astounds me. Can't hardly follow what she is saying because she will start out with one thought and totally switch in midsentence!

Actually, if you watch this show, it will be for Palins ratings. Remember the Halloween special , Palins show had twice as many viewers, then K8, dropped. It will be worth watching, after the ratings part, when it is repeated, just to see Kate make a fool out of herself and get Palins reaction to Kates' melt down. After all Palin is out spoken. It will be good for a few laughs.

It may be Sarah's show but if the ratings go up because Kate is on it sends a powerful message to TLC. So I'm going to ask this: If you watch Palin's show already, please don't when Kate is on. Don't dvr it, don't tivo it, just don't watch. That sends a message to TLC if the numbers go down because Kate is on.

If you don't watch "Alaska", then don't start just because Kate is on. Again, if the numbers on Sarah's show go up, TLC sees value in Kate.

Obviously you are all adults and will make your own choices, but watching allows Kate and TLC to keep prostituting the kids for their (K&Tlc's) benefit. Just muse on that a little before you turn the tv on.

Although I realize TLC doesn't do much to help her look good on her show - but I just wonder about it. If Sarah's show gets good ratings I hope TLC realizes it would be people tuning in to see Kate crash and burn not because they are excited to see Kate again.

I think Kate's horrible behavior will earn her a new legion of haters. Think of how her reputation suffered with DWTS due to her terrible attitude, lack of effort, and unfair treatment of Tony. A whole new, very large audience was exposed to her ugliness and her reputation has never recovered from it. Palin's large audience of devoted fans will not appreciate Kate's disrespect, bitchiness, and histrionics. They will be appalled by her treatment of Mrs Palin and her own kids. Kate's worst enemy is Kate and she's so unstable and hatable that this episode will expose her to a whole new audience. Her house of cards appears to be teetering, soon to fall.

I absolutely LOATHE Kate. But, here is what i am starting to wonder--I saw the Alaska previews and Kate's hissy fit and melt down. Do you think maybe she is actually displaying this type of behavior ON PURPOSE to keep attracting attention, be it positive or negative?

I am beginning to suspect that she is "acting" a bit because she is so desperate to be in the limelight. She knows people will talk about her antics and perhaps she is such an ego maniac that she doesn't care if she looks like an idiot as long as people are talking.

Maybe TLC has even "encouraged" her to have these little bad behavior moments on national tv.

And you, our most favourite organ grinder and your 8 little monkeys.... just keep it going, nice and strong like you have been Katie Irene. We won't abandon you like you so deperately fear. Just keep that cash flowing, and keep exercising and eating those salads and filling yourself up with your bottled water and cups of coffee. It's a good appetite suppressant. And your evening booze binges with Steve down in the basement? Keep up the daily runs and it shouldn't be a problem. But try and lay off the smokes. Your face is starting to show it. Or is it just your general unhappiness that is taking it's toll? The stress is starting to creep up onto your face, Katie. More bennies. Just take more bennies Katie. And we shall prevail!!!! Remember, now that she is divorced, she is "can do Kate"...she can do anything...remember? they would have wanted her to act in THAT manner. Instead, she is a selfish, spoiled hate filled person, and just can not endure ANYTHING. She must be fussed over, adored and pampered, or she will blow.

Everyone needed to just leave her in her tent to pout. What was she going to do, run into the woods with bears?

She would probably scare a bear.

What makes me getting mad at the media, is they are acting as if this is the first time we are hearing of Kate camping with Palin. This took place several months ago, but not one article states that. They all act like this is recent, like right after the Today Show or just before. It shows you that the media does not do their homework.

Too Bad So Sad: I knew that organ grinder comment would resonate with my fellow GWOP's.

On a lighter note, if anyone wants to see Kate's fantastic acting skills in action, and I must say, this is an example of her at her finest, go on Youtube and watch her gig on SWTS, the one with Jonny Moseley. I think it's 'correspondent day 2'. You have to replay it about 3 or 4 times to truly appreciate how terrible she really is. But fair warning: about the 3rd time, you start to taste the bile come up. I especially love the part when she lightly places her lovely hand with those nails that get worked on every 2 weeks gently to the side of her cheek, squeaks like a chipmunk having an orgasm and then whimpers the words, "in love....". She kind of reminded me of Mary Hart, the way Mary over acts and exaggerates everything in the phoniest way imaginable with that perma-grin and wide-eyed look she gets going when she's interviewing someone and pretending to care. Oh, and watch Jonny's partner, Brooke Castile check out Kate's fake boobs with one of the longest stares I've seen in a while when she should have been looking at Kate's beautiful face. Too funny.

It wouldn't surprise me if TLC has plans to methodically put Kate in situations they know she can't handle, because:

1) It would hasten her inevitable crash & burn and get them out of the balance of her contract.

2) In the meantime, they'd get some great, dramatic footage and super high ratings.

and...

3) In the years (and lawsuits) to come they could say, "See, it wasn't our fault that the kids suffered -- it was because of their crazy mother."

I have heard this very disturbing news referenced about Khate shaking Mady. Where did this report originate from? Does anyone know? The fact that she would do this to her child is beyond belief. It is cruel and unusual punishment. It is degrading and demeaning. If that evil creature had one mothering bone in her body, she would know that that is just horrific and evil. Then poor Mady has to pose for the damn picture! If Palin's camp declined to report this abuse, then why didn't Purseboy intervene? He was there. Doesn't it just say everything that Khate has to have Purseboy as a minder or monitor to keep her actions from her profound mental illness and evil soul in check? If Purseboy is seeing abuse, he should reporting it. He is not a mandated reporter, but as a human being, it is the right thing to do.

I'm not convinced k8 was acting, but I do believe that TLC had a very good idea how she'd react in Alaska. They've sent her on many, many trips, they've seen how she's behaved in each situation & unless they're very dense, they know what pushes her buttons.

From the sounds of it, the witch was put in a situation she didn't like & blew her lid. As someone else said they should have just let her go pout in a tent. Steve should have reigned her in & reminded her that if she wants the money she needs to do what is required of her. Sounds a lot like giving into a spoilt child.

TLC knows that any less than a full wait staff & spa at the shrew's beck & call, it's only a matter of time before katie blows.

Personally I think the bears were in more danger than she was, with that toxic, straw-haired wendigo walking the woods.

Please people, vote with your remotes not to watch & free the Gosselin 8!

I rewatched the little clip, and of course it could have been taken out of context, but Kart WAS having a meltdown. Look at the tears in her eyes and her facial expression. Also, there have been several "leaks" about what went on in Alaska. The "leaks" match the footage. I don't think it is a coincidence. I think TLC should think long and hard if they believe exposing Sarah's fans to the Kart's behavior is wise.

Every comment posted on the US Weekly Alaska link was ANTI-Kate... except for one person who said they hate camping.

This one was my personal favorite-

"I only hope this episode includes a Dick Cheney like incident with Palin shooting Kate followed up by her turning the gun on herself."

Clearly Kate just uses the episodes as an attempt to strike back at the general public's opinion of her. It's not about the kids anymore at all. It's about KATE-- cash, free trips, freebies, and responding to stabs that have been taken at her sad existence. Kate does the same exact thing on the TLC blog (and I find it extremely weird).

For instance... 'Cara got stung by a bee on her lip, and NO I have NOT had Botox!' Weird. At this point, the damage done to her face is far beyond Botox's help. Botox must not know HOW to help Kate.

TLC's site has the Gosselin episode listed for Dec. 12, which hasn't changed all week despite releasing a clip to UsMagazine with a December 5th date. Even a few media reported earlier this week that the episode would appear in two weeks, not this Sunday, before that exclusive clip was released.

Noticed your request in other threads/blogs about The View. If you google Werny Gal's Small Town Gosselins, then go to her current post about reality tv - someone transcribed what the girls said in the comments section, page 2. Too long to post.

Sarah Palin makes Kate Gosselin cry on camping trip: TLC's 'Sarah Palin's Alaska'

The Mama Grizzly made another one of America's most famous (and prolific) mamas break down in tears.

During an episode of Sarah Palin's reality show on TLC, octomom Kate Gosselin wells up while on a camping trip with the outdoorsy ex-vice presidential candidate.

