Gee, that's hardly sexist at all. The boys get to go out and ride horses and be outdoors, and the girls get to try on clothes.

Won't be watching.

The average person DOES NOT take half their kids to a dude ranch!

EVERY MEMORY IS CONTRIVED!

LADIES OF THE VIEW: I IMPLORE YOU TO ALL TAKE "A SICK DAY" WHEN KATE SHOWS UP.

I would love to see the look on Kate's face when she sits down to enjoy the view with a bunch of stand ins.

No thanks, too boring, not watching.

I teach preschoolers. I see a lot of children who are not outright physically neglected, but their emotional needs and self esteem needs are. It's like I tell my husband "Just look at them and love them for who they are". Too many parents put their own need for validation above their children's. Is any one looking at the Gosselin children?

I owe Kate a debt of thanks! I got married last October, and for the past 10 months, Kate has been my guide as a newlywed.

Whenever my husband and I have a problem, I ask myself "what would Kate do? How would Kate react?"

AND THEN I DO THE OPPOSITE.

My husband and I are very, very happy. :)

Thanks Khate!

Cher, you beat me to it!! I thought of the Village People too. We have the Native American (Indian Chief back then) and construction worker left.
The costumes that Kate dresses those poor boys in at the dude ranch are ridiculous! And she has on a baby doll dress, cowboy boots and a pink hat!!

I don't think I can watch this even for the snark value - It is beyond reckless to let your five year old children get on horses without helmets. It's bad enough when your own dumb adult self does it, but to let your child do so is beyond neglectful.

This show is nothing more than a vacation guide of sorts (going to the beach house, Hawaii, etc). This show should really be on the Travel Channel and not TLC.

Kate on The View? Oh come on now. Will there even be room for the other hosts with the size Kate's head is going to get? I wish Rosie was still one there...maybe she would out this broad for what she really is...a publicity whore.

Delay? I thought they got this episode out in lightening speed. They have been showing previews for at least a week, so that is abou 3 weeks sine they went right? We used to have 3-4 months lag on real life versus show on the show. Wonder why they jumped to this and didn't show tea with the tip girls? I mean if you think about it, we had boys day out at ship and now boys day out at dude ranch? Thwy seems odd to play two mot ventric shows and not show the tea party or at least her trip with the girls to Florida in between.

I live out west and for the record we have cowBOYS and cowGIRLS!

Not fair whatsoever to "punish" the girls and not invite them go too!

But even more disturbing is allowing the kids to ride without helmets. I own a ranch, and I don't care how gentle the horse is, it can still "spook". Besides a child can still fall from a horse that is just standing and hit the ground hard and get injured. I know, I have seen it happen!

I won't be watching!

Forget this episode: How about NEWSFLASH!--PICTURES of STEVE & GINA NEILD and sons arrive at Kates for pool party on sosugary.com

HA!!! Before I even went to look for them I told myself, "I betcha there are some shots that were 'posed' specifically for the paparazzi which would show Kate and Steve's wife as best buds." Damn I am good! I can here it now...
Kate: Here, stand here, NO, right here...then turn towards me a bit and then laugh like I told you something really funny!

cowgirlwithahelmet! said...

"But even more disturbing is allowing the kids to ride without helmets."

I may be wrong here...but it looks like the shots without helmets were just the "photo shoot"...you can see that they have lead ropes on each horse the tups are on...and in one or two of the pics see a person leading the horse.

I know that I take a christmas photo every year of my kids on our horses and they never have a helmet on for the photo. I also have both horses on lead ropes and then photo edit the ropes out...

My children never RIDE without helmets, and are not allowed to even handle them without helmets.

So I really hope that when they did ride they had on helmets!

Kate has her bodyguard's wife and silver fox over. Is this Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes version 2?

Eddie Cibrian and his wife denied his affair with LeAnn Rimes in the beginning. His wife defended him and called LeAnn Rimes a stalker and crazy. And then, the wife divorced Eddie Cibrian and said that Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes deserve each other.

Eddie Cibrian and LeAnn Rimes got together right after the wife walked out of the marriage.

They are trying too hard. Everybody knows Kate is an indoor girl. She only likes shopping, spa, and lounge on her couch, Why make her go to a dude ranch? Let her do the dress up then. Jon should go to the ranch with the boys. Boys like their funny dad.

a thought -

is TLC punishing Jon by giving Kate the nice trips and making him stay home and do boring stuff now?

The boys and Jon going together would make sense, of course Kate has this sexist rep to overcome, and it could be that while Jon is an "outdoor guy" he doesn't like horses or refused to go to a dude ranch.

I liked his dad and boy days with Aaden at the farm "I can't see sheep" has become a family joke in my house - and taking the inquisitive Joel to the hands on museum. Can't remember what he did with Collin- oh yeah, it was the train. All those he did on his own with them. For the girls, at leat Leah and the bouncy house and Mady and Cara, J&K went together, seemingly indicating she was interested in being part of her girls special day, but not the boys. She also went to see the alligator with Alexis or whatever that was and I know she went to see Hannah try to ride a pony tho that didn't go very well.

Much more natural to have the kids divvy up on who wanted to do something and who wanted to stay home, as with the skiing. Cara and Leah went, so did Joel and COllin, Aaden stayed home and didn't mind being the only boy to do so although of course Kate had to point that out to him.

Jon seems to enjoy doing stuff with the older kids which is natural I guess and with the boys since there was little choice there, mom didn't want to go.

Now, the choices appear to be that all 8 don't go places because that is a lot of kids at once. But I guess they will have to get used to doing the some go some stay routine, there will be few shows, IMO, that include all 8 kids going anywhere - the beach trip scared me because of the safety issue, when they both took all the kids to the beach Kate spent the day screaming at Jon to hold the kids' hands etc but when she went alone with them, she seemed not to be worried about them being right there at the ocean's edge, which would freak me out - I've seen rogue waves come up out of nowhere, Kate doesn't swim or not well - although I suppose Steve or someone would save them, those kinds of trips are scary.

Kids on bikes and horses should have helmets, not cowboy hats. Another choice made for fashion rather than safety.

I saw the preview of this epi - Yuck! I don't care how odd J has turned out, he is still a more natural parent. IMO it doesn't matter how you dress up K and where you put her and her children, her interest in them and what they are doing seems forced. She is not a natural with her children. The only part of the clip that looked fun was J playing with the girls back home.

You bet I will watch if Jon is pregnant. I won't be watching on Monday because I am going out. Thank God for that.

After their marriage fall out, and we found out so many lies and deception. I had an epiphany - I really shouldn't watch so much TV. TV shows are all fake and scripted. It's a waste of time. I don't enjoy being a sucker so I decide to go out more and get a life.

