Dancing With the Stars

It's official.

Also we will not be doing recaps of DWTS episodes or of Kate's dance(s). We will have a thread for each week that Kate remains on the show.

Please keep the discussion to Kate and DWTS not the other contestants or things about the show unless they relate to Kate. You can keep talking about who to vote for in competition with Kate, but comments saying things similar to I like so and so because she's x, y, and z are too off topic. Thank you very much.

Oh will this bey-otch go AWAY already? Hey Khate, you smell that? That's you! You're well past your expiration date.
Khate's like herpes; one outbreak after another and we just can't get rid of her.
She confuses her high horse for a pedestal, either way eventually she will be knocked off of it. She's nothing but trash. But it's "all for her kids". Is her ego named "the kids" and that's what she's really referring to?? I think so.

From USA Today:

ABC's Dancing With the Stars launches its 10th season March 22. Celebrity competitors:

Buzz Aldrin, 80, astronaut

Pam Anderson, 42, actress/Playboy star

Erin Andrews, 31, ESPN reporter

Shannen Doherty, 38, actress

Kate Gosselin, 34, reality TV mom

Evan Lysacek, 24, Olympic gold medal skater

Niecy Nash, 40, Reno 911! actress

Chad Ochocinco, 32, NFL star

Jake Pavelka, 32, The Bachelor

Aiden Turner, 33, All My Children actor

Nicole Scherzinger, 31, Pussycat Doll

*****

Wow, I haven't heard of most of those people except Buzz, Shannen, Pam, and Erin. That's what they call their "best cast ever??"

And that's a problem?

Kate made it very clear last spring that what she wanted was a career in the entertainment business. She wanted Jon to stay home and take care of the kids. As long as she's providing for them, keeping them in a fancy private school, big house, nice clothes, she's being a good parent. That seems to be all the public or at least the Sheeple seem to care about anyway.

So now, one divorce later, what appears to be happening? Kate is out doing her thing and Jon is home with the kids (although probably getting a good deal of money and repairing his tarnished reputation).

In the end, I am fine with Kate being on DWTS or any other show as long as her children are not in any way involved. Unfortunately, I don't think that will be the case.

And as for Jon, I still hope that he can rise above this situation, however it looks like he tried to break free (albeit in a really stupid, immature, way IMO) and was beaten back down by TLC and Kate. So now he's in the same place he was a year ago. That's got to be disheartening. Still, many of us feel he is the better parent of the two, so let Kate go have her career and let Jon raise their children. Just remember, Jon - living well is the best revenge.

ABC network, what are you thinking? I enjoy watching Dancing with the Stars but will not watch as long as KG is in the running.

Get Ready to Vote (for anyone else!) said...

I am a big DWTS fan. Here is how voting works: there is limited number of votes from phone or online accounts, the number of votes decreases each week as there are fewer dancers. Get ready to vote FOR your favorite or AGAINST Kate - whichever suits you best. Register at abc.com for online account. I usually vote online, on four cell phones (mine, 2 kids, husband's), and on land line.

My thoughts on the cast and who may last longer in the competition:

Pamela Anderson: Blonde. Guys will vote for her just to see her bodacious ta-tas from week to week. Has danced in Las Vegas magic show. Will be around a while.

Chad Ochocinco, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver. The football players have lasted deep into the competition in the past.

Aiden Turner, actor on All My Children. Soap fans can be a rabid and fanatical voting block and can keep a not-so-great dancer on for a while. Remember when Susan Lucci was on DWTS?

Erin Andrews, blond ESPN broadcaster.

Shannen Doherty, famous "bad girl" from Charmed, 90210, many Lifetime movies. She will get votes from her long-time fans.

Buzz Aldrin, “the original moonwalker”. He graduated from West Point and was in the Air Force. He will get the military vote, and believe me, US service academy graduates are a very loyal bunch with lots of kids and grandkids! He might get lots of geriatric votes too. Whether he can dance or not, he will not be going home right away.

Niecy Nash from “Reno 911” and "Clean house". I love her, she is really funny, and she has extreme bodacious ta-tas! I will be voting for her, because she will be fun to watch!

Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussycat Dolls. She has danced in her music shows, she will probably be good.

Evan Lysacek who just won a gold medal in skating! He may win. Apolo Ohno won his season.

Kate Gosselin: the third blonde, everyone knows it's a weave, and a bad one at that. Ta-tas do NOT compare to Niecy or Pam.

There is existing fan base for soap actor Aidan, football player Chad, West Point grad/ Air Force member/ astronaut Buzz, comedienne Niecy, actresses Pam and Shannon, and Pussycat Nicole. Niecy and Pam will get votes from guys who want to see the bodacious ta-tas from week to week. NOT sure how much of a fan base an ESPN broadcaster or "reality mom" Kate has. Handsome, likable, Olympic gold-medalist Evan will get votes from tweens, grannies, moms, guys, skating fans, Olympic fans - unless someone else is truly outstanding, he WILL WIN. Apolo won his season easily.

So that's my predictions. Kate and Erin are the cannon fodder, the two who will easily go the first week or two and return for the finale to badly dance whatever they did week 1.

Concerned Mom said...

Freaking unbelievable! I can't wait to hear her explaination for being away from her kids. Oh wait, I know, "I have to provide for my kids, it's all about them". UGH. I feel so bad for the Gosselin kids, at least they have each other.

ohboyohboy

They think she will be a huge draw and are willing to accommodate her filming demands - how much will they work around her schedule?

Interestingly, there is an early episode of J&K+8 that remains unaired. It's called "Get Rhythm" and here's the episode summary:

"Jon and Kate take ballroom-dancing classes when Jon gets the idea that it will help Kate learn to enjoy dancing as much as he does."

A second synopsis says:

"According to both Jon and Kate, Kate can't dance at all because she has no rhythm. But Jon loves to dance and decides that he wants them to take ballroom dancing classes. How will Kate do? Will she give up immediately or will she stick it out for Jon?

And a 3rd:
"Jon wants to take ballroom-dancing classes, but Kate has no rhythm"

As far as I can tell this has never aired, and I believe this is the only unaired episode. Why in the height of their season 3/4 fame would they not show it?

At any rate I'll be sure to youtube it for ya on noh84kate.

Jane in California said...

This is asked in all seriousness, because I'm really wondering: How long can Kate drag out her 15 minutes of fame, considering that she has no real talent, no warmth or sparkling personality, and is just a facade with no substance (or nothing but ugly) underneath?

I keep thinking she'll fade away, but like a wart, she keeps popping back up.

I can't imagine that she'd win a viewing audience over by being on DWTS. Is she supposed to be the contestant that we "love to hate"?