The entire show will air on Dec. 12.

"I have never camped for real," Gosselin admits in the episode's trailer, released on Saturday by UsMagazine.com.

Previews show the strange duo roughing it in Palin's native Alaska. Gosselin is seen hiking with her eight children, crying for decent food and watching fearfully as Palin shoots a gun.

"She's going to be relying on me to protect her, Palin says.

But after a mental breakdown, Gosselin decides she's had enough of the great outdoors and storms off the campsite after just two hours, the National Enquirer reported. The trip was supposed to last two days.

Gosselin, who divorced her kids' father Jon last year, initially agreed to come on the show for her TLC series "Kate Plus 8.

"Come on! It wasn't that bad!" the former Alaska governor lamented.

Jojow said...

Watching Kate whine reminds me of something my dad used to say (the incorrect grammar is part of the tone of it)...

"she ain't got no fun about her!"

That's Kate - not a fun, relaxed, easy-going, easy-to-get-along with, fun to be around bone in her body.

I'm sure Sarah was ready to shoot her by the time Kate stormed out of the campsite.

It's a Wonderfully Wonderful Life said...

One of the fan sites is actually saying that TLC "scripted" Kate's meltdown, and while Kate of course would never behave like that in real life, is "too professional" not to comply with the producer's wishes!
Color me speechless.

Ummm, this review of the upcoming episode which it seems the writer previewed, pretty much corroborates the rumors from the summertime:

http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2010/12/06/kate-gosselin-whines-way-sarah-palins-alaska/

"Maybe it was finding out the hot-dogs are moose. About that time, Kate loses it.

"I don't see a table, I don't see utensils, I don't see hand-cleansing materials," she whimpers. "This is not ideal conditions. I am freezing to the bone, I have 19 layers on, my hands are frigid. I held it together as long as I could and I'm done now!"

She gathers up her children and, mere hours after their arrival, they have eaten and run.

Fortunately, Sarah knows the show must go on. Minus the Gosselins, she settles the crowd down for the night.

"Well, I thought we were gonna go camping with the Gosselins," she says when it's all over, full of glossy good cheer. "Turned out, we didn't. We had lunch with them on a sand bar.'"

so sick of her said...

Perhaps, the point of having Kate on Palins show is to get rid of her. Think about this: Kate goes camping, TLC knows Kate dislikes the outdoors to a point, what a better way of having Kate make a fool out of herself, have a hissy-fit, bitch/whine/complain/be a crybaby/etc , to show that everything Kate trys to stand for(in her mind)that she has said to the Media is BS. Therefore, people will dislike her even more, stop watching her "specials" and anything she has coming up: like books, appearance, other shows and then they can simply dump her legally. (she did not live up to her contract). This episode will also show people where her kids get the anger from. She can't blame Jon for this.

worksinproduction said...

TLC doesn't need a reason to cancel Kate if they want to do that. Being on reality TV is always at the pleasure of the network. TLC can cancel without resorting to tricks to get Kate to do something. What it looks to me like has happened is that Kate has lost her fanbase or more likely the kids have lost theirs. They aren't the cute babies that the grandma set doted on. They aren't in need and those who wanted to help now feel duped. What's TLC to do? I think they played to the people who like to watch Kate train wreck to boost the viewership of Palin's show.

I don't think that was their original intention but Kate didn't rise to the occasion like she did at the dude ranch. The true Kate came out instead this time and TLC is trying to make lemonade out of the lemons Kate gave them. Her show is all but dead so TLC will edit to those that they think they might entice with the clips of how bad she is. Her die hard fans will watch no matter what she does.

so sick of her said...

Worksinproduction, I understand what your saying. But it depends on what kind of contract she signed with TLC. What is in the contract: like a clause: saying show can't be canceled, unless ratings fall below a certain level or for example: if say she gets arrested they can cancel show cause she broke their moral code. TLC had field day with Jon. What ever was in that contract prevented Jon from getting a job in media and any other job had to be approved by TLC. It just depends what is in the contract. TLC saw a cash-cow in Kate. But when the silly fool, thought she can do anything she likes, say anything she likes, they put purse-boy there to baby-sit. But since that has not exactly worked, they are looking for a legal way out. So, if rating fall, that contract they have with her till 2012, might just become null & void. Kate is not that dumb, but pushing the knife will get her cut.

Kate has the honor of spending quality time with one of the most famous women in America and can't last a mere two hours?
She stomps around like a spoiled bratty child.
Can imagine how disappointed and embarrassed all kids were?
TLC needs to show the footage of Kate shaking her child then posing for the smiling "happy family" picture with that abused child looking miserable and shook up.
TLC I dare you. You will get some good high rating showing Kate as true herself. Isn't that all you care about?

Huffington Post provided a little bit more of a spoiler, not seen on the video. This is hysterical! For all those who thought the only whining was in that little video preview, apparently the answer is no, there IS more!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/12/06/kate-gosselin-loses-it-camping-sarah-palins_n_792515.html

The first stop: Sarah takes Kate to a bear safety class to prepare her for their camping expedition.

On the road from Wasilla to the class in Anchorage, Sarah sort-of jokes that, in case of a bear attack, "You need a partner with you who's slower than you."

"Oh, my gosh!" replies Kate, who already was spooked by the bear rug in the Palins' home. "Sacrifice your friends?"

At the rifle range, she looks more miserable than she used to look with Jon.

And that's only the beginning.

The day of the camping trip, it's – wouldn't you know? – pouring rain.

Out in the middle of nowhere by a stream and surrounded by mountains, Sarah is smiling, chipper and (literally) loaded for bear.

"Rain or shine, Alaskans still camp. We still find a way to have fun," she chirps.

Then Kate and her kids land at the campsite. Quickly, Kate proves to be a bigger pill than a horse tranquilizer.

"I'm not worrying about bears right now," she is soon grousing. "I'm just worried about keeping my toes wiggling 'cause they're freezing."

Sarah, daughters Piper and Willow, husband Todd and other family members seem to be having a blast. So, for that matter, are Kate's youngsters.

"The kids are having fun, so I'm tolerating it, but this is my new home," grumbles Kate, having sullenly planted herself, apart from the rest, beneath a tarp. "I am miserable, but, I mean, somebody's got to be."

Sarah, ever gung-ho, announces to the group, "This is the most luxurious camping spot I've ever seen!"

Cut to Kate, who tells the camera, "It just kills me that people, like, willingly do this."

Soon everybody else is enjoying hamburgers, hot-dogs and s'mores from the camp fire.

Maybe it was finding out the hot-dogs are moose.

We had lunch with them on a sand bar."

On a lighter note, if anyone wants to see Kate's fantastic acting skills in action, and I must say, this is an example of her at her finest, go on Youtube and watch her gig on SWTS, the one with Jonny Moseley. I think it's 'correspondent day 2'. You have to replay it about 3 or 4 times
---------------------

When I have a chance, I will definitely look up that clip. I'm in the Bay Area of California, and Jonny Mosely is one of our "local boy does good" stories. He was on a local radio station this morning doing a little interview about his SWTS stint. He really is a pretty nice guy.

Anyway, the female host teased him about Kate G. having a crush on him. Sadly, he was totally professional and didn't say anything negative about Kate. He also said that yes, he does plan to show all of her 8 kids how to snowboard.

On the plus side, he certainly didn't gush over her or say anything positive. He basically said, "oh yeah, she interviewed us all for ET." When prompted, he agreed that he has promised to take her kids to the snow. "Yeah, for sure."

Considering he's a fairly busy guy with his own family, I wouldn't place any bets on that get-together happening anytime soon.

I read the review in the Huffington Post, and here's what really gets me. The Gosselin kids were having a great time, really enjoying the adventure with the Palins. Now, any other mother would have toughed it out for the sake of her kids, but not Kate. For Kate, it's all about her, all the time. It was a perfect oppportunity to put the kids' needs ahead of her own, but she blew it.