I don't like the footage of Kate interacting with her kids on new episodes. Funny, it looks like acting now. She is very self conscious in front of camera now. It must be she doesn't spend that much time with her children no more. So when she has to interact with them in front of camera, it doesn't come natural to her anymore.

She makes that fake smile a lot while touching and looking down at one of her kids. It's exactly the same smile showing all her teeth on all magazine covers. Who does that?

She really can't act.

Jon, on the other hand, did pretty well at the pool party. He was friendly. He just stood there and talked to people. No touching or anything crazy.

Of course he was heckled at the party. He handled himself very well. He either ignored it or made fun at himself. Somebody called him a baldy while he turned his back. He just touched his bald spot to humor himself. Jon is naturally relaxed and funny. If he watches out women with bad intention, he might actually have a shot doing other TV shows without his children in the foreground or background.

I think the desperation is starting to show this season - well really kicked off with the renewal of vows show in a way, but it seems pretty clear they can't keep up with this forever. I hope the View does have her on, I want to see what she can do besides act like such a dolt. When it's a real situation and she has to think on her feet with smart women who are comfortable in their own skin.

you know, just remembering how much Hannah had loved her special day before with horseback riding, I'm feeling more than my usual hatred of the Gosselin sexist attitudes.

Not only are they being sexist in general, by taking the boys to a ranch and having the girls do dressup, but they KNOW that at least one of their daughters loves horses and that stuff and yet they leave the girls behind anyway!

Blatent disregard of a child's interests just to encourage gender stereotypes... GRRRRR.

I've mentioned that I have 2 boys and 1 girl in my previous comments and while I have exposed them all to athletics and all the same things regardless of gender, they are all different people. The Gosselins need to realize that boy, girl, alien from outer space, they deserve to all get to explore what they might be interested in.

My oldest is not into sports, though I do make him take swim classes as I believe every person should learn to swim to a certain level... once he hits that, I will leave it up to him.

My younger two, however, are very much into sports.... my middle son is most into soccer, basketball, and is looking forward to when he's old enough to do wrestling and football.

My daughter is really into soccer and swimming so far and I'll let her try whatever sport she wants. I'm proud of her that she enjoys swimming to such an extent that she has already gotten further in her skills than her brothers.

I don't look at age and gender... I want my kids to enjoy what they enjoy and if that means that my youngest child and my only girl is better at something than her older brothers because it interests her, or that my boys are better at things she doesn't care to do, so what... but I'm gonna make sure all 3 of them have the same chance to try it out.

And that's what they should do... not just assume that their kids won't want to do it.

And what also makes me mad about it is that I was a lot like Cara was as a girl... and my daughter (though her favorite color is pink and she's also more girly like Mady is sometimes) is this way, too... that I LOVED being outdoors, camping, all that stuff... as my daughter does now... and why would you ever discourage a child from doing something active?

It's the same thing over and over:

See the pretty children (who are constantly told they are special and are starting to believe it) regurgitate a couple lines.

See the cold, bitter mom, who suffers delusions of grandeur, ACT out scenes.

See the pretty children act like children.

See the mommy act.

No thanks.

I think you're right. A year or so ago, it was mentioned that Kate used a red plastic spatula to spank her kids... so perhaps the wooden spoon doesn't stand out as much.

The Village People comment made me laugh.

I don't understand why the kids were split up. I loved horseback riding when I was a kid. I would've been really upset if my brother got to go and I didn't. Yes, I love spas and clothes shopping too... but that would never out rank riding!

Jon was definitely the better parent to send on this trip. He actually might have enjoyed it...and in turn, so might have the kids.

I didn't see that pic, but if she really feels the need to keep one in the car, she could at least put it where it's not visible.

With all the travelling the family does, the kids would spend a lot of time in the car, and if Kate actually provided some entertainment for them (books, coloring books, tapes etc) the chances of them acting out would be much less because they wouldn't be bored.

IMO, it's either because Kate doesn't want anyone getting all those HUGE floors dirty and invading the hers-all-hers house, OR if nothing is filmed inside the kids' house, nobody can claim that their home is a TV studio. Not sure if this has been commented on, so sorry if I'm being redundant.

Note to Kate: Enough of your complaints about the paparazzi -- really, you had to go to a dude ranch to escape the cameras????

Reality check:

(1) YOU and you alone INVITED cameras into your life when you agreed to do your show, so PLEASE STOP complaining about unwanted attention. If you don't want cameras following you, ask the TLC crew to leave your living room. For the love of god, you make me sick.

(2) If you don't want the paps to photograph you, have your hired team of assistants/nannies run your errands for you (and YOU stay home with your kids -- oh, that's a novel idea). I'm sure your staff is smart enough to figure out how to pick up a coffee at Starbucks for you, and to follow that up with a mind-numbing pick-up at the UPS store (or whatever that stupid place is that you need to visit every day).

(3) Wear a bra and clothes that fit you.

(4) PLEASE return the pink cowboy hat to the tup girls. Word to the mirror: It doesn't fit your ego-inflated head.

(5) In reference to comment #4: FIRE you stylist asap. Clearly s/he is getting a good laugh at making you look like a complete baffoon.

(6) This season's shows are about as entertaining as watching paint dry and grass grow. AND about as painful as having my toenails ripped out without a good stiff drink.

Kate, PLEASE look in your mirror and accept the truth: You are NOT a celebrity. You have no talent. You are NOT interesting. You're a less-than-stellar mother. You are a man-abuser. You are a narcisist.

One more request: Please relinquish custody of your poor kids to Jody and Kevin. You and Jon are the sorriest excuses for parents on this planet, and you do not deserve the kids you've been blessed with.

Lastly ... the clock is ticking, and according to the experts, the alarm is about to chime to announce the end of your "15 minutes."

PLEASE NOTE: I am not at all a fan of Jon and Kate but I did enjoy Kate's interactions with the boys and Jon's with the girls. It was nice to see them spending quality, genuine time with the children (yes, the word "genuine" may be debatable as some say it was all staged). This is just my opinion so please don't throw eggs at me. :-)

I was enjoying the episode UNTIL Jon had to ruin it with his "I live in New York and I miss being there and getting things done....when I am here I have to take care of 9 people and that is a lot of work" comment. That pissed me off and it showed me that my 2 seconds of actually liking Jon were not going to be prolonged.

2. She taught the boys how to egg people. Great. wonderful skill to teach your children. Can't wait till they're teenagers.

3. Jon: "I live in New York now, and it's quiet there and I can get a lot done." Since when is it quiet in NEW YORK CITY???? Compared to what, Mexico City? I realize this is his way of saying - Hooray, I'm free of these kids! but please can anyone on that show be honest about anything???

I saw the last half of this episode and it was puketastic.

