I just saw the pics of the Parents of the Year taking the kids to the doctor. I didn't see any girl tups, just the boys and the twins.

Just thought it was kind of odd they BOTH had to be there that. Was it being filmed by TLC? Oh, wait...probably not...Kate wasn't in full porcupine spike mode.

Anonymomma said...

I saw these too but it says all 8 were there. I wonder though, was this a regular visit or was this medical clearance to leave the country?

just wondering said...

Couple of thoughts.

Jon's new apartment and girlfriend are a royal gift for TLC. The show was stale and was only surviving on spikes of controversy.

There is zero chance of any normal woman being interested in Jon and his posse of paparazzi. No woman who values her privacy will go near him in the near future, so we are stuck with Hailey or another just like her until the smoke clears.

Steve returning.. Divorce papers are filed so they don't have to worry about the gossip anymore. The gossip actually fuels the ratings. As long as people are talking they will be watching.

If the Gosselins had been on the Titanic it might never have sunk is what I'm thinking.

Merrilee said...

Though it says all 8 went to the doctor, we see only twins and boys. Since when do the paparazzi get everything right?

And yes, Kate sure does look stupid in hats.

GETOFFMYPHONE said...

Has anyone else noticed that the twins seem to wear the same clothing in every tabloid story? I've seen Cara in those black shorts at least 10 times!

I guess Gymboree really isn't giving them any more free clothing. J&K sure can spend money on themselves but have the kids wearing the same crap for weeks.

so what happened to the hiatus? No filming for what was it, 6 weeks?

I did my grocery shopping today and the couple ahead of me at the checkout was talking to the cashier about J&K...and the guy said "what are they famous for anyway?"...and the cashier said "they aren't famous..they're nobody...they just had more kids than they can afford but for some reason they keep putting these people on every magazine cover...it's sickening".

I stayed quiet but smiled....she hit the nail on the head :)

You reminded me of this story in The Hollywood Reporter that made me laugh:

At its annual shareholder's meeting Thursday, Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz proclaimed her solidarity with a man who practically begged her to reduce the amount of "Jon & Kate Plus 8" and similar celebrity news off the home page.
...
"What I see when I log on Yahoo 10 times a day is a lot of Hollywood news, a lot of Entertainment Weekly," a shareholder complained to Bartz during the question-and answer period of the meeting.

Bartz waved her hands and shook her head in agreement and attempted to chime in a few times, but the shareholder wasn't finished.

"I am sick of hearing about those guys with the eight kids," he said.

"Please stop dumbing down the home page. We can use CNN-type stuff. We can handle it. Give us something that's not Hollywood," the shareholder said before Bartz interrupted.

"Can I speak now, because this is my favorite topic," she said. "I'm the same way. If I see another Britney Spears thing, I'm gonna throw up."
...
"I very much understand your issue," she told the shareholder.

"My I.Q. thanks you," he responded.

KATE................first we had to look at that crazy concoction of a hairdo, now we have to look at the crazy hats. She definitely doesn't have the face that can sport hats well. Could she have possible cut her hair a different style and wants to surprise us all on her beloved TV show? What ever the reason, I get a good laugh at her ever changing hats!!!

someone on here mentioned about the twins wearing the same clothes in every pap picture lately...I think, from experience with my children and grandchildren, that the twins have been given rein to pick out their own clothing they want to wear for the day, which at their age it is about time. My oldest Grandson who is six, has been given that decision and he has a pair of pants and a pair of shorts that he will go for every time. He has draws full of clothing but he likes two particular pairs of shorts/pants because they make him look like a certain character on television. Maybe the twins are the same way, they just have their favorite comfy clothes they like to wear and may have more than one pair of them too. Just a thought from my own experience with children.

as far as Steve coming back, a huge mistake...or all part of the pr ploy this all is..?? Who knows, but what I do know is that if the paps start hounding the wife of Steve, taking pics, trying to ask her how she feels about it, etc. things will change in a hurry. That is where I would go if I were a pap. To the source, she knows the answers. They are being guided, by who? That would be the 64,000, I mean, the 10,000,000 dollar question. I am beginning to think that TLC and J&K are all in this together just for the money and to heck with the kids, or whomever else they hurt along the way. It is beyond comprehension how persons could be so cruel!

They are both so pathetic. First of all, we all watch while Jon wears his "bible verse" t-shirts. Okay, then he goes through his phase of wearing the "no worries, beef curry" or whatever surfer dude t-shirts. Now, every photograph we see him in the ugly Ed Hardy "I'm so cool and trendy" t-shirts. He is so immature! He tries to make a statement, but he doesn't quite know what it is or who exactly he wants to be when he grows up. Which is it Jon, the "Christian", the "surfer dude in Hawaii", the "snowboarding, hanging out with college kids" guy, the "cool, motorcycle riding, diamond stud ear ring wearing, tattooed, smoking, Ed Hardy guy". How about forgetting about all of those "wanna be" guys and just being a good Dad to your 8 children. Remember how you said you were worried about them "googling" you one day. Apparently you're not so worried about that anymore because you are making yourself look like an idiot. Why the need to take your young girlfriend (while you are still technically married) on vacation? Nice example you are setting for your children. How would you feel if your daughters went on vacations with married men, when they are in their early 20's? Or would you be proud to hear of your sons leaving your grandchildren one day so that they can have affairs with younger women? What about the million dollar apartment in NYC? Why so far away? Don't they have decent, cheaper apartments near the Kon-pound in PA? Oh, right, it's not as "cool". Yes Jon, one day your children will be adults and they will google you and I think you will have a lot of explaining to do.

I have an technology question I've been wondering about for a while. When the kids are all grown up, will they be able to search and find info on the controversy surrounding them, the blogs, the tabloids, etc? I know people say they will be able to but I would think it will all be pretty well buried by then.

The way I calculate it, there should be plenty of Michael Jackson back in the news full steam about the time of the season premiere. He seems to have buried them to the bottom of the pile. Even the supposed engagement is only getting lack luster front page time.

How are real people who live in the REAL world and who are going through a divorce supposed to relate to these 2? 2 parents living in a million dollar home with one having an apartment in NYC and traveling all over the world when TYPICALLY there is a financial strain on at least one parent and they don't come together to make money off the backs of their kids when getting a divorce. I for one won't be watching to see the how TLC spins the ice that forms between the 2 of them for the season. This is a time when the cameras don't need to be in the kids faces. Expect more melt downs than usual because the tups are about the ages that the twins were when the major meltdowns began on screen when things were supposedly good.

Hopefully we are nearing the end.