Good grief, the woman is PAID to be filmed while camping with one of the most famous women of our time, and she can't keep it together for a couple of days? Look, I'm not much into rough camping either, and I'm not a fan of Palin's, but I'd be very happy to be there. Palin's a tough lady, and I'd feel perfectly safe with her. I wonder if she offered to give Kate remedial gun safety lessons? Not that Can(not) Do Kate would take her up on it; guns are for icky boys, after all.

re: Jonny Mosely teaching the Gosselin 8 to snowboard:

It seems, if we are to believe ANYTHING from "J&K+8", that the only child who is not an 'indoor person' like their mother was Cara, who, with Jon, took to the ski slopes with ease.

Their dad seems to hold his own on the slopes, so, other than their mom's love of publicity from mingling with 'celebs', it seems B.S. that any of the other 8 kids would be interested in learning to snow board from anyone other than their dad. Seems even deeper B.S. that J. Mosely would have ANY interest in the likes of K8G. Laughable, really.

worksinproduction said...

That isn't exactly how TV contracts work. Yes, there are moral turpitude clauses and they can try to write in almost anything including what color someone's bathroom will be. However, with TLC every contract I have seen allows them to cancel any series at any time with no reason given. Networks will never sign a contract saying the show can't be canceled except on xyz terms. It isn't how the game works.

Jon signed a contract to be paid money in exchange for not taking other gigs. He could have not accepted the money from TLC and been free.

Why in the world would Khate have to have Johnny Moseley show all 8 kids how to snow board? Their father, Jon, is a very good snow boarder and skier. Not Olympic caliber, of course, but still . . . Oh wait, I forgot, her kids don't like to be with their father, unless she wants to blame their bad behavior on him. What a piece of work she is.

Jane in California said...

I know - the whole "Jonny Moseley is going to teach my kids to ski" is just Kate seeking the limelight again, and setting her sights at an Olympic gold champion. Moseley is happily married to his high school sweetheart and they have a 3 or 4 year old son together. As to Kate having a crush on him - she can try to work her lame charms, but seriously Kate - he's not interested in the likes of you.

I think the best thing that could happen in this episode is that Sarah leads Kate out into an area of bears. We can all watch as the bears rip her apart. Mind you, she is so rotten that the bears would probably spit her out. This would be the end of the b*tch from hell. This would be an educational episode to let all viewers know what it is like to live in the wild.

In all seriousness--well, I was serious... but since this can't happen, let's just watch the wicked witch make a whining fool of herself. I do watch Sarah's show and haven't watched K8 in a long time. Not sure what to do about watching this episode since I really like the show.

They ALWAYS take Jon to court as a smokescreen when something threatens to make her look bad. Jon complaining about filming and trying to go to court and get his support reduced or see the kids more is reason enough to sue him. It will take the focus off the bad mother and paint him to be a deadbeat once again. Plus, I'm sure they feel threatened he got a real job because more people will question why she does not give up chasing fame and get one as well.

With respect for your opinion, I believe it's entirely possible that TLC could be thinking about possible future legal actions (brought by the kids, Jon or even Kate) and trying to pre-cover themselves by creating a filmed record of Kate's instability.

The tantrum is vintage Kate: " I, I, I, I, I, I'm done". Not once does she say I'm sorry, my kids, you guys, what can we do to make this better. Nah, too sensible and normal. The kids must just die when she does this crap in public for all their peers to see. (Sadly, I have doubts as to whether the tups have friends.)

And why is she bitching about being cold? She us the most underdressed hooker-mom in PA! Didn't she parade around NY with her hairdresser in a mini skirt and hooker heels in 20 degree weather? Maybe she would've been happier if her fake boobs or camel toe were on display. Man, she is a mess.

And just a thought...when she and Steve disappeared for 2 days: perhaps she had to go somewhere to recover from her ordeal? I'm thinking that they may have gone to a doctor, gotten her extra strength loony pills and sedatives and then checked into a nice hotel with a full service spa so that Kate could become non-psychotic. She still looked weary and a bit off when they returned to PA.

I think we all agree that most parents would stick it out on a cold wet camping trip for the sake of the kids - I know I would. I just keep thinking how much fun Cara and Mady probably were having with Piper. They are all so close in age and the twins probably have no close friends because of their mother. They used to have Beth's daughter but no more. Also, I think one of the twins was especially fond of their cousin Bennie (Kevin's son) so she probably really enjoyed meeting Trig too. I'm sure Sarah Palin was extremely kind and patient with all the kids, teaching them lots of outdoor skills and making it fun.
Now the kids get to look back at that camping trip and say "remember when we almost had fun with the Palin family...."

If it's all about making memories for Kate - she's making the wrong kind.

Works in Production said that Jon is taking money from TLC and therefore cannot work in the media?

Not so, the first/Original contract with TLC that Jon & Kate signed was without an attorney/representative. They admitted they were so anxious to sign and receive the big money, which wasn't more than $25,000 including expenses per show or something similar. It was a new show, multiples, etc., they did so without advisement.

Jon & Kate both admitted that they made a mistake. There was a clause in that contact about Jon & Kate making decisions for their children. The children "did not" have representation nor an attorney as in the Jackie Coogan Law.

Somehow, someway that First Contract with TLC "bottled up" the entire Gosselin Family, including Jon for the entire term of the contract.

Jon closed down production when the contract was still in effect and they were in divorce status. The State of PA Permits were up for renewal at that time. Then the State of Pa Renewed the Permits for the children to continue with production. This is what Rep Murti is trying to change. Once TLC had the permits, filming continued and Jon was held to the original contract, he received money based on the Original Contract, "But" Kate was able to renegotiate her fee and the fee for the children, that was her "present from TLC" for applying for the Work Permit from the State of PA. There is "No New Contract". The children, Jon & Kate are still binded by the Original contract. So Jon gets his portion of whatever the Original Contract stated (7 or 8 thousand a show as his portion, may be less, I don't know as he also received free stuff, plus appearances) and he cannot sign another contract with anyone else pertaining to employment in the Media. Thus the "inability to work in the Media"

BUT Kate has renegotiated her involvement, her money and as separate contract, known as her Production Company (could be 2 people who write pilots, etc)this is where Twist of Kate comes in and she can speak for this.

I do not know the expiration of the Original Contract and I seriously doubt that anyone outside of the legal dept of TLC does either, including Steve the bodyguard.

Simple: Jon is being paid the same amount as he signed into in the first contract, only now divided by 10.

Reason children were put back on TV with K + 8 is because Jon lost his petition to stop production and dismiss the Original Contract.Jon lost his appeal to the Courts.

When the Original Contract expires, the children can be removed from any and all filming by TLC.

Does anyone know when that contract expires? That would be the question and answer that I would like to know.

Paul Peterson and all of his contacts cannot find out that date. So we will see those children on TV until that date arrives. The children fight it, constantly, and you see that with Mady and a couple of the tups.

TLC didn't script Kate's meltdown, but they did set her up for failure. They know Kate doesn't do outdoor stuff and she doesn't stick out a bad situation. They knew this was going to be a disaster from the get-go. That was a pretty mean thing to do. It wasn't fair to Kate, it looked like they intentionally scared her with the bear safety class. But at least she's an adult. More importantly, it was mean to the kids. They got their hopes all up thinking they were going to go camping and it didn't happen and TLC knew it wasn't going to be a good trip. It's one thing to do something like that to an adult, but it was really wrong to do it to the kids. At least the Palin kids did get a camping trip out of it, even if it wasn't exactly as planned. I wonder how much choice Kate had in this? This show stopped being reality a long time ago and now it's just setting the family up in this situation or that. And this was one they should have skipped. TLC should never have dragged either family through this ordeal.

Tami, sounds like you’re referring to something I wrote (misquoted but close). I am not a Kate fan but they tolerate me over there. I like that particular site for their positive outlook on things but I don’t agree with everything they say. What I meant by “Kate is too professional” was this is a paid job for her and she takes her job very seriously. While the posters there were empathizing with her sad plight I just wanted to remind them that Kate was being paid to take part in this campout and maybe could have risen above her discomfort. I still say TLC was trying to show Kate in a bad light, not scripted, just edited as such.

TLC officially has a new Head Mom In Charge! I watched the Little People finale last night and saw the preview for Kate's Kamp-a-palooza several times. Slamming a sandwich down like a baby? WOW! I was a bit confused that TLC showed Kate acting like, well Kate. I believe even her most vile moments have been watered down a bit so this really got me thinking, and I really do think Kates time with TLC is ending. Let me explain.

