Monday, June 15 - Bikes and Trikes

The guys from Orange County Chopper (of TLC's, American Chopper) arrive at the Gosselin home. How will the kids react when the gruff motorcycle moguls - Senior, Junior and Mikey - stop by to hang out and plan the design for Jon's custom chopper?

Why are they showing the bike stuff again? Wasn't the American Chopper episode enough?

I peeked at the TLC webisode and I don't recall seeing this on the AC episode the other night, but Kate is now not only putting her dirty feet up on the table during interviews, but now the hefer is LAYING on the couch!!

LAYING.ON.THE.COUCH
( in a dress, no less )

She is ate up with herself.

I haven't seen any previews for this yet, so I'm curious as to what we'll be seeing that wasn't shown on the other show. It seems to me that it was already wrapped up.

Maybe we'll see Kate let them in the house and cook dinner for them!

The height of rudeness and saying "I don't give a damn" is putting up bare feet while in front of a camara, so the whole viewing audience can see her big, unclean feet, right in front of your face. Absolutly NO class, and no shame.

Oh my! I knew I felt extra ble$$ings in the air the day they were in Orange County (where I live). And to think, Jon actually ate at one of my favorite restauraunts (Torches on the Hudson) AND went to the local meat-market bar I used to go to 10 years ago (Front Street). My, My,,,,I wonder if they will charge to have the privalege of sitting in the same seat that such super-stars planted their fat a$$es on (all proceeds going to J&K's KIDS of course). I got the feeling that the OCC guys probably were less than thrilled when TLC told them about doing a cross-promotion show. By the way, I always knew J&K didn't have half a brain between them..but NO HELMETS??? Kate wouldn't even try roller skating, yet she sure hitched up her skirt but quick to get on the back of that chopper. Uggh

BMWoP, it's apparently some sort of "two episode special." They showed it the other day on AC, and now we'll see it again (if anybody watches) tomorrow.

You're sooo right. Kate did it on at least one of last season's shows, too. I was disgusted then and will be even more now that she can't be bothered to put on shoes and sit properly on a chair/loveseat. Her attitude towards the viewers is one of superiority - which she isn't. If she cared about her viewers and fans and book buyers she'd present herself in a better manner and be pleasant towards them, etc. She simply doesn't care and I wonder if she has the ability to be taught any class. With her inappropriate appearance on Fri, her beach wear, the filthy feet.....I don't think she cares and no one is giving her advice either - or else she's not listening.

AC comes on Monday night 7:30-9:00 and is a Gosselin repeat. Then at 9:000 is J&K plus 8 and has the same espiosde description as AC, but is only 30 minutes.

Perhaps it's an additional 30 minutes of Kate laying on the interview couch with her dirty feet, cackling about how wonderful she is and how the men just luved her and couldn't get enough of her.

Someone mentioned how she is acting like Britney Spears did just prior to her mental breakdown. I see a lot of red flags going up with this woman, and I wouldn't be surprised if a head shaving is around the corner.

A statement mentioned earlier:
"Someone mentioned how she is acting like Britney Spears did just prior to her mental breakdown. I see a lot of red flags going up with this woman, and I wouldn't be surprised if a head shaving is around the corner."
------------------

I think the shaved head look would be a million times better than that "look" she's going for now.

Seriously though, when all this catches up with the family, and I do believe that at some point the media and general audience will tire of them and hopefully child and protective services will see the exploitation and neglect going on in that home. When this happens, I could see Kate having a nervous breakdown. Both of them, but especially Kate has let their little bit of fame, the freebies, and money they have go to their heads in a bad, bad way. Once Kate sees that they really aren't as popular and famous as she has talked herself into believing, it will be a hard, steep fall back to true reality, not the "reality" we see on tv.

As for me, this is yet another episode I will be avoiding. I gave up after the 2nd fake episode of the season. Looking forward to the hilarious reviews here, which are so much better than the actual show anyway.

Almost time for dinner, been playing with the kids... so I can't watch all the webisodes, I'll watch in the early morn but the first one she has her feet up but has capris on. Still looks so unprofessional. I don't think I would sit like that at my own house unless I was with family or my close friends.

But, and maybe I'm just reading too much into it, and I'm no body language expert but it sure screams "I'm filling Jon's spot because I don't need him anymore."

Jon however sits right where he always sat, leaving a big gaping hole of neediness.

Rosie said...

What Kate is saying to the public with the bare feet up in the camara, is 'I have no respect for any of you. I am still here, despite those of you who tell me to close the show down, so there.'
Thats why we need family and close friends around when we DO mess up, just to tell us, Whoa, slow down, what you did looked terrible, or Kate you are not being a good example for the kids. Or why would you wear a skirt to go motorcycle riding, or sit on the ground in a dress. NO one but your family and friends will tell you those things.
"Yes People" will only tell you how great you are and how everyone loves you. That's why she's so out of touch.

Laura said...

I just can't stand Kate.

Remember in earlier episodes she talked about how fashion challenged she was? When her and Jon went shopping, even Jon said he has to help Kate pick out her clothes because she sucks at it.

My have the tides turned since she has more money. She used to wear that same kkhaki skirt (As seen in her Mother's Day spa episode years ago!). Now she's wearing dresses and heels EVERYWHERE!

My, My what a change!