I just think this will backfire on DWTS a bit -- most people who watch do so because we're real fans. I love the dancing, but I also love to see people who aren't dancers struggle to learn, improve, often surprising me with their natural grace on the dance floor and their charm. Kate won't put forth real effort to learn to dance, she's not charming or funny, she's unnatural in her movements, and completely ungracious in her manner.

How unlikable can she get before finally she runs out of steam and fades away? It can't be soon enough for me!

I just saw Anderson Cooper on CNN tonight and his co-host announced that Kate was going to be on DWTS. His shook his head and announced that he was going to pass "this time...I have to draw the line somewhere". His co-host said that he had to watch, it was going to be like a train wreck. He again said, "No, I am not going to watch this time. I don't get them."

Holy cow! Go Anderson! I took that he was a fan that always watched but because of Kate he was going to boycott this season. Great News!

Also, saw Kate on Jimmy Kimmel tonight. I always thought that Kate never had any plastic surgery done UNTIL tonight. I swear it looks like she had a chin implant. I think that is why she has been in LA for over a week. She said that she has only been practicing for the past three days. Carol Burnett had hers done in a dentist chair setting. They make a small slit in your mouth and put the implant in. It is no big deal.

I would not miss this failure for the world, she may get symathy votes from the people who do not know her circumstances.
For those not going to watch, think a minute, we can do our best to vote for all the other people other than Kate. We have a certain following here.
Now I temper this with I know I cannot tell people to vote but am just stating my opinion.
The World Has Gone Mad My Friends!!!
You can bet your sweet lives that the kids will be at reahearsal and in front row watching Kate at some point or other, most probably the first night. And as they cut to the kids Kate will have tears in her eyes and go hug the kids, for what better p.r. could she have.
If anyone has gravol, please pass it I may throw up!!

Kate's appearance on Jimmy Kimmell is a perfect example of her inability to be spontaneous or fun. She is stiff and unable to hold a conversation. Though Jimmy tried to make some jokes about the kids and the voting process (getting them each a cell phone) , she was unable to come up with a single , simple retort.

Usually diplomatic AC was adamant that he would not be watching mean mommy on DWTS, when asked last night. I highly respect his opinion and was glad to see that he and maybe he alone in the media has done his research and closed the door on that subject.

I wish I had seen Jimmy Kimmel last night--knew the boobs would be back in town as soon as she got out of PA.

And she used to pretend to be oh so modest when she was utilizing the churches on the "realest reality TV show." She couldn't dump them fast enough when she no longer needed them just like always and out popped mommy dearest in all her hooker glory.

I need one of those oh so perfect vomitus basins (that she once stroked lovingly) that the kids had to carry around with them so they would need no assistance or comfort/reassurance when they had to do the dirty deed from eating the salmon-ella that mean mommy dished out for them.

Ohio Buckeye said...

Funny, she was never willing to participate in ANYTHING physical with her husband and kids, citing how NEEDED she was on the homefront, and, so, ever-so-righteously abstained from all things physical so as not to risk injury that might prevent her caring for those beloved 8, count 'em, 8 kids.

Uh huh, sure, K8. You high road taker, you.

Since Kate "needs" to stay close to home during DWTS maybe they should bring the show to her!! All the contestants could live in Kate's house (just like Big Brother}.

dee has had enough... said...

As much as I DON'T want to see her on dwts, I'm thinking it might be interesting on the Live broadcast nights. Remember, she's not a people person and not very nice. She needs her handlers close constantly when out in public to control her. I don't think they are going to let Stevie boy out on the dance floor when she's getting her critique from the judges. Might be nice to see her flip her lid and show her real colors on live tv. Either way, she's not going to be around long 1-3 weeks is all I give her.

vanfox23 said...

I've never been a fan of DWTS and I'm glad. There is no way I could sit through it this season. It's bad enough to put Kate on there, but Pam Anderson? It might be interesting to see how she moves all that plastic around. Buzz Aldrin? Will he pull a repeat performance of Marie Osmond by collapsing on the dance floor? Shannon Doherty..she'll just knock the judges out that give her bad scores. Chad 85? WHAT EVER to that one. Maybe if he wins, he'll change his name to honor the dance, Chad Mambo or better yet, Chad Flamenco. It's ridiculous what these people can get away with because the general population allows it.

KATE---GO BE A MOM. YOUR CHILDREN DESERVE BETTER THAN YOU.

I just sent a scathing email to ABC for having the KG on their show, which I stated "had" been one of my favorite shows and that the last season when Donny won I thought was one of their best yet, and to follow that up with the biggest fame greedy child exploiter person that KG is was unbelivable to me. And also told them I hope they were prepared for all the diva attitude they should expect and that I hoped TLC hadn't paid off the judges to go easy on her. I also told them I would be turning my channel this season which I will. I am not watching that mess, that is just what TLC wants us to do.

From what Kate said on Jimmy Kimmel, ABC really went out of their way to accomodate her. I wonder who her partner is though - someone not too soft.

On Kimmel, Kate said she requested one dance partner and they said he was to soft or quiet for her. I bet that was Tony. The partner she has is really positive even when she really screws so I don't think it is Maks.

She said she is out in LA right now for three three days and then she is going to go back to Pennsylvania. Her partner is coming with her, they are going to clear out her basement and set up studio down there for her to use practice in when her kids are asleep at night. During the day when they are at school she will practice at a local studio and just fly back and forth every week for the show days.

So Jon complained that kate was out having "a career", while he was stuck home "wiping hineys".

It seems they are back to square one, except maybe this time Jon is being paid to stay home.

I hope Kate stops pulling the single mom card. Jon is home parenting, while she gets to pursure her interests.

Oh Jon and Kate. For Pete's sake, please get a regular job near your kids already. You keep yapping that you need to support them, so get to it. Working across the country or in another state is not acceptable with all those troubled children at home. You are doing no one a favor by bringing 8 unhappy, unhealthy, unproductive people into this world. The two of you have already been a huge waste.

She doesn't have the energy for own children, how can she have the energy to dance like a star? She won't make it long and I won't be watching anyway. She can't handle the extreme dancing and pressures.
Poor kids probably have no idea who their parent is. How long will she be away from her children while she makes a fool of herself? At least we know she won't trip b/c she is used to wearing hooker heels at the Target.

Laurie said...

OK, TLC threw her name in the ring back when she was on 10 at 10 and DWTS took the bait. TLC knows that people are sick and tired of her and are trying to build a new image to capture a new audience hence the new hair. Bad Kate was associated with the bad short hair. The new and improved Kate has the long flowing locks (I just threw up a little in my mouth). TLC is hoping that her new audience won't recognize the creature from the tabloids when they see her on DWTS. That's why TLC is holding off on her new show, they want to see if there will be an audience. I don't normally watch DWTS (and won't now), but I will tune in at the very end to get the phone numbers so I can pick someone else to vote for.

