OCC - Jon and Kate Plus 8 Bike

Jon Gosselin, of the hit TLC series Jon & Kate +8, has commissioned the guys at OCC to build him a bike. To get a better idea of how the father of 8 wants his bike to look, the Teutuls take a trip to Jon and Kate's house to see how the family of 10 live.

Crossover episode.

Something that caught my attention:

I didn't watch the whole show, but I caught a minute of it just now while flipping channels. Jon told one of the OCC guys, "I want this bike to be a tribute to the kids....because, you know, without them I wouldn't be standing here right now."

Anyone else find it odd that he denies the kids are being exploited but then basically admits they are his cash cow?

Hmm.....

Snerk said...

Perhaps Jon just doesn't really know the meaning of exploitation?

thehazlettfamily said...

I'm watching and clearly the OCC guys are NOT fans of Kate. Even Jon is growing a set and snarking on Kate. He said after season 5, he'd trade with Mikey since he does nothing and neither does Mike. Jon truly needed some male time.

Daydream Believer said...

I heard that comment about the kids and I do agree he seems better with the guys. But, did you see the iphone he pulled out to take a picture? He always hid his and Kate always waves hers around.

BMWoP said...

I want to know how many people get their kids' clothes dry cleaned?

thehazlettfamily said...

WTF. Mike takes Kate to a spa for a break. I think he does not understand that spending time with the kids is actually a break from the spa.

Daydream Believer said...

Kate at the spa. Ugh and look at her straight edge hair cut

I'm happy for Jon. I'm glad he's getting away from that wench he calls a wife. This is nice...

Oh wait, I spoke too soon. She's emerged. Damn, I thought I might enjoy this show for a minute. I'd rather watch Lifetime...

I'm watching this right now, and WOW, everyone is zinging Kate right and left! Favorite part-when Jon walked into the OCC shop and saw the Black Widow bike and said, 'oh look, it's Kate's bike'...HAHAHA!

Ha ha ha. I've lost count of the derogatory comments flung towards Khate by the Chopper guys now that Jon is on their turf. I'm LOVING it. She, of course, was her typical "I am soooooooooo cool these days" self. Oh God, now she's back at the spa- SHOCKER. She is the most irritating being on the planet. CACKLE CACKLE CACKLE. Why oh why did they have to come back to Kate. CACKLE CACKLE. She's about to pee herself laughing. I have to turn this off.

When was this filmed? Anyone know?

BMWoP said...

I loved it when the spa girl asked Mikey if he wanted a magazine to read, and he said, "Yes, I'll take US Weekly"( Mom To Monster ). And all you hear is Kate cackling that horribly horrid cackle.

Nikki said...

I just missed what she said about Jon while she was looking at the back of her scooter...did anyone catch it? I know it wasn't nice from her tone.

Just Be Nice Kate said...

The OCC guys said in a recent interview that Jon's bike was one of the nicest they've ever built - worth $125,000! Can you imagine! I'll see if I can find the link to the article...

I think that she said Oh Just Let Him Go.. The bike guys were asking her if they should open the gate for Jon..

I agree with Jon - he should change shows! I thought this OCC episode was great! I love Mikey and how they paired him up with Kate at the spa. Maybe Sr. can make Jon a man after all. And Pauly Jr. was better with the kids than Kate is.

When Jon rode his new bike up to the gate one of the guys said, "should we let him out?" and Kate literally sneered, "Yeah. let him out". Bitch.

WPA said...

When they were sitting in the yard, they told Jon they wanted the money upfront. Wow! $125,000 for one bike! The Gosselins are burning through their kid's money fast.

Why is this on for 2 hours? why will it re-air on Monday?

I mostly watched the FOX dancing show the first hour.

I saw the ratings for cable shows last week - one episode of J&K+8 came in #1.

Do you think TLC planned this episode to coinside with WE's new show with the Masche sextuplets? To keep them from getting ratings?

It seemed to me the guys couldn't get enough of K(hate). The show seemed to be all about her, and not Jon. She upstaged him. And I'm really getting tired of that stupid denim skirt.

Boo Hiss said...

There was just so so so much wrong with this show, I don't even know where to start. Kate just proved she is more unlikeable and crotchety than ever.

I really did enjoy this, seeing Jon as a human more than Kate's little monkey.

Good Lord, Are these two ever going to tell people they are able to afford their own things now? They just take, week after week, after week. It is just one big continuous cycle with them. They are like a bottomless pit of freebies.

I posted elsewhere, before this thread was offered. Is there anyone else out there scared to death that Jon may hurt himself on a motorcycle? There are plenty of experienced riders who seriously injure themselves (or worse). Those darling children cannot afford to lose their Daddy, I hope Jon ponders awhile before he engages in this new hobby. Kate probably just upped his life insurance policy. Jon, think of the kids.

What I noticed is that Jane and Hate did not interact at all.Jane seemed very subdued. At one time Hate screamed at Jane to take care of the dogs or he will be in "big trouble". Loved the way Paul Jr. interacted with the kids, Mikey too. Oh, and those play houses that Hate bribed the kids with were shown. btw, didn't watch the show to see the Kons, we are regular OCC fans. I am curious to see of Hate is edited differently on "her" show as on a show that is aimed at men.(i.e. Opie and Anthony fans)

The spa segment was strange. Kate was just at a spa in California with Mady but she acted like she really needed the break. She told the biker guy that she's tried most of the nail polish colors on the wall (looked like about 100 lined up); she must get away from her kids very often!

What's up with no helmet and open toed shoes? Shouldn't the parents show their kids that they are responsible adults and are concerned about their safety? PA doesn't require motorcycle riders to wear helmets, but I think they should anyway.

Where was the papparazzi along the fence? I didn't see any. And did you notice the gate?

Kate told Jon he would 'be in trouble' if the dogs came back (or something about the dogs). I can't believe how she speaks to him.

Nasty, just plain nasty.

What a Sham said...

I loved Jon's backhanded comments:

"You sound like my wife" (to Paul when he's yelling at him in the shop)

"Maybe I'll just stay here" (when they didn't have enough time to finish the bike)

And so many more that I can't remember. You could tell Jon was not holding back and the OCC guys were loving it, especially Paul Sr.

I also noticed that even while he was away from home (with the guys), he still acted like he had his tail between his legs. But maybe that's just how he is all the time? Never has a backbone?

WPA said...

They ate twice during this show and both times they used paper plates.

The nanny/cook/helper came out of the basement door but her face was blurred. She brought the kid's lunch while Kate stood there.

Kate doesn't like the dogs - she yelled at Jon to put the dogs in their cage when the dogs got into some food under the tent. Jon got a kiss/lick from one dog.

Kate said the 'tups just finished pre-school and will go three days a week next year, most of the day.

At the spa, kate said she deserved the break because she had been traveling non-stop.

Amy said...

Just watched the OCC show. I laughed really hard when Kate was riding her scooter down her driveway screaming her head off.

What a Sham said...

(sorry, something else I forgot to add)

Did anyone hear what she said to the tups to get them to stop honking the scooter horn? "If you don't stop that right now, you're going inside for a nap." Geez. Even Mikey said something about ruling with an iron fist. She's overkill.

JerseyShore said...

This show is more proof of why I hate the regular show now. When I first started watching last year or two, it was about the family functioning on a daily basis. Now it is about smirking Jon & nasty Kate, cracking her gum and making catty remarks to any guest star about her husband and all the recent news articles about their personal life. Why would they have her always holding a cell phone and cackling like a loon? She has become so unlikeable to me and I cannot figure out why the producers (Jon and Kate included) would change the direction of the show to put the two of them, but especially Kate, in such an unflattering light. This has to be a calculated move on their part to change the dynamic of the show from a family oriented show to an edgier, tabloid type show. Who do they think their audience is? Anybody else have an opinion on this change?

She CLEARLY hates the dogs. She threw a major fit when they came near the picnic and yes, actually threatened Jon with "big trouble" if he didn't put them away "IN THEIR CRATE THINGYS WHERE DOGS BELONG!!!" I loathe this woman completely.

Crazy Cackling said...

This show would have been watchable had the repugnant, despicable Kate Gosselin NOT shown her lurid self on this episode.

She is intolerable to watch. And that CACKLING fake trashy laugh of hers is enough to drive anyone crazy.