Though I will never watch Palin's Alaska, I have seen her in ads promoting the show. In one, I distinctly remember Sarah stating that in fact she is 'not a diva'.(a reference to her being accused of diva behavior by those close to her campaign for VP). So I concluded that Sarah is using her show to prove to the world that she is just a regular gal. Hmmm, if I wanted to appear to be less of a diva, who would I call? Cue the Gosselins!
As many here have said over the years, Kate is her own worst enemy. It has finally caught up with her.
The reality of 2 six year olds being expelled is bad for business! TLC has been taking flack for ruining this family, and no corporation is going to take a black eye for someone like Kate.

Due to his 'high road taking', blaming Jon is no longer accepted as an excuse, and Kate will NEVER blame herself. Her narcissism won't allow it. So her time has come. TLC will now capitalize once more, by showing the rest of the world the Kate we always saw. It is the last bit of profit that can be made off of her. Be prepared for the former employees and 'friends' of Kate to come clean about her. They will all (including TLC) speak out due to 'concern for the well being of the children'. God bless all 8 when it goes down. They are going to need an intervention when Kate implodes. Sad.

Katie, we all don't know that because it simply isn't true.I repeat -- IT IS TOTALLY FALSE. This is a rumor that made its rounds when a network showed photos of a trailer park on television and claimed that Kate grew up there. It's not true. Her parents built a campground for RVs. There was no camping in the wild, no marshmallows by the fire, no camping outside in bad weather. Kate had no reason to be there. It was built for CAMPING vehicles - for tourists on a seasonal basis.

Kate's parents bought 26 acres of land in South Londonderry Township in the 1970s. They built their home on about 6 1/2 acres. In the early 80s, they built the campground to the northeast of their home and barn, and in 1984, they expanded the campground onto the remaining acreage. In the fall of 1998, the received permission to install meters that would provide electric to the campsites, and they built wooden structures that would serve as bathhouses for the campground.

She DID NOT grow up in a trailer park. She lived in a nice home on considerable acreage and graduated from a private school.

Kate may be lots of things, but this is one rumor that seems to have taken on a life of its own. I believe Kate (gasp!) when she says she never camped in her life, other than to set up a tent in the back yard of their E-town home.

Sarah vs. Kate

The Similarities

- Both have reality shows featuring their family
- Both go on paid trips via TLC
- Both are polarizing figures… you love ‘em or you hate ‘em
- Both are always on the cell phone
- Both are non-stop talkative
- Both make up their own English vocabulary
- Both are bossy
- Both like to be center of attention
- Both enjoy the media spotlight
- Both have/had passive, quiet, submissive husband/ex-husband

Differences

- One is happily married; the other likes to bash ex-husband on TV and cling to bodyguard
- One is very close to parents, in-laws and relatives; the other – no family ties
- One used their own smarts and experience for career, the other uses kids
- One is outdoorsy, the other likes to hide indoors in a tanning bed
- One is naturally pretty, the other is competing with Barbie for most plastic body and hair.
- One speaks the truth (although many people may not agree); The other is a pathological liar.
- One is charismastic; the other has a personality of a napkin
- One enjoys engaging with the people and the community; nobody better look or talk to the other while at Target.
- One is steady, even keeled and calm, the other can throw a tantrum at the drop of a dime.
- And finally one show is doing great in ratings, the other show is slowly going down the drains.

p.s. I’m not a fan of Sarah but she is far more likeable than Kart. Have a I missed any?

How could TLC have "set her up"? She KNEW she was going camping. Did TLC call on the rain/cold gods and have them show their presence the minute Queenie arrived at the site? SHE AGREED to go, she wanted to see Alaska for all it's beauty (yah, right) She thought they were going to fleece (well at least the sheeple)
the public like "roughing" it at the Dude Ranch. Wasn't that a 5star resort? Sarah was out there, full makeup/hair/nails too! How come SHE could hack it? It's not like Kate isn't from a "cold" state. Nothing was "staged", they are finally showing what was going on all along, and NOT EDITING HER REPULSIVE behaviour. Jen and Scott, remember? They had "moral" issues regarding what they were witnessing? This was the FIRST SEASON!

What sucks about this is that the kids were probably having a great time, hanging out with other kids, something they never get to do, & Kate being as selfish & self-entitled as she is, had to pull that right out from under them. What about the fact that Kate NEVER asks the kids how THEY feel about all the filming THEY have to do all the time?? They always look miserable, exhausted, & unhappy. Do the kids say "I'm done" & poof, they leave? When the kids were vomiting, constipated, sick on the laundry room floor, did Kate stop filming? No. But Kate's little pinky toe is cold, so she packs up the kids & leaves. Selfish b*tch.

I refudiate that! At least when she gets called on it, she laughs it off. Kate wouldn't dare be criticized! When Sarah says she's going on the campaignish trail or she's speaking at a Tea Party thingy we'll know she spent too much time listening to Kate!

Can't See Sheep said...

Hippie Chick, exactly!!! I bet there are many times the kids would have liked to leave the set. Vomiting on that boat comes to mind, I bet they would have loved to have walked a way from that, but they're not allowed that choice.

k8 complains she's cold, & well, you watch this winter she'll run around half dressed or without a coat, just like she did last winter. She was wearing open toed shoes in NY the other day & it was supposed to have been cold then, but it didn't seem to bother her. Guess she always has to have something hanging out.

On top of all of it, k8 is paid well, it's not like she had to brave the camping trip for free, there was a nice big paycheck for that. Unfortunately TLC has permitted her diva behavior for so long, rather than telling her they'll dock her pay if she leaves. If anyone else behaved like that at their job they'd risk being fired. Factory workers stomping out & throwing a fit over all the repetive movement they have to do, yeah, that wouldn't fly.

In the end, k8 probably saw the kids enjoying themselves & we all know how she gets when that happens. No one is allowed to enjoy themselves when Frankenkreider the joy Nazi is around. At the rate she's going, she'll make Joan Crawford look like mother of the year.

Kate's idea of camping is pitching a tent in the back yard, no more than 25 yards from the bathroom, the coffeepot, the cell charger.

When she heard she was
going "camping" with Sarah Palin and her children, I'm assuming that Kate thought "OK. The Palins probably have a really nice back yard, plenty of soft mattresses for camping, tent heaters, and a nice house with some exotic coffee flavors within arm's reach. I can do that, and my kids won't be scared (mirror my fears) and we will all go inside for a nice hot breakfast in the morning!"

The last time Sarah Palin did a backyard tent pitch was probably when Bristol was a week old. After that, they took their kids out to explore and enjoy the nature that is Alaska.

@ Kartie Dearest - I'll add a couple more:

One believes in community service, the other believes the community should serve her.

One defends her children and tries to protect them, the other throws her children to the wolves on a regular basis.

@ Can't See Sheep - Reportedly (I didn't watch, so don't know first-hand), some of the kids begged Khate to get off that fishing boat, but she refused to have it turn around and take her sick and miserable children back to shore. Bet if she'd been the one who was puking her guts out, the boat would have turned around pronto!

JP: When the kids permits expired, then re-instated, Kate had already started a new show K8(which means she already signed a new contract with TLC) Which if consider a new show(K8), Kate signed a new contract, which will expire in feb 2012. The kids permits must have been renewed(recently, right after Jon tryed to get the kids pulled), cause Kate plans to film at Xmas & new years this year. TLC is holding Jon to the old(original) contract being Jon & Kate plus 8, different show from K8. Though I can't see how they can make the first/original contract binding, cause Jon & Kate plus 8, does not exist as a show anymore. And K8 is just Kate & kids and the kids get 15% of $250,000 and Kate gets $212,500, per show. Nothing in there says Jon, gets anything. Separate contract separate show. There must be something else in the original contract or they amended the original or Jon signed another contract in exchange for something(possible money). Money talks.