This "reality" show is no longer a reality. It's about a rich family who happens to have a lot of kids.

I liked them better when they were poor, for sure!

Now that TLC is mixing their show with other shows.... that tells me that they are short on ideas to keep the KON afloat. I'll bet cancellation is eminent!

Well it should be with all the scuttlebutt going on. And a big thanks to Dr. Laura, btw who is very vocal about how wrong this whole "pimping your kids for money" trend is!

I still think she's wardrobe challenged. Her outfits as of late certainly are not fashion forward -she looks very tacky.

I don't think that heartless piece of shit cares what others think of her. In fact I think she said that in an episode last season but I could be mistaken.

I was wondering why the Duggars had been so quiet when they had no problems talking about Octopussy mom but it seems they made a couple of comments recently here:

You might have to turn your speaker all the way up. The interviewer is very quiet. Like the microphone wasn't working or something.

What is even more INSULTING and PATHETIC about that episode is that it aired less than a year and a half ago (give or take) and if I recall correctly, the premise of the episode was J & K TREATING themselves to a 'shopping spree' and it required them setting aside money in their 'budget' to afford such a 'rare treat'. Flash forward to present day, Jon in his designer Ed Hardy duds and Kate sporting her $300 Cole Hahn shoes and her $180 bikini of the day while vacationing on a private resort beach in NC. Gone are the days of standing in line at the Salvation Army for heating assistance and J & K's dream date of playing dress up courtesy of the Banana Republic outlet. Now its all about tummy tucks, fake boobs, hair plugs and teeth whitening, custom built OCC chopper and designer duds, infedility and crotch shots to the paparrazi. As J & K say, they DO it ALL FOR the CHILDREN!!!

NoUse4Kate said...

Ugh! When will this show die? When will the parents show some responsibility towards their children and bring them up without cameras shoved in their faces? When will TLC take the high road and dump this woman and her mistreatment of her children, her vile attitude, vile treatment towards men and people in general? When will the madness stop?

Grrrrrrrrrrr...this is beyond irritating. There is no end in sight for those poor children. K8 you claim to be a Christian, when all is said and done do you honestly believe God will say to you, "Well done my good and faithful servant?" No way. Get your act cleaned up and take care of those babies you chose to bear. Jon, if she isn't going to do it, you better man up and do whatever you have to, to do right by them. If neither will do the right thing, I would hope the state would step in and take the reigns and do the right thing.

Yes, she's doing the same Britney act for the paps. I wouldn't be surprised if Kate or someone close to her was the one tipping the paps off about their trips to NC. Those pics looked very staged. And any other sane person could have easily avoided the crotch shots with a little common sense and proper clothing.

But there's also the disturbing similarity in that Britney had been isolated from her family and friends, and surrounded only by her scummy manager and paps. Kate is only surrounded by the TLC crew, hired help, and paps. There's no one around to keep her grounded or look out for the kids. They can fill her head with all types of nonsense as long as she's the mother of those 8 golden eggs. It's just a bad, sad situation.

Kate needs someone to tell her these people aren't her friends and don't have her best interests at heart. All they see are dollar signs.

Janet said...

I haven't watched the last 2 weeks and will never watch again. I have kept up here...but it's almost too CREEPY to watch them now. Way TMI out there and I get a knot in my stomach when I think about what the kids are going through. And the saddest part is, the worst is yet to come for the kids. This really won't hit them for a long time I'm afraid and the effects on them will be so long lasting. How they are in relationships, as parents and even as siblings to each other will all suffer from this trainwreck their parents caused.

used2Bafan said...

What everyone here has said is correct. The show used to be sooo cute and relatable, with the tired mom and the overworked dad, but now...ugh. I cannot believe how arrogant Kate has become, c'mon dirty feet up for all to see? Isn't she supposed to be a germ-a-phobe and a clean freak???? "Money is the root of all evil” No truer words were said, Kate.

Her new photos wearing the khaki shorts and blue top doesn't look too bad, her style really is almost good. But that skirt! Ugh.

MartaLou said...

Since the season opener, this show has been steadily losing viewers...yeah!! I stopped watching last season, but I gather from the tabloids and the postings here that Kate has rapidly degenerated to the point where nothing matters to her anymore besides money and her time in the limelight. She threw away her parents, siblings and friends a long time ago. Now she's split with Jon and she spends as much time as possible away from her children. Can this really be the way she wanted her life to play out? Has she forgotten all the reasons why she wanted a husband and children in the first place? She claims that everything she does is for the children, but anyone watching this show quickly realizes that the children are nothing more than a necessary commodity for her to acquire the materialistic lifestyle she so strongly craves. Right now the children's only hope appears to be Jon, but he seems so emasculated after 10 years with Kate, that I don't know if he's up to the task of parenting these kids. I pray that the children will be able to survive and recover from all the damage Kate, Jon and TLC continue to do to them.

Jennifer D said...

Jon makes the comment that the OCC guys are grounded and normal...just like them! (giggle)

I think Kate is lying on the couch because a)she thinks she is cute and b)TLC was not interested in broadcasting a panties shot on show.

Kate is emulating someone for sure and I am going to guess she has not seen this person since the mid-90's....around the time when those types of skirts were in style. I am not being snarky. She should call that person and have lunch so she can figure out how to update her style. (TLC team: pass this along to Kate)

It's almost a given the ratings will plummet again tonight, because it's already been shown on American Chopper. That was a hairbrained idea to show the same thing on both shows, and to drag a repeat into a 2-part episode that's already been seen.