I really enjoyed seeing Jon on this show. He could be himself and actually had some fun. And Jon, way to go with your snarky commentary tonight indirectly aimed at Kate! LOL!

Anonymous said...

Kate has utter contempt for the dogs. A few espisodes back she said twice, for emphasis, "and we wouldn't care" regarding them (I can't remember the exact context), and then tonight the whole "put them in the crate, that's where dogs belong"!!

She's worse about the dogs than she is to John, even. It's pure anger and disgust in her voice when she talks about them at all.

Courtney said...

It's funny. Paul Jr says he was surprised that Kate asked to go for a ride on his fathers bike because she's a "control freak". She said she wasn't wearing a skirt or jeans and Sr says something like "I don't care what you wear". It's obvious they don't like her. Clearly TLC is using their most popular show (J&K) to bring in ratings for their other shows. This show is mostly about the Grosslins and not about building bikes. Gross.

They say everything they do is for the kids well I still don't understand how this is for the kids.

Even Paul Jr had enough compassion for the thirsty kids to give them his water. Its a good thing Kate wasn't in control of the water that day.

I have contempt for Kate once again after hearing her awful statements about the dogs. She told Jon he would BE IN BIG TROUBLE if those dogs came near that area again. What trouble is that Kate?? You have no manners or class....not even an ounce of it. Then she proceeded to DEMAND they be crated. They are crating those big beautiful german sheperds!? PLEASE NO! She is a wicked evil person with no compassion for children, animals or other adults....actually even her own family.

Jon said he would leash them, and said this while giving one of the dogs a hug.

I liked Jon slightly more in this episode than usual. And I would not be too impressed about the iphone mentioned. My husband is getting one as a free upgrade with our phone plan and we are far, far from rich. It's not a huge status symbol, IMO.

I'm watching the repeat of the episode now and heard one of the kids say something real funny in the beginning of the episode...
When Mikey was playing with the puppet with the kids, he asked them a question about puppets (can't remember what it is now) and one of the boys responded with, "I am a puppet!". Mikey said, "Oh? You're a puppet?"

I'm sure he didn't realize what he was saying, but it was such a funny thing to say because of the controversy surrounding his famliy. Maybe he really does feel like a puppet; controlled by mom, dad, and the producers.

I was astounded by that! I even said to my 11 year old who was watching who on earth gets their kids' clothes pressed! They went from having a helper do it to taking it to the dry cleaners. How absolutely wasteful and idiotic. That would not even be something that I would do myself, let alone having it sent out. I wonder if he knew how pompous he sounded. Also caught Kate's comments about how they will go to Jr. Kindergarten for 3 days a week next year?! I wonder how long and hard they had to look to find a program to stick their kids in and still allow for maximum exploitation time in front of a camera!

How is it saving money on reselling them if you shell out money at the dry cleaners? You'd waste more money on that over the time the child wears it than you'd make back reselling it. Hmm..I would not think "casual" gymbo outfits would need pressing. But who am I to say? The gymboree my kids have had have been bought second hand from some other person who lost all the money while I reap the benefits : )

I actually thought it was a good thing that Jon wanted the bike to represent his kids and that he "wouldn't be standing here right now" without them. He's not stupid--obviously they would never have had a tv show if they hadn't had such a large family. I really thought he was being sincere and trying to tell the public that at least one of the parents knows they are NOT the star of the show. Kate seems to think it's all about her--not sure why TLC is humoring her on that. She seems to be completely annoyed with her children, no matter what they do. Her idea of complimenting Aaden on his art project was to allow his tree to be a part of HER project. Gross. These kids are going to have such problems with self esteem, she has beat them down for years. Poor kids.

I grew up with a girl who went over the handlebars of her bike back in 1982 she was 10 years old. She had permanent brain damage. It was a dangerous ride we were all with her. She just hit the brakes to hard lost control and that was it. We were just in our neighborhood......kids and ADULTS should always have a helmet on - even on the 4 whheeler that that Jon drives around on..

I switched back & forth from Burn Notice to the OCC Show and I shall not waste one more breath on Kate. However, I MUST say that Paul Jr. & Mikey were absolutely PRECIOUS with the kids. It was the first time in a VERY long time that I have smiled while watching something in regards to the Gosselin family. Paul Jr. paying special attention to Aaden, high-fiving him and working on his project with him warmed my icy cold dead heart. Just adorable.

OK..I lied, I will say one thing about Jon & Kate. My dear Father died in a motorcycle accident in 1977, when I was 2 years old. His bike flipped over a railroad track and he went head first into a tree. He WAS wearing a helmet and still passed away. Regardless of the laws, it's my firm belief that if you have children and choose to participate in riding a motorcycle, you MUST wear a helmet. Absolutely irresponsible not to do so.

5 years old... JUNIOR Kindergarten in the Fall? Kate is purposely holding these kids back so they will be available to film, God forbid something inconsequential like education get in the way.

When will these kids go to school when they are 10?

It dismays me to see people continuing to watch this show..and no matter how 'likeable' Jon is, he still continues to cash in on his children and allow them to be treated poorly. Any father that saw the Kate/water episode should have put his foot down pronto and said ENOUGH..and God knows what else he has seen over the years that he has allowed to continue?! How exactly does it benefit his little money makers for mommy and daddy to get free motorcycles? They are the ones working for them only to have their parents preen over yet another free 'gift'..I dont care how likeable Jon is..he has had opportunities to step up and stop this show yet he is not willing to stop the money train. I for one do not like him for that. Kon are manipulators and users plain and simple..they are portraying a 'reality' that does not exist..I dont like the fact that they told their kids they would be together forever and got a free trip to Hawaii when the truth is they are not together in marriage and think they can pull the wool over the eyes of the public they despise so much.

I think everyone is taking what John said out of context. I think when he said "if it wasn't for the kids, I wouldn't be here"....I don't think he was talking about exploiting the kids or for the show. I think what he was suggesting is that IF IT WASN'T FOR THE KIDS, he'd have left Kate a long time ago. It's the old addage said when two unhappy people remain in a relationship..."We're staying together for the kids". Same thing. You can totally tell he'd prefer to never step in front of a camera again. He looks miserable. How much you wanna bet this all ends up in court one day with John fighting to get his kids off that TV show and Kate's fighting to save her cash cow?

have to disagree with the whole "lining the pockets" comment. They are making money for the family as a whole. If that was your own family would you make a comment like that? If my kids were working for me on my farm and TLC aired video footage, since when to I have to justify to anyone whether that money went to me or in a trust fund for my kids? Since when, because I made them work, would I now need to tell the world that my kids MUST be paid because as a mother MADE them work? Neither Jon nor Kate need to justify their actions regarding their own children. We all saw that episode and they were NOT working for hours. You saw them get right back on that bus. There were only 2 15 minute interviews that day if I remember....

A direct appeal to Kate Gosselin:
I can't even address you as 'dear', simply because I hate you. And let me tell you why. It's not because I'm a hateful, vindictive person. To the contrary - I am big-hearted to a fault and if anyone is blind to the bad side of people, it's me. Initially I watched your program and fell in love with the mom that you appeared to be: loving yet strict, incredibly organized, an un-assuming comic with quick-witted humor. You seemed to have it all Kate. Everything you accomplished seemed to be done so effortlessly. I have to admit however that I was never impressed with your ability to convince the State of Pennsylvania to 'contribute' to your cause. That always naggled at me but still, I overlooked anything about you that bothered me. Because I chose to. Increasingly however your one-liner quips became a bit annoying. They insidiously became to seem like a cover-up of sorts. I could no longer relate to you, especially when you put your son in the laundry room so that he could vomit on a vinyl floor instead of a comforter that you would later have to launder. I just couldn't imagine doing to that to one of my own children. EVER. And then when you berated and belittled Jodie on public television, you completely lost my admiration. I started to hate you. I'm sorry to say that, from there, the hatred only grew....what I perceived as loving banter with your husband morphed into downright abuse. Attention to your own sense of self worth began to border on an obsessive sense of entitlement and indulgence at the expense of your own children. It was no longer J/K + 8: It was now the 'Kate Gosselin Show'
It pained me no end and I simply could not watch anymore. I gathered information only through GWOP. I became a contientious objector.
I quit watching JK+8 for infinity reasons. It was a relief and a statement to my stance. A strange thing happened, however. Absense does weird things. I learned to forgive. In the beginning, when I saw your bikini pics, they just about gagged me. But then I thought: hey, this lady had 8 kids, after all. Not bad. And from there, coupled with the avoidance of your downright sickening shows, I learned to somehow give you a 'break' from all this negativity. And then....and THEN I made the mistake of going on online and viewing the tape of you denying your own flesh and blood, Mady, the most humane gift of all: water. Yes, WATER. I, as a mother, could not believe what I was witnessing. You ignored your own offspring's request for a drink of water. You not only ignored her, you satiated your own needs first. In front of hers, your first born.
You go against everything I believe in. You go against even my instincts as a mother.
You are not normal Kate Gosselin. You are sick and you need help. It goes way beyond the dollars and the glam. You are truly deficiant and your children are the ones suffering. The healing begins with only one person: Kate Gosseling. Please, I beg you, seek counseling NOW

5 years old... JUNIOR Kindergarten in the Fall? Kate is purposely holding these kids back so they will be available to film, God forbid something inconsequential like education get in the way.