You know, I think this family/show is getting new followers. They are the kinds of people who watch "The Real Housewives...", "Family Jewels", "The Osbournes" "Paris Hilton MBFF" etc... THAT genre of reality show. THIS is what the show has turned into.
Dysfuntion, adultry, scandal, confrontation, paparazzi, SCRIPTED REALITY!! The only problem is THOSE other shows started out being this way AND the "stars" already HAD $$$. These two saw the possiblities and ran with it, and turned out to be JUST like THOSE stars...self-centred, self-serving, ego-maniacs, ready to make the next buck at any expense, selling out their families/children/friends. It just doesn't jive with the average family. Their new following are people just like them who lack integrity and want a life just like them. OR they're people who just want a good laugh!!

Jon & Kate Plus 8 is a show on TLC. TLC is known as "The Learning Channel" related to "Discovery". I strive to reason what we have "learned" from Jon & Kate Plus 8 up to now:
(1) Tummy tucks are unnatural, vain & your husband may fall in love with the tummy tuck doctor's daughter.
(2) Hair implants are unnatural, vain & a precursor to an early mid-life crisis so large it will ruin many lives simultaneously.
(3) Creating children in methods and volume that are acquainted to the same odds as "shooting craps" is unnatural, vain & leads to a devastated, empty life of greed and grief.
(4) Television cameras, production strangers, hot lights, body guards, nannies, cooks, producers, directors, PR, books, clothes and promotions are unnatural, vain & do NOT make a happy childhood.
(5) Mismatched furniture given out of love to a new family in need are more beautiful than any furniture money can buy. To not recognize and cherish these true gifts is unnatural, vain & show your true character.
(6) Casting away every family member, friend and volunteer in your life one by one is unnatural, vain & shows that your life is truly empty, It is desperate for balance...not ratings or wealth!
Lessons Learned..."The Learning Channel"...What will be the next Discovery?

I have grown weary and tired of these two. The ONLY interest I have are the kids but that will not be enough for me to watch their show. I only wish and I have said it several times, that the state of PA would step in with the kids and wouldn't it be a hoot if one of Kates relatives got custody and a barrel of money to care for them!!! Without them they are nothing. They both sicken me equally.

I don't think the show is about people relating to this family anymore. It will get its ratings from people who want to watch the soup opera, people who will want to snark on everything Kate and/or Jon does, and the teens who just think the kids are so cute.

I expect it will do better than most cable shows even if the ratings are around what they were for the Last Ten Years episode.

I posted something in the last weekly thread and I'm not sure if it came out the right way. I know TLC is all about the money, no questions asked. But with all the controversy about the Gosselin children being exploited, how can they renew Toddlers and Tiaras? A show with so many sick parents making small children look like prostitutes is beyond me. When I first saw an ad for this, all I could think about was Jon Benet Ramsey, and I was sickened. TLC should be ashamed of themselves and put on notice.

I just got a peek at a "clone" of Jon's New York apartment on RadarOnline. I wouldn't give you $150.00 a month to live there. I think it's u.g.l.y. But that's just an opinion. What do I know about modern design?

Where I live, apartments larger and prettier than his go for about
$550.00 a month. Much more sensible.

Location IS everything!

Wonder what comes with this? A maid and a chef? Valet parking?
Wonder where all the crew are going to stand and where they're going to park on apartment filming days. Stay tuned! Then again, maybe stay tuned out!

The state of PA is not going to take the kids away from the parents unless there is clear evidence of physical abuse; eminent danger to the children. A swat on the behind is not clear evidence. If the kids go to school with bruises or one of the people that have witnessed whatever beatings have occurred (if any) will testify then CPS will investigate.

If being selfish parents was a "remove the kids from their home" offense, there would be lots more kids not living with their parents in this country.

I think the only thing the state can do is influence filming schedules if TLC did not comply with the law. But I bet they did fill out every permit .. and dot every i and cross every t.

The complete 4 seasons DVD set is there for the kids to watch anytime. Plus there will be numerous made-for-tv movies...count on it.

The kids' immature parents couldn't hide their idiocy if they tried, and they don't have the conscience to try anyway.

Sadly, they will know everything. And soon too, they are growing up fast. Mady and Cara probly know all of it.

What do these children do other then stay at home and piddle around on the front lawn, occasionally ride a bike, trail after their mother as baggage to the store, and go to Dr.s appts.?
No friends, no family, no sports or summer programs, no vacation bible school, no pool programs with other kids, no outside activities at all. Its like an outdoor prison. At that age children LOVE looking forward to seeing their friends and having something of their very own to do.
Every child gets tired of playing solely with their siblings. SO very dysfunctional. Yet the parents say they are happy? Just wait.

......................

Toddlers and Tiaras is so easy not to watch.

Now, if every week they showed the same toddlers going to their cutsey little performances, along with their idiot parents, their audience would soon be TOO well acquainted with them.

People would begin to object because
"Familiarity breeds contempt."

If J&K had not been on TV one million times, we would not have become as familiar with their ignorant, selfish, cruel, even evil ways.

Too bad, TLC got kicked in the stomach on this one.

If we had seen once a year how this family has progressed, we would not have learned to dislike them so strongly.

When Little People Big World dominated TLC, people did begin objecting to how Amy treated Matt, how disrespectful the kids are to their parents, how disgustingly dirty their house is, when Matt went to court for his DUI, etc. etc. etc.

Yep, TLC did themselves in on J&K.

Exhausted said...

What do they pay for?

We keep saying how they're burning through the kids money, but I really wonder what J+K pay for. Does TLC/Figure 8 pay for the house and all related household expenses (upkeep, utilities, even groceries, nannies, helpers)? Is it the same for Jon's NYC clean slate nest? I wonder if Kate even pays for the gas in her car when we see her out or the groceries she supposedly bought recently or the hotel room she stays at when mean daddy throws her out. Does Starbuck set her up with free wench-flavored java?

The trip to France was probably comped by Ed Hardy, and the supposed skull ring was probably comped as well. So they might just be living a life of pure clueless bliss with everything taken care of as though you had a secret sugar daddy. How about the private school tuition? I can't imagine their forking this out...but maybe it's their one expense.

So the scariest question of all is this: what the heck happens when the show dries up? None of these freebies will be there anymore. And how will these two clueless animals cope? Does TLC just turn the house over to them then and say good luck? The poor kids won't know what hit them....Hope the donkey parents are taking advantage of all these gifts and saving, but well....

Agree. Highly doubt that the 'p-people' would 'get away' with blocking one's ability to access a public building, especially a building where doctor/medical offices reside. I also agree the Gosselin 'family trip' to the doctor for check ups was for the purposes of filming an upcoming episode. Description likely to read, With the school year fast approaching, J & K come together and spend the day in preparation for the tups to begin pre K , including a trip to the doctor. Yawn.