Kelley said...

For the love of God! I thought this tramp had finally gone away, but nooooo! When is she going to stay home and take care of her kids? There is absolutely nothing interesting about this woman. Lillie Mae Acres said...

Lucky for me I don't watch DWTS, so I won't have to see her face and those horse legs flapping around. Out of all the "real" stars they could have chosen, why put someone on that causes so much negative attention? That's it, you know the ratings will go way up. They are using her!

Shari said...

Thought I'd share my Facebook status with you all today......

The word 'Stars' automatically disqualifies Kate Gosselin from the 'Dancing With The Stars' lineup. Might I recommend she apply at Sea World.....I hear there's an opening for a trainer for Tilly......Final show title: "Kate got Ate." (And the world rejoiced.)

Isn't it funny that whatever Jon does, people say he shouldn't for the sake of the kids? Technically speaking, DWTS isn't a sporting competition, but it sure has the injuries and physical training usually associated with one.

There's a local sportstalk host who closes out his show with the quote, "Sports don't build character; they reveal it."

A lot more people are going to be discovering Kate's true colors, and they won't be finding a pretty palette.

BarbMae said...

I hate to say it but I don't think that Kate will be the first one voted off. I think she will linger for the first couple of shows. I wonder if all 8 faces will be in the audience on her premiere night. If they are Kate will get the "cuteness kid" vote. All those cute little faces cheering for Mom.... So, Jon is right back to where he was a year ago, a stay-at-home Dad with his tail between his legs. Lets see, Kate has a new book coming out, DWTS (national t.v. exposure), media appearances.. exactly where she wanted to be a year ago. All that torture we had to endure with these two morons for a year makes me sick. Will I watch... sure.... but IMO she isn't going to fail as bad as we want her too. Too bad. Remember Sheeple are still out there. I still pity the 8 little faces.

As someone who is a television professional, I can tell you there is one thing, and ONLY one thing the network suits understand, and that's ratings points. You can take a good guy, who is more or less universally well liked( Conan O'Brian), and if he doesn't pull the ratings, he gets the Ol' Spanish Archer. Whereas someone like Kate, who is more or less universally loathed at this point, and people will continue to tune in. Just reading the above posts, the people who hate her are going to tune in hopes that she fails. Whether or not she fails doesn't matter, the networks win because you're watching and will continue to put her on TV. You want to make a statement? Tune out, don't watch and get your friends to do the same. A drop in ratings is ONLY THING the suits will understand. As an aside, the fact that Buzz Aldrin, someone I've respected and admired my entire life, is doing this show, disappoints me deeply.

Any bets on how long she lasts before she gets injured? There are always several injuries, & I just have a feeling she's going to be one of them this season. I'll put up a gallon of organic milk & half an organic cow on it. And you know no matter how small the injury is, she's going to blow it out of proportion & use it as a platform to whine about how she can't take care of her EIGHT! kids now. Funny how throughout the show she declined to participate in activities (skating, etc) with the kids because she was oh-so-scared she'd get hurt.

I keep reading periodically that TLC has her in mind for a future series.

Being on DWTS would give her more visibility and hopefully attract more fans to a future show.

Let's hope she falls flat on her face - in every sense of the word.

Get Ready To Vote, regarding Erin Andrews...I never watch DWTS (in fact I hate most reality TV and only got hooked on watching J&K because of the trainwreck factor) but I am a fanatic Florida Gator fan (my daughter is currently a student and we've been football season ticket holders since we were students there in the early 80s) and FYI Erin was a Dazzler when she was a UF student, i.e. the dance team that performs at basketball games. I think she will have a loyal following and perform quite well as a dancer, since she does have that in her background.

I won't watch the show just for Erin, but I know a lot that do watch it and will vote for her just like they did for Emmitt Smith. My mother will be one, in fact I emailed her this morning to offer my condolances on that horrible Gosselin woman invading her show! ;-)

I think it is great she is on this. It keeps her kids off of TV, although I do think they'll do some scenes of her practicing in her house with her kids running around. It will keep her away from her kids and hopefully Jon will step up. I also think it is great that she will finally have to work hard and will see that most celebrities work very, very hard at what they do.

I dislike her intensely but don't have any problem with her being on this show.

I have never been a fan of DWTS but I will watch this season to see her do badly. This will bring me back to earlier seasons when I'd watch JK+8 because I disliked her so much. Then it got too sad and exploitative and I stopped watching.

I really, really, really cannot deal with this anymore. It is so darned discouraging that this horrible woman keeps getting things handed to her left and right and she gets everything she wants on the backs of her children. She does nothing nice for anyone. She doesn't donate to charity, she never showed gratitude to the many people who assisted her when she first had the tups, she is not very kind to her children, yet now she's getting something else she wanted; DWTS!!

Where is the Karma? Seriously, isn't "What goes around comes around?" So why hasn't anything come around to her. Not that I'm wishing any bad on her, I just think it's time Kate gets payback for the lousy way she treats people. I just want her to go away.

I pretty much agree with your assessment of the competitors on DWTS, except for Erin. She was a dance squad member in college, so she has some experience in both dance and competition. I don't think she'll be cannon fodder. I do think Evan Lysacek will win it. He's a class act all the way, especially with the way he handled himself over Plushenko's protracted hissy fit after not winning the gold. It's going to be interesting to see how Khate gets along with a bitch on wheels like Shannon Doherty and a super-diva like Chad Ochocinco. I wonder how long it'll take Khate to start whining about how much time she has to spend rehearsing and how exhausting it all is and how she can't stand to be away from her children. My guess is she'll either be the first or the second one voted off. I won't be watching, though. I've never been much of a fan of DWTS.

I can only hope that Shannon Dogherty (sp?) will make Kate's stay there miserable. From her reputation, SD loves to mix it up and I think Kate will be just the person to push her buttons.

I saw Khate and her dance partner on GMA this morning, and in all seriousness, she is a terrible interview. George Stephanopolous was very professional, and didn't appear to fawn all over her. However, her vernacular is so riddled with "ums" and "like," it is quite painful to listen to her. She has absolutely zero personality, and does seem uncomfortable in front of the camera. I can't imagine how she'll do on live tv (I believe DWTS is filmed live), in front of a live audience. Previously, she has had complete control of footage, ensuring that she is portrayed in a way that she considers flattering to her...won't be the case on DWTS. I don't think she realizes how out of her league she is on this one.