My daughter was in a full day Pre-K (with Nap time) when she was 3 years 10 months.

That's exactly what I was thinking when she mentioned school! My niece is the same age as the tups and is finishing up with JK this month. SK starts in September.

In our school district they'll take 3 yr olds (as long as they'll turn 4 by Jan 1st). So I find it stunning that they'll be, at minimum, an entire year behind other children of their age.

It's yet more proof they're being babied. Bibs, high chairs, etc. If you look at the first documentary when the twins were 5 they were treated like they were much older. Mady could read and was expected to help.

Even being preemies they should be pretty much caught up by this age. It's shameful that they're being held back.

And speaking of that... did anyone notice in Monday's episode when the kids were riding bikes that they all had training wheels? What happened to last summer when Joel showed off his two-wheeling skills?? And I don't recall seeing helmuts either (did I miss that? I hope!)

World Day Against Child Labour
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

United Nations portal
The World Day Against Child Labour is an International Labour Organization–sanctioned holiday for the purpose of raising awareness and activism to prevent child labour in both economic and military fields.[1] It is currently held each June 12. The ILO created this observance in 2002 and it has been held annually since then.

The creation of this international awareness day was spurred by the ratifications of ILO Convention 138[2] on the minimum age for employment and ILO Convention 182[3] on forms of child labour.

These is a big difference between your reference to kids working on a farm helping out the family and what the Gosselin kids are being subjected to. They are children! They should not be used as money makers and paraded around like objects. If you don't think KON is lining their pockets then I must disagree. KON is benefitting quite well from using their children. No one knows how much if any money is set aside for those kids and the real issue is that KON continues to lie and sell out their kids in a very negative spotlight..this is very harmful and has long term effects that may have those kids getting alot of therapy in years to come..if you don't see what KON is doing as exploitation then I am truly shocked..children should not be used or forced to live a lie and shoulder the burden of supporting their parents..just because Jon and Kate do not want to go back to the real world of REAL work and support their family does not excuse their selfishness whatseover

I think that Jon's comment about if it wasn't for the children he wouldn't be there should be taken literally. More accurately if it wasn't for the sextuplets he wouldn't be there. Mady and Cara wouldn't be that interesting by themselves.

Also, I don't think Jon is on any meds. He is just extremely laid back. He has to be laid back otherwise the Jon and Kate equation wouldn't work out. Kate might be attracted to an alpha male, like Paul Sr. for instance, but I think she knows that an alpha male isn't going to put up with her behavior.

Val you are right about Kate telling Leah to wait to honk the horn so that she could take a picture. Since when do camera's have audio?

When Kate told(threatened) Jon concerning the dogs it was Jon who got me mad. Why does he put up with her crap? Had a man told his wife that she better do this or that or she might get in trouble imagine what the public might say.

I loved when Mikey said he wanted to read Us Weekly! Kate is showing what she really is more now than ever or TLC is just not editing it out. When Paul Jr. said to John he should just take off(on the bike) Kate was quick to chime in, "Yeah, Jon can just get out of here!" Nice, huh?

Also heard Jon talk about season SIX!

Did you say the oron gateway to their mansion? The Gosselins are some pretty sick power freaks.

Hey PA has a HELMET law!!! Go J&K setting a GREAT example!!

=============================

No, PA used to have helmet laws, but no longer. Changed about 8 years ago.

A friend of the family is a neurosurgeon -- whenever he sees people on bicycles without helmets, he stops and tells that he will see them in the ER as non-helmet wearers are his best "customers" -- it sounds shocking, but he wants it to because he feels so strongly about people wearing helmets to protect themselves.

Kate is raising the dogs the same way she is raising the children. Let them run around unsupervised and yell when they get into things. And if they still don't listen and require actual supervision...but them in their cage or bedroom (for a nap)...

OH WOW, she was in full form last night!! Gum smacking, mini skirt, hoochy mamma shoes and all. "Oh, I love that, you take out the trash Mikey." Yeah, WHITE TRASH, hee hee!
Squeal, squeek, laugh, laugh giggle giggle...give me a break!
I loved how the guy back at the shop couldn't get the name of the show right, but darn well knew who Kate was! "Are you sure the bike's not for HER and not HIM?"
My husband and I laughed and laughed!
As much as we all griped about them getting a chopper, I really think Jon deserved the experience. (I TRULY hope some $ was exchanged) He really needs to be just a guy sometimes, just like she needs HER GIRL time."Oh, I've just been sooo busy I haven't had time for just me" as she sits with her feet being massaged. WTF?? Not sure of the time frame with all these episodes but I'm pretty sure you were either at the spa before/after this episode or on a 12 day vacation.
Jon should have slipped them something extra to cut the brake line on that scooter!

This crossover show CLEARLY showed the tension between J&K. A Sheeple who watches this and says otherwise is blinder than a blindfolded bat.

When the OCC guys rolled up with both of their brand new bikes, J&K completely ignored eachother's bikes except for Jon pointing out the kids names to Kate. This was the ONLY time during the entire show that he acknowledged Kate directly. And yes, he seem either heavily medicated or downright depressed (except when hanging with the guys - then he became animated).

As for Kate, she was acting soooooo FAKE along with her fake boobs and fake laugh. Why is she posing for the camera. What a sham.

The poor kids.

Just wanted to say, that it was interesting to watch Jon and Mikey at the Hilton Garden Inn. I have been to that hotel twice for meetings. It is right next door to the OCC showroom/store. I live about 25 minutes from there. I had the pleasure of meeting Mikey a few years ago when he came into the store I worked at. Very sweet and funny. Just a point of reference for anyone who would like to know, the OCC showroom is minutes from I-84, and the bar(Front Street) Jon was at about 10 minutes straight down from the showroom, depending on traffic. I was trying to figure out the distance from OCC to his home when he said he had to leave get the kids off the bus. It's no wonder they were filming at 6 am. Just a little FYI

As a PA resident, I wanted to chime in on a couple of things.

First, there is no helmet law in PA-they actually repealed it a few years ago. That said, a PARENT should wear a helmet. You pretty much give up your right to be irresponsible with your own safety once you have CREATED (or adopted for that matter) someone who depends on you.

Second, kindergarten in PA is a little fuzzy because it is actually not required by the state. Parents do not have to enroll their children in school until they are 8 (that's the law) and they can actually bring their kid right to first grade without ever having kindergarten. Now, I don't know anyone who does that, but it's the law. Many people keep their kids in daycare for kindergarten and many schools still have half day kindergarten, so the 3 day option would actually be more hours than a traditional kindergarten. Of course, Kate is choosing this program so that the kids can still be filmed on their "days off," so I am not validtating her decision, just mentioning the laws here in PA.

Third, I swear, I keep seeing Kate's hair everywhere around my town. I actually thought I saw KATE HERSELF at my local grocery store the other day! I had to look twice to see if it was her. I am begging all the residents of PA-do not subject others to the horror that is the Kate-do! Please, copy the Vanilla Ice hair or maybe Sinead O'Connor-surely either of these are better than Kate? Stop the madness!

Perhaps this was answered already, but one comment Kate made about the scooter was "There's no H in Jon..." The scooter was a surprise; she should have shut up about it and had them quietly fix it later.