I predict tonight's ratings will sink to 1 million, perhaps even less.

ManicNarcissism said...

Teryn,

I read on TV by the numbers that Jon and Kate's numbers are so strong that they are using them to uplift the numbers for other shows. Sort of like back in the day a new show coming on after Friends or some other high rated show.

Many people have posted about that these guest stars and how they are being used to boast Jon and kates numbers but it really is the other way around. They are using Jon and Kate to advertise emeril green, renovation nation, American choppers, etc.

Jon and Kate have a lot of power right now. I hope the numbers are low tonight.

ManicNarcissism said...

Oh and I watched all the webisodes and Kate is in capris, showing off her tattoo. I think she is NOT embarrassed that she has that, I think she thinks it makes her ,cool. She displayed it on her people spread. If I didn't like it then you would put your feet down or tuck that foot under. Kate is certainly self aware enough too much in my opinion to not notice this.

Maybe Kate knows that her show is going down hill, less people are watching it, and ideals are running out and this is why she is posing for the Paparazzi so much. Well, lordy be, My5Blessings. I think you're being unfair to Kate. I mean, don't you think you're being a little presumptuous when saying that her kids work? Puhhhhhh-leaze! Don't cha know, the Gosselin kids are just being filmed while doing everything other kids do!

You know, like being taken out of school to be dragged to a hot studio set and forced to sit still for multiple tv news interviews.

OR being bought expensive, high-calorie, non-organic, sugary Starbucks-y goodness drinks!

OR not being allowed to visit with their grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and lovely Beth.

OR having to wear sweaters and other fall clothes in the dead heat of summer so you can shoot for a magazine cover.

OR being threatened with spankings for stepping foot into their Mom's bedroom.

OR not being allowed to celebrate their birthday on their actual day because it is a day inconvenient for filming.

You know, things that are all clearly the same kinds of things our kids do without cameras! Because ALL kids walk around the house and say "on this episode of [Dad] and [Mom] plus [#]" multiple times until they say it just right.

So no WAY are the kids working! Oh...wait... ... ...

Very interesting observation Jennifer! I have been thinking that Kate's style is off by about a decade or so. Back in the mid-90's, I had a couple jean skirts (and a much more in shape body), and I remember wearing those skirts quite a bit, as well as a favorite babydoll sundress with my wedge sandals. I didn't show undue cleavage however - lol!

I think you may be exactly right. Kate has some outdated image in her mind of what a wealthy, successful, pretty young mom/woman looks like. Of course, she's never been 100% in reality, so she only absorbed the surface layer. Everything is appearance, without substance.

She has no idea what an idiot she is.

Some points I would like to make:

1. Niya is 100 percent correct!
2. People can't boycott things that they can't buy. For instance you can't boycott the show Jon and Kate Plus 8 but you can boycott the companies that pay for advertising on the show by not buying their products.
3. Not watching the show is not boycotting.
4. Not watching the show has no effect on the ratings unless you are a Nielsen Family Member. Cable companies and satellite companies do not collect data and send them to Nielsen, or TLC, or Subaru etc etc. (Subaru is a sponser)

I don't think there is anything wrong, per se, with the denim skirt. Stacy and Clinton would point out that the wash is too light - very 1980's color. But the skirt itself is for sale all over the place this spring. Same thing for her dresses. Every single dress I've seen her in the past few weeks has been an Ann Taylor Loft dress. Granted, some of them are a bit young for her, and they are definitely notable for the lack of appropriate underwear, but they are current styles. What I really don't understand is why buy 3 dresses, all the same style, in 3 different colors - and then do it again with another style? How many dresses of any given style does one woman need?

Exactly. The ads are showing just stuff they have already shown. Nothing NEW. Why do they keep saying ALL NEW. It is just the same stuff they showed last Thursday on the OCC. And I don't think the family type audience the show started with are tuning in any more. Why would you let your kids see these guys giving them motorcycles, and cussing all the time? It is nothing like the show use to be, and the marriage is over. Jon and Kate don't even talk to each other except Kate shoots put downs his way. Poor kids. Why can't they respect each other for the kids sake? IF what we have heard is true, it was Kates idea to end it anyway. She wanted to get rid of Jon. She should be happy. Why can't she just treat him decent in their limited time together in front of the children. He is their Father and she should honor him with that respect, even if she chooses to no long be married to him. I think it would be easier on the kids if they don't try staying together. Oh yeah, they want the money and stuff. Arg. How much stuff do you need? End it. And the time you spend with your kids can be all about them.

If she were embarrassed about the tattoo she would have it removed. She certainly wouldn't mind spending the money.

They're showing happy, funny Kate and cut out most of her yelling about the dogs. Not hard to tell there's different editors for the two shows! I am totally convinced, the show is a total sham. I hope the advertisers read that I tivo'd the show and skip past all the adds so I have no idea who is advertising at all and really don't care. TLC has now started to spin this sham by Kate donating the pink bike to the Ronald McDonald House. Kate donating anything would be like a Bishop kicking out a stained glass window.