Or she may have been thinking of the type of campground that has bath houses, running water and electrical outlets. The kind for people who want to camp but still have a little comfort and convenience. I know she wasn't expecting the bear safety class or the moose meat and the rain didn't help any all. There are certainly levels of camping. Our Girl Scout camps here, for instance, have permanent tents with wooden floors, cots inside, pavilions with concrete floors and electricity and showers, toilets and running water. The girls think they're roughing it, but they're really not. I know Kate doesn't have the experience to make her think of primitive camping and I'm pretty sure she doesn't have the imagination to dream it up, either. And then the rain just made it more miserable. Camping in the rain really is a challenge. And Kate is not up for a challenge -- at least not that type.

Thanks for the link Nina. Although it's pure gossip with no way of verifying how much is true -- I will say that it's clear to me that Kate's limited set of social skills extend more to interactions with men than with women, especially strong and/or successful women. I think Kate feels a real dislike for anyone that she considers a potential threat or draw to her limelight.

I noticed this when she was doing ET interviews for DWTS. She pretended to be attentive to Kurt Warner and Rick Fox, but when she was interviewing Jennifer Gray, she had a hard time even looking her in the eye. She often rudely spoke to someone off camera, rather than to Jennifer and referred to Jennifer in the third person!

Here comes Sarah Palin, who has an enormous personality, thinks very highly of herself, and if anyone could go toe to toe with Kate, it would be Ms. Palin. I think Kate's meltdown was more about feeling extremely uncomfortable around Sarah Palin. Palin is richer than Kate, more successful, more famous, and now is swooping in to perhaps take over the TLC crown from Kate.

Someone else pointed out that the Gosselin children were actually having fun, and we all know that Kate has to put a stop to that ASAP. She has time and again spoiled their outings. I don't know why she's so hateful in that regard, but I really don't think she likes her children, and in fact, sometimes I think she goes out of her way to make their lives unhappy. (I think it's a sick way for her to feel good temporarily or something.)

Mark Burnett produces Sarah Palin's Alaska. He also produces Survivor, Apprentice and other reality shows. If Kate whined, cried and left the production set during the Alaska camping episode after just a couple hours, then I wouldn't expect to see her on one of his shows, like Celebrity Apprentice.

---------

This makes total sense why Kate didn't make it onto this upcoming season of Celebrity Apprentice. The fact that Mark Burnett is involved in both productions totally slipped my mind!

I thought it's because she was losing her celebrity status. Apparently, it's that AND her unbearable attitude.

As to the comments concerning Celebrity Apprentice:
K8 will never appear on that show. She made the mistake of being too friendly and trying to be "cutesy" with the Donald. He is usually aloof and keeps his distance from others, avoiding physical contact. When she made the move to touch his hair, he was not a happy camper. Remember the look on Melania's face? It would seem that no one invades his space except on his terms. K8 goofed again!

On one of the early episodes of CA, there was a pretty young dark-haired participant who made the mistake of winking (flirting) at him while she made her comments in the boardroom. From then on she was kept at a distance from any interaction with Trump and was shortly told "you're fired".

In my opinion, there will be no invitation to K8 to be a Celebrity Apprentice. EVER!!!

I didn't say that first part, I was just quoting someone else's post. She said she'd never been camping "for real" so she knew it wasn't a backyard campout. But I agree with you, she probably didn't have a clue who Sarah Palin is. She's not interested in anyone else or what's going on in the world. I'd be surprised if she ever picks up a newspaper or a magazine beside a fashion magazine. She doesn't have any friends to talk to who might mention something going on in the world.

Kartie Dearest, with all due respect to your opinion and I enjoyed your post, but Sarah Pahlin's husband Todd Pahlin is no Jon Gosselin and that is a recorded fact. Although I am in Jon's corner.

I guess I have to say I am not a Sarah Pahlin political fan; but, ?Todd would have kicked our dear katie's ass so hard, she would have not had to take a plane back to PA.

He has won the Iditarod Trail Sled Race 2 or 3 times, is a high seas fisherman, hunter and damn good looking man who is the force behind his wife. He runs the show and they have an amazing partnership. No, I am not a Pahlin political fan, but after 5 kids, 24 years of marriage and they both jog more miles a day than Kate does in her "make believe world of tits flapping on a highway looking for snakes and identifying the type of fantasy owners of trash thrown out on the highway" Wow, that strikes of super intelligence, I guess.

Phony Gosselin shows up with her hair extensions, mani pedi, makeup bag on wheels, coordinated outerwear, of course that special bra to make her look like she has a great set of jugs, another suitcase on wheels with the fabulous eye cream that makes her look like she saw a NY plastic surgeon. Then she throws food down and throws a hissy fit? Are you kidding me, Sarah Pahlin may talk too much, sound weird, make up her own words, but she is a naturally pretty woman, with a great figure who has respect for her husband. She had incurred Kate's jealousy of All Women. Kate cannot have a female friend.

Even Barbara Walters was intrigued with Todd Pahlin when she met him, she said she "swooned".....so I guess Kate "swooned"

I will forever feel terrible about how Jon got the "totally wrong, unbalanced end of this divorce and ended up being punished and not allowed to see his babies" it takes a cruel bitch with no blood for that, yes it does. She hates everyone including her own children.

Guess what? When you see Steve? He is being paid by TLC and therefore her hair salon appointment was also paid by TLC. He was "on the clock" and she was working "herself" with the pap people for media outlets.

Every time you see groups of pap people, they have been called by PR people.

Sidney, I totally understand what you're saying, but I'm devastated that she thinks that's an appropriate way to behave in front of her children. They must be absolutely ruined.

About Kate's behavior in Alaska? Do you think she is going for a TV Emmy????? I mean acting, she wants to be an actor after her skit on The Emmys.

Maybe that is why she is doing herself over, for a "role she is auditioning for"....what do you think?

Wow, I never saw anyone that appears to be so disliked keeping herself in front of the cameras.

She did say on some show that "I have a thick skin" well if she keeps getting that tanning, she will have the thickest leathery skin that will never recover.

Everyone who acts in movies knows that you keep yourself out of the sun. Never tan, as it gives you accented lines when the camera is close up.

Hi kate, I know you read this site, you cannot resist it. As you think women are your enemy because we a Jealous of YOU.

She is a worthless mother said...

I saw the photos of the kids, who were left alone for 2 days after the Alaska trip with 3 strangers and the kids were upset and looked abandoned.

Then Steve, the bodyguard who lives in the basement, is holding one of the little girls and carrying her.

Where is their bitch of a mother, and why isn't a family member holding that child, not a stranger, paid to be there. That is all those kids know is strangers.

Photos of Collin and Alexis with 2 new strange women at the chicken coup. Why? Why did she have these children? Why? She wanted babies? She wanted to make money off of them?

Well, now those kids are growing up, they need their parents and family members more and more. They are so aware of being left alone with each other.

Saw today, Miley Cyrus smoking some kind of bong or something. Her father issues statement saying he is disappointed in her behavior!

Well, who sent her to work when she was 10? Her father and mother. Now neither one have any control over her as she lived in her own apartment in the home, now has her own home in Calif, and she acts out? Maybe she is looking for her parent's attention.

Like what will the gosselin children do later? Look at how their little lives are discussed now, by wacko mother.

Whoever said Kate was pretty or is pretty?

She has to look a certain way at the camera to get a good angle, otherwise, she looks like she took a couple of punches to her face. No kidding.

Sarah vs. Kate

The Similarities

You forgot a couple Kartie Dearest....

One loves her children more than life.

The other doesn't know who her children are.

One would never leave her children with strangers, paid teenagers, anyone. The other only leaves her children with her family, parents, in laws, aunt/uncles/cousins.

One believes her children and ex husband are embarrassing.

The other pushes her children forward to be their own person.

One had a husband who fell apart and couldn't stay and fight her.

The other has a husband who would kick her ass if their relationship went down hill because of money.

One has done nothing but make every cent by the skin of her children's childhood.

The other has only started making money since she left the governorship and hooked up with book publishers and TLC. They relied on her govt salary and her husband's fishing business. Did quite well, as she was out there with him fishing the high seas.

One loves mani pedi tanning bikini trolling on the highway, known by her as jogging, the other runs in triathalons. My spelling might be off on this one.

One has a true sense of God and family and keeping her family together.