Also as she flew up and down the driveway on that scooter all I could think of was her saying "Everything I do is for my kids..."

Believe it or not I didn't watch the whole show, just enough to catch that little bit. But can people still be thinking this is just a normal family that happens to be on TV? Can people still believe this show isn't staged?

And shame on the men from OCC being on with the Gosselins. Are there NO television personalities who have the character to stay away from these people?

I loved Jon's comments about Kate in this show. It was nice to see someone actually interacting with the children. We don't see Joel or the other children riding bikes without training wheels because no one will bother to take the time to help the children learn to ride without them. I just can't see Kate taking the time to help her children, oh unless it was going to be filmed. You can tell those poor children are starving for attention. SO SO SAD!!!

I did a Tivo on the OCC show and watched the new show with the sextuplet family in Arizona. What a breath of fresh air that show is. The parents are so totally not like the Gosselins and believe it or not, the mother is great to look at. I see this show knocking the Gosselins out of the park.

I did go and watch the OCC show AFTERWARDS and one thing that no one has mentioned but was in the news earlier this week. The Gosselins did not pay for that bike. TLC approached Orange County Choppers and commissioned them to build a bike for Jon. Any mention by Paul Sr. about money up front was staged. Yet again, another "Freebie" for the Gosselins. Would you expect anything different?

There are so many things to say about last night's OCC episode. First, I think Paul Jr. and Mikey are great! The way they played with the children was so sweet.

Kate is a gum chewing A$$hole. I loath this woman and never thought I could add to the dislike I have for her but when she made the comment to Mikey and Paul about "Yes, let him Go" when they watched Jon on his bike down the driveway toward the gate, I thought what an amazing bitch. There are no bad words I can muster to describe this woman. She is trying so hard along with her PR people to portray this kind and loving mother and only the opposite is showing through. She is a hands off mother who could care less about her kids and cares more about appearances, but little does she know that most of America sees right through her cherade. Her attitude with the dogs is awful. One day they will turn on her and she will be sorry as they will bite her or go after her. I think it is disgusting that she can speak about her husband and father of her children the way she does regardless of what has been said lately of them.

As for Jon, I have said before that I don't agree with all of his decisions, but it is clear that he is being set up. My wish for him is that he would wake up to this and do a complete role reversal and take control and get those kids off the air, move back to the E-town house and live happily ever after. Is Jon immature, yes, but he is a far better parent than Kate and I can see the love he has for his kids. Is he perfect, no, but you can see that he has a good soul. He is just broken and misguided and needs someone to point him in the right direction. I feel bad for the guy, I really do! The way that Kate talks to him and threatens him is disgusting. I would have loved to see him turn around last night and tell her to "F" off after she said if he didn't get the dogs out of there and crate them he would be in big trouble. Either she has some big dark secret over him or she beats him after the cameras are off. I just can't stand this woman.

Did anyone notice a couple of women sitting on the white chairs in the background? I think it was Carla and her daughter.

ICExploitation, I think you are right. The tups are only going to go to school three days a week to be available for filming. Kate supposedly wants to get two more seasons out of this trainwreck and that about fits the time frame needed. They could get two more seasons in before the tups go to school full time in the fall of '10.

I wonder if the tups will go to kindergarten in '10 or if they will go to 1st grade? If they go to full week kindergarten next year they will be turning 18 in May of their junior year and they'll be 19 when they graduate. Appallingly appalling and the crowning glory in Kate's mental torture program. Making those kids live at home with her for one more year than they have to. I'm sure they'll understand that their educations needed to be placed on hold because mama needed new boobs and a mansion.

Why are the kids going to Junior Kindergarten?
My school district used to have Pre-1st. This was for kids who weren't quite ready for 1st grade, but didn't need to repeat kindergarten.
Is this similar? Could the Gosselin kids not be quite ready for kindergarten. Many of us have commented on them seeming to be behind in some areas.
I know we have posters here that live close to them, so maybe they can enlighten us.

I was flipping through the channels and caught a few minutes of this. I used to LOVE American Chopper and stopped watching it for some reason. Now I remember why I liked them: they seemed honest and real.

However, I couldn't watch it for long because Kate ruined it for me. I'm imagining all of the people who watch American Chopper religiously saying to the tv, "what the hell is this crap? Who is this shrew? I'm switching to the basketball game.."

I think, if anything, this show (from what I saw and read here) likely HURT American Chopper more than it helped it.

I think Senior, Paulie and Mikey are probably regretting this one. I have a feeling they did it because they had to, not because they chose to.

Jon is just as guilty as Kate. By this time he's had his affair, been filmed with young women (several times), and is taking his share of the kids Cash Cow.

I am not excusing Kate, but yeah, if I was in her shoes being filmed with my cheating husband I don't think I would cut him any slack.

I don't believe for one minute he will ask for TLC to stop filming. You forget who is really benefiting from the show: trips to snowboard, a free bike, an expensive car, money to spend on his girlfriends... Without the Kids he has to go get a Real Job and that is simly something this lazabout won't be doing.

I don't think he's on drugs. He comes across as mentally slow.

LOVED getting to know Jon!

He's a fun guy, and it was VERY CLEAR that he surely enjoyed being away from Kate!

LOVED the Chopper Guys! I have glanced at their show as I channel-surfed but think I may want to actually WATCH the show now! They are really great guys and SUPER talented to be able to create such beautiful bikes!

THOROUGHLY enjoyed all the humor in the episode! What a great thing to work with people you like and can have fun with, too!

It was fun watching Jon relax and do some "GUY" things with some new buddies. He loved this. You could tell!

As many of you mentioned, I was hoping that this would be a Kate-Lite episode. It was for awhile until she exploded into the screen and completely ruined the mood.

Props to the Chopper Guys Paul Sr., Paul Jr., and even Mikey for calling Kate on stuff she said. THEY would never be "in big trouble" with Kate, so they just LET IT RIP! It was nice to see that Jon FINALLY did his share of verbal retalliation, too!

It was a very Kid-Lite episode which is understandable because this episode was OCC and NOT J&K+8, but it was GREAT to see Mikey's ventrilloquist act, the art project, and the DEAR moments as Paul Jr. scooped the kids into his lap and cuddled with them --talking and sharing his water bottle.

I couldn't help being reminded how Kate took a sip of a water bottle in front of a thisty Mady and gave Mady NO WATER at a recent interview while Paul Jr. not only gave the kids a drink but gave them HIS WHOLE BOTTLE in THIS episode! Did you also notice that he told them HOW IMPORTANT it was to drink lots of water???!!! I wonder if he had seen that Access Hollywood clip!!!

OK, now for the dogs...

We have a German Shepherd a few months older than Shooka and Nala. German Shepherds love being around people and couldn't be happier than when they are right in the midst of a group. (They are, after all, HERDING DOGS!)

Anyway, Shooka and Nala would have LOVED to be a part of that day! To be whisked off from their family and berated just for sniffing food that was ON THE GROUND where all THEIR FOOD is anyway, was just CRUEL!

Then to be YELLED AT and BANISHED to crates because Kate thinks that's where dogs belong anyway?????????!!!!! Puleeze!!!!

Thank goodness Jon took them, got a nice kiss from Shooka (Awwwwwww!!!), and put them on their leashes...well, Jon, you get BIG PROPS from this German Shepherd lover!!!

Dogs DO NOT belong in CRATES, Kate! I am, however, wondering if maybe YOU DO!!!

Sorry! I draw the line at helpless animals! Kate sure is lucky that the German Shepherd Dog is FIERCELY LOYAL to its family and will endure just about anything FROM its family BECAUSE they are its family!

OK. I'm done about this. Disgusted and done.

Maude said...

In reference to Kate's treatment of Jon for the way she spoke to him about the dogs in front of the OCC guys:

I had a Kate moment years ago. I said something nasty to my husband, in front of a few people. Don't know what my deal was, I have no excuse because there is no excuse. Anyway, it didn't take me long to realize how inappropriate, and wrong my behavior was. I soon apologized to my husband...in front of the people who were there when I said it.

I hope I redeemed myself, but as you can see I still feel bad many years later. It was just uncalled for, and I'm a better person than that.

My point is: Kate is not just showing disrespect to Jon, but also to her children, the OCC guys, and the multitude of other people she's done this in front of.

Kate has no class whatsoever. None.