The spin they put on this after watching the Orange County show is so obvious. TLC is a SHAM

One thing that I do not see mentioned here, never mind exploitation etc., is DANGER!!
Does this not strike anyone how parallel this is to the situation of Princess Diana (my all time favourite person) who began as a shy modest young girl and turned into a World Icon, betrayed, divorced affairs, bodyguards and the ever present paparazzi? Not that I am saying Kate was shy or modest or that she will ever reach a world class anything, but she was a nonenity and all this fame and fortune puts her and her children in danger from all sorts of predators. Does she actually see herself as protected? Fame always comes with a price and I just hope the children do not pay for this one.

You hit the nail on the head. She regifted that scooter much like that one fruitcake at christmas time. She regifted the garage sale like she paid for that stuff and pretended that they were giving this stuff away out of the goodness of their heart. In the garage episode, she added a sign for 20 dollars to take pictures of her family. With all that stuff they had on tables upon tables upon tables and they only walked away with 1,100 dollars, plus a Maddy and Cara refreshment stand, I say, call me a cab and tell me I'm I'm not a cab tomorrow. The lengths this show stretches to, just to make us believe these two people are struggling makes me think of Nicolae and Elena Ceausescu from Romania.
Frauds, frauds, frauds. Karma is a wonderful thing. Gosselin, Guzzlin, Greedling, Grooving, Jon and 8 plus the Ingrate will hopefully find that their 15 minutes are going overtime.

Look this show has turned into the Kate show with a supporting cast at best. The kids are featured briefly. When they are there they are wild..Not because they are bad kids but they get NO attention!! Who pushed their sister with their mom right there? Kate screamed because they honked the horn then threatened with a nap?? At 5...Kate Needs a nap !!!she cannot handle her liter after giving birth! Who watched the 8 when the queen went for a ride..the nanny, crew, cook or the p-people?
Yes you could see the p-people with cameras ..reflection on the back door..humm can you say this is a pr to keep ratings up..these two are not going anywhere....
I would have rather seen the kids get New bikes then the greedy parents (motorcycles) and the helmet disclaim..great example for her kids.. Toys R Us could not donate bikes to the eight! The parents are pulling the wool over everyone's eyes..why do I think they will have to go on a reconcile trip to somewhere..just watch..(No speaking engagements till Oct)The Gosselins do this truly to support their habits...spend spend spend!
The show is boring! Repeated the other show to a t!!! Why bother..I guess after they read the headlines they will have to revamp the next shows again.
FYI the bike had her name and the kids in pink paint..Tell BM to bid...

Actually denim skirts and babydoll dresses have come back into style for younger girls. I'm 24 and I wear that stuff on the weekends... I think Kate is just trying to relive her teens-20s. I wouldn't say her style of dress is anachronistic. They were wearing that stuff on Laguna Beach (the show) circa 2004-05.

Kate hinted about that very thing in an episode late in season 4, not sure which exact one it was but she went shopping (Ann Taylor Loft, I think) and was drooling over the clothes and how much loved
shopping...and I believe she and Jon compared how she is now, fashion-wise, to when they started the show, and Jon actually brought up the idea of a show just about Kate's fashion timeline and Kate mentioned Stacey and Clinton being on that show...so don't be surprised if it does happen...

In another decade, the fine establishment would have been called a beauty parlour.

Her activity would be called her weekly trip to the beauty parlour to have her hair set and nails done.

TLC wants the viewers to see another hard working Mom treating herself so they can empathize with her life and want to buy products placed in the show so they can be more like her (and have time to treat themselves).

Essentially, using a reality show, TLC is selling the myth of the mom that has time.

As for how much they get paid for the show, I think it's probably $75k EACH. There is a reality show on MTV called "The Hills" which has lower viewership numbers than JK8, and the top 3 stars, EACH, make $65K per episode. The second highest salary on "The HIlls" is $63K.

I have come to dislike Kate so intensely that there is basically nothing she does that doesn't make me angry: the pink hat (so she could say, "Since everyone's talking about my hair, I thought I'd wear this.") The incredibly fake laughter, like artillery fire,
as though she's saying, "Look, everyone, aren't I fun?"
The ridiculous screams as she rode down her driveway (to insure that everyone was watching her, every step of the way).
Repeating how Paul Sr. said she was "cool," and pointing out - although no one asked! - how it was her own idea to go for a ride with Paul Sr. and to take a ride on the scooter they gifted her with.

She couldn't bear to let Jon have 2 seconds of air-time, even to talk about his new bike.

And that disgustingly fake and loud snort of a laugh she emitted in the spa. Please!

I despise the person she is - condescending, inconsiderate, selfish and self-impressed, as well
a total ingrate, thinking that everything is owed her.

To Kate Gosselin, 'humility' is a foreign word. I simply cannot bear her!

Roseliza said...

Let me get this straight...

In the episode where the family went ice skating in Utah, Kate refused to skate because she said there was NO WAY should could risk getting injured when she has 8 kids to take care of.

During the "Cara's Day" episode she used the same excuse about rollerblading.

But she has no problem whatsoever about jumping onto the back of a motorcycle, with no helmet?

...Though maybe it no longer matters to her, since she doesn't really take care of the kids herself anyway.

Tonight's program was interesting. Three things I have noticed in tonight;s program and in some of the media pictures..Kate seems to enjoy chewing gum throughout the scenes. She always has that pink phone up to her ear, and last. was the pose on the couch--it was overkill and made her look like an attention-seeking child!