As soon as I saw that it is official Kate will be on DWTS, the first thing I did was pop over to GWOP!! Whatever happened to her line she always used whenever physical activity was a "plot" on the show and she was a complete klutz (ice skating anyone?) "I live in fear of injury, Im so scared I will be out of commission with an injury". I know I probably didn't get it exactly, but wouldn't getting injured be more of a concern now that you are a SINGLE mom?? Oh no, that's right, another opportunity to get in the spotlight. She'll probably say all the kids "took a vote", and we all know how manipulated by Kate those "votes" are. The kids not realizing that they will again be abandoned for weeks on end. AARGH!!!!

No question about it, people watch Kate Gosselin NOT because they like her, they watch her to see what the next ridiculous/obnoxious thing is that she will do. People watch her ( and that = ratings ) because they are dying to see her fail....to get what she deserves.

To.Get.What.She.Deserves

And she WILL get it, sooner or later. I think this DWTS gig just may be the final nail in the coffin. It will be blatantly apparent there is nothing celeb-worthy of this woman and people will have finally had their fill.

I think her appearance on DWTS will kill her reality show. She became famous for being a major screeching shew and she's tried hard to shed that persona....to her own demise. Folks aren't intrigued by nicey nicey Kate. It's too fake and too stiff and leaves a taste in your mouth that the entire time she is on the air, it is KILLING her to be sweet and chummy. You can almost see the devil in her clawing to get out.

Bwahahahahah

The ladies on The View were talking about the cast line up for DWTS...

Barbara says, "Kate Gosselin? Is it not enough that she has eight kids?"

Joy Behar says, "Kids can raise themselves these days...let them go forage in the woods for food".

Sherri says, "Ah, just leave some food out for them, they'll be ok".

They were totally dissing Kate and insinuating that she is neglecting the kids for this.

Elisabeth, though, defended Kate saying a single mother has to do what she has to do to take care of the kids...blah blah

grannyoftwo said...

so I have the answers why and how..Kate is being paid 200,000 just for being on DWTS and another 100,000 if she wins(not in my lifetime) and she is building a dance studio on the bottom level of her home so that when the kids are at school she can fly her partner in and they will practice and she will go there on the weekends to practice. All this for the kids....wow

grannyoftwo said...

we all know that TLC is building that dance studio in the home and they are probably filming the whole thing for a future show as well as making deals with ABC to shoot footage of the practices for future shows....Kate is not footing that bill..they are probably footing the bill to fly her partner to her home, and will we hear of an affair brewing between the two like every other season of DWTS. There has been one every season that I can think of. I hope she gets teamed with Mark's Dad, that would be a hoot....though I will still not be watching. I certainly hope she doesn't get anyone like Mark, Derrick, or Max. Give her Tony or Mark's Dad. That would be the ticket.

Of all the accomplished cast members have you all noticed that since the lineup announcement, the media is already focusing on Kate as the centerpeice of the show. On all the internet news links I have seen it either has her picture prominently featured or mentions her directly in the headline. For example from fox news: "Astronaut Buzz Aldrin to Dance With the Stars ... With Kate Gosselin". Also, on the radio I have heard several reports saying things like "reality supermom Kate Goesslin and others to join DWTS". Someone definitely believes she is headliner material for what ever reason. I just do not get it!

I am envious of Kate because I am a huge fan of the space program and she gets to meet a legendary and reclusive historical figure in Buzz Aldrin. Hopefully their initial back stage conversation will not go something like this:
Kate-Who are you again?
Buzz-I'm Buzz Aldrin, I walked on the moon.
Kate-You are considered a celebrity for doing that?!?, please,I have eight kids and a former #1 rated reality show that made me a household name. Now, I need you to go bring me a bottled water and tell that makeup girl I need to see her again...this is not the hue of eye liner I requested!! (yells after him as he slouches away)Oh..and tell that figure skater guy who keeps flashing that olympic gold medal around...no one is impressed...I should get a gold medal for raising eight kids!!!

ROL claims Kate insists on putting her kids first. Hmmm... She should've started way back when she had those twins and insisted on trying for one more. Her strategy for having one more was odd: having unprotected sex against doctor's advice while her ovaries were overstimulated. This resulted in those poor tups, who have been circus freaks their entire lives, and the ruin of twins' lives forever. Instead of having two happy healthy kids, she now has eight neglected unhappy children who have been made well aware that they are a huge financial burden on their parents. Nice guilt trip to place in them since it's not their fault that they're here. Yep, all for the kids, Kate. And thanks for giving Octomom the inspiration to do the same.

Dear Tony Dovolani,

So you were the lucky one to be partnered with Kate Gosselin. I'm so sorry you drew the shortest straw.

Please allow me to offer you some words of advice to help you get through these ( hopefully only one or two ) weeks with supermom.

#1...Please don't chew gum.

#2...PLEASE save any receipts you collect during your time in PA. If you loose your receipts, God help you.

#3...Take your shoes off in Kate's house. Only Kate is allowed to wear shoes inside.

#4....Hope you like grapes, crackers and string cheese on a paper plate.

#5....When you travel to and fro, from PA and LA and back again, please ask what side of the bed Kate woke up on before heading to the airport. Some days you will be required to walk ahead of her, some days you will be ordered to walk behind her.

#6...If you see and kitchen spatulas or wooden spoons lying nearby, hide them!

#7...If you get hurt during rehearsals, whatever you do, DON'T BLEED!

#8....Last but not least, please don't let Kate drag you to the bus stop with her to pick up the kids.
She will clearly be using you for a photo op, and your lovely wife and children back home won't appreciate seeing you playing "Are you gonna be my new daddy" in the tabloids.

I'm a long time lurker who really enjoys this site. Feeling sick today, I sat down on the couch and turned on the tv. It was on ABC, so the View came on and they were discussing the newest cast of Dancing with the Stars!

Barbara Walters said, while trying to figure out why an astronaut of Buzz Aldrin's standing would do the show, that the "stars" get paid $200,000 to appear on the show plus the winner gets an additional $100,000.

I can't believe Khate will get that kind of money to appear! Obviously (to us - but not to her) she won't be getting the winner's check. Isn't it bad enough that she'll be getting more air time?

Several of the panel members of the View kept saying "But what about the eight children? Doesn't she have eight children?" The young, blonde conservative one jumped to Khate's defense and said "Mothers have to work, mothers have to provide for their children," etc., etc. Joy Behar dissed Khate and said, "Well, hey children can raise themselves" etc.

Barbara Walters then dropped the big bomb: "Khate plans to build a studio on the first floor of her home where she will work while the children are in school. She will fly to LA on the weekends." No mention of Jon.