So staged to make it seem like Kate is a good Mommy to the boys and she keeps saying she is so glad she had this trip so her boys could do boy things. Ummm... sexist much?

The girls stayed home and did dress up while the boys rode horses. Talk about stereotypes. Ugh.

Also, Kate goes to a shooting range and asks for pics of the tabloids to hang up for targets. Says she never wanted to shoot a gun, but suddenly felt the need. Khate with a gun in her hand was a truly frightening sight. I am very anti-gun and do not think a family show should have the Mommy clearly getting such enjoyment of shooting a gun.

Overall, this was THE most cringe-worthy episode evah. I am riddled with guilt for seeing those 30 minutes as I had not watched in weeks. Back on the no watching wagon I go... I just can't take it.

She does talk to the camerman alot though, as usual. Sad that she just discovered her boys are fun to be with.

Say what you want about Jon's womanizing ways and his bad choices, but he always seemed like such a good dad to me and still does. His interactions with his kids are very natural and you can see how much they love him.

Also, Jon's retreating form in the dress was hilarious. That is all.

As a parent of a child who owns/rides a horse - a LOT, I was somewhat prepared for them leading the kids on horseback with no helmets (although I don't agree)....HOWEVER my daughter freaked out when the kids started yelling and throwing the eggs and running in the arena. Just as she was saying, even old schoolies can....one of the horses spooked!

That situation with the children running around in an enclosed area containing horses....very unsafe.

And not to mention why in the world do dude ranch owners not require children wear helmets?????

I haven't lived in the States for some years, but isn't it the land of lawsuits???

DREADFUL.

Kate needs Rachel Zoe. Or a clue about fashion and age appropriate styling.

Can't she go to Nordstrom or Saks and get a personal shopper or something. Seriously. It is not that hard.

From a few comments, Katie talks directly to the camera ( of course)..remember the " JOOOOOOONN!!!! We do not speak directly to the cameras, they are filming ARE lives"..or something to that effect...I could put myself into a semi-coma and recall the episode, but suffice to say it was, I think, during the realest-reality show thing where they proved they were just living their lives..at the old house.

Sorry for rambling, but my... we have come a LOOONG way in 2 years ( By my calculation as based on ratings and promotional-commercial breaks by TLC)

The ICY COLD ONE, (Detroit Free Press this weekend)..Yep, that's you hateful Kate. Great parenting tips for all to be had by you, wooden spoon and all. Your sexist behaviour is stifling your childrens dreams and ambitions. Men don't cook, women don't participate in sports, and guess what , Khate doesn't participate in outdoorsy activities, so why the fake as heck horse stuff. IMO she is a horrible role model to others, she doesn't realized how she's being used, and will crash and burn, at the expense of her children when her 25 minutes FINALLY run out. How poor her parenting skills must be if the only way she gets cooperation is from a wooden spoon. Gosh, she just sucks as a parent.

I know just the episode you are talking about. It's where they go with Mady and Cara and collect the 8 pinecones in the redwoods. I do remember her yelling at Jon for talking to the producer, Jen. I wonder what Jen thinks about all this, she's been around since the beginning and has seen it all I'm sure.

I know that sometimes its good for them to do activities in smaller groups, but I hope they continue to do things all together. I swear those kids are going to grow up thinking themselves as casts "The Boys" "The Little Girls" and "The Twins." If they don't get cast in an episode together they might never see their siblings outside their group.

I also don't understand the hatred of the papparazzi from someone who loves having cameras follow her at all times. You know, if the show was just the truth of their lives, there wouldn't be a need for paparazzi, because it would be redundant, they wouldn't be able to sell something everyone can just watch. I guess Kate doesn't think they make her money or offer her enough gifts.

Do you think Jon or TLC has decided that Kate gets all the contrived events and Jon hangs out at home? I'm glad Jon put on the dress, but I cringed a little when he said he wasn't putting on a dress "on tv." Clearly kids that aren't on tv wouldn't have to worry about embarassing their dad on tv.

I wish Kate had truly gained an appreciation for her three fabulous sons and for the beautiful, serene, peaceful spaces and lifestyle of Wyoming as she claimed at the end of the show. Maybe it made her take a long hard look at her life and what's really important. What a great opporunity to maybe think about making some changes for the better. Or maybe not. What a shame and a waste as she apparently didn't grab hold of and learn from that experience.

But still ... I'm afraid that many of you are defeating your purpose by writing to networks and sponsors because in their world, loving or hating the show is exactly the same. Really! You think you are writing a letter of protest but you could be writing a biggest fan letter... it's all the same. They will see it as x % response and yours will be among them. Yours will be counted as a "fan" letter and therefore defeat your purpose of trying to get them off the air. Only "indifference" can make ratings fall.

Toward the end of this episode, Kate went on about how "honored" she is to be the mother of her boys.

She used lots of adjectives to describe the boys, but I can't remember them. She didn't talk about them being icky or dirty, or just like men.

She truly was doing it for damage control. It was all about how great Kate thinks her boys are.

They are great boys. They were cute tonight, but my goodness, their verbal skills are pathetic.

Kate's an Idiot said...

This show was all about Kate and her props, oh I mean her kids. It's no wonder why TLC loves her so much. She's all about putting on a show. Kate comes across as so fake and absolutely ridiculus. Her over the top reactions to everything are so put on. The only thing worse than a woman who behaves like an idiot is a woman who pretends to behave like an idiot.

Where to begin?

1.) If she is so stressed out by the presence of the paparazzi, does she not think that it also stresses out her children?!

2.)Showing up to a dude ranch in high heels? Really Kate? Again, ACTING like an idiot.

3.) Nothing says spending time with your kids like leaving them with strangers you just met or the camera crew while you go off for some me activities. I wonder who Steve was with during these times. I bet it wasn't the kids.

4.) For four seasons we have watched you just be an absolute wretched bitch to anyone in your path, including your kids. No one with a brain is buying this new can do, all smiles Kate. Again, it goes back to putting on a show.

5.) Whenever Kate goes on these trips she seems to ignore everyone around her (even the people hosting her)and only interacts with her producers. Sure you liked getting to know the people at the ranch. You hardly said one word to them more than what was required.

6.) It's funny that Kate seems to need to go on vacations to spend time with her kids. First the beach trip, now the trip to the ranch. Meanwhile Jon manages to spend time with the kids, gasp, at home doing normal activities.

7.) Even with all of his crazy behavior lately, Jon will always be the better parent. He actually seems to be able to play with the kids without it being all about him.

So in conclusion, Kate Gosselin, you suck, both as a person and as a mother.