I have grandchildren older than Kate, so I feel I can speak with some authority. Gum chewing in public is poor taste....and it is something we were not allowed to do when I was growing up. My father always said it was "vulgar". I don't know about that, but I know I have always cringed when I am waited on by someone chewing their gum.

One regret I have, as a mother, is that I spent too much time on the phone when my kids were growing up. Those precious days slip by so quickly and soooo much time can be wasted on the phone. Carrying it around when she shops with the children, is outside with them, makes be feel so very sad for the children.

I am not going to be watching much as it makes me too uncomfortable watching the "show". It all feels fake now. Last year I seldom watched because I felt so embarrassed for her in the way she spoke to Jon, and I felt embarrassed for him in way in which he was addressed by her!

It is truly a heart breaking situation. I observe loathing between those two and I do wonder if that can ever be overcome. I trust for the childrens' sake whatever is going to happen will take place soon so they can settle down to the "new normal". If we feel uncomfortable, think how those little kids feel???

I have to admit that I watched the OCC special and the episode tonight. What I thought was interesting that in this episode many of the Kate put-downs, by Jon and the OCC crew, where edited out. I would not think for a minute the TLC would allow their princess to be torn to shreds on her own show.
The edit that jumped out to me was when Jon was at the shop saying he had to leave. In the J&K episode they conveniently left out the part where he says, "I have to go pick my kids up from the bus stop."
It shows that the edits in this show are clearly leading the viewer to believe Kate does it all, although in the OCC special they mention numerous times that Jon is the stay at home dad that takes care of the kids.

The scripting of this show is such a joke..I would love to know what the Tuetel's REALLY think of Queen Kate..I tend to think it is far from favorable. Nice job Kate teaching your kids its ok not to wear a helmet..and what is with Kate lying on the couch? Did all that testosterone with all the men around get her excited? She really does not deserve those dogs and her demanding to have them put in the crate thingy 'where they belong' makes me wonder how often those poor dogs are kept in there (probably quite often so as not to disturb the Queen) I wish Jon would try to use a more mature vocabulary..it seems 'awesome' and 'sick' are his favorite words..I also think Jon should stop whining about being a stay at home dad and speaking of how he wants to get away and be free..newsflash Jon "Free of Eight' Gosselin: Most parents actually have to work to raise their kids and do not have their kids working to support them..its very obnoxious of you to snivel about your lack of freedom..do you think your kids don't pick up on your 'I want to get away' vibes?? Grow up!! Its not interesting watching you try so hard to be cool and hanging with the guys and 'messing around and shooting things'..you also show a lack of class to make a joke out of having female friends..shame on you Jon for continuing to exploit your kids and for your selfishness..your kids may want to be FREE of you and Kate sooner than you think!!

I think everyone needs an outside interest, a hobby just to keep the sanity. Jon had motorcycles till he married Kate. If that is the thing that keeps him happy in life, I say go for it.
******************************
When I mentioned the two seater car to my hubby, he said Jon needs it to get away. I cringed but said okay. NO father needs a 2 seater sports car and a motorcycle, especially when he does not work.

Some points I noticed:

The king and queen were seated on their white plastic thrones in the driveway as they waited for OCC to drive up.

At the beginning of the episode Jon said OCC gave him the bike. Jig is up.

All narrations by Kate refer to how wonderful she is or is all I, me, I.

The helmet law lie is killing me. Yes, PA does have a no helmet law. If you have a motorcycle license. If you only have a permit, you must have a helmet. There are also specific time periods, etc. My dh just got a motorcycle, he works, and it was actually sort of a gift from his parents. They gave him a car, he fixed it and cleaned it up then sold it, used the proceeds to buy his bike. As a working father, I think he needs his time. That being said, he just got his license. When he got his permit, he had to take a motorcycle safety class or wait either 6 months or a year to get the full license. During the time he waited, he was required to wear a helmet, and could not have passengers. I'm pretty sure that since Kate does not like cycles, she does not have a full license, therefore she would be required to wear a helmet. I really wish the state police of PA would see this episode and ticket her. There is absolute proof of her guilt. Jon on the other hand may have his license due to his past experiences.

The scooter. How freakin rude is it to announce to the world that you do not want a gift and then give it away. "I instantly knew that I wanted to donate it, I did not want to keep it." What an ungrateful b***ch. And enough of the screaming. If you're that scared get off the darn thing.

I do love the graphics on Jon's bike, as I do all OCC bikes.

Loved Mikey asking for Us Weekly, lets Kate know that he knows all the rumors.

Kate wants to do a charity event with Mikey to make kids happy. Helloooo try making your kids happy first.

How incredibly rude to say that hanging with someone was shockingly amazingly tons of fun. That's like saying you think that person is boring or an arse. Such a backhanded compliment.

I did not want to watch this episode but after seeing OCC being the snark, I had to see how it was edited for Kate and was all about Kate.

New show name Kate and those annoyingly horrendous 9 people who interfere with her freebies.