Jon said after Toys-R-Usgate that he doesn't like when Kate behaves that way in public because she's a better person than that.

No, she's not.

Khate had the same green dress on at the end of the season premiere and their family bbq. I was wondering why Jon was cooking all of those hamburgers and hot dogs. Beacuse it was LOT of food for them. I think that was footage from this episode that they tacked onto the season premiere when they had scramble and re-shoot and re-edit because of the Affairgate. I would venture to say that part of that food was for the OCC guys who were off camera not the fake Go$$elin family moment.

What the...? Those kids are FIVE YEARS OLD! With May birthdays! The should be starting Kindergarten! Question - I know in California, kids are not required to attend Kindergarten. Is it the same in Pennsylvania?

Kate, as an educator, your children have some definite delays. They especially could use some occupational therapy. THEY NEED TO BE IN A FIVE DAY A WEEK PROGRAM!

Man, this is ALL about having them available for filming.

Wow, what an interesting episode! I missed most of it, because I was watching So You Think You Can Dance. The parts I saw were basically Kate hamming it up for the cameras. My mom & I were laughing so hard at her when she was standing outside her house wearing a demin mini skirt & heels. I don't know anyone that does that on an ordinary day? This show (not OCC but J&K+8) has gotten so out of hand I am no longer watching it. My concern is for the children; and after seeing the video of Kate denying water to Mady, I can not bear to watch and see these poor children go through this.

If they are going to the school that I think they are attending, there was an evaluation in January or February for placement. I doubt that school would play along with Kate's wants. They do have the best interest of the students at heart.

Some children just need a little more time. I placed all of my sons in K1 and K2 and they benefited from more maturity.

I have to disagree with the comments regarding Kate holding the tups back for either filming another season or to keep them home for another year. I think it's a wise decision for her to hold them back one year rather than sending them when they're not quite ready. It's obvious that they are developing at different rates. Leah and Alexis seem to be the most verbal and what surprises me is that she didn't send those two ahead to regular kindergarten. She probably wanted to keep them all in the same class (grade) which I don't blame her for doing. Keeping track of homework, class projects and field trips is hard enough with two kids let alone 8. (I can't believe I am sticking up for Kate!)
I can't stand Kate but I am sure that she has consulted with learning specialists and with the admissions directors of the school they are attending. Admission directors will advise you as to where they think your children should be in September. They will strongly advise against your children beginning kindergarten if they feel they are not ready and will not accept their application if they are not. I am not sure if the tups will attend the same school as the twins but the twins attend an exceptional school in regards to academics and most independent schools like the one they attend do not even admit boys until they are 6 for kindergarten.
It is better that the kids are a little older than the to be a little younger.

But it would not surprise me that Kate was happy that the tups would be more available for filming!

<><><><><><><><><>

I admit it seems ridiculous unless you actually know the details. I played the "gymbo" game for a few years. It is almost like playing the stock market. LOL!

Okay, so between 20% coupons which are like a hunt to find, my extra 10% off for my Gymbo Visa, I got the store discount because my best friend worked there, and only shopped when either receiving or getting gymbucks - I never purchased anything for more than 30% retail price. I also had a Gymbo eBay store where I actually picked up items for her for free. I would buy a lot of 3 new shorts and then sell the other 2 for what I paid for the 3, getting the 3rd one for free.

So, short math, dress costs $32 retail, I paid $11, dresses are only worn to church here and we hang them up after, maybe I dry clean it 2 times before season is over (because we had so much clothes, probably only once!) So, let's say my output was $16 with cleaning. I could then turn around and sell it on eBay for 1/2 of retail and she wore it for free. If you wash them you might get $5 for it. Gymbo clothes are really well made, however, they have a lot of detail on them and sometimes those don't wash well. No matter how much you steam it and press it that butterfly/mermaid tail/bow is never gong to lay quite right again. So, by dry cleaning I was protecting my investment.

I spent $200 one season on clothes and then for the next two years was able to sell her old clothes and have enough to buy her more stuff without any additional outlay.

But, it was very time consuming and I gave it up when I got preggers. I kind of didn't mind spending the time because I wasn't doing it for my DD necessarily I was trying to make money on eBay to be a SAHM. But, she is 8 and almost outgrown the Gymbo look and I'm not starting my 6 month old on it. Wal-mart will be fine.

I've come across a few comments regarding this, and perhaps I'm wrong, but I think Jon said "I have few male friends" NOT "I have female friends"

gorenknows said...

"When was this filmed? Anyone know?"

I think it’s about a month lag time for editing and final production.

"The OCC guys said in a recent interview that Jon's bike was one of the nicest they've ever built - worth $125,000!"

I thought this was the value of most of their bikes, sometimes more like the Statue of Liberty Bike.

"I MUST say that Paul Jr. Just adorable."

"And Pauly Jr. was better with the kids than Kate is."

Truer words.

"Where was the papparazzi along the fence? I didn't see any. And did you notice the gate?"

They drove north once out of the gate onto more open road instead going down into Wernersville. I’m sure the Police were notified to keep the area clear by Figure 8.
Nothing like a modest electrified razor wired entrance to keep things subtle.

"I loved Jon's backhanded comments:
so many more that I can't remember. You could tell Jon was not holding back and the OCC guys were loving it."

This is and will continue to be the new 'schtick'. Since so many are anti-Kate now, the simplest thing to do is make her the recipient of similar barbs. I Think it’s all an act. Good cop, bad cop.

"Regardless, neither of them should have been appeared on camera without wearing helmets. Brains are still damaged when heads hit pavement."

Apparently brains don’t need to hit pavement (ie sandals too).
I had two friends who were killed on motorcycles, neither was at fault.

"Kate mentioned that the 6 kids start Jr. Kindergarten in Sept. and
its three days a week from 8:15am till 3:40 pm. That certainly gives her a lot of time on her hands."

Less money that has to be paid to the non-existent Nanny. It’s a great excuse to do more speaking engagements and sell more books.

"You can totally tell [Jon] prefer to never step in front of a camera again. He looks miserable.'

Yes he’s miserable with a condo in Park City, a $60,000 car, a $125,000 motorcycle, partying while his wife’s away and the $25-$75K per episode checks.
Boo-Hoo.

Courtney, you say exactly what I’m thinking too.
"Clearly TLC is using their most popular show (J&K) to bring in ratings for their other shows. This show is mostly about the Grosslins and not about building bikes.
They say everything they do is for the kids well I still don't understand how this is for the kids."

I started watching to see how the Teutuls would deal with the Kons. Some of it scripted.
Then I started to think if I wanted to watch American Chopper, I’d watch American Chopper. I made it through about a half hour then I was off to clean the house trap.

If the ratings of this episode are as high as they’ve been since the Kons’ “Revelations” then what any of us have to say is meaningless and publicity for them, good bad or otherwise.

Here in PA, though I am located on the other side of PA from the Gosselins, our and are are pronounced the same. "our" pronounced "hour" is never heard around here. It is just like the New England version of car is heard as "cah". It is just a type of dialect.

-------
I may get called on this one - but I think when we start resorting to these kinds of posts as if somehow we know 100% without a doubt the answer - is stooping to their level IMHO.

We all know these were 6 premie babies. Premies are not always socially/academically ready and age-appropriate as single full term babies.

Has their past 5 years had anything to do with some of this possible delay? I'm sure it has.

But everyones comments that the ONLY reason these kids won't attend a "regular full time" kindergarten is some monstrous plot for more filming - shame on you. You are no better than the ones you are protesting against.

I see and hear a lot of wrong things coming out of the mouths of the people in charge of these little ones - but adding to all the gossips/half-truths and lies does not help any of this situation at all.

OK - I'm off my soap box.

As a mental health professional, I must say that I don't think Jon is using drugs or otherwise medicated. His tired eyes and lack of emotion (joy, anger, etc.) are clear signs of depression. I think Jon is so beaten down by all that's happening to him, and it's showing in his attitude and behaviors. His "slowness" and droopy eyes are VERY common in people with situational depression, and boy, who wouldn't be depressed in his shoes??? I truly believe it's not drugs, it's being emotionally drained.