I watched about 5 minutes of this before I changed the channel. I was mesmirized by the sight of her in that pink cowboy hat....WHY??? Not to be mean, but it just looked silly on her. Have you ever seen the episode of Mad TV where Stuart is dressed up like a cowboy? That's what it reminded me of-a grown up dressing like a little kid. I also can't get over how NOW she is such a fun and fearless mom. She used to be against trying anything, but when I saw her speed off on that ATV with that little guy on the back, it stressed me out to watch. Plus, where was her helmet??? In the past, she wouldn't ice skate for fear of getting put out of commission, but now she's a single mom and will try anything without taking any sort of safety precautions. I think she's trying way too hard to convince us that she's turning over a new leaf. I wish that she would just go enjoy her children and let them enjoy their childhood!

Kate makes me cringe said...

I can't even look at Kate anymore. Knowing who she really is now, I cringe when I see her phony face. I can't watch a family show focusing on a woman who doesn't have any family value.

She dumped her parents, brother, and husband because they are such lags to Kate. They are not good enough for Kate. Wow!

Kate makes me cringe said...

I am sure Kate will stop talking to some of the kids by the time they are adults. She will not talk to the ones who don't have financial success and who don't let Kate boss around.

Kate's moto: If you are not useful enough to benefit me, you are out. Goodbye!

Gosselin Kids! Sue your mom if she doesn't pay for your college. You work long hours, 40 episodes per season. Your private life, pee pee and crying moments are on public records. You deserve college fund! Any judge should grand you college fund.

Remember Kate made you stand next to the first poop you had for your potty training and she took the picture? Yeah. That's on DVD, too. I know. When I grow up, I would go berserk too after I find out everyone can access those images. without my permission

Did I see Kate blow air kisses to her kids with cake makeup on her face? Who does that? They all sit around the dinning table. The kids are 2 feet away from her. Air kisses? Can she just get her lard ass up and give them real kisses and hugs?

Who wears cake makeup at home? She is not interested in raising her children. She is into posing and striking a pose like a pop star. The only difference is a pop star actually has a real job to sing and dance in front of people. Kate doesn't have a job. Kate's "job" is all about selling her family and her kids' privacy.

Man, the show is ruined. It sucks so bad. It will never be the same. It's depressing. Kids are managing to cope and get used to just one parent at the time. Uncomfortable to watch!

Both parents' hearts are not home. They are not that into their kids. They look like they want to go out and do adult stuff with other adults. They look bored when they are with their kids.

Good time doesn't last. How depressing!

FakeJon&Kate said...

I can't help but tune in for a few minutes each week just to see the kids. I've watched the show since day one, and love the kids...but not Jon & Kate.

I'm so sick of Kate complaining about the paparazzi when she has cameras on her and her family constantly. She courts the paparazzi because the drama fuels the show at this point. Who is she trying to fool?

Why would any church want Kate to speak? You can talk the talk, but not walk the walk.

Someone previously stated that Kate will not speak to some of the kids someday. I agree. I think that's why Kate seems to gravitate toward Hannah. Hannah seems to be more introverted, quiet, and submissive. I think Kate knows she can control her. I think the stronger willed Gosselins will have a tough time maintaining a relationship with Kate as they mature...especially Alexis, Leah, Maddy, and Collin.

I'm so sick of both Jon & Kate and feel so sorry for the kids.

But what Kate is doing is even worse because she is exploiting children; her very own children, for her own sense of greed and fame. There really is no sewer too deep for this woman. P.S. I have not watched this freak-show in over 18 months and I can't tell you how glad I am to be 100% rid of this.

I always thought that Kate's refusal to try anything that Jon was good at was about competition rather than safety. She was unwilling, even back when the kids were small, to allow Jon to be the best at anything.
Kate's only sense of self-worth comes from pointing out the inferiority of others, when compared to her glorious self. Kate's refusal to participate in sports was never about safety.

I watched the show last night. I was struck at how out of place she seemed. She was isolated from the other participants and even the ranch workers seemed distant from her. So basically she looked like a snob trying to put on for the sake of the cameras. Actually...all the ranch workers seemed a little put off by her snobbery. That was my impression anyway. It's sad that she has become this fake celebrity and people are buying into it. I don't think people watch the show for the same reason they started watching...I think people watch the show to see what a wacko she has become. If that's her goal..to become a tabloid celebrity...what a sad life.

We have gone to Dude Ranches in NY and wearing a helmet is a requirement. The best part of the episode for me is when one of the boys said gleefully, "We can do anything we want because Mommy is not here"! How cute were they with the cats. Why did Khate have so many activities by herself??? I thought this was a trip with her sons. The fact that she is never seen with all eight kids at once should be proof enough that the new show should be titled, Khate CAN'T Do. Even with Stevie and all the PA's and nannies, she can't handle them. Speaking of nannies, I noticed the Asian not-nanny in Jon's portion, fixing the girls hair and such.

Didn't watch the show but don't judge anyone who did. Maybe the reason why Kate looks so fake while interacting with the kids is because she IS acting and being fake. I don't think she has much experience with those kids beyond yelling at their father to take care of them and yelling at them to keep in line. The militant behavior has not let up as the kids have matured and needed less help. Kate is just not a motherly person. She does not view her kids as individuals with feelings. So trying to act like a normal mom in front of the cameras is unnatural to her and must freak the kids out. Who is this woman with all this makeup on who is pretending to be nice to me when the cameras are on? Why is she suddenly paying attention to me? Where did the wooden spoon go? Maybe that's why the kids "don't mind" the cameras around so often; at least they get a break from their real mom while filming.

I watched some of it (sort of like watching a train wreck - you just can't look away). The part where Kate talks about riding the horse on the trail for some "me" time was ridiculous. First of all, why does she go away with *some* of her kids and then need to get away? But she kept talking about how she wanted to see if she could "do it". Like riding a horse on a trail at 2 mph is really hard. (Look, I'm not a rider but I've done it) She was so stinking proud of herself you'd think she cured cancer or something. She also talked repeatedly about how there were no paps. But she told this TO THE CAMERA! See the irony, Kate?
I did like the part where Jon put on the dress for the girls and pretended he was pregnant.

not the kid's fault said...

(1) YOU and you alone INVITED cameras into your life when you agreed to do your show, so PLEASE STOP complaining about unwanted attention. If you don't want cameras following you, ask the TLC crew to leave your living room. For the love of god, you make me sick.
__________________________________
I know we have debated this at length, but inviting cameras into your home is a bit different than being stalked by paparazzi that are just foaming at the mouth to see you spank a kid or flip out. I realize that you make yourself a public figure, and that paparazzi are just part of that lifestyle, a sacrafice you make to make money and such, but I do think the paparazzi cross a line. Countless celebrities (real ones, not central PA nobodies like J&K) have gotten into it with the paps. If people (like many on this site seem to be) weren't ravenous about getting their JJ or Radaronline fix every day, or their US Weekly in the mail every Friday, the role of paparazzi would be minimized.