The UK has its own version of Kate...her name is Katie Price and she was married to Peter Andre and they had a reality show (minus the 8 kids of course) and the woman is a total B**** who belittled and verbally emasculated her husband constantly on the show, she flirted with other men and was completely obsessed with her appearance and image and she also has orange spray tans:) Well, Peter finally had enough and walked out and has filed for divorce..Katie wasn't expecting that and is trying desperately to save her 'image' yet like Kate Gosselin..there is no amount of damage control that will help her..the public completely supports her husband and thinks she is a shrew..Katie is pretty lonely now and is probably wishing she treated her husband better but he has moved on and is trying to rebuild his shattered self confidence..take a look over the pond Kate Gosselin..you are well on your way to being a very lonely woman/pariah yourself

Three comments --

#1 - J&K have NO friends, so of course they loved having the OCC guys hanging at the house. The sad thing is all 8 kids are growing up without the knowledge that regular people have friends and family to occasionally come around.

#2 - I would have hated to be a client at that spa with the cameras and Kate's loud mouth phony laugh and comments.

#3 - Are you going to tell me OCC couldn't have done this type of episode with perhaps a guy who just got back from serving in the military overseas? Does Jon really warrant or need another freebie? I bet there are plenty of people who could use one for their main transportation.

I need to quit watching the show, but i love the kids.

Did anyone else notice how Kate's bike-( that she doesnot like or want )is going go be given to charity by "her" but Jon's bike (that he likes and wants) is being kept by Jon. Does this not smack of Kate wanting to appear to be kind and generous and Jon to be the greedy selfish brute. OCC is the one who made and paid for her bike - not kate. It appears to me that TLC is trying to push for Kate as the good one and Jon as the evil one.

LovingMom said...

The show was a complete rehash of the previous AC show -- with different editing, of course. And shown right after the repeat of AC. What is TLC thinking? How to bore the TV audience. Week after week -- way to drive the rest of us to a different channel.

Yet another major pair of freebies -- I guess there is no other premise for this sad show except for the goodies of the week or the guest of the week and preferably both.

It is shocking to see what this show has made of Jon and Kate. It's taken their worst qualities and magnified them. And robbed their kids of a normal childhood in the process.

What a high, high price to pay for freebies and ill-gotten gains.

LOL!!! I didn't watch but that is too funny.

...also OF COURSE TLC is going to say Jon's bike was a GIFT...don't want the "fans" to think they spend the money they are making off their kids on things like that. That's why they don't show the entire house, pool etc. LIAR LIARS

Okay, I'm going to hold my snarky comments about the show for a second, and address some of some of you... Some of you are way overexaggerating some comments. Make all the comments you want about Kate and the gang, but at least have some basis for your accusations. I have been seeing this more and more, and it's driving me nuts.

MayDay said...

Also, did you hear when Kate said the dogs came out right on "cue"- yeah unscripted. Tell me another lie.

Clearly you haven't had a dog, or you would get the comment. The moment dinner is served at my house, the dog comes running, Before he's all over the place. Turn your back, he's eaten the main dish. Right on cue. That's what she meant, not "Oh hey! We're scripted!" Not everything is meant to be taken literally.

And to whoever said it; that was not a horse trailer. That was an OOC trailer they use to haul bikes. Maybe I made it up, but I swore I saw an OCC logo on it as well, and no breathing holes for horses.

And the helmet thing... I can see your point, but I won't demonize them for not wearing one. Personally, I don't even like riding a bike without a helmet (but I bike next to cars going 35+ mph), but plenty of folks don't wear helmets on bikes, cycles, etc. Jon and Kate aren't the first. The kids not wearing theirs though... Even on bikes with training wheels, that's very iffy for me. :\

I don't mind ragging on Kate, as I'm certainly fed up with her, or Jon, since him getting his act together is far overdue, but I really feel making baseless accusations goes against the whole point of making any accusations in the first place. We want these people off the air, if anything, for the good of their kids(and maybe to knock Kate down a notch). Making asinine accusations does nothing. Against Kate and Jon and the show, at least.

Now, some notes about the actual show, which was really just the AC episode edited differently and with different narratives. I loved the design on Jon's bike. I didn't even understand the Crazy Eights thing at first, or the one die with two dots, and the other die with six. That was insanely clever, and brilliant designing. And it was a "gift" from the OCC. :\ I can't say it's evil of him to want one, though. I would love to have one, and I don't get why some people say "A father doesn't need a bike." Well, we don't need a lot of things, but we all have them. Most people I know who have bikes are fathers. Not expensive OCC bikes, though. =P

And I loved Jon's comment about male friends. This isn't verbatim, but he doesn't have many male friends, as we all know. I laughed. ;]

But ugh. The rest of the time, Jon just seemed like a teenager trying to justify his actions. He's so emasculated. The way he acted when Paul Sr ragged on him, he got all timid and defensive and practically curled into a ball. On the couch, at least. :\ Jon is 32. He needs to grow some balls. Or at least buy some. Goodness knows they have the money.

As for Kate... I can't say anything that hasn't been said. She disgusts me. Everything about her. The way she treats Jon, her family, her guests, just everyone. There are no words anymore, other than "That's Kate Gosselin."

Also, I wonder if the Tuetel's knew Kate was going to be giving away the scooter. I mean, they did design it specifically for her (e.g., "Jon's Bike"). I can't say giving it to charity to be auctioned is a horrible motive (because it's not), but still. Something doesn't sit well with me... At least someone will get some good out of it, though. :] And it's not like she was going to use it, anyway...

