Happy Thanksgiving

A happy Thanksgiving to all. We have one more thing to give thanks for this year with the end of the show. Be safe to those yet to be on the roads. Traffic was already bad yesterday.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. Thank you for all the hard work and time you put into this blog. It is a good outlet for those of us who have been concerned for the kids throughout all of this and hopefully will continue to be until the entire issue is completely resolved.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am sure those who have bonded over the good of these children will continue to share and care...

It's over.

Thanksgiving.
The drama does not end.
Jon... was that you being really 'dumb' talking to Michael (Lohan, perhaps)? This guy is clearly poison. He has sold his daughter out and will ruin you and your children with his antics. Stay SMART and quiet..
Thank you Mods for this forum and Thank GOD for giving these children and their lives a chance....

beautiful fall flowers to our moderators! Without this blog, I would have never really seen the

Happy Thanksgiving to the moderators, posters and readers of GWOP, hope you all have a wonderful holiday!
I also hope and pray the Gosselin kids have a wonderful holiday, too...as for Jon and Kate, sadly, I have lost all hope and given up on these 2 losers, unfortunately, their kids were not blessed with even one decent parent....

Happy Thanksgiving!
I am cooking a huge dinner and having my whole family over. Our 2and 1/2 weeks old Brea is doing wonderful.

I hope the Gosselin children have a good day. I know they won't be surrounded by any loving family just the so called friends their mom has pointed out numerous times.
No cousins for them to interact with just people who adore Kate as usual.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone of you! You are all so insightful and funny and it is such a pleasure to come here every day and find out what is going on with the tups and twins and I hope they have a happy Thanksviging as well.

Happy Thanksgiving! please pray for the G kids and all kids that they have a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with hugs, kisses and love and food!
yes, be careful out in traffic. on friday 13th 2 young brothers were killed in a car wreck. 23 and 25 respectively. the 25 yr. old just came home from Iraq. they were preceded in death by a sister. so their parents will have buried 3 kids. a parent should not have to do that.
I am thankful for my kids, and that the gosselin kids are not under the hot camera lights.
God Bless the Gosselin Kids.

Yes, happy thanksgiving, everyone!! And a special message to Jon and Kate Gosselin: your marriage is over and it sounds like it was a miserable one. But your divorce CAN be great and that should be a goal for both of you. Your kids will thank you for it. My personal turning point was when I finally gave up waiting for all the apologies I felt I was owed for this that and the other. Let it go and moved on. It changed the dynamic between me and the ex immediately, probably because I wasn't so angry anymore. Neither of us were perfect, but if you looked at the entire marriage, there was much more good than bad and we had two great kids together. Kate, in particular, see if you can stop trying to get Jon to right all the wrongs you feel he's done. He has extended the olive branch several times. YOU need to man up and accept him for who he is NOW, because you are no longer in charge of him and never should have been in the first place. Wanna know how you can have your kids' undying gratitude and admiration? Be kind to their dad. Try to be friends. Hang on to the good parts of your friendship. Once upon a time, the two of you were kinda sweet together. I'm having thanksgiving dinner tomorrow with the kids and my ex. I'm really thankful for that. It's so much better than being angry and/or alone.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, especially our generous and wise mods, who have done so much to focus a community on the plight of the G8 and all kids on reality shows.

For some of us, the prospect of the Weds-Monday holiday the kids get from school is not an unalloyed blessing. Especially if we have adult relatives (moms, MIL, stepfathers, bros and sisters, cousins once removed) underfoot.

Let's try this--when pushed beyond endurance by any generation, ask ourselves, "What would Kate do?" Then do the opposite.

Much love to all.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. I would like to second the comment that was made by "For the Moment". This blog is a great outlet for those of us who see straight through the lies and manipulative behaviors of the Gosselin parents. I am concerned about what the future will hold for the children even now that the show has been canceled. We all know that Kate has more than enough money now to provide the necessities for her kids, as well as a considerable college fund for each of them, and yet she continues to cry poor. It is not because she believes she is actually poor, but because she is concerned about her own lucrative career at the expense of the children she professes to love above everything else. So much damage has already been done that cannot be reversed, but those kids DO still have a chance. However, there's only two people in their lives who can really give that to them, and that's their parents.

Jon and Kate, if there's only one thing I can say to you at this point, it's this: your show is over. It's done. It didn't just happen for no reason, and it certainly wasn't "taken away" from you. It was not a healthy or harmless thing for the kids, as Kate continues to claim. More importantly, Kate, it is not something that you should fight to get back. There are a lot of things mothers should do to fight for their kids' sake, but this is not one of them. You have a shot at being a real mother to them again, just like Jon has a shot at being a real father. Nobody can do that for you, and there's nobody out there that you can blame if you fail to be there for those kids. It's all on you. For every parent in this entire world, the well-being of their kids on this Earth relies on them. You may act like you're more important than the rest of us, but in terms of parental responsibilities, you are no different than anyone.

Remember where you were when you started all this, and remember how you were the ones who said you wanted a family. The invasive world of Hollywood and fame is NOT the place to raise healthy, happy, safe children. You NEED to stop thinking about the high-profile career you want on television, and just cut back to the basics. Think about what you can do to support your family without being in the limelight and using them as a cover-up for your own selfish needs. There are several modest, real-world ways to raise a big family. People do it every single day of their lives and are even happy while doing it. Your kids are people who will be a reflection of you as they grow up. Think long and hard about what you want for them, and what they truly deserve. Above all, get your acts together, stop competing with each other for dramatic media coverage, and for once, do something real and positive for your family.

Okay, that wasn't exactly "just one thing," and I've already gone on longer than I should have--sorry about that! In short, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL, and thank you to the hard-working moderators for giving us this blog. Your efforts do not go unnoticed. They are appreciated.