The other ditches her children to any person with 2 arms and 2 legs, no idea the background of the people, criminal record.

One has happy children, the other has sad, unhappy, lost little children who don't know what family is all about. They cry at night, they cry during the day. They only have each other.

Is Mady and Cara raising the tups when Kate is gone? Is that who the tups go to when they have a bad night, feel sick?

Why isn't she being investigated by the State? Why hasn't she been reported for abandonment?

Come on Jon, give it up, expose her and do it now so that she has to pay you to raise your children. Let her run wild in Hollywood, fall on her ass as they will use her and spit her out.

Of course she has been rode hard and put away wet.

Why is this Steve Neild living in her basement? This doesn't make sense. A bodyguard who lives there 24/7?

Being a mother, grandmother and widow I find so many things to like, love and enjoy about my own family AND my son-in-law's entire family (who have named me an honorary member of their family and the kids call me Grandma). I'm sorry... I am watching this as I love Sarah Palin's show...

I have to agree with everyone who is posting... we have a mom (Sarah) who tries her best to see the positive in everything, who is very 'tuned in' to her kids, her husband, extended family, and her community... then we have Kate...

Sarah does everything Kate doesn't and I was thrilled to notice that these kids who have always been nervous banshees like their mother become calm, observant, tuned in little people around all these other adults who set the example.

I'm sure Kate will ruin it, but watching Sarah interact with the kids is great... and the kids with her... The adults seem to be tolerating Kate for the sake of the kids and she seems to not care about anyone (including her kids) but herself.

And what I really have to laugh about... Kate saying "WE" are not camping people... I gotta tell ya, her kids sure look and act like camping people (EVEN MADY)... I think it's just Kate who can't find any fun or positivity in the situation.

She needs to do what we all do in stressful or times where we're doing something we'd rather not... plaster on that smile, ooze excitement, and see it through our kids' eyes till we are enjoying it for real.

Kat - Ruthie-dos.blogspot.com said...

OMG... had to post again because of what she did... how to get the kids to leave... none of them WANTED to leave... so she tells them.. "Well, okay, bye then. You're not a Gosselin anymore, you're a Palin" Then some chirp... "Okay, we'll go."

It ticks me off that she made her kids feel bad for having a good time and wanting to stay!

I just watched the episode and the "most revealing" moments (aka most confirming moments of what we already knew about Kate and the show):

1. "Are you a Palin or a Gosselin?" Those poor kids are clearly emotionally blackmailed into both doing the show and doing everything Kate's way. I can just imagine what she says, directly or implied, to them about having to "choose" between her and Jon. I was sickened that one of the tups basically "gave in" clearly out of fear that she was going to be abandoned by her mother!

2. "Are you going to stay here... really?" This is just clear evidence that everything on Kate's show is completely scripted and fake. Again, something we already knew. Although the question could have meant incredulity that anyone would actually camp, if you've just taken a plane (and not a short plane ride at that) to get to the camping site and you were told you were going camping then, YES, "really" the intention is to camp and not just do a few hours of filming to make it "seem" like you had gone camping.

I'm so glad that this show really showed Kate's true character more so than we've seen on Kate's show in recent years... especially with the "editing out" of the bad Kate moments from the early episodes.

After watching K8 on Sarah Palin's show I think I finally understand the true meaning of K8's assertion that she does everything for her kids.

What she means is that she will do everything for the kids as long as it is what she wants. In all situations, K8's needs, desires, ambitions, and wishes supersede all others.

Apparently K8 believes the needs of the One outweigh the needs of the Many especially when she is the "One".

Ok, don't know where to begin. I do have a new name for Kate: KILLJOY KATE! Kate is so full of herself, that even on Palins show, she tryed to make it: all about me. The first half hour was a bit boring. Kates screaming, like an idiot at Sarahs' father house. Her stupid comments. Kate wanting to put bug spray on her and the kids. (it was wet & 50 out, there were no bugs, nobody else complained) This is the same person, who only a couple of days ago was jogging in 40 degrees. Kate: whined, whined, complained, complained. I wanted to tell her to shut the f-up, I think some of Palins family did too. What's this crap about cruel & unusual punishment, Kate was saying. Geez, the woman does that to her kids all the time and did that to Jon. Oh, yeah, her hair now, looks the same as it did 6 months ago. That Ted, guy saw her coming. Kate must have been a whiner and complainer and a poor sport, when she was a kid. Stood around like and idiot, well of course your gonna be cold, you need to move. Then of course Kate finely admit it: She's crazy! YES! YES! The freaking out about the food, they cut most of it, except for a little of it before the commercial. An Kate should get the: Mommie Dearest of the Year award, for telling your kids: if you don't go with me, you are not Gosselins, but Palins. Then after her royal high-ass,(sorry no other word for her)left, Sarah and her dad were talking: What an HONEST MAN, got to love him. He said: "Kate, bitched from the time she got off the plane" gee, yea think Sarahs family was just a little annoyed by Kate? LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVE IT! We saw more of Kates' true colors. And hopefully opened a few more eyes, to who Kate really is: a sorry excuse for a human being & mother.

Also we didn't see her throw her food and scream "I'm hungry!" like they showed us on the preview.

Yes we did. It was just so quick if you blinked you might have missed it.

I think Purseboy was standing under the tent thing with her. Note the weird camera angles, and they never showed her from very far away or showed the whole tent.

The transformation in the kids' behavior was amazing. As someone said, they were calm and attentive when interacting with the Palins, at least what we saw on camera. It seemed odd though that Piper was so excited about meeting the 8 kids at the beginning, then when Sarah asked if she wanted to see the Gosselins to the plane Piper shrugged and said no. So I'm not sure we saw the big picture. Still, I think the kids would have been perfectly happy to stay without K8.

OK, here's my theory (snark). Kate didn't like the whole episode theme of going camping in any wilderness, much less Alaska. She
groaned at the producers, but they told her it was all set with the Palins. So, in order to let TLC know not to EVER do this kind of thing to her again, she decided to go into whine mode for the entire
episode. TLC decided to go ahead with it and broadcast it. She thought the execs would feel sorry for her and hang their heads in contrition - and Kate could show that she had the upper hand here. Instead, the execs used the footage to make a horse's behind out of her - showing exactly who has the upper hand here.

You can't fool Mother TLC.

Kate wanting to put bug spray on her and the kids. (it was wet & 50 out, there were no bugs, nobody else complained)

Alaska, even when it's that cold, is notorious for mosquitoes, but as you said, no one else was complaining or appeared to be slapping them away.

What would have been hilarious would have been for the kids to say, "Okay, we'll be Palins now." I know *I* would much rather be a Palin than a Gosselin.

I also hate the thought of camping, but K8 had to know what she was getting herself into. She should have just said no to the camping. Which makes me wonder as others have if it wasn't all a publicity stunt on K8 or TLC's part. With K8 any publicity is good publicity.

I was just reading some of the comments. Wow, this certainly did do Kate any favors. The few early articles are all negative, including the comments. I did not see one positive comment. Wait till tommorrow, when the rest report on it. Got to watch the view to hear what they say. I'm sure Sherry will stick up for Kate. Joy might not say much, but she might on her own show.

I am so glad TLC aired Kate's tantrum in its entirety instead of just editing it as much as possible. We saw it all, and it was pretty bad. If this episode proved anything, it was that Kate is a grown woman in her 30's--a mother, for Heaven's sake--who can't pull herself together and act like an adult. She has the ignorance and egomaniac attitude of a 2-year-old who has not yet learned that different people have different lifestyles/tastes (e.g. when she said "I can't believe anyone would actually CHOOSE to do this"). She bit into that hot dog like it was a boiled rat, she rolled her eyes at the Palins' home decorations, and she basically just acted as if she has no idea that people live differently than her. It's like she has no clue that there are people who don't make millions of dollars for lying and stay in posh hotels while doing it.

She has made a flat-out fool of herself after blabbering to the cameras on and on that she would "do anything for her kids". Remember when she took them "camping" in their backyard and later said "I'd do it again for my kids. I'd do anything for my kids"?