Just now channel surfing and something called "Raising Sextuplets" came on WE TV. Same song, second verse... Let's make a list: there's the supposedly sainted mom of sextuplets grocery shopping while pontificating to us about her high priority of feeding her kids 'chemical-free/organic healthy food' Then we have the requisite 'playful' sparring between husband and wife while being filmed for their joint on-camera interview. LOh, yes, lots of maternal comments about 'not having enough hours in the day' and how difficult it all is juggling work and family life - check. Mom and Dad shown on that 'special' intimate (despite the TV camera and sound crew there)dinner out together without the kids. And, oh yes, much like the L&D RN former life of Kate, this mom of tups is reportedly a Physician's Asst. in an ER (presumably 'til the TV megabucks begin to roll in). Deja vu: this is absolutely the identical program/script formula as the early days of J&K+8.

Everyone, set your timers: how long can it possibly be before we start seeing this couple show up in tabloids with total make overs, flashy cars, an acred mansion - all (say it with me now)pronouncing ad nauseum, "For our chiiiildren. Everything we do is for our chiiiiildren.' (uh huh, sure.)

This 'reality' TV tripe is metasticizing like a malignancy. Time for some chemotherapy. Make that 'WE: no!!' therapy - Time for me to contact WE to register my vote against their jumping headlong onto the TV Trash Train by broadcasting yet another 'reality' program about Life in the Litter.

Kate Gosselin and kids in N.Y.C.

Photo by: Winslow / Meinelt / Splash News Online
Summer fun in the city? More likely just a short business trip.

Kate Gosselin and her eight children, plus two baby sitters and security, arrived at a midtown Manhattan hotel Saturday morning and stayed for a few hours before departing again, apparently headed to a TLC marketing event. Also on hand at the hotel were the Duggar family, stars of their own TV reality show, and Jen Arnold and Bill Klein of Little People: Just Married.

As the family walked through the marble lobby – with Jon Gosselin notably missing – Kate impatiently told one of her sextuplets, evidently in response to a question, "Yes, this is where we are staying."

Every member of the family, featured on the TLC reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, wore light summer attire: Kate, 34, was in jeans and high strappy sandals, her twin girls, 8, in pink and white stripped dresses. The five-year-old sextuplets: girls in yellow dresses, boys in blue shorts and shirts.

By the time they left, nearly four hours later, each of the Gosselins had changed into new, color-coordinated outfits.

Meanwhile, Jon Gosselin, 32, was spotted at his new apartment on Broadway, dropping off belongings and a large flat screen TV. He recently reunited with the kids after a vacation in the south of France with his new girlfriend Hailey Glassman.

For crying out loud Khate, if you wanna be noticed you need to change out your 'accessories' every so often. The Starbucks attached to your hand is getting way old, the floppy hats are becoming too predictable (besides, they're ugly), and what's with the denim skirts?? Oh, and those lime-green wedgies that match your t-shirt, YUCK!
Sorry, but if you don't want to be picked on, then get back inside your cave and make yourself invisible. If you're aiming for Hollywood, forget it. The only thing you have going for you right now is that you're the current laughing stock for SO many people. Grow up, get a life, and earn some respectibility. Most importantly, concentrate on being the best mom you can possibly be.

What I want to know is how so much was kept under wraps for so long!

I know that we all knew that something was VERY amiss from the beginning, but I for one was totally shocked with how fast everything seemed to crumble.

I'm thinking that when Kate said that Jon had made some bad decisions, that she was NOT just talking about the girlfriend thing. I think she knew that somehow info was leaked out by someone and the lid to the charade was blown off.

It doesn't make sense to me for Jon and Kate to have such a big house when the whole family can't enjoy it together.

They had it all...complete with the two sweet German Shepherds and lots of land to play on.

They COULD have had a happy life...together.

They blew it, and the kids get to pay the price.

No one probably even KNOWS anyone thats had all this turmoil in their lives ever, let alone in a year. Even the dullest person would know it was time to stop, take a breath, and save the children at all costs. The whole senario is surreal. Boyfriends, girlfriends, running all over the country, puchasing a mansion, moving from a home that never sold, off to the Carolinas, Calif, the North, the South, East and West, France, nannies, cooks, motorcycles, cakes, a Chef, new cars, kids schools, parties, fighting, leaving, coming, hotels, packing, unpacking, crooked houses, dogs. Good Lord! What the heck kind of life are they living? No wonder none of them can practically tell you what DAY it is.

Could TLC execs be so arrogant to think they can get away with this crap about the Gosselin 8 "not working" when they're filming in NY, a state with much stricter laws than PA regarding minor actors?

Oh, yes, I guess they probably COULD be...

If they don't have work permits and don't deposit money in the children's accounts within 15 days, I hope the state of New York comes down on them like a ton of bricks!

TLC: I told you we'd be watching! How about letting us know whether you're scofflaws in NY, too?

Reporters: Are you paying attention? (Well, those of you who aren't aren't disgracing your profession by serving readers whatever the publicists feed you...)

I live close to where the Masche live so I have followed their story. I certainly do not agree with filming kids , doesn;t matter if it be Gosselins or Masche.

There are big differences between the couples to start. Jenny and Bryan both have masters degrees, and had good careers and health insurance that paid for their kids (not the state). Also Bryan served for several years in Iraq(which is world of difference then Jon immaturity). I was very surprised to see the home they live in because on their salaries they certainly could afford more (without the show). They easily make over 100k a year and here in the southwest with the housing market so bad, and tons of construction professionals out of work, even building a huge home would be affordable for the family based on income. They supposedly own a bunch of rental properties in town for income as well.

I hope they do not start taping 60 episodes a year and they keep family and friends around as they have shown. Only time will tell.

What is good is that with or without the show, the family could do fine financially especially Jenny, PA's are in very high demand in this area (AZ NV southern UT with lots of aging, very few grdauates of PA schools vs demand) and with the rental income and Bryan being a Pharmectical Rep they have a pretty solid future without freebies or a show.

I'm thinking the coffee cup is nothing more than another product placement.

Bet she got a "coupon" from a coffee company for all the lattes she can hold, and in exchange, she flashes around their logo on her disposable cup every time she leaves her house. Do we ever see her actually drinking out of the coffee cup? We've seen her drinking water out of a plastic bottle, but to my knowledge she's never even sipped the coffee in public. And, she was balancing it with her cell phone in one hand right over her son's head as they were going to the Dr's office - it would be either very hot or very "ruinacious" if she dribbled any of it out of that cup and onto that boy's head. I vote it's empty and just there in her hand for the coffee company promotion.

If you just stand back for a moment and assess everything that's happened in that family in the past year, its SO hard to believe its actually taken place.

And we must not forget, through all the above mentioned , the Gosselin children have had the additional intrusion of a camera production crew and boom mic being constantly shoved in their face(s)!!!