All in all, I have not been moved from my position of get this show off of the air.

Kallie said...

Oh! I almost forgot.

We all know now about the clip of Kate denying Mady water, and then drinking some herself. I assumed it was because Kate didn't think Mady could drink out of a water bottle, what with asking for cups and all. Because yanno, 8 year olds have no motor control. Anyway, one of the five year old girls is shown drinking out of a water bottle, with no problems at all. Two things ran through my head: Kate's not around, because she ain't freaking out about this! And: This just reinforces what we all know; There was no reason for Kate to deny Mady water.

This clip could have just been in the AC episode, though. Either way, I was still bothered by it.

Anonymomma said...

You know that saying "Give them enough rope and they will hang themself"?

Yep, Kate is getting her noose ready. I will honestly be surprised if there is a season 6.

All of the attention they are receiving in the media these days has at least a slight undertone of negativity. The water-gate incident is everywhere, and it was one of the top 3 searches on MSN yesterday. Thinking back to what made me 'see the light', I can pretty much pinpoint it to one incident (Joel-Gate), even though I noticed red flags before that (her yeling in the toy store, her freaking her freak trying to get a photo at the Christmas tree farm, lack of friends and family, even certain mannerisms like her eyes darting all over the place when she lies).

Water-gate, I believe, is fast becoming the aha moment for a good majority of sheeple. Seriously, what can they say about that? Mady was just jelus of Kate's water?

I haven't watched the show in a very long time now, and I don't even watch it on the net. To me, it is now the equivelant of watching a mom slap her child in the middle of a grocery store, and not saying or doing anything to stop it. By watching, I feel responsible. And I refuse to be an accomplice to this.

I don't know how true it may or may not be, but there is a rumor floating around the net that basically states Beth Carson's reason for stepping out of the picture was due to something that happened backstage at the Ellen show. Beth was asked to come along and help with the kids. Supposedly, Jon took punishment of one of the tups (Alexis) a little too far and Beth stepped in. They argued, and Beth (after the show) walked away and never looked back.

I don't know how true this is, but it's possible that it is. And just the possibilty of it makes me feel like a criminal just for watching.

I'm going to play Devil's advocate here... If OCC gave them a bike (for free), and Emeril cooked for them (for free), and everything else has been done for free, then it's not coming out of the kid's pockets, right? She was the same color as the couch - it looked liked a couch with a head. I love how she had her nasty feet up on the couch as well. That episode showed her walking around the front of the house barefoot - no wonder her feet as so disgusting.

I think Jon believes the audience is as stupid as he is - first he feels compelled to tell us what PR stands for, now OCC? Thank you Jon, the rest of who know how to format a Word document, your fellow IT analysts know what OCC stands for.

One more observation - when Mikey asked for a US Weekly, Kate cackling just proves to me, she doesn't give a a rat's ass about her marriage. She isn't she sad, she isn't a victim, stop playing the martyr. She clearly just wants to stay on the gravy train, without her husband, without her kids - not much difference to her.

The cost of an OCC bike is $150,000.00 but Jon specifically researched and choose the most expense parts in the world so that his bike would be far more expense and this was a donated bike from OCC. NICE! Then he has the nerve to request that his kids initials go on the bike as "his bike would not be possible without them". Yeah! He wouldn't be standing there without their existence as he states himself. How pathetic is he? Absolutely no self-respect.

Oh, I like the part when he says he dropped the kid's clothes off at the drycleaners to be professionally pressed before he arrived. WHAT? How does that work? Do your kid's tee shirts and jeans need to be professionally pressed at a drycleaner? Do you know how expensive that is? They charge like $8.00 a shirt. These people have lost it!

Couple of things I noticed:
1. TLC didn't edit out all of Kate's critical comments (ungrateful stuff! for example when they brought the scooter out - Kate made some snide remark about the 'paint' on the seat being a 'mistake' but they decided to leave it there. You could CLEARLY tell she wasn't happy about it! Some of the things she says lately, well, most of the things she says lately, leave me shaking my head in utter disbelief!)
2. Kate said they weren't wearing helmets but going only "4 1/2 miles per hour" HOWEVER - SHE was CLEARLY going more than that when she was on the scooter alone and SELF ADMITTEDLY stated she had never ridden anything like that before! Did she not realize she could WRECK and hurt herself flying up and down their driveway just as easy as if she were on a road?
3. It seemed like there was MUCH less footage of Jon in this episode? Also - I'd bet MONEY that KATE was behind 'getting the scooter' -- because as you watch - the big build up was SUPPOSED to be about JON's BIKE - yet it gets a 2 second glance because the cameras immediately focus in on KATE's pink scooter! UNREAL. I don't know about everyone else - but I was interested in seeing/hearing about Jon's new custom made bike - but had ZERO interest in looking at a scooter!

Mary said...

Did anyone else notice the eye rolling and the disgusted look on her face when Jon got on the bike and she said "Let him go!" I'm sure it was all because the episode was about Jon instead of her; I mean, the kids. :)
------

The one that really got to me was when Mikey was entertaining the kids with his ventriloquist's dummy. (I used that big word to differentiate it from the other dummy on the set) Right in the middle of it, Kate barges in front of the camera laughing like a hyena with a paper napkin to wipe the sweat off his face! Bizarre.
Is she's so "exhausted" all the time, why doesn't she just go lie down when she's not supposed to "on".