I am just trying to figure out how the woman who sat in a white plastic lawn chair all day and couldn't be bothered to get up to play with her kids thinks she can possibly practice dancing all day? I suppose it was the thought of being able to try to dance in high spikey heels and a teeny sexy outfit plus that big fat check that convinced her to sign on.

But for the life of me I can't imagine what made the Dancing with the Stars producers sign up a woman with no natural grace and no stamina and a limited fan base. Guess they must be getting desperate!

tic tac toe said...

I can already see how this is going to go down:
She is going to practice at home in basement- kids will undoubtedly be included in montage footage that they do regarding the dancers and their training. Inclusive in that footage will be Kate "mock" abusing tony, probably telling him that he breathes to loud. TLC is going to obviously try to remake her image, and this attempt will be a "look she doesn't take herself seriously- she's just regular old common folk" mixed with that "super mom" determination to succeed for all the american moms out there. She will get voted off early due to her own professed lack of dance ability (via GMA this morning) and the media blitz will begin with the whole "look I can laugh at myself". This is nothing but an image softening campaign. Sad this will fly due to the sluggish mentality of many american's they won't see this and will buy into it. Then Kate 2.0 will resurface with yet another TV show (the New and Improved- yeah that's a contradiction when it comes to her). Unfortunately the PR machine backed by $$ from TLC is not going to slow this one down. The proof in the pudding on this lady is probably sadly only going to be revealed, unfortunately, when one or several of the kids writes a tell all book in the next 15 to 20 yrs.......sad sad sad

Laurie said...

Why would the media jump all over her? She's doing it for the kids and will be practicing at home (OK I'm done channeling a sheeple - slap me if I do it again). If, and that's a big IF, she stays on the show longer than a couple/three weeks she will be very "jelus" of what the other "stars" are getting and move her base of operations to LA (if she hasn't already done so). After all, why should she go home and be responsible for the kids every night when the other "stars" are getting the star treatment in a luxury hotel. Mark my words, she will be too "exhausted" to keep up the schedule of criss-crossing the country twice a week. The media will never jump on her because "someone has to earn a living" in this family.

They practice like 5 days a week, and then are on the air the other 2 days.

She is NEVER going to see her kids, but I guess she's doing this for them too.....
___________________________
It appears as if she will still probably be around for her kids during training. DWTS is fufulling her request to practice her routines in PA so she can stay at home and be with the kids for the most part:
"Kate's new gig will not keep her away from her children. RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that the supermom of 8 likely will do most of her practicing near her Pennsylvania home because she insisted on putting her children first. The show was willing to accommodate her because they believe she'll be a huge draw, a network source told RadarOnline.com".

Her pro dance partner will be training her somewhere very close to her home it looks like and she can be with the kids before and after. I am also guessing she will bring the kids to LA once the competition starts so they can cheer her on in the audience and enjoy being on camera again.

I just best Jon is absolutely GREEN with envy over this one. Wasn't he rumored to be a contestant at one point and loves to dance?? Plus, Kate gets national PRIME TIME media attention and exposure (and possibly international also? Not sure if DWTS is seen outside the states)
while he only still gets the occassional paparazzi shot of him walking out of a starbucks in Aspen.

Teryn said...

Is the rehearsing at home because she is really putting her kids first? Or a masterminded opportunity to film the kids and have them back on tv?

You know, seeing the kids running around while mommy gets it on in the basement? Seeing Kate picking up the kids from the bus stop between practice? Kate ( and Tony ) slapping food on plates for the kids and then dancing while the kids eat? Tony waltzing with Leah, doing the samba with Maddy, twirling Hannah, teaching the little boys some moves....it's all a brilliant strategy to get votes for Kate.

I think she chose to rehearse at home simply to have a chance to have the kids filmed...to remind people why she became famous. She knows people liked the show because of the kids...not her.

I'm happy about one thing: Kate is paired with Tony Dovolani, who seems to get stuck with all the middle to upper age women. Not the young, hot ones! LOL So Kate was probably hoping for Maks (she commented somewhere that she "suggested" one partner) or Derek or at least one of the young guys. Hopefully, this will knock her down a notch. I really do like Tony, and I think he has a following, but he is not the "hot ticket" partner. I hate to see him go early, but I think and hope he will because of Kate.

Kate is on the gravy train here once again. TLC or ABC is footing the bill for building her very own dance studio in her basement. Of course, they'll be catering meals for the family since Kate will be too tired to do any cooking. Maybe they'll even arrange to have her kids driven by limo to/from the bus stop. It never ends.

I agree the kids will be making "cute" appearances in the basement dance studio, probably flying out a time or two to CA to the actual show. Let's pimp the kids out to get more votes and show what a dedicated mom Kate is. Gag.

gherkin said...

I agree Tony is a good partner for Kate and probably not the one she wanted. Ha! He is happily married with 3 little children (his wife just had twins about a year ago and there is another little one). So, at least we know there will be no hanky panky going on---for real or even just to flatter Kate's ego. Tony even mentioned his wife in the GMA interview this morning.

I'm sure Kate was hoping for Derek or one of the younger, single guys so then she could bat her eyelashes and there would be a lot of sexual innuendo.

I'm looking forward to making fun of her week after week. Hope it lasts a little while at least.

Kate is a wretch said...

I know others have said this...but it bears repeating...the ONLY way that wretched excuse for a human Kate Gosselin is going to go away is if there are NO viewers. TLC is about money and only money...they could care less about families or children caught in the cross fire of their quest for the dollar. They are making money off of the wretch and will continue to do so until people stop watching. If DWTS gets DISMAL ratings whenever she is on screen...then maybe just maybe other network shows willing to gamble on her money making pimp attempts will say no. People are clearly getting sick of her...but the old adage goes..bad news is good news...I will NOT watch ANY show or newscast that has that wretched excuse for a human on their show.

ABC showed video of her in a kitchen with her kids. A man was present but I didn't see who it was - her chef?

I thought she was exclusively contracted to TLC? What happened to that new show?

What does ABC pay these so-called celebrities for DWTS?

Also - US Today has an article in the entertainment section.

Also, it seems pretty clear to me that the kids will be filmed for the 'behind the scenes' component of the show, and I have no interest in contributing to their further exploitation.

She had a hard time sitting still - nerves? You could see her feet must have been moving, tapping, something all the while. She had to keep hold of her hands to hold them fairly still.

Sadly, the audience clapped for her.

She was in the same dress as the TMZ clip where she and Steve hustled by the paps without a second glance. I notice in the TMZ clip that other contestants stopped for a minute or two to chat, be polite, answer a few questions. But not Kate. She also seemed to be the only one with a body guard. The others were alone, or in the case of Niecy Nash, with a significant other.