I don't know what to say anymore--I really don't. I guess it's just sad, more than anything else, that after thirty-some years of living and giving birth to eight children, this woman never learned how to conduct herself. She never learned how to put her children before herself, and she certainly never learned how to look beyond that little bubble surrounding her.

Just think of what this episode would have been like if Jon had been the one to take the kids out camping with the Palins. It would have been relaxed, easygoing, and the kids would have been free to enjoy themselves without feeling guilty about it. It's too bad, because they really are sweet kids who deserve better. Did anyone notice how when Sarah's dad asked Leah if she wanted ketchup or mustard on her hot dog, that cute little voice said "Both, please!" I know it was a minor thing, but it was so telling. This six-year-old child is capable of using her good manners and showing appreciation, while her mother can't even muster a simple smile when she has been invited as someone's guest. I guess even a million-dollar payout isn't enough for some people to be friendly and respectful.

OMGoodness, I honestly didn't know this was on tonight until I was just looking at my guide.
This show is making a BUTT of kate on this camping trip. They are filming her whining, crying, stopming around under a tent while everyone else is having fun!
This just shows how stupid she is. Nobody in their right mind would act like this in front of cameras when everything you do is already being judged.
I'm so glad I seen this on. SP is so much more of a lady than KG.

Wow..

After tonight I would say that TLC is NOT Karts friend. They showed Sarah and her brother to be so positive and loving. They cared far more for the kids experience than their mommy dearest did...she who can only think of herself..."I'm cold" "I'm miserable" ( not as miserable as we were watching you) "I'm getting bug bites" "I'm paralyzed".

Meanwhile, the children had looks of joy on their faces while Grampa took the time to show them things and get them involved.

TLC could have edited in such a way to downplay Kart's diva attitude difficulties, but they choose to show the REAL Kart. Her pissy attitude could have been edited out, but no sirry, TLC and Mark Burnett chose to let the whole world .

Kart's pouting self pitying lazy self juxtaposed with Sarah joyfully talking about enjoying the beauty of nature.

Once again Kart observing her children's life from afar. She is an unbelievably ungrateful woman.

We can only be glad that the kids got a beautiful experience out of the deal. After Kate cried "I'm hungry", Sarah's facial expression said it all.

I am truly shocked to not only see Kart not even TRY to look "professional" or at least try to present herself as a somewhat optimistic person.....but also to see how her own network not only throw her under the bus...but under the train, the steamship, the QE2, the largest battleship in our fleet...

Earth to Kart......you are never going to be respected. How DARE you throw down food presented to you by good people who are out in the rain entertaining your children.

You are a rude, selfish baby. All 8 of your kids were far more mature than you!

Oh. My. God. I have never wanted to smack someone as much as I do right now.
Kate is CRUEL. Just plain CRUEL. What an evil and despicable woman. EVIL.
She whined and moaned to the adults, but she was CRUEL to the children. Where's no other word for it other than CRUEL. In all caps.

Did you see how she treated poor Piper? That sweet wonderful girl was so excited to see this family she enjoys on tv, and Kate looks down her nose at her and snidely says "This is what you do out here? THIS is fun for you?" Piper looked like her puppy was just run over.
And then she turned her sites on her own kids. "You wanna stay here? Fine. Goodbye. You're a Palin now, not a Goselin."

This woman is just pure cold-blooded evil.

Susan said...

Krizzly's facial expressions were scarier than any grizzly could ever be..what a way to teach your kids to be a spoiled, obnoxious, pretentious and a terrible poor sport. While Sarah had a very positive attitude, Kate countered with nothing but negativity. There is something so very wrong with that woman and should be ashamed of herself but of course that is beyond her comprehension. What should have been an exciting experience for her kids was tarnished with their mother's hideous attitude. The kids were far more mature than their own mother. God help them

I wonder how long they were actually out there. It was so sad when she made the kids leave, they honestly looked like they were having fun.
I agree that Jon would have been the better choice to take them on this camping trip, they would have been able to stay and appreciate the hospitality the Palins were showing them.
HOW RUDE! She threw the food down and stomped, having a fit.

Don't love Palin, Hate Kate. said...

I couldn't like Sarah Palin less, but one has to appreciate how much more natural she is with kids than Kate. Those kids were all having a really good time it appeared and when Kate decided it was time to go, she sold it to the Palins that the KIDS wanted to leave, even though at least half of them wanted to stay. As a PP mentioned, the kids were pleasant, kind and well behaved, probably because they were being treated like people.

Kate could manage several months of hospital bed-rest for those babies, but couldn't manage a single night of moderate discomfort to give them a real experience. (and they had a lot of help, good tents, lots of food, and air-matresses, which in my view is hardly camping light.) The thing about camping is that it is a way of making amazing lifetime of memories but doesn't require you are really wealthy. Kate has no interest in activities that don't flaunt her status... and besides, there were no paps there to flaunt for.

Real Kids said...

Wow, do 8 children ever need attention, they just "melted around Phalin's Dad, Pahlin's brother who showed them how to make a map with rocks, they learned about Science and everyone of those kids, except Hannah, who felt the need to sit under the tent with Mom, but all of them were laughing, not a scream, no hitting.

Kate was starving, threw down a moose sandwich. complained endlessly about being cold, having 17 layers on and said "we are not campers'....well, her kids didn't even have gloves or hats on, they were so busy with people devoting time to them from the Pahlin family plus Pipper and Willow. Pipper did not find herself too fond of Kate.

At one point when Todd was upstream, Sarah called him an escapee from the drama and winked, he winked back.

If you did not see it, you should have see this one. Those 8 kids, except for Hannah a lot who likes to make Mommy happy, laughed, worked at putting bits of wood on the fire, helped with making smores. They were so normal and happy. Mady? Smiling as she was learning to fish as was Cara. Grandpop Pahlin was a favorite of all of the kids. Oh what this kids are missing in life.

Jon, you better get your hands on these kids and take them to where they want to be, in a normal family. They each had chores on this day camping and loved it. I know they missed you.

Kate was mean to Piper. She said to Piper, "do you really enjoy this" in a sarcastic way. Piper said "yes" and Kate said something
something wrong here".......what a thing to say to a 10 yr old that is not your family and you know what Piper looked at her like she was nuts.

Just goes to show put those 8 gosselins including the twins together with a down to earth family, no political opinions here, as this family is definitely outdoors people. Pahlin's dad taught Science for 35 years in middle school and high school. A Wealth of knowledge, he was like the Pied Piper of the Family and the kids loved him and Pahlin's brother who is also a teacher.

Those kids were wet but having fun, not over the limit laughing, but genuinely RELAXED. I never saw that.

Witchy Mom stood talking to herself under the tent.

by the way Sarah did mention that Kate's "nannies" were there also as they all headed to the boat to leave the island. This is one trip those kids will not forget and will regret not staying as all they did was go back to the Prison. Sad.

How great to see the kids loosen up, smile and have fun for a few minutes. But unfortunately, they must become serious and worried in order to make sure their mother is happy.

Kate Gosselin has ruined 8 lovely children.

Yes, I believe that something occured when Kate wanted to leave the camp and some of the kids refused and started crying, she probably shook Maty, that did it. Piper would not even walk them to the boat when they were leaving.

Bristol was there too with her little boy, but didnot want to be filmed, so the whole family was there to camp, parents, inlaws, uncle/aunt/cousin. very sad that the gosselin children got a taste of loving people who were not paid to be nice to her. Sarah did not have to have them on the show, but Sarah's Dad and brother? Excellent. Todd Pahlin did not want to be around her.

Dad Pahlin said, "she bitched from the minute she got off the lane" but did you folks see that Kate had full make up on, yess blue eye shadow, false eyelashes, no kidding. Sarah had no make up. No one wears makeup when camping.

What's the matter Kate, couldn't bring the suitcase on wheels with the makeup, the bra was on, but your ass from the back is a pretty wide view, Dear. No good angels on her.

Her head is twice the size of all of the woman there.

Yes she is rude, she was rude to the airplace pilot too.

Born a spoiled bitch, probably "didn't get everything she wanted and now she is going for the gold, even if she has to stop on her kids faces! She did.

I think Kate's main misconception about herself is that she thinks her no-nonsense, bold, outspoken, I-don't-give-a-crap attitide is endearing and is to be envied by other women.