I caught just enough of this to feel the viewers--especially the anti-Gosselin ones--are being set up, big time. Every sarcastic comment and objectionable action I saw from both Jon and Kate related either to critical comments about them on boards like this one or to stories in the press. While I don't doubt that Jon and Kate are having problems, they're united enough to flaunt their bad selves for every last dollar they can get. I suspect the children missed the memo unfortunately.

I didn't watch. I watched Raising Sextuplets with the Masche's. I was shocked to see that Jenny did not once hit anyone with anything. And the kids at 18 months old did not have bibs on. I am thinking that someone needs to tell Jenny she can't actually support her husband in a loving manner, but must berate him. The kids are far too young to eat without bibs, as we all know they must be at least 35 before they can eat without bibs. And they had a dog, that Jenny gave a bath too and she didn't even tell her husband that he was going to be in big trouble if he didn't cage the dog.

I am so Konfused. I thought women with multiples were supposed to be horrid shrews who emasculate their husbands, neglect their kids for their bodyguards, hate dogs, beat up guests who come to make dinner, and alienate their family. Jenny even had her mother on the show, as well as other family members. What sort of mother has family members present around their sextuplets? That's just plain craziness, everyone knows it's bodygaurds that are the most important to be around your kids.

Two quick comments:

1. Dry cleaning is about as un-organic as you can get. Does she understand how many chemicals she's exposing her little kids to by dry-cleaning their clothes? But consistency has never been Kate's strong suit.

2. Junior kindergarten for kids who turned 5 May 10? My daughter has a May 20 birthday; it never occurred to us to hold her back. I suppose this means the Gosselin kids won't hit daily kindergarten until the fall of 2010. But at least they'll be able to get 50 or 75 more shows in the can before then. What a relief!

Totally Agree said...

"I think it's a wise decision for her to hold them back one year rather than sending them when they're not quite ready...better to be a little older than a little younger."
--------------------

I completely agree and have heard this from teachers as well. I held my youngest back from Kindergarten a year and what a difference a year can make. Emotionally she wasn't ready and, though she was a bright child, she had absolutely no interest in academics. She would be attending a magnet school centered around the arts and needed to pass a test to qualify - and that idea alone stressed her out, much less the idea of "leaving mommy". She needed the extra year to grow and come out of her shell. Now, she's a social butterfly, an exceptional student, and blends seamlessly with her classmates though they are all 6 months to a year or so younger. For what it's worth, she is a tiny child and even physically is on par with the rest of her classmates. I don't know how the Gosselin children rank size wise or otherwise to other children their age, but I don't see a problem with holding them back or easing them into schooling (3 days a week) at all.

So while I struggled with the idea of holding my child back, it was the best thing I could have done for her. BUT, I do believe that more needs to be done during that "extra" year at home to prepare the child for school - a "home school" year of sorts.

Anyway, I say "so what" if a child graduates from school at 18 or 19 if it was in their best interest to start a year later. It's better to delay than to start them when they aren't ready - and they become discouraged and behind and are forever playing "catch up" throughout all their years in school.

Maybe.....but I've seen Cara and Mady's uniforms and they don't appear to be dry clean only, and the tups don't wear uniforms.

It's more likely Kate just doesn't have anybody to do her laundry for her anymore, so she pays the cleaners to do it. Which is fine, I guess, if you have the money. But Kate still insists people think she does it all. She's supermom.

Just like last night she said she can't be out of comission, that she has 8 kids to care for
( giving viewers the impression she does it all ). Really? I saw the nanny feeding them lunch, Jon said the clothes were at the cleaners, she has a housekeeper, Jon seems to do most of the driving the kids to and from school...

what exactly does Kate do besides work on being spa and camera ready at all times?

Jodi and Kevin even said Kate is good at delegating jobs. But lawdy bee, she will slap that supermom title on in a nanosecond. She still thinks there are people out there who believe she does it all with no help ( and sadly, there are ).

I just somehow don't think the other 11 or so couples out there who have sextuplets take all their kids' clothes to be cleaned at the cleaners. I just see it as another thing they ( Kon ) do to piss their kids' money away to make Kate's life easier so she can pursue HER dreams without being bothered with mundane tasks. She is marketing herself as a supermom who does it all...including laundry....but she is FAR FAR from it. She's a phoney is what she is.

( Yes...I'm ranting. That show last night sent me over the edge in disgust. )

ITA. I thought both of them were very passive-aggressive in taunting the audience with remarks that clearly demonstrated (despite their denials) they resent the public criticism that's escalated in recent months. Whatever is going on in their relationship, I agree they are united in their desire to keep the gravy train going, whatever it takes.

These two deal with their anger toward each other passive-aggresively, and they're dealing with the public criticism the same way. When Jon asked the OCC guys about putting his kids' names or initials or something to recognize them on the bike because he knows he wouldn't be there if it weren't for them, that's a big f**k you to the accusation that their kids have been exploited. When Kate manages to say with a straight face at the spa with Mikey that she's been so stressed and had no time for herself and it's such a rare treat to be there, that's a big f**k you to the criticism about the amount of time she spends at the spa. Their hostility at what they no doubt perceive as unjust criticism of their behavior is palpable in scene after scene.

They see themselves as innocent victims who are above criticism, while robbing the true innocent victims of their childhood.

I am not an expert on this subject, but I know I have read that preemies "catch" up to full term babies at one point. Kate lost her bid to have the medi-caid nurse stay with her for another year because the state found there was no need because there was nothing wrong with her children.

Has their past 5 years had anything to do with some of this possible delay? I'm sure it has.

Their situation is self created, there is no need to keep a child out of school. Let them interact with other children other than their siblings, and for goodness sake let them learn from a professional.

But everyones comments that the ONLY reason these kids won't attend a "regular full time" kindergarten is some monstrous plot for more filming - shame on you. You are no better than the ones you are protesting against.

My original comment was not intended to make it appear that filming was the ONLY reason these kids were being held back, but how convenient?

IMO, the children's development is being purposely delayed to hold onto their "marketing" value. In the Korean Dinner episode, Kate admits to not helping them with how to write their names or with scissor use. Bibs? Highchairs? Why is a child who already learned how to ride a bicycle unassisted back to training wheels?

I see and hear a lot of wrong things coming out of the mouths of the people in charge of these little ones - but adding to all the gossips/half-truths and lies does not help any of this situation at all.

She sat by Mikey as he got his hair washed at the salon "for moral support."

My Favorite Jonisms in the Episode:

"Let's just build this thing all day, and I'll call my wife and tell her I'm not coming home." (When there was plenty to finish on the bike and Jon needed to leave to go pick up the girls at school.)

"You know what? You sound like my wife!" (When Paul Sr. was riding Jon about stuff at the shop.)

"We'll trade! I'll build bikes, and you go to my house." (Jon)
"No thanks!" (Paul Sr.)

Kate is just like my mom and my dad said...

I keep seeing comments on all the threads about Jon seeming medicated, and it's really getting to me. I feel the need to speak up about his sluggish speech and unanimated expression...

I grew up with a verbally abusive father and a hyper-critical cold and narcissistic mother. I was the oldest daughter and the "black sheep" of the family starting at around five years old. I was a blonde, blue-eyed, straight a student with a talent for art and writing. Yet, because my parents were so self-absorbed, they saw me as a two dimensional accessory to their three-dimensional lives, and almost everything I said or did was criticized.

If I used the "wrong" word, failed to perfectly arrange the throw pillows on my bed, or forgot to suck in my stomach when we walked into sunday school --- I was berated by either my mom or my dad. Sometimes, there would be other people around, so the derisive comments were coded: told as "jokes" encouraging other people (adults) to laugh "with" my parents at whatever thing I'd done that they thought might be innapropriate.

My parents didn't get what childhood was about and they thought I was deliberately trying to "embarrass" them or make them look bad. I was just being a normal five, or seven, or nine year old.

I bring this up for one reason: to explain the way one begins to respond to constant criticism and verbal harassment. If every word is corrected, and you keep drawing verbal "fire" no matter how hard you try to comply, Your mind shuts down a little bit from the stress. The frontal lobes of your brain that process and manage administrative functions are supressed because of the stress/unacknowledged emotions and your thinking is dulled.

You can't figure out the right response, but you don't even know that you should be responding in a broader way really. In the moment there is no big picture, just BLANKNESS. It's a slowing down of cognition in the moment.