Let's get REAL. Kate Gosselin was NEVER, ever prior to her commitment to appear on DWTS, a 'hands on' parent. I dont believe for one minute that the addition of a dance 'studio' in the Gosselin basement will in ANY way accomodate Kate's ability to manage her motherly duties! All one has to do is review any episode of J & K + 8 to see that even the most routine of parenting duties were allocated to the 'part time' helper, family 'friend', nanny,TLC 'crew', or Jon. Kate couldnt even break herself away from cleaning a fridge to wipe her own kid's butt! My guess is that the Gosselin nanny(ies) will be on 24/7 lock down duty and the Gosselin children ORDERED forbidden or subject to 'severe penalty' if they even remotely distract mommy while she is practicing her dance routine in the 'basement'!

Protect8 said...

I agree with others that DWTS is another attempt to improve, soften, and make palatable the brand "Kate Gosselin." On Jimmy Kimmel last night, and on GMA this morning, Kate obviously has received coaching on how to be more demure, smile and refrain from that horrible cackle which I don't think she emitted once on either show. I suppose the question is: How long can Kate maintain this facade?

What we see over and over with celebrities and reality actors is that once their fling with fame is over and people aren't interested in them anymore, their networks, agents, publicists drop them. Then at some point, desperate to be back in the spotlight, they write a book about the tragedy of their childhood (abuse or molestation), their abusive spouse, their drug problem, their anorexia and so on. This puts them in the spotlight for another second.

I predict Kate will be on a "confessional" interview tour in a couple of years, coming up with some excuse as to why she was so unlikeable, particularly if she is has been caught again hitting her kids. And then hopefully, we are done with her until one of her children writes a book about growing up Gosselin.

There has always been one *duck* in the pond who can't swim on Dancing with the Stars and they have been put on the show for the laugh factor. Kate is this duck and she is too stupid to realise this.
Regarding not watching because of pushing up ratings this does not apply as people could be tuning in for their favourites other than Kate. The ratings will not show it was because of one person.
Aiden is a British hottie and Evan has excellent performance skills on ice. Remember ice skaters do floor training for moves etc. I know this because my daughter was a skater. So he will bring drama to the latin dances.
So if you are not watching a show you usually watch because of Kate no one will know, it could be because of one of the others you do not like. Only the votes will tell this and I am voting as much as I can for all the others. This is the least we can do to get this moron off the show.
Maybe THIS was the show T.L.C. had in mind for Kate because you can bet your bottom dollar that they will be filming the rehearsals, kids reactions (now that Jon has caved) ad nauseum!!

CONSPIRACY THEORY ALERT: My hunch is that with all of the DWTS advertising and media hype already focusing on Kate and making her the primary focal point of the show that she will definitely WIN. I foresee TLC handsomely compensating ABC behind the scenes to assure Kate is the winner. This entitles TLC to launch, market and advertise their new spring show as starring supermom and DWTS champion Kate Goesslin. A win/win for both networks as the ratings will fly whenever the Mom ya love to hate, Ms. Goesslin, is on the screen for either network. Do not be suprised to see it happen!

I think this should be the strategy re: DWTS -

If you have been a long time fan, keep watching and simply vote for someone else.

If you don't watch the show, don't start now simply because Kate is on and you want to vote her off. As someone said earlier, any increase in ratings sends ABC and other stations the message to put Kate on because she's a ratings draw.

Again, let her prove that she can become a media personality in her own right and not by involving her kids. If she can, more power to her.

Is Kate becoming the Joan Collins/Alexis Carrington of the 2000's, i.e. the woman America loves to hate? Is that really a role she wants to cultivate?

People are going to tune in to see her,so trying to drop ratings is hard. What can be done is to vote for the underdog or the worst person in the competition.

I think she was choosen to be the goof or clown contestant.

Listen to the interview with Jimmy. She explains with lots of flapping of the arms that she will practice somewhere in PA while the kids are in school and then in her house while the kids are sleeping. It sounded so fake and rehersed.

I think the practice at home is to get foortage of the kids accidentally interupting the rehersal. Its just another way to remind us who she is and why she is special.

I won't stop watching DWTS because of Kate. In all honesty, not a lot of people on that show have immaculate track records. Especially this season. Pam Anderson -- sex tape. Shannon Dougherty -- trouble with the law. The list goes on and on. It's never been a show with scandal-free stars before. Why start now? If people think Kate Gosselin is the worst person on that show, perhaps they should read up on the other celebs. I'm not a Kate fan, but she isn't the most infamous person on that show. Actually, I don't even think she's infamous. She just is. Do people really care about her anymore since the show is off the air? I guess so, or else this blog wouldn't exist :)

I hope Katie realises that taping a show at her home where she can squeal and control everyone is vastly different to taping a production such as DWTS.

Why is DWTS acomodating this woman??? Do they install/pay for private in- homedance studios for all their contestants? Are they feeling pity for her because she told them she is a struggling single mom?? So she gets a free studio to increase the value of her mansion as well as the fee for being on the show? I am also assuming that she is being comped for travel and lodging when going to LA as well. Un frickin believable...

TMZ Breaking News On Twitter

Supermom Kate Gosselin will practice her dance moves for "Dancing with the Stars" one flight below her brood -- in the basement.
Kate says she'll be practicing her moves in a newly-converted state of the art dance studio in the basement of her home -- "so she can be close to her kids". And a source tells us "Dancing with the Stars" is footing the bill for the makeshift studio.

Kate's dancing partner, Tony Dovolani, will go to Kate's home for practice.

Kate, we're told, will only be in L.A. two days a week, for the taping. When she's in La La Land, her kids will stay in PA with a nanny.

Our source says Kate told the "Dancing" folks, she's doing the show "because she's a single mom trying to make money."

Oh and glad to hear she'll make $125,000 or $200,000 or whatever it is. She can sock that away in her kids' college funds. (rrrrrriiiiiight...)

My comments on the link above, Kate on Good Morning, America--because I really must rant to someone:

* Did I see her fiddling with an earpiece on the left side?

* Interrupted the host so many times it became awkward.

* The expected statement was there: "I'm a mom, and I have eight kids..." Really?! Eight kids? The ENTIRE civilized world did not know that.

* Tony said, "This is also for her kids..." Wow. That's a huge surprise. SOMEONE had to work that statement in there, huh?

* Tony said that he thought Kate was a great example to Moms. (Ugh. Yes, a great example--of the BAD variety.)

I am not sure when DWTS airs, but I thought it was in the Fall. If this is the case, why is Kate practicing now. All others on the show have said they had six weeks of practice before.
If she is receiving special attention, which she obviously is, then this will not enamour her to her fellow competitors.