So while Jon and Kate have sacraficed their children's innocence by putting them in the public eye, there is some level of integrity our media should have.

No one needs to see the Gosselin kids get on the bus, see where there bus stop is, and easily see their bus number. Someone needs to be held accountable for exposing these children to an even HIGHER level of danger.

Jon is not a great father. He is just not as harsh and controlling, more laid back. Someone else put the scavenger hunt together; either the producers or Kate. I'm sorry, Jon is not a better parent, and is barely adequate. Kate is an overbearing shrew but he needs to be told what to do. Loving your children does not make you a good parent. All of the activities on that show are contrived. Jon is a participant just like the kids and that's it.

I watched two quick segments of the show. It was hilarious yet sad that the riding instructor repeatedly told Kate that she could not scream or it would spook the horses (hmm, how'd he guess that she was high strung and dramatic?). She got up on her horse and screamed anyway.

It seemed all about her getting used to riding on a horse, NOT the boys. They were an afterthought.........it is truly the Kate Gosselin show now. Man does she love herself.

The 5 minutes that I watched of Kate's 'couch confessional' her demeanor appeared extremely forced and fake, as if she was recalling the events per a script provided for her via a tele prompter. She reminded me of a 'what's going on' tv news cast footage where a news caster is on location giving the run down of the 'happenings' at the local 4-H club county fair.

She still is who she is said...

All I could think back to was the episode where they went (green)
with Steve Thomas and how she mistreated EVERYONE, how he had to give her an HOUR by HOUR list of the work schedule. WHO does that. That is KATE, not the refried version we see now. She always lurked in the background with that miserable PUSS on her face, and made nasty remarks to Steve and the workers. AND it was ALL FREE!!

Sorry, but it is Jon & Kate's job to protect their children. Most parents would do anything to avoid this exposure. All J&K have to do is turn off the camera's.

Real celebrities know that paps are part of the job. An unwanted side effect, if you will. But that's the price to be paid, it comes with the JOB. Kate says her kids aren't working. REALLY? Millions are being earned, because you have a clown car for a uterus. All the wealth, the houses, the cars, the trips...it is all due to 8 little faces being on television.

The paps will go away if there is no show to get the inside scoop on. Without the show, there are no "stars" to stalk. Kate can either turn off the cameras, or stop BITCHING about the paps that surely will follow.

If she truly didn't care about them, would she paint her face to take out the trash, wear $300 shoes to pump gas, or play dress up with her hats and sunglasses? No. If she accepted it as part of the job, she could casually go about her business, like a normal mom. Take Jennifer Garner. You never see her in full makeup at the farmer's market. She is REAL. She knows she has a job that attracts paps, but she doesn't let it stop her.

Kate on the other hand? She can't separate her life from her job, and she doesn't WANT TO. The show is her job, the lifestyle of glitz and freebies is just normal to her now. Sad. If she'd just stop BITCHING about the paps, it'd be a bit more honest. She knows her income depends on them.

She needs the paps, she needs the kids, and some TLC cameras. She doesn't WANT the paps to go away, she thrives on it. She is an attention whore.

So when you blame the paps for taking pics of the kids on the bus, just remember: Mommy wouldn't want it any other way. She CHOOSES this for her children. If Mommy & Daddy won't protect you, who will.

Not the kids fault said
So while Jon and Kate have sacraficed their children's innocence by putting them in the public eye, there is some level of integrity our media should have.

They have the same level of integrity as the Gosselin parents do. They use the kids to make money, so do the paps. When you start exploiting your kids for filthy lucre, you open yourself up to that whole world and everything that comes with it.T he Gosselin parents chose to do that TO their children.

Not the kids fault said

"No one needs to see the Gosselin kids get on the bus, see where there bus stop is, and easily see their bus number. Someone needs to be held accountable for exposing these children to an even HIGHER level of danger.

Yeah, the parents who don't mind pimping their kids out to paps, for cash. The buck stops right there."

Kathy said...

I will NOT be watching this show anymore. This has turned into strictly CONSTANT "vacations" for these kids. In all honesty, the kids are no different from anyone else's. I wish we could afford to take 1/2 of the trips that they do. It's gotten boring as well as sad. The kids are acting more mature than the adults in this fiasco. Seriously, how many more story lines can TLC come up with to hold anyone else's attention? I know that we are living paycheck to paycheck and have NO extra money--so I'm certainly not going to stay home and watch the overpriced cable watching a family take weekly vacations....

Take Jennifer Garner. You never see her in full makeup at the farmer's market. She is REAL. She knows she has a job that attracts paps, but she doesn't let it stop her.
___________________________________
Sorry, but I'm 100% sure Jennifer Garner would rather not have the entire world see her daughter's face every day either. Whether or not she wears makeup has nothing to do with it. Some people aren't makeup people, but I don't leave the house without mascara on, does that make me evil, shallow, or stupid?

I agree, parents are responsible for their children. But that shouldn't give every other a-hole with a camera license to exploit the kids further. Obviously that is exactly what it does do, but it shouldn't.

I'm 100% for personal accountability... Jon and Kate should be protecting their kids as their absolute first priority. But if they choose to keep them in the public eye, don't we as good citizens have some level of responsibility to maintain? Not because we owe it to TweedleDee or TweedleDum, but because we owe it to society to be as decent of human beings as we can. If no one reads the tabloids, or visits gossip web sites, or blogs about the dumb show, then there is no market for the pictures, and eventually there is no market for the show either.

I personally think these kids are screwed without the show, because their parents are lazy and uneducated. But the same people on this blog that are on a soapbox about the exploitation of the Gosselin kids are guilty of their exploitation as well.

It's all about supply and demand. If a new video of the kids getting on the bus gets a million hits on Just Jared, they are gonna go take more pics and videos, because more visits to the site means more MONEY. It's about money for J&K, its about money for the paps, but for you, me, and the next guy its about entertainment. If you want it to end it has to start with us.

Several comments (out of thousands I could make!)

Kate going on and on about horseback riding, the scenery, and most of all, the HIKE - was so obnoxious. She needs to realize that a good portion of the country - namely, most of us west of the Mississippi - are quite familiar with wide open spaces, nature, beautiful scenery, and short little hikes. Going on about how her FIVE YEAR OLDS did that hard, hard, HARD hike....give me a break. They're kids - they're full of energy and stamina, and just because you NEVER take them out to do something like this, and because they were trapped in strollers for the first 3 1/2 years of their lives, doesn't mean they can't handle a short little jaunt. I'm dying to know how far that was...I'm sure it wasn't nearly as far as she was making it out to be. I'm hardly an outdoorsy type compared to many people I know, but my kids have done stuff like that since they can walk. Also - it is so dismissive and demeaning to REAL horsemen and women to go on about how EASY it is. Ummm....sure it's easy....the horse, who is trained to take tenderfeet like you on short trail rides, was WALKING. You did nothing except sit and not lean too far to one side. SHUT UP!!