There's a good article at The Wrap discussing children in reality TV. Check out this part about J&K+8:

“We received a complaint, and an investigator has been assigned,” Department spokesman Troy Thompson told TheWrap. “Now we’re reviewing the case, which means interviewing the principles, interviewing anyone who has information and going over the company documents.”

At the core of the investigation is whether the Gosselins’ Wernersville, Penn., home constitutes a formal TV set, where the children are being instructed and directed. If so, it would bring the production under the state's child labor laws.

If not -- if it’s considered merely a domestic environment where they are being observed and filmed with little direct interaction with producers and crew – the state would have no grounds for violation, and the investigation will be closed.

The immediate consequences could be a fine -- which, according to the state’s laws, can range from $200 to $1,500 -- or “to undergo an imprisonment of not more than 10 days, or both, at the discretion of the court.”

What??? That's IT? Well, that's ridiculous, unless they also stop the filming. And where are the interviews the PA DoL claims they're going to do? According to Aunt Jodi's sister, no one has been interviewed!

We KNOW that the children are directed by the production staff. They admit the episodes are loosely scripted before shooting! Maybe THAT'S why Kate has such a freakin' conniption if anyone talks to the cameras when they're "being natural." (She does it herself, though!)

Also, doesn't PA or anyone in authority think it's odd that they're acting like the children are in a zoo and don't deserve payment for being filmed in their "domestic environment," while:

*KATE and Jon not only get paid, but they demanded a RAISE! Surely Kate's not trying to act like the only times she's "performing" are when she's on the couch! We know better! And now they've had the kids on the couch, too!

So what's the deal, Kate? If you're news, I guess you should participate for free, huh? Let TLC make all the money. Oh, that's right...not being paid is only fair treatment for the kids.

*The production staff has gone to great lengths to take them away from their "domestic environment." North Carolina, Utah, California, etc! Please! This family would struggle to afford to go to Hershey Park under normal circumstances. (Heck, taking them to the MOVIES could be quite an expense!)

I am so pissed off at these people.

Paul Petersen has suggested that we on Gosselins Without Pity mount a formal letter-writing campaign to the PA Dept. of Labor. I'm going to ask the moderators if I can publish excerpts from his e-mail. I will also try to get some contact information together. I guess we could start with PA DoL spokesman Troy Thompson, quoted above.

Please note the quotes from Dr. Drew Pinsky, host of VH-1’s “Celeb Rehab and co-author of "The Mirror Effect: How Celebrity Narcissism Is Seducing America":
“These shows can open the kids to a level of public scrutiny, of shame and of failure. You have to ask yourself if that is conducive to positive outcomes as they get older.”

“Children can't give informed consent by definition, only the parents can do that -- and reality shows generally don't cast adults who have the highest level of mental health. They are severe narcissists who are obsessed with celebrity.

I did not mean to insult anyone, especially the Masche family.

Thanks for the background on the Masche family. I have not (and will not be) researching/following them. I've had enough with the whole J&K debacle. I genuinely wish the Masche family well.

I just find it sad that so much TV programming now revolves around 'reality' tv. I think it's a terrible trend and I wish it would just burn itself out so we could replace it with some quality programming.

I do not pretend to understand the lure of having tv cameras film your personal life, but whatever that lure is, it seems both insidious and powerful, if Jon and Kate are any indicators.

My hope for the Masche sextuplets is that they are spared the insanity the Gosselin children have had to endure at the hands of their own parents. I hope we do not end up in a few years seeing the Masche Six with that same look of absolute bewilderment that is now apparent on the Gosselin children.

If TLC is filming like Jon said when he returned from France then TLC just by the pictures I have seen must have them taking the kids to the doctor, Kate leaving and the kids looking sad and hugging her, Kate lifting her heavy suitcase in to the new suv she got. Maybe Jon in his new place (remember that they can have more than one crew to film them.) So do we know if all the cars, suv they have were given to them or did they buy them?

Jon told us himself not so long ago of his life when he met Kate. He had been bumming around Europe, skiing (rich kid, his dad was a successful and apparently beloved dentist when Jon was growing up). A life of priviledge for sure. Then he met Kate at some event, supposedly it was 'meant to be" and even tho he already had a girlfriend, per himself AND Kate, she snared him that very day. So we know Kate has NO PROBLEM snagging another woman's man from her, if its what she wants. Guess Steve N.'s wife knows that now too, but seriously maybe Steve is no prize himself. He has to be half crazy, a woman w/ 8 kids, a shrew he has seen in action demasculining her own husband, in front of the cameras no less!!
And Jon with Kates plastic surgeries daughter. Hmm. How did that work out, Kate was recovering at the docs house (yes, after the first week she did go to the docs house to further recover, at the docs wife's invitation) Did Jon see thee daughter around the house and think, hmm, I sure would like to tap that....but I am married and have no balls. I almost forgot. So, suddenly single, he calls her up? Really, Jon? Are there NO OTHER females on this planet, you had to pick the daughter of your wife's plastic surgeon, who came complete with a trashy reputation??? Good example for your sons, Jon.
Seems like each one is trying to out-do the other. Very childish behavior. IMO Kate was fresh out of nursing school and wanted kids. Jon was so easily manipulated, just the perfect guy for her. She talked him into both IVF's, although he was happy and content with just Mady and Cara, he says Kate insisted they try for "one more". She knew full well IVF produces multiples, if she had no intentions of selective reduction should it be more than one baby, then she must have wanted a flock of kids. Whether or not Jon did too is apparently of no consequence at all.

What's totally disheartening is the fact that the two of these media whores have just subjected their 8 little kids to an 8 hour photo shoot. Where's the child labor laws for this abuse? These kids are going to have a meltdown and soon.

If I recall correctly, TLC's statement included the wording, 'will cease production'. You are correct, TLC did not specifically address a time frame for filming, however, considering that fact that FILMING is a vital element to the production process, particularly with respect to a reality tv show, IMO 'CEASE PRODUCTION' would/should include the cease of filming as well. IMO, TLC's statement served no other purpose than to pacify criticisms and controversy, post the 'big announcement' suggesting that TLC's priority is more about ratings and producing a reality tv show than the emotional and mental well being of the eight Gosselin children. As soon as the media/public focus of attention shifted from the Gosselin family to the death of Michael Jackson, TLC/Figure 8 felt it 'safe' to resume production AKA filming!

It's also said that Kate now has her own condo, not far from their Pennsylvania estate while Jon has his new 2 bedroom condo in New York's Upper East Side, valued at over 2 million dollars. Two trips to Bald Head Island NC, value: 27,000. Hair plugs for Jon, value: 5,200. Giant Gift Card, value: 5,000. Trip to Hawaii, Value 7,000. Half a cow, value: 1,395. Piano, value: 6,350. GOOD! I think this means that Steve has "opted out" of his agreement to be filmed or broadcast, which would tend to negate the notion that he's coming back.