Absolutely. The timing is just perfect--a coincidence? Just as the kids (seemingly) are allowed back on TV, reality show taping resumes at Kate's house. I've never watched DWTS, but I can see why TLC loves having it taped there. I don't know how it all works, but I assume, since TLC says "the entire family is still under contract," and since this is apparently a TLC-approved project...TLC must "license" the right to ABC for the kids being on TV as much as they would Kate.

I don't know the industry, I'm just following the buck and making an educated guess...

I'm sorry for Tony Dovalani that he got stuck with Kate. He often seems to get the short end of the stick on this show, and wasn't he paired with Kathy Ireland last season. She seemed like such a cold fish and was completely uncomfortable/awkward in the close holds. So here he goes again, with the coldest of fish, Kate Gosselin.

Someone said here that Tony mentioned his wife during the GMA interview. Hmmmmm, is that telling? Has Kate tried to flirt in her heavy-handed way and he's busy throwing up some clear boundaries?

Kate claimed she asked for another partner but was told they were too "quiet" for her. That would not fit Maks nor Derek. Jonathan seems quiet to me, but I can't see Kate requesting him as her partner. All the other male dancers are breathing a huge sigh of relief while commiserating with Tony.

I'm with those who suggest voting for people we think might have a low fan base, to help boost their numbers and hopefully boot Kate off sooner rather than later. DWTS does limit the number of votes you can make, unlike American Idol.

Another thing... i don't know the details of their contract w/ TLC, but how does Kate get away w/ doing all these other "ventures" and not be in violation w/ TLC's contract... like Jon was???? Has anyone figured that out?? Is she asking for permission from TLC to do all these other things and maybe Jon didn't and just went out and did them??? It just doesn't seem fair to Jon to be stuck at home (even if he is getting paid) watching all 8 kids while Kate is out earning other paychecks. Just my thoughts.

Thanks for the link to the Jimmy Kimmel show:
Kate was sure playing her *little girl* image to the hilt.
I cannot believe she actually said she was GOING TO WIN!! and checked Buzz off the list. Nice going Kate, just the way to kick off your relationship with the rest of the competitors, they probably dislike her already.
She hesitated over a comment about Pamela, probably thinking that there was one area she could not compete with.
Jimmy's sarcastic remarks went right over her head as usual. The comments about the basement being cleared made me think "what about all that time and money spent on organizing it and a place where you said you would not even wrap a parcel down there?"
This woman certainly dances to her own drummer, I wonder what it is like inside Kate Gosselin's head. Pretty empty I guess except one part of her brain which cries *Star* and *Money*.
I must admit one thing though, she looked quite trim and I did not see a wad in her mouth!!!
Merde...she just will not go away!!!!

"CONSPIRACY THEORY ALERT: My hunch is that with all of the DWTS advertising and media hype already focusing on Kate and making her the primary focal point of the show that she will definitely WIN. Do not be suprised to see it happen!"

********

Wow, I hope not! But then wouldn't the other 10 contestants have a lawsuit on their hands for the contest being rigged?

It is really weird the way only Kate seems to be making the rounds to plug DWTS. Maybe it's because all of the other "stars" have careers and lives, and she's willing to drop everything (i.e. the kids) to run off and be on tv.

The comments on TMZ are pretty funny. I looked at the clip where Kate was the only one too good to talk to the cameras. Most comments are anti Kate/Pam (mostly anti Kate). One poor sole did take a poke at GWOP. Here's that comment:

"Google GWOP and have a look at the loonies who spend their days looking for articles on the 'net about Kate Gosselin and then trashing her to bits. They consist of a group of about 15-20 absolutely insane hateful women with way too much time on their hands and about the meanest personalities you will ever encounter. I've said enough - go look for yourselves. Be prepared to feel like taking a bath afterwards, yuck."

Gee, I thought there were more of us than just 15-20. Maybe she's getting us mixed up with the ROL sheeple.

Well, Kate certainly looks more polished in her media interviews, so the media training seems to be paying off. That said, a pig is still a pig with or without lipstick. It was refreshing to her Anderson Cooper last night on CNN outright state he won't be watching Kate on DWTS, and shaking his head in disbelief while saying he "doesn't get" the interest in the Gosselins. His sidekick stated she would be watching Kate, but Anderson, was adamant and said "the line has to be drawn somewhere" and I suppose he's drawing it with all things Gosselin. Finally! I was thinking I wonder how it must feel for Kate to have a reputable journalist slam her like that.
And lastly, I wonder if Kate now regrets alienating her hometown and state. I'm sure the friends and families and neighbours AND hometowns and states of the other competitors are rallying behind them. Too bad Kate can't count on her town's support. Who knows, it could have helped her.
I don't watch this show, but I hope the astronaut wins! It would be nice to see someone truly accomplished without a professional background in entertainment win.

So I was going to urge you all to vote for her, just to keep her on the other side of the continent.
Now that I hear that she is having a dance studio installed in her house, well OMG, what next. However how about they announce a "surprise" contestant, JON. and give him the sexiest best dancer in the place. Wow, what a competition.

I think sometimes the good intentions here backfire. Watching just so you can TRY to vote her off is going to backfire...all they are going to see is HIGH ratings regardless.

MickeyMcKean said...

I read about the video at TMZ from last night so I decided to check it out. Not a surprise whatsoever is that Kate does NOT stop to talk to anyone but blows right on by and yes that would be Steve her bodyguard walking behind her. Some of the other dancers show up after Kate (without bodyguards!), and they have no problem in talking to the paps whatsoever, sign autographs, but again, not Kate. Must be hard going through life and being *that* special, eh?

Then I read about Kate's appearance on GMA so I recorded the entire show. Then I fast fwd'd to the Kate clip.

Interesting to note that right after Kate made a "somewhat whispered" comment to Tony - asking whether he was a good painter and then George commented he didn't want to get in the middle of it and to let them "go right to it" - that within 5 seconds her finger goes up to her left ear. I LMAO!!! I am pretty sure that someone just told her to knock it off (the flirting) and I wondered why??

See I am not a fan of DWTS, and I am not going to be now, so I don't know anything about Tony. But during this interview I find out that he is a married man with twins. Yep, it had to be an earpiece!!! PR does not want it to look like Kate is chasing a married man with kids!!! Can't you just imagine the damage control it would take to remove her label of homewrecker???

Also obvious is that ABC/TLC is going to milk this ummm mom angle for all it is worth. They even have Tony praising her on GMA for being a mom, yuck!

I think it is safe to say that this is one couple that we won't be hearing any rumors about any romantic relationship developing. Otherwise I would be typing here, Run Tony RUN!