Did anyone else notice how extremely hungover Jon looks when they're making the telephones out of cans? lol He has such a "omg, can we please just finish this stupid project for the show so I can go back to bed?" look on his face.

The pinecones were taken from the Sequoia National Forest in California. One of the things that always bothered me about that was not that J&K didn't realize they shouldn't do it (although it is a bit of a DUH thing...they did see other people carrying them), but that at least one of the crew saw the sign and/or knew they weren't supposed to, and didn't tell them until they got home. This is just innappropriate for a network that calls itself The Learning Channel. And even then, the producers chose to AIR the segment when they didn't have to, thus flaunting the raping of our national parks. Lovely.

Regarding the paparazzi and Kate: What "not the kid's fault" said is true - the media should bear some of the responsibility in not exploiting the Gosselin children and harassing the family. HOWEVER: K&J could have, a long time agao - once the paps started showing up - chosen to put the show on hold until their family life was under control. If they had done this, and just lay low for a few months (I'm not saying "don't leave your home" - just saying "act like a normal person"....make your coffee at home, have an assistant do errands like UPS, have birthday parties at home, shop online, don't go to five star LA restaurants, don't go on expensive trips....and save the trips out into public for normal stuff like going to the library or park with your kids, the grocery store once a week, etc. - once the hype has died down. Also - for the love of god, play in your BACKYARD where the paps can't see you. Then if you're STILL followed and harassed, you can complain. But I would bet that if you just cut it out and quit giving them material, they would go away.

Huh? Not long ago people were worried that the kids spent too much time together and not with other friends. And we know that all 8 kids ride the school bus together 3 times a week. It seems like the 8 spend more time together than most siblings I know.

Susan said...

All of the activities on that show are contrived.

That's for sure! Can you imagine the boys naturally feeling free to start throwing eggs without permission?? I don't think so. Very staged. It was actually quite dangerous to let little boys run around in a small enclosed space with horses, shrieking and she even said that the horses got scared. Very irresponsible and some little guy could have gotten kicked and hurt. Also irresponsible was the no helmet just because the cowboy hats were cuter.

There really is NO reason to have either parent in the show anymore. That and that alone is what makes it so damn uncomfortable. Kate's huge ego, Jon's dumb statements (here, I have to take care of 9 people and that's hard work. Yeah, for the hired help). The only thing that could make this show better is if it were only about the children and their natural responses. But that isn't necessarily what's best for the kids.

Im_in_PR said...

Susan said I'm afraid that many of you are defeating your purpose by writing to networks and sponsors because in their world, loving or hating the show is exactly the same.

If I may, from a professional standpoint, refute your assertion.
Firstly, you speak as if the networks and the sponsors share common ideas and goals. They do not.

The sponsor does not view all letters from viewers/consumers as "the same." Sponsors are extremely responsive to negative publicity and spend huge portions of their advertising budgets each year to make sure their product captures or retains "positive" publicity.

The network on the other hand, has a much higher tolerance for controversy. But this can only last so long, especially when TLC is so obviously exploiting innocent children. They are eventually going to bow to the social pressure, especially as the investigation by the PA labor board continues.

They are already trying to do some serious CYA work by stepping down (not much, but some) on the filming of the children in their home studio.

So no, from a PR standpoint, letters of complaint are not the same to the sponsor and the network. And they do matter.

I think that the reason that Kate had to go off and do things by herself had more to do with that she was not really welcome on the ranch. Of the two days that they showed the boys stayed with the Rancher's wife Lulu while she did her thing. There was obvious tension in the beginning of the episode when they were telling Kate that she could not scream because she would spook the horses. They really hammered on this which porbably pissed the Queen off and what we didn't see was the attitude she probably gave them about their attitude with her. And since TLC is scraping the bottom of the barrel for show content she had to stick it out and the same goes for the ranchers (if they wanted their money and/or publicity).
Did anyone else notice how she commented on the goat ecsaping and said that it happened by accident with air quotes? It really did seem that the goat got out by accident- but I almost think that she put the boys up to mischeif to pay the ranchers back for their lack of enthusiasm towards the star of the show.
She really is making this about her. This trip was supposed to be about the boys and she required so much of the attention not to mention air time.
Aside for whatever reason she was off on her own it was probably better that way for boys, so that they could have fun and be on the receiving end of the attention that their mom so desperately tries to hog.
Another thing I noticed was for kids who had two puppies they sure didn't seem like they knew the least bit about handling an animal. They were so rough with those cats and were pulling on them and everything. Again I think Kate told the boys to act up and give the rancher and his wife a hard time.
I know that there is a lot that we don't see behind the scenes and I'm sure that the rancher and his wife are very nice people and maybe not a nanny was there with them but I would have a hard time leaving my kids with otherwise complete strangers. Yes the film crew was there but leagally they are not responible for the boys. JMO.
I agree with the other poster that mentioned that the boys really need to be getting some speech therapy. It is so hard to understand them. They seem so very far behind when it comes to so many things. Like why would they call a horse a horse cow and they didn't know what cattle was. I'm sure some may think that this is nit picking and many 5 year olds might not know what cattle means but I have a neice that is a month and half older than the tups and she is light years ahead of them! I know that she is advanced but she was speaking better and had a much wider vocab when she was 2-3 years old.
Overall the episode wasn't that bad because the boys did have really good time and they deserve to, and I could have done without seeing so much of Kate but I kind of enjoyed that the others seemed annoyed with her and treated her like a child and genuinely acted like they did not want her there - to her face.

Omigosh! I watched a few moments of the second showing while I was getting ready for bed. I saw the part where Kate was shooting the .45 and it was obvious from the lack of recoil that it was loaded with blanks...and they didn't actually show her hitting the target. Then there was Mady and Cara's "concert" that "they" wanted to do...Mady sort of looked like she was singing but she wasn't miked, nor was Cara, sitting next to her strumming a guitar leftie (Mady's a leftie, but Cara's right handed), obviously not fretting it. (Aside from Dolly Parton I've never known anyone who could fret a guitar with long fingernails). The show is as phony as Kate's boobs and teeth.

Kate is surely Kate's biggest fan. She never ceases to amaze herself.

Her cackle was alive and well last night.

The boys had genuine fun last night. It must be so confusing to them to have their mom dote on them for the cameras and turn it all off when the cameras are off.

You know she had helpers along. She wouldn't have gone to all the trouble of dressing, undressing, and watching over those little guys. Some one else did it.

This is America. Unless you pass a law forbidding paps to snap pics of children, I'm afraid the mighty dollar will win out.