This isn't obvious to folks around you, you just seem quiet or slow, or in my case "arrogant" for being unresponsive. When the verbally abusive situation continues, the pattern of depressed thinking manifests eventually as post traumatic stress disorder. You can't just step back and say, "I'm getting out of this situation" because that seems impossible and may not even look like an option because of the distorted thinking.

Most relevant here is that you internalize the idea you cab do nothing right so you become afraid to do anything.

Kate has "monitored" Jon for years, combining rage and hyper-criticism in a way that has "trained" him to be over-solicitous to keep the peace. Now that the marriage is ending, her derision is more overt and he is clearly feeling unhappy about the situation. But if he's suffereing from even mild PTSD, he's not going to just "take charge" and act differently than he has in the past. He's going to seem and feel wounded and "out of it."

That's what I see when I hear his sluggish speech and his submissive/detached behavior. Just my two cents.

This is a manifistation and you begin to develop post traumatic stress disorder.

Teutul Fan said...

When Paul Sr. was telling Jon about needed the money up front, was a joke. Paul Sr. sometimes comes across as a bully or "hard ass" to see how the other person reacts. Paul Jr. explains that his father sometimes tries to intimidate people. It is a common "mantual" (man ritual). Men like to see what other men are made of.

Also I believe all of the Teutuls, especially Paul Sr. are dog lovers. Paul Sr. had Ami James of Miami Ink tattoo a portrait of his English mastiff Marty on him. The Teutuls probably didn't mind Nala and Shooka being around.

Wasn't part of it filmed during and directly after Kate lied to the audience and said "Jon wanted off and wouldn't help for the sextuplets' BD party". implying that he didn't care. He then told Alexis he was working. Kate loves to play the victim. She needs called out on her lies every time she does it. This was filmed directly after the 'tups 5th BD party. While Kate was stuffing pinatas, playing victim and telling LIES, Jon most likely was working on his bike.

I don't watch OCC, but had to tune in to see how Kate would be featured. Of course, she tried to upstage Jon again.
When they were in the driveway checking out the bike/scooter, she and Jon were completely in their own little worlds, ignoring each other and the kids. (except to tell them to get out of the way).
First of all, it's sad that Jon has to spend "guy time" with a bunch of guys who are strangers to him and who would never hang out with him except for on TV. And when did he suddenly become a biker? He has time for this? And not just a bike, but the most expensive, outlandish bike possible. So tacky.
Kate on that stupid scooter, screaming downt the hill as if she was scared. Really fake and very annoying. Again, the focus on her and trying to be cute. Does she always dress in a denim mini skirt, tight t-shirt and heels at home? What happened to the sweats and baggy t shirts? And those boobs ~ just too much.
I thought it was cute when one of the little girls wanted to play with the hair of one of the biker dudes (sorry, don't follow OCC, so don't know who's who) and take his ponytail out. Do you think Kate would ever let her girls play with her hair? With dirty hands, no less??
Those guys were all so sweet with the kids. And yeah, I spotted the hired help in the background. Why are Kate and Jon so exhausted? Maybe just tired from all the energy they expend hating one another. Pathetic people.

Exactly. When I commented on your comment I didn't mean to sound as if I knew exactly why the Gosselins were holding the tups back in school. Obviously, I don't. Nor did I think I would touch a nerve in another poster. All we have go on is the past. If the tups have some delay as a result of their premature birth, they needed to begin preschool at age three. There was no pre school as three years olds and they went three days a week this year. You cannot tell me Jon and Kate made these decisions in the best interests of the tups. I am inclined to believe it was a decision made in the best interests of filming "are show." The kids clearly would have benefitted by having some structure and play time with other kids at an earlier age. But just like Kate freaked when one of the twins got a phone call from a classmate, Kate seems to want to isolate her kids as much as possible. Like John said on the Chopper show, he wouldn't be standing there (at his mansion, at least that's how I interpereted it) without those six kids. I apologize to BCSurvivor or anyone else I may have offended, but he's right. They wouldn't be there without those kids and the tups seem to always get the *really* crappy end of the stick.

Jon said that the $125,000 custom chopper that was given to him was for the kids. YEAH RIGHT!! I just told my wife I'm going out and buy my 7 year old a 40 foot Sea Ray. It's for the kids. Let's see how the kids have benefitted so far.
1. Boob job for Kate
2. Tummy tuck for Kate
3. Teeth whitening for Jon and Kate
4. Veneers for Kate
5. Hair plugs for Jon
6. 2 seater Nissan Sports car for a family of 10
7. 2 ATV's for Jon
8. Spa Trip to San Diego for Kate
9. 2 week vacation at Bald Head minus the twins.
10. Vespa Scooter for Kate
And that's just what we know about.

This may make sense for SOME of the tups, but ALL of them are being kept to the same schedule. I doubt that Alexis or Hannah really need to be held back, to name just two. And if they don't isn't it wrong to hold them back just to keep them with the rest of the pack?

Once again, the tups are being treated as an interchangeable set of objects instead of as individual children with individual wants and needs.

We decided to put orthopedic beds down thinking they'd be more comfortable, and to give ourselves more room. They have gotten used to their beds, but they really missed their crates, at first. We donated them to a rescue organization or we probably would have put them back for them. We, actually contemplated buying new ones when we realized how much they missed their "bedrooms".
***********************************
ITA, I know there are pros and cons about crating but my daughter is a huge dog lover, she researched the issue thoroughly and she is a pro-crate dog owner....at first, I wasn't sure because when I was growing up, no one crated their dog(s). But the crate does become a safe haven for the dogs, and I have seen her dogs go in voluntarily when they need a nap, etc...

Jon's ready to check out or has already done so!

In reference to what's great about having a bike--
"It's something to escape with. I can be solo. It's total freedom, total power."

"I can be free of the 8."

Honestly, I think if I had eight children by the time I was 27 and was berated by my spouse and had bath duty and breakfast duty and everything else, I probably would feel EXACTLY like Jon does! I'd probably go for every "FREEDOM" aspect that I could! I WOULD try to recapture all that I had been denied due to the instant huge family I had created.

Maybe if Jon gets these things out of his system and Kate gets her 15 minutes of fame, the two of them will begin to VALUE what they left behind (their children!)

Soon all eight children will be in school and hopefully the bibs will be gone, the children will be allowed to become more independent thinkers and the family will resume a new "Normal."

At least I HOPE things will get better for them.

I think they are already seeing that fame/money comes with a price. That price may just be more than they are willing to pay.

Along the way Jon and Kate may also GROW UP! What a concept!

This comment is really off the wall, but does anyone ever remember seeing a fence around their pool? Britney Spears got crucified for not having a fence around her pool and it's a law in Calif. Is it a law in Penn.? Also Jon got asked Kate approved of him getting a cycle cos of the cost and he said "What's mine is mine and what's hers is hers".

I didn't watch the OCC episode, just not a fan of them, so it was nice to read here what went on. Two things that are being posted on here makes me want to throw my 2 cents in, so her I go...
1. The whole debate around why the tups aren't going to full day kindergarten. I have to agree with the poster who said (paraphrasing here) that we don't know the situation regarding why they are not going to full day kindergarten. My child missed our states cutoff by 5 lousy days, so instead of having him tested and seeing if the school district would make an exception, we decided to forgo that route and we instead enrolled him in preschool again, 3 days a week. What a difference that extra year in preschool made. My child may be older than most of the kids in his classroom, but he is right on par for kindergarten, cementing, to us, that we did the right thing by not rushing him into school.
2. The dog and crate debate. I too am an animal lover, and we have a German Shepard too. We trained our dog when he was a puppy that the cage was like his own "home". Now, that is not to say that when he is bad, he is a trash stealer, we are cruel to him, but he knows to go to his cage, most of the time without being told. He also will go to his cage throughout the day, doors to it is always open, and lay down and sleep. We have found that this works best for us with our dog. To have K8 scream at Jon to crate the dogs where they belong just because they were being dogs and sniffing around on the ground for food was just wrong. Our dog sniffs and begs for food whenever we eat something, we don't put him in his crate, unless we have a lot of people over like we did this past Christmas. K8 should not have pets of any kind, she is too inhumane to have them.
Ok, done with putting my 2 cents in now.

Whomever posted last year about the "kids crooked houses" nailed it! Seems the G kids got at least 2 of them (pirate and boneyard). I'm sure there's a castle far far away for the twins also. According to the website, those custom houses start at 5 grand apiece!!

