I haven't seen the commercials for these repeats...are they seriously billing them as "new episodes"??

Will there be some additional footage they didn't show before?

I can't believe TLC would be fraudulent in their advertising!

From the description given, it sounds like "The Making Of..." and "Cutting Room Floor Scraps..." and "Behind The Scenes"...to help reassure restless sheeple that the children really are DELIGHTED to be working to support their parents.

Also there are many mistakes to try to undo. They have to somehow smooth over every minute of Kate's disasterous interactions with the children. They need to re-cut, voice over, and smooth out those scenes. oh-oh! Nobody loved Katie! Do-over time!

They wont air that New York film until after any hint of summer has passed. The 103 F working conditions for the children that day were a PR mistake, and they wont air the footage until viewers are nice and cool in their own yards and living rooms and dont remember the summer heat.

Maybe the chickens all died of neglect and this new episode will be Kate getting free replacement chickens.

TLC certainly doesnt want its viewers to think that the Gosselin 8 have been spending their summer break from school WORKING non stop traveling from state to state in full on Kate + 8 production mode. Throw in a couple of 're vamped' already aired episodes to suggest that the children have been given a respite between the filming and production of episodes. When the 'reality' of it all is that TLC has been working and filming the Gosselin 8 pretty much NON STOP for months. I agree with the poster that said the episode that filmed the Gosselin 8 in the 103 temps while visiting NY , will not air until the heat of the summer season has ended .

Calling a show 'new' is something I don't like but notice many stations are doing.
Even if the show has been seen before, as long as it is in the same YEAR it is called new. As in, NEW THIS YEAR, not an original new.
I noticed this one 60 Minutes first. They had a quick 'update' at first but now they sometimes don't even have that.

Betcha the classy and motherly scene of Kate screeching "I have to pee!!" and slamming the door in Collin's face will be cut. 10 bucks. Anyone?

Oh, excuse me...Couldn't take the excitement of the "new" shows. Must have dozed off there for a second...

Chickens on the menu now? Seriously? No thanks. K8G is an odd enough bird all by herself. Won't be watching. Ever again.

I haven't been around in a while. Could anyone tell me what the ratings have been for these recent shows? I am very curious as to how many viewers she has left.

I don't watch TlC strictly because of their exploitation of families.

I don't need a recap of this show, but I bet it would go like this:

Kate screaming. Kate laughing her hyena laugh. Kate in her botox and boob glory. Kate screaming at the kids. Kate exhausted. Kate doing it all for the kids. Kate doing it all alone. Kate. Kate. Kate.
Did I get it right? lol!!

And as for the twist show? Nah, it was just a test pilot to keep her in line until TLC could strong-arm Jon. Once they did, on with the 8 little paychecks! They will only use Kate on a show when the current one ceases.

I love how Kate commented at one point in the episode that she needed to "tend to my lunchly duties" and make lunch for the kids. What exactly are lunchly duties, Kate? Certainly not anything that you would find in the dictionary. She has slammed Jon in the past for his vocab skills, and yet she is quite the pro when it comes to making up words and terms.

I feel so bad for the kids. Kate seems to get some kind of sick pleasure out of dictating rules to them just for the heck of it. It's like when she was teaching them how to use the sliding door. It wasn't like a typical mom showing her kids how to do something for their safety or whatever--it was a situation where a power-hungry dictator who loves to hear herself talk and no longer has a husband to order around has now decided to put her own children in that position. Did you see Mady's face when Kate said that Aaden was in the corner for playing with the screen door? It was very telling. It was as if the kid could see right through her mother's BS and is no longer falling for any of it.

Then Mady said "Thank you for the peanut butter and jelly, Mommy," as if it was a line that she was required to say. No enthusiasm, no emotion on her face, just a sullen and rehearsed "Thank you for the peanut butter and jelly." The kids have been pressed and squeezed into performance mode for so many years, they can barely "act it out" with their faces anymore, and that is especially evident with the twins.

It's been a while since I tuned in to this show, and now, after less than 10 minutes, I'm ready to turn off the TV and stay far away from TLC. There is absolutely no moral compass associated with that network and most of its stars. I respect the Duggar family and enjoy watching their show still, but that's about it. The way I see it, life is hard enough. Why would I want to piss myself off and get all annoyed when I have a rare opportunity to relax and watch something worthwhile? Kate doesn't deserve anyone giving her part of their free time, and that's the honest truth.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to make like Kate and go "tend to my lunchly duties"... :)

They're doing this in Australia too, but using "Premiers" instead - as in K+8 premiers tonight at 8:00. I thought Premier was the first episode ever, or the first episode of a season. Not the firs run of any given episode! It really annoys me.

Huh? What happened, while I've been away... tending to Mommy? This is crazy, and exactly how I had imagined her demise would play out. Buh-- bye... (I also sent a message to Radar weeks ago, asking them to never bring back the Kate comments section. My wish has been granted, so far.) I told them... their "server space", would thank me later.

give this a thought - do you think that K8 mangles words to imitate Rachel Ray? And, when it has it been considered a "duty" to make a meal for your kids? Who has been advising Kate that this is cute stuff? I live in PA next to the DE state line and K8 reruns-repeats have been running for some time. It reinforces how miserably Kate has treated Jon. TLC must be running close to empty in order to boost ratings OR they want some reason to dump Kate. That would be poetic justice.

Not Cute! said...

The made-up "words" are NOT cute and they aren't on R.Ray either. I wonder do either or both of them do that to appear "cute" or "young" or whatever they think is going on. If their staff read this, PLEASE STOP.
Besides, I thought some catering service did the food for them ? At least on "filming days" (which is most days, is it not?) And if they're out of state...(for whatever reason...()--well, they just eat out, right?
So : WHAT lunchly duties??!!?

BeDoneNow said...

Read somewhere that last nights shows were sanitized versions of the original - just as we suspected. Also, some kind of little pop-up balloons trying to explain what Kate was thinking or some such. Like "Kate wants to teach Aaden how to use the garden hose" or something.

I cannot stand to watch Kate interact with animals. Scares the heck out of me. No animal should ever have to be near that woman. >:-<

The funny thing isnt that she made up a word "lunchly duties" the funny thing is that when I say "wifely duties" I mean that as a wife I have to do something. So "lunchly duties" imply that she is a lunch.

Missy said...

I guess Mady forgot to add a word here - she meant to say "Thank you for the peanut butter and jelly, Mommy DEAREST".

Doglover said...

For the love of God, don't give the Gosselins animals! They took horrible care of those poor dogs. Kate doesn't even like animals; she needs to stop getting them.

Crazy Kate plus 8. Seriously, there's a pill for that and she needs it. I thought I was watching a show about an unfortunate woman with OCD. Truly sad. The kids were terrified when she was shouting at them about the hose. And the guy who came over to fix the water filtration and she wouldn't let him past a certain location in the kitchen. She is in need of psychotherapy and some good meds...it's sad.

This episode re-aired this week. I flipped back and forth a few times

- she got dirty chickens which she won't touch, yet she told her kids that the worst behaved kid had to clean out the poop drawer.

The kids still eat off paper plates.

TLC made a big deal about her "organizing" project, like she's really going to resume household maintenance chores.