My comment about Jennifer Garner, was meant to illustrate my point: if Kate didn't care so much, neither would anyone else. Jennifer is photographed out and about with little Violet all the time. She never gets dolled up for the camera, and doesn't care which shots end up getting snapped. It doesn't make you "evil, shallow, or stupid" to leave the house wearing makeup (GMAB) but what I meant was; Kate spends an hour putting pancake makeup on because she wants to look good in her photos. She doesn't send a PA to do her errand running to the freaking UPS store, she does it herself so she can get her pretty picture taken.
She wears a hot pink shirt, hat, jacket and black SPANDEX bike shorts to run errands at Ulta. Ulta is a makeup store.

She wants to be photographed. That is my point. So she should STOP BITCHING about it.

Observances from last night:

1) If Kate wants to shoot the covers of tabloids with her gun, she's shooting her own photograph.

2) Any mother who has spent time with her children would be well aware of their physical limits, not "amazed" that the boys could take a hike through the woods.

3) The boys have never been taught to be kind and gentle to animals. Those poor kittens...

4) Kate has no communication skills with anyone, adult or child. She only seemed interested in interacting with the camera/crew.

5) If you're going to buy clothes appropriate for a dude ranch, wouldn't it be nice to buy the right sizes? Hers seemed too small and the boys shirts were way too big.

6) I adore the Gosselin boys but they really do have speech problems and they clearly don't want to sit still on the couch and answer ridiculous questions.

7) I loved watching Jon play with the girls - contrived activities or not, they seemed to have fun together and he was seen actually talking to them, interacting with them and enjoying their individuality.

about Kate shooting the gun--I didn't see the episode, but all I can think of is Annette Benning's character in American Beauty shooting the gun when she starts having that affair with the Real Estate King. Come to think of it, Kate is acting kind of like Annette Benning's character. She is such a made up human. Makes you wonder what an empty soul she really is.

I don't have an opinion on whether or not people should own a gun, that's your consitutional right, but showing a mom doing it and kind of making light of it seems really irresponsible of TLC. That's JMO. I think at this point they're totally mocking this whole thing and playing it to the hilt.

As for the reference to the pinecone episode--I must say that I wouldn't have known that was a "no no" to take pinecones from a national forest! But if I did (and let's face it, I'm not going to a national forest any time soon), I wouldn't shove them in a box in my garage like they did. What was the point of doing it anyway?

Same thing with People. They put people on the cover who sell the most magazines..whether you like them or not.

To an animal young kids can be unpredictable, loud, and can physically hurt them. What happened wasn't cute and funny as Kate tried to spin it (go visit an animal shelter Kate and see how many animals are dumped there because parents never took the time to teach their kids to respect animals). How would she like being held by force, twisted, screamed at, and chased? If the boys treated the kittens that badly how do you their puppies were treated?

If the would get rid of kate, I hate to admit it, but I would be looking forward to watching the Jon plus 8 show every week. The kids are adorable when they are on the screen and since I am not around children on a daily basis, I love to watch them. However, I cringe when I see fake Kate. Uuuggh! I do feel sorry for these kids that Kate is their mother. She doesn't beat them but otherwise she contributes little to their life. They probably get more attention and learn more from their nannies and Jon is the more natural parent. As far as them having a good life, that is their own doing... and TLC's. Get rid of Kate!

I saw pictures of Jon with his mother on theinternet and his mother is beautiful and to me, she looks like Alexis. I was so happy to see a grandparent of these darling kids. To be honest, I would be happy if they did an episode with the grandmother.

I don't want to see the kids exploited so I am selfish in that I love to watch them. If TLC is going to keep up with the show, I do wish they would focus more on the kids and Jon. I do not feel that the kids are under developed or that they will have any problems inlearning. The boys may not speak perfectly now and they may be behind other kids their ages... but they will catch up. They are around a lot of adults. Kate is too busy doing her 2 hour daily workout and getting her hair done to ever really teach the kids anything.

Idealistic said...

Absolutely the networks, such as ABC, are simply thrilled to get tons of letters protesting Kate's appearance. The only way Kate will stop getting gigs is if we all stop watching her on TV and stop buying any magazine with her in it. I just don't know if we have the strength it needs (collectively) to actually stop watching and stop looking at the pictures.. because frankly it is entertaining and it takes us away from our own lives and problems to be able to have a front row seat to someone else's dysfunctional life. I wish that we (collectively) could truly do the right thing and give up watching Kate. but this means changing our society at the core. This means not buying any tabloids, not looking at any of the online celebrity sites and not watching any of the celebrity shows such as Entertainment Tonight. This means we would have to read good books instead or go outside and face our own lives. I hope that we can do it one day.

Dear Lord, I think last night might have been the phoniest show yet. Kate in cowboy duds? Ouch - who wears high heels and a pink shirt? Saints preserve us.

That fake accent - apparently supposed to be a cowpoke accent - was horrible.

She is obviously doing damage control for her negative remarks about 'icky' boys but then goes off on trail rides and shooting guns without them.

Is there NO ONE on the show who could tell her to knock off the fake 'nice' attitude because there is no way it is genuine. Makes my teeth hurt - maybe all the sugar is going right to a loose filling or something.

Positive or negative adoration, she LOVES both equally. Any other sane person would become totally depressed if they heard/read all the ugly comments made about them. But not Khate, she keeps showing those chichlette teeth of hers and going and going!!

Susan said...

Vanessa, I agree with you. I just recently found this site and now I realize that I was not helping by posting comments on other sites. Be it positive or negative, it helps the show to have any kind of interest and I will stop posting anywhere but here.

It's just that it drove me crazy to see people post with such passion who is the better parent/person. I believe that this "taking sides" was set up by TLC and so many people fell for it. To me, it is obvious that TLC came up with a plan to save the show after the kids turned 5, the divorce became known and taking sides is a great way to keep interest alive.

The turning "green" episode is the one where Kate acted the absolute worst and I still cringe when I think of it. How could TLC not see that the way she acted in that episode would cause a lot of resentment ... or maybe they did and they really don't care if people love or hate the show as it is the same. Indifference is the only thing that can stop the show.

How much do you want to bet every time the director yelled "cut", Jon ran outside to grab a smoke and text his bimbos. His goofy, pseudo-charming boyish act doesn't fool me a second, he's just as into himself and thinks of the kids as mealtickets like Kate does.

It was interesting that in this episode Kate was shown more of what she was like before the pity party began. I,I, I, and Me, Me, Me over and over - told 3 times not to scream around the horses, disinterested in the new experiences her children were having unless it could be turned back around to her. No touches of affection for the boys. Oh! - how "scared" she was! Me, Me, Me! She talked about finally being free from the dreaded P- People yet could not have been more coy and cute with the TLC crew and cameras and apparently her bodyguard. "See how cute and funny I am! I wore spike heels to a dude ranch!"