When I graduated High School many years ago, I found housing near a local college. The 'mom'there(as I called her) was a Southern Lady who I loved. She had shoes near the front door at all times. She told me that you never answer the door or see a visitor, (guest or family) barefooted. It was the height of rudness to someone who comes to the door. I am a grandmother now and I never forgot her Southern advice. Never.

I read that Jon is 5'7". In one of the older shows when they were shopping for a Christmas tree, he told Kate to pick out a tree that was a foot taller than her. He said, "6 1/2feet Kate, 6 1/2 feet."
That is all I have ever heard of how tall they are.

That would make Kate about 5'6", not 6 feet all.

I am so with you on this and I don't miss any of their line-up one bit! If you saw that kind of crap at a festival or circus, you'd turn away, wouldn't you? You wouldn't want to be any part of people gawking at such offputting stuff, would you? You wouldn't want to be a party to promoting someone else's embarrassment and suffering, would you? Well then, do the same thing with the TV channel and particularly this cable network! Demand better programming by your absence! You have more control than you know! Don't give them viewer support! I'm not asking anything more than what I've already asked of myself as a former, diehard J&K+8 fan. Please consider this, even if you're still watching the reality show out of sentimentality...make a start to withdraw. Do it for the children and do it for yourself. You'll feel better. I speak from experience. Thanks for listening.

I suspect it's going to implode when the money runs out. Between all the crap Kon has bought like the mcmansion, condos, Jon's midlifecrisismobile, etc. they have spent a lot of money. I can only imagine what the lawyer fees for their divorce (which I suspect is going to get very, very ugly) will add up to. I seriously doubt anything at all will be left for the kids who earned all that money. After the show, Kon is going to be dunzo. Kate may have sheeple followers to some extent still, but she's controversial and can't control her acting like a bitch problem. There's no way in hell she'll get any kind of talk show. The woman can't even get through one interview without inventing words and I can just imagine her correcting her guest's grammar. Jon is as dumb as a box of hair, he'll probably end up working at some job with his name on his shirt after all is said and done.

About the barefoot in the house issue. Jon's family is from Hawaii. I'm from Hawaii. We ALWAYS take our shoes off before entering homes.

When I attended mainland college, I never understood why mainlanders wore shoes in their house tracking in dirt and other stuff from the outside. I mean, you go to a public restroom and then wear the same shoes in your house? That's just eeewwww. BUT I will admit I got into the habit of wearing my shoes in other people's homes in the maindland since they were okay about it. Just not in mine!

It's a cultural thing that I'm sure Jon was used to growing up and Kate was happy to oblige with because of her OCD cleanliness.

<><><><><><><><><>

I think there are plenty of celebrities and TV/Movie stars that have nothing more than a high school education. Some do go to college but it is surely not some kind of prerequisite to work in "the business." Not sure what it has to do with being a celebrity. Paris Hilton went to college I believe but I don't think it really helped her learn how to be a better celebrity. Britney is pretty good at being a celebrity but didn't get any higher education.

My next comments are related but not directed towards Kiki:

I think the snobbery on this board relating to "college educated" versus not is certainly uncalled for. When I got out of high school, I chose not to go to college even though I received a partial scholarship. I did so because my grandparents were very ill and struggling financially and were not able to afford the medication they needed to stay alive. My father was an alcoholic and was unable to be selfless enough to take care of his parents. I chose to go to work in an accounting firm as an assistant so that I could live with them and help them financially. I wish that my circumstances could have been different but I have never regretted that decision. As my life has progressed I have had nice positions where people just assumed I was college educated (not my employer but colleagues.) I worked hard and after starting at a company as an Office Manager moved up to a Director with a big office and an assistant of my own in 7 years. Between me and my husband who also is not college educated we were making 120K a year. You can still be successful if you work hard. I have yet again decided to put my life ahead of my career by staying at home with my kids. So, financially we struggle now on one income, but I assume years from now I will not regret this decision either.

Just because someone didn't get to go to college doesn't mean they couldn't have or didn't want to. I know my grammar stinks and I wish there were things I had learned. But, I am still a member of mensa.

So, I guess what I am saying is just because someone didn't go to college doesn't mean they are ignorant or unable to learn. Also, just because someone went to college doesn't make them smart. Case in point: Hailey Glassman.

Off soapbox.

Has anyone considered the possibility that they are making HUGE income from residual payments every time an old episode is broadcast? It is typical for "actors" to receive payments every time one of their shows is on, just like a singer/songwriter/producer receives payment every time a song is played on the radio. I have seen J&K marathons on TLC where many shows were broadcast back to back...not to mention the almost daily re-runs of old shows. I can assure you that they are getting some kind of payment every single time one of the old shows airs and that the income from that is probably astounding. I have a friend who used to sing jingles for ads many years ago, and she still receives checks in the mail whenever one of her old ads runs. She used to make HUGE residual money when she was doing ads full-time...I can't imagine what the income would be for a 30-minute TV show that broadcasts reruns almost daily. Unless they're even more idiotic than I previously thought (a real possibility), they might be able to afford all this insane spending and still survive financially for a long time.

And a better question is....are they that stupid that they actually think the public is so naive and stupid that we believe what they tell us???? I for one am soooo onto this sham, but only stick around to enjoy getting a laugh at their expense. Things like pics of Kate carrying her own, heavy luggage or flaunting her scarred, lumpy belly in public or Jon with his bloated man-belly and girly-girl earings and fugly t-shirts brings a chuckle to my day. I feel sooo bad for those kids though. And what's with the ratty clothes they're wearing now? Mom can wear decent clothing yet the "money makers" only wear crap now? Jon's had them since July 15 when he got home from France, but has been meeting up with Kate for various events (like the doc visit, photoshoot etc). Before that Kate had them for much of the time, I believe, with Jon coming and going ever since the divorce weekend (father's day, June 21) when he had them by himself (and told the paparazzi he had no idea where Kate was). Of course, no one really knows for sure because Jon seems to have them out front where they can be photographed somewhat less than Kate, so it may be that we're just getting an inflated idea of how long she has them for.

Sorry I misunderstood or misquoted. I think I had your comments and the gal that said she was embarrassed when her mom was in her house barefoot and her mom came over kind of together in my head.

Apologies. And I wasn't trying to say anything rude by "outdated" more just in general that rules of etiquette are out of style and rarely used anymore, that kind of thing and I literally have never heard or thought being barefoot was rude or any less than having shoes on. Certainly...if the show continues. How long after the show ends do you suppose they are going to be showing re-runs? Five years? Ten years? It's going to end! What many are not considering is that the revenue generated is GROSS income, not NET. Knock a third off for taxes (possibly more than that if new tax hikes are passed for the "wealthy), figure in the cost to keep up six residences, plus the cost of raising eight children, all in private school. They may have enough to support the lifestyle NOW, but it isn't going to last forever, no matter how many residuals come flying in.