It is NOT endearing at all, and she should be ashamed of herself for creating this nasty legacy for herself that her children have to hear about for the rest of their lives.

I would be absolutely mortified if my mother had a reputation like Kate's. I would want to run away and change my name and pretend I never heard of a Kate Gosselin in my life!

On another note, I never thought I'd say her old hairdo looked better than this scraggly stringly fake mess she has now. It is fuglier than fugly.

Mystical said...

There it was....Kate showing herself for the hideous person she is and believe me, when not in the cameras eye, she is a monster who is destroying (actually has already destroyed) her childrens' lives.

Notice: When Aiden brought her the moose hotdog, she grimaced and he said....but I didn't touch it. He assumed that was her problem...him putting his "icky dirty boy hands" on her food. I was chilled at how damaging this is going to be to those boys lives....it has already affected them.

Then: The look of outrage from Sarah and Willow, while the gentlemen was showing Kate a shotgun. Willow had her mouth gaped wide open and Sarah was ready to step-in...as she was shaking her head in shock and disbelief. I can imagine what Kate must have said to the man that we didn't hear. What we heard was bad enough....so disrespectful.

The best thing to happen to Sarah Palin---> Kate Gosselin

The worst thing to happen to Kate Gosselin ----> Sarah Palin

I haven't seen Kate and the kids on tv since they announced their divorce. She looks aged and worn and the kids look so unhappy and defeated (except for the camping scene and inside the father's garage).

As soon as she got off the plane, she said, "Wouldn't a lodge be a lot better than this" as Sarah was smiling and greeting the kids. Sarah's dad put his hand up to Kate to shut her up. I hope everyone caught this because this is the just the epitome of how ungrateful and rude Kart is.

If a sheeple defends Kate's behavior tonight, they are forever swimming in Denile River.

Kate Gosselin Makes Sarah Palin Look Good
By Aaron Goldstein on 12.13.10 @ 12:32AM

Oh my goodness!!!
I must confess that I have never watched Kate Plus Eight (nor for that matter its predecessor Jon & Kate Plus Eight.)
Now having watched the latest episode of Sarah Palin's Alaska I can see why Kate Gosselin is so reviled.
The Palins invited the Gosselins camping. A splendid time was had by all - except for Kate. While the Gosselin children enjoyed themselves helping the Palins build a campfire, fishing for salmon and eating s'mores, Kate kept to herself under a canopy complaining about the cold and rain and how people could choose to be "intentionally homeless."
Unable to grasp both the theoretical and practical concepts of camping, Kate eventually had more than she could take and announced that she and the kids were leaving. The Gosselin children, however, were quite content to stay. However, Kate put her foot down and told one of her children, "you're now a Palin, not a Gosselin."
Talk about putting your own needs ahead of those of your children.
But I'm glad Palin had Gosselin on her show because Kate Gosselin makes Sarah Palin look good.
Really good.
Now, if only Gosselin had joined the Pahlins in Haiti.

When Kate took the boy tups to Montana she had them eat chicken claws and did not have a problem with that. However she grimaced when she was offered a moose hot dog!

What burned my cookies the most was that we were shown just how excited piper became when she was told who was coming to camp with them...and then later we see and hear Kate's obnoxious exchange with that CHILD at the campsite- I wanted to reach in my tv screen and slap Kate up the side of her fat head. I am so glad the episode ended showing up the family happy around the campfire and Piper doing charades (or whatever) as I felt bad for her have had the Gosselin kids yanked off the campsite. I bet she had really been enjoying them until Kate ruined it all.

Wow! Just wow! The previews did not do this show justice. I'm not a Palin fan either but Kate made Sarah Palin look so down to earth and normal. I loved the comments from Palin's father "she bitched from the time she got off the plane" and the looks from Piper. Piper, who claimed to watch Kate's show, looked at Kate like she was a crazy woman. I loved Sarah Palin's comment at the end "we were supposed to camp with the Gosselins, instead they came for lunch on a sand bar." (or something like that) Hysterical. Kate looked BAD tonight, worse than she has in a looooooooooong time, since the Jon and Kate days. Those poor children seemed to be having fun while camping and learning about Alaska, then Kate made them leave. Even the goodbye hug between Kate and Sarah Palin looked forced, Sarah Palin looked like she didn't want that crazy woman touching her. Todd Palin was a smart guy for fishing alone. Best Palin Alaska episode ever!

Wow.! From reading here and elsewhere, this was a good one; too bad I continue to eschew all programs that contain either K8 G. or S.Palin, on principle. But hey: sounds like a real wack-a-doo time! Either this woman really IS this unpleasant and narcissistic, or, she is acting to try and garner ratings thus keeping her 15 mins going (remember: bad press is better than NO press at all philosophy) EIther way, it's pathetic. And WHY would a "bodyguard" be needed in the AK wilderness??? Grizzlies? I am certain, if the grizzlies made the mistake of getting too close to the odious smell that is K8, they would very soon realize their mistake; the shrillness of the screaming alone would pierce their tender eardrums.

Ohio Buckeye said...

Odd that K8G wants to haave such a death grip on the name "Gosselin". Technically, biologically speaking, she is not a Gosselin, but a Kreider, so I find it funny that this woman divorced the man but insists on claiming herself 'a Gosselin'.

Must be all about the lucrative branding that is associated with "Gosselin".

Clearly, this woman belongs in a textbook. Psychology 101, Chapter: Personality Disorders.

Well TLC's plan worked. Kate Gosselin has been the number one search on the web since yesterday. Their new angle is to highlight her as the "super b*tch" so people will tune into her new shows. (people LOVE drama) Everyone is following her waiting for her to fall. She won't as long as she thinks she's a star, for whatever reason. Remember she doesn't care if people like her or not.
I'd say this Sarah Palin's Alaska episode has breathed new life into the monster that is Kate Gosselin. Unfortunately she will be around as long as she's making money for TLC.

Why did she act so appalled by the thought of shooting a gun? Does she not remeber how gung-ho she was about shooting guns at that dude ranch?? This woman is out of her mind.

TLC is cutting ties with Kate. They would have never allowed this footage to air on their own network if they still thought of her as their 'star.'

Kate stole a great moment from her kids lives. How many kids get the chance to camp in the true wilderness, spend time with a nice family, and spend time with a VP nominee? Regardless of your political views, this was a moment that few have and the kids could have had great stories to share for the rest of their lives.

Your name makes me physically want to be sick.... how one person can be so rude, so loathsome, so UGLY on the inside is just to unbelievable to put into words.
For me to feel this way toward you is not in my nature but you bring it out in everyone!

I have never wished another human any harm but I am having a difficult time thinking of you otherwise.

Oh my word! Ditto to the sentiment of kate making sarah look good. Of course kate could make anyone look good.
I noticed in the car ride when it was kate and sarah in the back seat that kate looked so uncomfortable. She was eclipsed by the presense of sarah. Can-do kate made no effort to come out from under the tent. The kids, sans Hannah, didn't seem phased by this at all. They were happy to bond with adults who spoke to them kindly and affectionatly.
I do wonder if kate thought TLC would scrap her footage. Or hoped, maybe. I am so glad they didn't.

=================================

Well, it will be interesting to see if this "angle" works for them. Personally, I don't think it will. While people might tune in for drama, most people really don't like seeing kids (little kids especially) bearing the brunt of the drama, which is what happens in Kate's world.

People might have tuned in for the bickering between Jon and Kate -- but most people are turned off by a mother who berates her children, tells them they will no longer be her children if they don't obey instantly, and ruins any speck of fun they might be having.

Sure, there are some sick individuals who think this is fine (naming no names, but you know the group I'm talking about). Thankfully, those uncaring individuals are in the minority. They might still look up to Kate Gosselin and admire her (every time I have to stop and ask myself "why, why, why?"), but their group is NOT growing larger. In fact, it's just the opposite.

Talk about trying to turn a sow's ear into a silk purse! Kate is not a good person, probably never was and sadly never will be. Let us NEVER FORGET that TLC doesn't mind showcasing child labor and child abuse on their network, as long as there is a buck to be made.