And of course, treating the dude ranch employees as if they were inferior - so coy. So cute was Kate in her own mind! And she teaches her children to be the same way.

When Kate asked if she could put a tabloid cover up for target practice - "Yes!" we all shouted in unison. "The recent covers of Kate on People Magazine!!!"

So either TLC realized they needed to go back to showing more of the irritating Kate for ratings or TLC simply could not come up with an hour show of Kate actually having decent and respectful interactions with the lowly employees of the Dude Ranch.

Everyone - letters of complaint DO make a difference. Don't believe the comments that ABC and TLC just count all letters regarding the show as positive. Most of all - letters to sponsors really make a difference. How many sponsors did Glenn Beck just lose?

Persevere on behalf of the Gosselin children. Thanks.

And really - who is Kate always looking to off camera for affirmation and attention? The guy they hit with eggs?

Jon almost did fill out the boobs in Kates dress(man-boobs?)It looked nice on him......

Joel speaks with a lisp and almost like a 2-3 yr old in my opinion. Its normal for some kids though. In my opinion, this is because they live such an isolated life. Does the Asian nanny speak english?

Say what you will about Jon and his recent weird behavior. He is still hands down the best parent between the two of them and the kids ADORE him and seem happy with him. No matter what goes on in the tabloids, in vegas or new York, what goes on between Jon and the kids is genuine and needs to be supported.

.....You know she had helpers along. She wouldn't have gone to all the trouble of dressing, undressing, and watching over those little guys. Some one else did it.

******

Can we assume the children are dressing themselves? They are 5!
Having some trouble tying shoelaces I understand, but pulling on pants, buttoning a shirt and putting on socks should be normal activities for them by now!

She goes away with her kids but still needs to venture out on her own? Why can't she just hang out with her kids?

I don't often defend Kate but maybe she just wanted to go horseback riding. I was checking out (internet) some of the ranch vacations in WY last night after the show and most said that to ride horses on the trail kids have to be over 8.

to the person that said kate was at the beach by herself with the kids. DO YOU REALLY think she was at the beach by herself.

the kids never wear helmets, bike riding, horseback riding or the twins when they were ice skating for the first time.

when Hannah went on her special day she didnt seem to enjoy the horseback riding to me.

WHAT THE HECK WERE THOSE BOYS EATING LAST NIGHT THAT STILL HAD TOENAILS ON IT. That was just gross. amazing that she would make her kids eat something just for the camera when she even thought it was gross.

Normal for most happy, healthy 5 year olds. K8 nor Jon can be bothered to teach the kids the basics of reading and writing, I highly doubt they have spent time to teach them to dress themselves. K8 doesn't care, she doesn't get them dressed, never has, never will.

Kate may not be the best mother, but who do you think does EVERYTHING? She runs their everyday lives.

Sheri, K8 does NOTHING but RUIN their lives. Big difference.

Sheri, Jon's behavior lately outside of the home does leave something to be desired. The party boy image IS ridiculous and has alienated many fans. But he is a good dad and while Kate went on her book tour HE did everything for those kids, and did it without being photographed by the paparazzi. Of the two of them, Kate is far more interested in being caught on film. If you strip away all the hype and look at how each parent treats the kids, talks to them, shows them affection, the important stuff, Jon wins in my opinion.

Are you kidding? They are both terrible parents and it's useless to argue which is the worst. You are basing your information by what you see on t.v.

They spend equal time with the kids. Two weeks on and two weeks off. Kate used to do everything in the old episodes but hasn't done "anything" for a long time. Hell, she's hardly every home. What does is accomplish to argue over which is the best/worst parent? They're both bad.

Jon is being a jerk but at least he DID stuff with the kids dress up, went to pretend rock concert, scavanger hunt, made the tin can radios.
what did Kate DO WITH the boys except made them in chicken toenails for tv ratings.

HER 'not a nanny', personal chef, personal assistants, production staff, production staff helpers, 'inner circle of enablers', Steve, 'the body gaurd', and other various full and part time staff on her or TLC's payroll. That's WHO.

Bwahahahaha! Those were chicken feet but don't fret, Red Reflet Ranch has organic chicken and eggs (which the kids threw at the staff.)

Do you mean the nanny that they have never had, and would absolutely never have? LOL! You forgot, in addition to the full-time nanny, the babysitter (s) du jour.

Kate looooooooves the papprazzi. ... She is just playing hard to get. This is what happens when someone has nothing better to do.
-------

If Kate, with all her time and money, had any class at all, she would be volunteering somewhere -- soup kitchen, hospital, senior center, whatever. That's what high-class wealthy women do -- they do not waste their time and take it all for granted. They give back.
A lot.

For what reason? If this is true, then why did he move to New York? Why not move back into the E-Town house, or purchase a home near them? He has no pressing business that necessitates his being in New York City. If he had, it might be a different story. Seems to me that a hand-on father would want to be near his children, especially when his soon-to-be ex is off on publicity relations excursions.

Has anyone else mentioned yet how nicely the girls with the dresses on were sitting on the interview couch? Very ladylike this time and taking care to make sure their dresses were covering their knees.

I didn't catch the name of the ranch but after the show went on the net to research, thought it would be someplace exciting to go (expensive). that was the place I looked at there were several but just chose one.
I think the children are very disrespectful the way the boys were yelling at the women to clean up the broken egg. goodness does others allow their children to talk to people like that. I really think that must be the way Kate talks to help where else would the children of learned to talk in such a disrespectful way

This was written by "anonymous" but I am putting it up. Just a reminder that you have to choose a name!

Since when did Kate become an "outdoor" girl?! Th... Since when did Kate become an "outdoor" girl?! This whole episode is so ridiculous. What in the world is TLC trying to do by marketing Kate as the new Annie Oakley?

This reminded me of the old publicity pictures studios would have done of their glamorous stars and their children. As though they were your mom-next-door, they'd pose Jayne Mansfield cooking breakfast for her kids or Lana Turner reading her daughter a bedtime story. Truth was that Jayne was long gone to the studio by the time the kiddies awoke and Lana was having cocktails before dinner when her little princess was being tucked in.

Does anyone really think that we'll ever see Kate on a horse again? That she really rode and hiked and shot a gun when the cameras weren't running? I'd put money on the idea that as soon as TLC got enough footage to stretch into an episode lasting from 8 to 9 pm, Kate was outta there. Does anyone know how long they actually stayed there? It looked to me that they did two days of filming; it seemed that they were wearing the same clothes thru most of the episode. And since the hotel they stayed at was not shown (not even the boys in the pool), I am guessing that it was a luxurious one that would not have fit the image of Kate "roughing" it on a ranch.