The August 3 return of J&K+8 is almost upon us, so this seems a good time to say to the moderators of this blog that I will not be counted in the tv viewing audience of this program when it returns.

I fully expect TLC to attempt a complete re-invention of this 'family', with a strong flavor of Kate, The Victim, bravely facing single parenthood with alleged courage and (ha!) integrity. AS IF the vapid genre of 'reality' tv will possibly portray the very real courage & integrity non-televised (read "not on a network payroll") single parents in the real world silently display on a daily basis. And most will do it with a demeanor noticeably non-narcissistic, unlike 'reality' tv's version of a single parent.

I will rely upon this blog's Recaps, which are cleverly written and cut right to the point, if I want to check in to see if there has been any progress of getting shows like this off the air. It would be great if a majority of people who enjoy this blog would do same - TLC is unlikely to continue this show with a sustained serious ratings dive.

So, thanks to the moderators of this blog - good job! I have been enjoying your blog and remain hopeful that we will eventually see a swing by the networks away from this kind of ridiculous circus sideshow type of programming. Hopefully, this swing will come sooner than later.

I felt sure J&K would each get their own condo. I'll further bet that both of them can hardly wait to get back to their own peaceful, quiet abode.

Neither of them are hardly the parent they would like us to believe. Eight kids make a lot of noise and require a lot of attention.

They are no longer warm and fuzzy sweet babies. They grew into icky boys and squealing girls and we all know they can keep you hopping.

So, the kids are living in the home THE KIds BOUGHT, and J&K are each living in their condos the KIDS bought for them, plus the Utah condo, all sorts of vehicles, jewelry and other expensive things-- like a ring for Jons new little sweety.

So, the show MUST go on. This stuff costs lots of money.

That last one's the rub. Right now there might be a people left who are watching the reruns going "tisk tisk, how sad the way things went" but I bet the huge majority by now know the truth. The tween girls who were some of the biggest fans surely have the tabloid scoop, and the Christians have to be thoroughly disgusted with Jon and Kate and recognize they aren't and never were true Christians. It's a matter of time before there aren't enough people tuning in to the reruns that TLC can interest a sponsor. At this point I truly suspect TLC's main interest is keeping the show going long enough to satisfy existing contractual obligations without having to buy their way out of them. Sure if the sideshow-freakshow-tabloid scandal thing generates ratings, TLC will keep it going, but if it doesn't--and it's a long shot it will--then the show is so over.

Focus on the children! I was a preschool teacher years ago and saw firsthand the stress of young children who were experiencing divorce in their families. To think for one minute that these children are unaffected by their parent's divorce is ridiculous. Add in their young lives the unbelievable stresses of the trips - in airplanes, buses and/or cars to unfamiliar places, celebrity visitors to their home who are strangers to them, new "stuff" coming to them all the time (Crooked Houses, etc - have we seen any sign of the children enjoying them since they were delivered?), new cars that are unfamiliar with new seatbelts to figure out or new booster seats to maneuver, new not-nannies, new body guards, new TLC crew in their private lives and faces, the list is virtually endless.

What these children need is calm, consistent care from somebody who truly loves them. Maybe at this point, since their parents are incapable of sitting still long enough to give this attention, a daily pre-school would offer them the calm, predictable, safe and enriching environment they need to thrive rather than survive this time in their lives. Their teachers could help them catch up, if necessary, so that they aren't behind their peers in all life skills that, again, their parents don't seem able or willing to teach them. I'm certain that a good preschool teacher would be able to help them learn to tie their shoes, eat with a fork, use crayons and markers, drink out of a cup, dress themselves in clothing that has ties, laces, buttons or snaps, etc. These are things we did every day! While these simple lessons are being taught, teachers would be able to assess the specific deficiencies in each child and help get them the help they need in speech therapy, life skills or whatever is needed.

A good preschool would also allow imaginative play, music, new friends, and new enriching experiences. More than anything, it would provide structure, routine and consistency that might afford these children some peace in their otherwise chaotic lives.

#############################
Couple things....I have commented about the Masche's previously on other threads...IMO, I feel that no matter how much or little they are filming now, that can quickly change...the Masches' show seems to be an exact carbon copy of J&K+8, down to the wife getting a tummy tuck and brand new boobs!....Brian and Jenny have master's degrees (I thought he was working towards his, he's going to school on the first few episodes, but this is a minor point) and think that what they are doing is a good idea, I say, more power to them...also, IMO, having a master's degree does not mean you know what is best for your kids, some of the smartest people I know have never set foot in college, and one never graduated from high school, but is smarter than some college grads I know....IMO, I think Brian and Jenny are idiots for doing this show after all that has happened with the G's...I've said this before and I'll say it again, I do not wish the Masches good luck, and I don't wish anything bad for them, but 'you get what you get and you don't get upset!'
...............

I TOTALLY Agree...a masters degree and an annual income of 100k does not make an intelligent person...this couple is lacking common sense and they are exploiting their children for financial gain and fame. No different. Brian does not seem like the brightest bulb on the tree...Iraq or no Iraq...I saw previews of an episode where he had a power drill and he was aiming it closely at one of the babies while the Mother looked on. Stupid A$$.

In regards to marital property and divorces, maybe someone out there can help answer this:

Why buy all of this stuff (cars, condos, etc) in the face of a pending divorce? Wouldn't the courts want a list of assests and couldn't either party be forced to sell them?

I'm just trying to figure out why they'd choose to both go on spending sprees. Isn't income potential just as valuable as money in the bank when it comes to marital assets?

In a word, yes. When I got divorced, I had to list everything's value - cars, the house, investments, pensions, you name it. And it didn't matter whose money had paid for something. If you are married and earn money, in community property states, it's half yours and half your spouse's. The thing is, PA is *not* a community property state. It's an "equitable distribution" state, which essentially means that if the divorcing couple doesn't arrive at a division of property, the judge has a huge amount of leeway when it comes to distributing the property. (Just ask my brother and his ex.) My guess is that J & K have some misguided notion that just because they made these purchases, the judge will let them keep them. It all depends. Kate seems to be trying to prove that she "earned" the lion's share of their assets, but that could backfire on her if the judge decides that she has more future earning potential and that Jon had sacrificed his own earnings to stay at home and be Mr. Mom. As for being forced to sell things, usually what gets divided is the monetary value, so if she has a car that is worth $65,000, and he has a car and two motorcycles that are worth $65,000 together, they can keep the stuff. Trust me - this is going to be very messy when it gets to the judge unless their lawyers can convince them to play nicely with others. And I don't really see that happening.

Trying to get it right said:

"Again, I thought Kate bought a condo in Reading (Which would not be too expensive) and is renting a condo in NYC, not purchasing it. Do we know she bought it?"