Warm wishes to everyone as we begin the holiday season! I'm really thankful to have stumbled upon such a devoted, intelligent, engaging, and witty group of people on this blog. Your posts have literally made me laugh and cry, and I truly appreciate the sense of community the mods have fostered here.

I sincerely hope the Gosselin kids will be enjoying a family-focused, loving Thankgiving holiday. As I typed that previous sentence, though, I found myself rolling my eyes and wishing I could invite them to my house for some turkey and stuffing instead. We don't live too far from them, so perhaps they'd be interested in trying the lemon cheesecake and/or pumpkin pudding my daughter and I are experimenting with this year...????? I just hope that Kate is giving those kids a real Thanksgiving -- and simultaneously thanking God that she's been blessed with eight healthy wonderful children. I can dream, can't I????

Rose, I had to laugh at the length of your post; mine tend to be lengthy also. What you said was spot on, but it's funny how talking about those Gosselins makes the flood gates open. There's so much to be angry at them for, huh? And we don't even know them! My guess is that Mady's tell-all will be an epic trilogy.

Oh, for the love of God. Did you all catch who Kate and the kids spent their first Jon-less Thanksgiving with?? That's right, the Boobyguard and his family, at the McOrphanage. Guess they're easing Steve into family holidays so that the kids are used to him being around once he dumps his wife for the Queen.

http://www.radaronline.com/photos/image/32893/2009/11/kate-gosselin-celebrates-thanksgiving-steve-neild-and-his-family

Funny, looks like Gina carries two bags/purses as well. Perhaps that's the secret sorority symbol for those in the Steve-boinking club???

Bodyguard my ass.

I posted before reading your comments (a big no no!) but I just wanted to say that it has been a real pleasure to have so many friends on this site.

I have enjoyed your comments, and we aren't going anywhere, so please continue to visit here.

It has been an interesting journey from commenting on a little tv show to the ups and downs of the Gosselin world. I have read things here that have been so poignant, I have rejected things that were awful.

From my personal perspective, I have tried to let in all comments that were in the range of what we asked for in the Rules for Posting. I have never had a problem with a differing perspective of the show. What I have had to delete are comments that break so many rules, regardless of your opinion.

I have wanted this to be YOUR site, your opinions, whatever they might be. This was always the goal of this site, and whatever tone it has taken has ultimately been what you have given us.

I speak only for myself as a moderator here, but that has been my goal, and I appreciate every comment that has been sent to us.

We aren't going anywhere for a while, so hope to see you all again, and Happy Holidays to you all.

One further thought is to please make sure that everyone in your car is buckled in, it will make for a much happier holiday!

Whols the other woman in the picture of the Neild family at the Gosselin house? We see her from the back, wearing navy, in one of the pictures.

I wonder if the stink from all those shoes Kate has lined up in the entry way of her house knocked the Neilds over. I wonder if she made them take their shoes off to add to the collection? LOL

To PA Mom Knows ~

About 10 days ago, when Jon was in Hawaii, he appeared on THE INSIDER and he said he had received a text msg earlier that day from Kate asking him not to come by on Thanksgiving.

Jon said that their agreement was they both get to spend holidays with the kids and now Kate is wanting to change it for Thanksgiving. Jon said he did not know what he would do, he may not push the issue, and just in case he did not show up, he said to the kids via the camera something along the lines of: "aloha, I love you and if I don't see you on Thanksgiving I will see you on Friday."

Fast forward to this week and the airing of the final episode, two days after their meeting with the arbitrator.

There is no doubt in my mind Kate is furious with Jon because the show is truly over. Add the fact that a lot of newspapers etc are saying that people are glad it is over and that Jon and Kate are no longer marketable with their eco-toys and whatever, that their 15 minutes are up because when you are selling your cute kids, don't make it all about YOU and a nasty divorce.

So today with Steve Nield and his wife as guests at the McMansion, obviously Jon steered clear of a vicious meltdown. Kudos to Jon because all things considering, it is probably a good thing for the kids that he took the high road today.

goawayfools said...

Steve and Gina were smart to bring their own food (Doritos and milk, maybe?) given the slop we've seen Kate serve over the years. I'd bet that turkey is so undercooked it's still gobbling and probably stuffed with grapes, crackers and salmonella. What do you think she served dinner on: paper or plastic?

dustilies said...

Dear Maggie,

You and he other mods have made a really wonderful space for people like me to both vent AND learn. That's really hard to do in internet space where we all can change our "handles" whenever we want.

I found this site when I started hearing rumors about Jon back in May and wanted to know a) what folks were saying and b) how much of it was true.

As I said in a previous post to another topic, I came for the snark, but stayed for the ethics. The smart, wise-cracking, and honest posters here have clarified so many things for me about parenting. And have also opened my eyes to what a hall of mirrors "reality TV" is.

Thank you for keeping the forum open and diverse and amazingly civil, considering the number of wounds that open when we start talking about victimized children and criticizing their parents' choices.

Vanessa said...

How pathetic that the only friends she's sharing Thanksgiving with are people who've been in their lives for maybe 2 years? Just one more to add to her famous "making memories" list. Truly sad that not ONE member of their family is sharing that dinner with them. She will never see it.

Brummygirl said...

That is really sad that she is not surrounded by family except the children.
I wonder what she said she was grateful for? Could be a long list of freebies!!
Kate had better smarten up regarding allowing Jon to be with the children on holidays, especially Christmas. It was a good move that he was not there for Thansgiving, can you imagine how uneasy he would have felt with Steve and family there?
Hmmm...did they have organic turkey and vegetables?
How do you have organic Pumpkin? :)