I don't begrudge those precious kids anything, hopefully all the money saved on this stuff goes towards their educations (and probably some therapy too, unfortunately).

Free the Gosselin 8!!

*********************************
First, I would have been all over his bike just to be nosy and loving, second if I had taken time to view my own gift and DH had mentioned my kids names were on his bike someone would be picking up the Teutel's because I would have pushed them out of the way to get to it and see. These two are clearly self-centered. Her more so than him. He at least wanted his kids names and birthdates on his bike. Def. something that Kate cannot take from him and resell.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Just like last night she said she can't be out of comission, that she has 8 kids to care for
( giving viewers the impression she does it all ). Really? I saw the nanny feeding them lunch, Jon said the clothes were at the cleaners, she has a housekeeper, Jon seems to do most of the driving the kids to and from school...
*****************************
I had to laugh...b**ch please you're not even home 2/3 of the time so what different does it make if you're out of commission. Other than someone would have to wait on you hand and foot, taking precious time away from your beautiful children.

All in all, I enjoyed watching Kate get hers. I looked at my DH throughout and kept saying Jon's gonna get beat for that one. He just laughed and agreed. I hated every minute Kate was on TV and enjoyed snarking on her the whole time. My DH has never gotten into J&K, but last week he had enough of me moaning about her and seeing her on the TV tabloids so he finally got online to see what the deal is. I think she might be the reason he suddenly got sick.

As far as the kids and K. I have a May bd and I don't recall it ever being a problem for me academically. I thought I had a better handle than my brother and sister who had fall birthdays as I had a few months (summer) of being 5 before I started and they did not. Then again, I read at 4 (novels...I had teen cousins who doted on me) so I could be special LOL.

Ok, I know this is random, but I've been reading the comments everyone has left, and there's a few references to Kate having a boob job. Just the other day I saw the bikini pics and was thinking to myself that she looked a little bigger up on top, but I've never heard any rumors or non-rumors that she had some boobage work done. Does anyone know for sure? Or is it all just speculation?

I keep seeing comments on all the threads about Jon seeming medicated, and it's really getting to me. I feel the need to speak up about his sluggish speech and unanimated expression...

Excellent post and right on target.

It's interesting about the dogs because this was filmed before the People comment by Jon. I'm surprised TLC didn't edit the scene out. I didn't watch thank God.I haven't watched any episodes except a part of the season opener. I have to wonder if the breeder fells pretty shitty right about now. Giving those poor animals to that first class bitch. Soon everyone will tire of her and I hope Jon takes the dogs when she kicks him to the curb. PA Animal Cops are obviously useless.

Actions DO speak louder than words and eventually their actions will either redeem them or sink them.

I hate that they gave Kate a scooter! She shouldn't have gotten anything. I thought it was funny that she wanted them to make a pink bike named Kate! She said it should be gorgeous or something snotty like that. I think all this talk about how good people think she looks in a bikini has gone to her head. I still think her body looks weird and kinda manly in a bikini. Sorry Kate your SO NOT gorgeous!!! Jon on the other hand is lookin pretty good on that bike!

I feel so sorry for her kids!

I don't think Jon deserved anything, most especially a $125K bike, no matter what he has "put up with" being married to Kate. Both of these people have exploited their children to a horrible extent. They have used their children as a way of obtaining luxuries such as this bike, vacations, hair plugs, veneers, million dollar homes, and so on. Neither of these konartists deserve anything that has been given to them as a result of exploiting their children. Nothing.

Personally, I thought Kate was rude to Mikey...calling him smelly and insulting his hair, etc. (Yes, his haircut or lack thereof does leave alot to be desired, but I'm sure the man is clean.) He was just lighthearted enough not to take her personal jabs to heart and laughed them off.

I haven't watched J&K for about 2 years so seeing her in action around the Teutles' just reminded me of how totally inept she is socially...I just couldn't get over her rudeness. She just can't seem to be genuinely 'nice'.

ie: When Mikey and Paul Jr. brought the bag of craft stuff for the kids to be creative, she turned up her nose and called it a bag of 'garbage'. I couldn't believe they wouldn't edit that out...it was just so rude. I know when my kids were young, they LOVED playing with stuff that allowed them to be creative.

Sadly, I see her rudeness rubbing off on the kids...aside from their inability to interact with one another (hitting/screaming, etc.), I see little respect toward elders and visitors in their home. Unfortunately, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Needing the money up front was probably just for the cameras so the people watching wouldn't know Jon and Kate were in no way paying for anything. We all know TLC paid for those bikes. As they have paid for everything the G's have been given.

"Dogs DO NOT belong in CRATES, Kate! I am, however, wondering if maybe YOU DO!!!"

Thank YOU!!!!! Perhaps if these dogs were better trained by their OWNERS they would refrain from rushing upon an area where people are sitting and eating. Reprimanding the dogs to their crates does absolutely nothing to teach/train the dogs about acceptable boundaries when it comes to food and people. TEACH the dog not PUNISH the dog. J & K have 23+ acres of land for these dogs to roam there is absolutely no reason why they should be detained in 'crates'.

************

Okay, I'm going to chime in here about the use of crates. Crates can be used effectively and they are not neccessarily a bad thing. By no means do I advocate confining a dog to a crate for long periods of time or as a form of punishment, but crate training any dog is really a good idea.

I am not a dog trainer. I am, however, a dog lover. My dog is crate trained. He spends most of his time outside of the crate and as part of our family, free to roam around the house. The rooms we don't want him in, we keep the doors closed. He also spends periods of time out in the back yard when the weather is nice so he can play with his Jolly ball (definitely NOT an inside toy).

At night, though, he goes to his crate to sleep. About 9:30 at night he starts to get sleepy and he'll stare at his crate (we keep the door to it closed when he's not in it because he likes to drag his blankies out to chew on). Ask him if he wants to go "night-night" and he'll run over to the microwave in the kitchen because the dog treats are kept on top of it. We get the treat and he'll run back to the crate and then into the crate where he's given the bedtime snack and the crate door is closed for the night. He snuggles down into his blankets and goes to sleep.

He considers the crate a safe place and he will run for it when he feels threatened (such as someone coming to the door or he hears a strange noise).

We also put him in the crate if we have to go away during the day to the store or to church. Better to have him in there than out destroying the house, which he will do if he's bored.

But he doesn't get put in the crate for punishment or because he's being annoying.

Another reason for dogs to be crate trained is that it does make it easier if they ever have to go to the vet and stay overnight or longer for treatment.

That said, Kate definitely hates the dogs and would just as soon have never gotten them. Some people just aren't meant to have pets...or children, for that matter.

4. Veneers for Kate
5. Hair plugs for Jon
6. 2 seater Nissan Sports car for a family of 10

I just really can't get over how much stuff the Gosselins have now. I remember Jon making a comment about how the first floor of the old house was ONLY 2,000 sq. feet. ONLY! So I imagine that the old house was at least 4,000-5,000 sq. feet.

My trailer is only about 800 sq feet, not included the porch. I wouldn't know what to do with all of that space let alone all of that stuff! I think that Jon and Kate have more things than all the people in my trailer park added up!

I almost died when I saw that fancy gate he had for his own private driveway. How much land do they own??? And he uses a tractor to make a nature trail for his kids!

I have tried pulling myself away from watching "Jon and Kate Ingrates" but I find it hard. I wasn't going to watch last night but my son who is a big fan of American Chopper was watching it in his bedroom. The door was shut but I could still hear Kate cackling. For about 15 minutes I just pressed my ear up to the door so I could listen, but I just couldn't stand it no more. So I watch the last 45 minutes with my son and then watched the repeat to get the other 15.

J&K and Jerry Springer are my two favorite shows. I try not watching them but I haven’t managed to quit. Sometimes after watching J&K I get so irritated that Kate and Jon have so much stuff that I have to watch Jerry Springer so I can feel better! I might not be fancy like Kate but at least I'm not like the folks on Jerry. I have some class.

I'm happy that the kids have their stuff. They earned it! I was so hoping that the Orange County Chopper guys would give the kids some sort of toy chopper. That would have been cute!

Only the Sheeple can watch J&K+8 and not see that show is now like an episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. This show is all about exploiting children so that their parents can have toys.