Kate has a condo in Reading. They own the house in Elizabethtown which they haven't sold, they have the mansion in Wernersville and TLC kicked in for the condo in New York. Jon's paying for part of it and not renting,. Rents typically go for nearly 5,000 per month on a similar unit.

"Don't they just have one? The value is correct for Jon's one cycle."

Answer: They now have two. John has the custom chopper from Orange County choppers valued at 125,000 He recently purchased a 2009 Harley Davidson VRod which retails at 22,000

"Last summer for the 4th they went to Corolla on the Outer Banks (northern end of NC). I know that's where they were because they could see the Corolla Lighthouse from the place they were staying. I've been going to Corolla for 15 yrs and know that light house from anywhere. Plus Corolla is by the off road access to the wild horse area they went to.

You are correct about the trip to Corolla last year. This year she took the tups to Bald Head Island which TLC footed the bill and the beach house they stayed in for two weeks was 10,000 per week. The one they stayed in last year rents for 7,000 per week.

Others have commented that Kate is buying a condo 10 blocks from Jon in NY. That is not true at all. Kate was staying in the Essex House Hotel in NY for a film shoot and that so happens to be 10 blocks from Jon's new pad. She was there with the kids for a TLC sponsored event and not there shopping for houses. Page Six of todays NYPOST.COM indicates that a chill was felt in the air with her arrival to NYC.

I just love looking at the pictures on radaronline of Jon and Hailey being happy together. But, Kate never looks happy. She always has that same old frown. I don't think that it will be long, before Kate will need some plastic surgery on her face. I wonder if she'll go back to Hailey's dad.

Anonymomma mentioned the recent buying spree...I don't get the whole timeline either.

Viewers were presented with the picture of a marriage supposedly so strong, loving, & healthy that a Hawaiian vow renewal was staged (operative word here: staged) in August. Why,the script even included Kate saying something about doing the vow renewal 'so the children will know we will always be together'. Okey Dokey, Katie.

Only a few months later the new set (mansion) shows up, but there is an obvious absence of not only Jon (script claimed he was away helping his mother post op), but also of any footage of the supposedly beloved family annual Christmas traditions (remember the whole 'Kate's sticky buns & hot chocolate' plot line & dialogue? "For Christmas, we have always have had and WILL always have my sticky buns & hot chocolate - it's our family tradition"). And whatever happened to the whole Christmas cooking baking and carol singing for those close, close friends of the fam?

Oh, yeah, that's right - none of Kate's special homemade
Christmas cookies & hot chocolate this season (maybe I should ask for Kate's almighty permission to use the word 'season') for JonBoy -Let's just say if there were any 'sticky buns' for him to enjoy, they were not Kate's.

So, late summer: vow renewal. Fall: new set/mansion. If we are to believe this show, apparently Pennsylvania did not do Christmas this year, but by Spring, we have a whole new JonBoy emerging, complete with new sportscar. But, hey, that's ok, because the character of Kate has now undergone a total transformation, too, and, gone are the days when an entire episode was spent showing us how Kate never spent $ on herself, including clothing and needed her beloved husband to help her pick out a few pcs. of new wardrobe (that 'they saved up for').

Ah, was it so long ago when scripts were about simple family outings to the Shady Maple restaurant? How'd we go from Shady Maple to Mr. Chow's so fast??

I think whoever is writing this tripe has been reading too much "1984", because the flip flop of what is 'reality' one season to the next is now changing at warp speed and is way too Orwellian.

And, speaking of reading good books, that's what I'll be doing in future J&K+8 timeslots.

I saw the story on E! tonight about Khate bringing the kids to NYC for a photoshoot and having them be besieged by the paparazzi.
What a selfish and stupid idiot she is! Seriously, she has no right to call Jon stupid when she KNOWINGLY brings her children into that kind of dangerous and potentially mentally scarring situation. They weren't there for anything earth shattering---it was for a photoshoot---ya know, the CHILDREN were being FORCED to WORK---they weren't at a doctor's office or visiting a dear, sick friend.

Everyone at Khate Kamp are desperately trying to paint her as the martyr here, but videos like this (and pictures of her and her kids on the FRONT lawn in full-view of the paparazzi when she has acres and acres of land that provide privacy) only provide America with her true colors: a selfish shrew.

Focus on the children! I was a preschool teacher years ago and saw firsthand the stress of young children who were experiencing divorce in their families. To think for one minute that these children are unaffected by their parent's divorce is ridiculous.....

Thank you so much for this! I didnt copy the whole thing, as excellent as it was, due to space. One of my small worries when the kids reach kindergarten was making sure they could wipe themselves and botton and zip properly. I remember one episode where Kate sighed disgustedly about how someone brought it to her attention that the kids didnt know how to use kiddie scissors. She screeched something about being "much too busy and much too exhausted to play around with...", ya know, her usual.

I cringe when I think of the culture shock these poor kids will have in full time school. Not being the center of attention, no adult there for your beck and call, and god forbid, not being accepted by the other children due to diva behaviors or not being able to keep up.

*My 2cents about the hats: she is growing out the hair, especially the lawn-mowered side. I'm calling it now- she's after a Victoria Beckham look.

No longer can watch said...

They are absolutly making residual money off each and every episode thats replayed a million times a day. They do get paid off that as long as people continue to watch.

Side note about 'residuals'. Im not familiar with the difference between 'reality shows' vs 'sitcom'/fiction type shows with respect to reruns and sindication , but VH1 featured one of those from celebrity to nobody type 'challange' shows and one of the contestants was one of the heart trobs from Bay Watch (sorry I cant recall his name). On the show he revealed his most recent residual check and it was a whopping 19 cents. Considering Bay Watch was one of the top ranking shows nationwide and abroad and ran for many years ( if not still) in sindication, a 19 cent residual check isnt all that impressive to say the least.

Ohio Buckeye (I like your comments as above; you are a good writer here and I watch for your posts!): I think so many of us are right there with you on the August 3 debut...not watching! And GWoP is a well-moderated site, definitely. Let's hope for good change and not get distracted from why we comment here: reality TV child "actors" and their exploitation. The distractions are stress-relievers to an otherwise disturbing subject but we've got to try to stay on topic as much as possible.

We can't do anything about the Gosselin parents' lifestyle or parenting skills (other than shake our heads) but we can sure do our part by not watching them on television or looking for them on tabloid sites (how many times can we look at the sad faces of the kids getting herded here and there anyway?). I also am trying to resist any temptation to buy the rags on the magazine stands. Be indifferent. Don't let Jon and Kate be something worth writing about. Show your disinterest.