Also, I think it is safe to say that one cannot dance those moves with an earpiece. That being said, I think it is going to be interesting what is going to happen when Kate is in front of the judges and getting constructive criticism when no one is in her ear telling her what to say or how to react. I think the world - the real people who are not on any blogs - will see the real Kate pretty quickly and then finally, hopefully, TLC will get it that we all have her number and her 15 minutes are finally up!

Poor castrated Jon, he can't even comment on Kate being on the show.

It's probably for the best. Honestly, he needs to just focus on rebuilding his life. Get a job, pay off whatever debts he has, buy or rent a home, do things that he enjoys and be the best dad he can be to those 8 kids.

The reality? Kate WILL eventually disappear. As I said, it's only been 2 and 1/2 years that she's really been in the mainstream. If Jon and the rest of us just sit back and allow her to oversaturate the market, the public will tire of her and the media gigs will dry up.

After all, Kate is who Kate is. She's not that good an actress and her only claim to fame are her children and her "super mom" persona. Her kids are growing up and at best she's got about 5 years left before they out and out revolt against her 'Gosselin branding'. Believe me, teenagers are narcissistic in their own right. Some of her kids may toe her line but I am sure a number of them won't, specifically Mady (although Cara could surprise us all).

Eventually people will see the truth about her. They did in PA. They will in the rest of the US. Kate is the flavor of the month because right now there isn't anything better going on. And I think that the media want to see what she's going to do with this DWTS gig and potentially fall on her face. They're a fickle lot. And they've seen a lot of people come and go.

I know she's fun to snark on and certainly invites it no matter what she claims. And I agree, it's not fun to sit back and watch people who you feel don't deserve the opportunities they've received get ahead in the world/be rewarded for their behavior. That's a societal problem - Kate is only a symptom of a larger diseases. I do encourage people, however, to not invest the emotional energy in her. She's just not worth it.

Kate has had a 'dance studio' installed in her basement so she can remain close to her children while she PRACTICES for DWTS; what about ALL the time Kate will spend AWAY from her children doing her SELF PROMOTION media TOUR in addition to her appearance on DWTS? So, I will join Teryn & Brummygirl ...watch,get the phone numbers, and vote for the worse 2 or 3 dancers to stay as the good ones take care of themselves...this forces K*to have the least votes, voila, she's history.- The first week you should get 11 votes per each phone you use. Then register @ DWTS & you get another 11 votes to vote online.

While I'm thinking about it...remember how TLC has been "thinking"up a show for K8 for moths now...& supposedly tweaking it? IMO I don't think they have one at all because they would have to be filming it now. Maybe they're just stringing her along 'til her contract runs out?
I can dream can't I???

Kate on Tour said...

Do you realize that if Kate gets through the first cut she will very likely go on tour because traditionally the top 10 get to go.

How will she handle that? Do you think she would turn it down so she can take care of her kids?
* * *

I once went to see a tour show of SoYouThinkYouCanDance, and it was a great performance. Afterward, fans waited outside to meet the dancers in person, and all the dancers came out, shook hands, signed autographs, and were really quite sweet and pleasant (all this on a cold fall night).

I've never gone to one for DWTS. I don't know that Kate would enjoy performing all around the country at different venues as merely part of a big show. She craves the limelight, but she doesn't have a good strong work ethic, and she's absolutely abysmal at the meet and greet yer fans part. The dancers get paid, but they have to work to earn that money.

If she lasts long enough to be a dancer on tour, I'd expect her to back out of more than one or two tour dates, claiming she can't be away from her kids that much. They are her all purpose excuse for doing whatever it is she feels like doing. "It's all for the kids!"

It's amazing how many people actually still fall for that tired old line.

tic tac toe -- the state of PA established a trust fund so that if anyone wanted to contribute to the tups college fund, they could. The State did not put any money itself into those funds. I don't think there is any public record of how much was donated and remains in trust.

The bloom came off the rose pretty quick in Kate's home town and home state, so I doubt there's a whole bucket of money just waiting for those kids when they apply to colleges.

"TonyDovolani-Just did GMA Kate and I are getting along great she is a amassing Mom and it looks like she is going to become a great dancer to :-)" (from his twitter)

She must be doing a good job of acting...

When will Katie, Miss High Horse on the High Road, go away? When we stop enabling her. Every post, every click on every link to every image validates her in her quest. "Oh look! They're still looking at me!" And so the ego continues to inflate.

Does that make us, or sites like this, wrong? Hell, no! but it does pose a conundrum, doesn't it?

I need to find Tony Dovalani's FB or Myspace page and tell him that Kate is NOT a great example to mothers. She's not a great example to anyone except dictators-in-training.

Thank you to the poster to linked to the clip of Kate & Tony on GMA. Kate was so clearly posed with that fakey smile. She also hesitated with her answers - was she waiting to be fed a line or told how to respond? I noticed her fiddle with her earpiece at least twice. But that frozen fake smile!

Tony is already laughing nervously around her. I think he really believes she's a good person. I wonder if he's going to get some rude awakening soon, the longer he spends in her company?

If her dancing is anywhere as stiff and halting as this interview, I'm going to be laughing my butt off.

Someone asked when DWTS is on - I think they run it in the fall AND Spring.

I see the hypocrisy when she said she just told her kids yesterday - she has been dancing in her basement for 3 days! Even if she danced "after" they went to bed, don't you think the kids would have noticed all those strangers and cameras?

I too am not looking forward to Kate in skimpy costumes. So long "mother" image.

Actually, I won't waste my time watching her. But in all fairness it would be, interesting to see her fall on her arse. You know what the media and others accused Jon of doing(acting like a twenty something/teenager) Kate is being a shining example of. A double stand huh? Or is Kate trying to get back at her family, after all from what she said that her brother always defended her and that she was a bit of a trouble maker and could not do anything right(according to her), by her thinking she is a star would be like putting a knife into her family, and saying see I am somebody. But as we all know most of us could careless.

So if she's been practicing at home for three days, and the kids just found out what's going on, how is it that the kids never noticed a dance studio installed in their house??

She can keep them out of any wing of the house she wants under penalty of severeness ; )

I don't normally watch DWTS (and won't now), but I will tune in at the very end to get the phone numbers so I can pick someone else to vote for.

Same here..

No, don't do that. It's easiest to just vote online. Go to the ABC website and you can just click and vote that way : )

Went to Utube to watch HER on Kimmell's show. Talk about a sausage stuffed into a too-small wrapper! Not flattering, oh, fake one. You look 45.

Looks like TLC has a double standard.

I see she has Steve her "bodyguard" with her in LA. The good thing is she's away from the kids - they can be happy with their dad near by and notlive in daily fear of her and her temper.