The Gosselin kids have enough of an everyday challenge as children, considering their current lives (parents divorcing being a major source of upheaval); if cameras would leave their eight little faces, it would be one less thing the kids would have to contend with in already-compromised and confused childhoods of being posed for magazine shoots, paraded around for paparazzi photo opportunities, prodded and prompted to perform for the show in various "themed" episodes...lost moments of real life and genuine, youthful freedom they can never get back.

Some of the Gosselin kids will probably tell their own, cathartic stories in about twenty years and then we'll know what really happened. I'm hoping that, besides the memory album Kate's no doubt making of all her magazine covers, somebody like Kevin and Jodie are also making some scrapbooks of their own with pages and pages of web comments like those of GWoP which will show the Gosselin children how much viewers, readers and former fans who got roped into their story, truly cared about them, their exposure, their wellbeing and their young futures because, sadly, the show's DVDs are certainly no documentation of happiness for any kids' lives.

ManicNarcissism, you can get on your soapbox all you want. I think you write very thought-provoking, from-the-heart comments and I've been reading you here for a long time.

I'm very disappointed with Jon and his actions; such poor choices. We don't know the whole story but he's not living up to hopes I had for him to turn some things around. I'll try to give him some time but, so far, expectations are crashing. However, I too am not going to blast the guy just because he doesn't have a college education. There are many reasons why people don't/can't get an undergraduate degree and it doesn't mean some of them are happy about it. Sometimes it's difficult to change our circumstances. Where there's a will there's a way, but sometimes the way has a lot of traffic jams.

Let's Make a Pact - Thank you so much - your compliment means the world to me.

You make an excellent point. Please know I share your concern for kids like the Gosselins - that's why I was alarmed this wk-end when I accidentally happened onto WE TV's "Raising Sextuplets," and that is why I posted here about it. Possibly another set of multiples heading down Gosselin Lane? Sad and scary.

I think ANY reason is a good one for viewers to stop watching this kind of programming. Personally, in addition to the concerns about children being exploited (and I am wholeheartedly with all of you on that one) I also consider it an affront that networks are inundating us with a growing number of 'reality' shows, as if we are all morons.

Don't get me started on listing the rest of my personal reasons for being against this growing trend, but please know that included in this list is an additional concern for kids, above and beyond those, like the Gosselin children, who are being used by their parents to garner fame & fortune.

I also object to the slick packaging and marketing of a show like J&K+8 as if it's appropriate for viewing by children. I am extremely concerned that shows like J&K+8 give impressionable child viewers a very unhealthy slant on what family dynamics are supposed to be. Anytime verbal and emotional abuse is passed off as 'normal' and acceptable, the basic standards of human behavior are skewed downard. I object to this, especially when this view is being spoonfed, via TV, to child viewers.

So, if we can use this blog to raise awareness of the potential for this kind of programming to be detrimental not only to the child actors involved, but also to viewers, especially child viewers, we may just succeed in the proverbial 'killing two birds with one stone.'

That, at least, is my hope.
Thanks again.

As I watch this whole thing play out I honestly am shocked. How two "parents" with eight kids can think you just stop being parents and go do whatever you want (especially Jon)is beyond me!

I sure hope that there's a responsible person (or several) around 24/7 to protect those kids.

I'd like to know exactly what Kate DOES all day? She walks around the driveway, sits in the plastic stack chair, has the cellphone constantly glued to her ear, drinks coffee, changes hats, talks to the kids occasionally, and DOES NOTHING. What an absolute waste of time and life. Why aren't they all swimming in their pool, reading books, coloring, playdough, summercamp? They're are all outside every single day in the driveway and doing NOTHING. Wasteful summer, is what I call it.
Totally unproductive, empty life for Kate. GO TO WORK at a REAL job.

During the promo, Kate also said something to the affect of 'the children did not ask for any of this', which I am assuming the 'divorce. The children didnt ASK to be part of a 'reality tv show' and the exploitive and instrusive lifestyle that comes with said either. How do you justify that one Kate?

I stopped watching some time ago and have recently stopped coming to this site as often as I was. I just cannot stomach these two any more. It appears to be "he said".. "she said" or he did this, she did that. We will never know the real truth. These two are way into themselves and their needs to ever admit the truth. They need to just go away.

One more thing. A while ago there was a post going about what episode changed your view of Jon and Kate. Well mine was the episode where they went to Toys R Us. I was mortified by her actions and yelling at Jon in the store. I would never in a million years talk to my husband that way.

And when Jon told Kate "to take the stick out" was priceless. He did apologize, but the way I see it now... why should he have? You think Kate would have? Has she ever apologized to Jon for being mean and nasty?

Kate did what Kate wanted! She did not care. She was allowed to get away with it. Jon should have put his foot down a looong time ago. First by telling Kate NO to having more children. He stated he was happy with his family of four. Like I said what Kate wants Kate gets. Why are people so afraid of her? Why can't they say no to her?

Okay.... rant is over.

This is probably a disgusted rhetorical question, but I am just so flabbergasted that I need to say it anyway. Maybe Fail Parent #1 and Fail Parent #2 have some reps reading this.

With all of this bad press, with all of these serious advocate groups and all of these accusations that J&K are unfit parents, how on Earth could they continue this show??

I am especially disgusted with Kate saying, "[The kids] didn't ask for this" when referring to the divorce. Well, that's not the only thing they didn't ask for! If you stopped this charade years ago, they never would have seen their parents in the tabloids and had to deal with such a difficult family matter being public. They wouldn't have to be followed around by "p-people" when they're just going to the post office.

I find it completely ridiculous and, quite honestly, reprehensible that she would DARE to blame this backlash on everyone around her. Where there is smoke, there is fire. If she didn't light up her poor kids like a forest fire, there wouldn't be anyone recording the smoke.

I know that I am preaching to the choir, but I am sick to my stomach at this point. That one quote did it to me more than anything.

Also, I'd like to thank TLC, who has made a media sweatshop for these children to be forced to work in. They sure helped me learn something: No matter how it's made, if it can generate a profit, go for it! They must've learned a thing our two from their sponsors, The Gap. I'd rather go to a Coney Island freak show than watch these children's lives be destroyed.

So, TLC's season premiere opener give a sneak peak of Kate blabbing on about ALL the things she is going to be doing NOW because the 'kids didnt ask for any of THIS'. First of, ALL the things Kate so proudly claims she is going to be doing NOW, are things that SHE should have been doing ALL ALONG as a PARENT, and as a team player in the 'game' called MARRIAGE. Why should it take a divorce from a spouse to suddenly realize and acknowledge the wants and needs of your children? Why was Kate not seeing , hearing, recognizing, enjoying, and participating in ALL those things prior to two months ago? If Kate wasnt, then its only safe to assume that JON was. After five plus years, its only NOW that Kate finds it within herself to play mommy! FYI to Kate, if you are going to start acknowledging 'things' your children did NOT ask for, lets go back five plus years and start a list from there to present.