The other thing that caught my attention, in light of what people have said here, was that when the guys were sitting in the back yard, the view was very carefully boring -- just grass and a shed or whatever it is. no woods, no view, no pool, no lovely back deck (there probably is one, given the surroundings).

So over it said...

Didn't watch. Don't care anymore.

Kate is need of some serious help and I think she is headed for some sort of mental break down soon. The act she is putting on only exposes her insecurities and her isolated world she has created for herself.

God help those kids.

MomofFour said...

I think TLC is definitely trying to set Kate up to be some kind of celebrity...which is ridiculous. First of all...the high heels need to go. Please. The short skirts and high heels...she looks like a hooker. It's really bad taste for a woman her age. My daughter watched the show and she was even put off by Kate's "Diva" mentality. When she signed the scooter at the Ronald McDonald House my daughter was like "OMG...can you believe that? Does she think she is really that important?" My next observation was the behavior of the kids. If I had a guest at my home...would I allow my children to mishandle their things? Attack and hit and tear apart their possessions? That was embarassing. Kate seemed to think it was funny...I didn't. I thought it showed the children were undisciplined. Third observation: Kate and Jon seem to be "making fun" of the publicity their getting on the tabloids. Kate made great effort in showing that she really does not give a flip that her face is on the cover of every tabloid out there and in fact...she appears to enjoy the attention. That tells me she does not care about the consequences this will have on her kids. Her attitude apparently is "I'm making money...I get the last laugh". Well...if you want your selfish needs met first and to heck with the life your kids are going to have as a consequence of your behavior...I guess you wouldn't care. It's called denial. This family, Jon and Kate, really make my stomach turn. It's so sad that these kids are going to grow up just as selfish and undisciplined as their parents. In 15 years they will be tabloid trash food....and Jon and Kate are standing at the edge of the lake just throwing the bait in the water. It's sad and it's disturbing. This show is becoming "We're rich and priviledged and laugh in your face" and quite frankly...I'm not watching it anymore. I do not know any person who watched this show before who wants to watch it now. And if they do...they are critical of it. Why any normal person would want that? MONEY is the only reason.

I hate to date myself, but if you're old enough to remember the TV show "Dynasty", you'll remember the Queen of Bi#&!es, Joan Collins, who played Alexis. The producers of that show made her the most despised woman in America at the time, and their ratings went though the roof.

I was out last night and figured I catch the show on the later rerun. After watching an hour and a half of American Chopper, I fell asleep and never saw the J&K+8 episode...but I'm sure I'll see it while channel surfing later.

Other posters have said how they enjoyed seeing Jon with the Teutels...I just found that I disliked Jon more and more. Although he shows true affection for his children, he clearly does not want to be a full time dad. Jon needs to find some meaningful work, some purpose in life, and stop the pity party. I'm sick of hearing him try to be a teenager again. GROW UP. Things change when you become a parent, and I can honestly say my life was never better than when I became a mom.

Jon and Kate are playing games and when they older are look back they will regret what they have done...

TLC should really stop showing old episodes, especially when there is a brand new one right before it. The visable physical difference in Kate last night was too much for me to take! Even my husband, who was moaning about watching the whole circus, said he found her to be phony, both physically and in personality. She at least LOOKED like a mom to eight kids in the second episode last night. No makeup, packing coolers, laughing at Jon, who couldn't back the trailer up... regular stuff that happens when people go on vacation. The first episode was too staged, she was perched on the couch sideways, laughing about the OCC guys, looking ridiculous with the hair, tan, makeup, tatoo! What happened to Kate, the mom? She has turned into her version of a "movie star". What a joke!

SHAM SHAM SHAM.
SHAME SHAME SHAME.

The spin they put on this after watching the Orange County show is so obvious. TLC is a SHAM

------
My exact thoughts while watching last night. I DVR'd it and watched it later. I almost didn't bother based on the fact we've now seen it 2X - original OCC and again prior to J&K+8. But I did anyways.

WOW - what editing....a lot of the scenes were the same - sans some sarcasticism (is that a word? :) ) Some VERY obvious edited out scenes - the dogs being one of most obvious to me. Several spots for the kids project and the ventrilogist dummy. Shame shame shame.

But when it came to her so quickly volunteering that pink scotter and her plug for the Ronald McDonald house I about fell off my couch. She mentions it not less than 2-3 times about wanting to do her next "charity" with Mikey.......Will that woman and that show go to no low lengths to self-promote? Wow.

Jon and Kate not wearing helmets was one of the dumbest things TLC could have aired. It's a FAMILY channel and they have an opportunity to "teach" safety. What if Kate wiped out on her stupid little scooter, right in front of the children? When I was a child I saw a young boy trying to knock a kite out of a tree with a pool skimmer. Needless to say he hit the electric wires and was killed in front of me. I was 9 and it honestly scarred me for life. It should be Kate's first thought at all times on how to protect her children...but we know it is not. That is why I think TLC should have stepped in and demanded that their "stars" wear helmets or they weren't riding. Those kids don't need any more trauma in their lives, really. It shocks me that there is no one looking out for their best interests.

My usual random thoughts:

- Kate is a terrible actress. Her high pitched pretend surprise at the pink scooter was way over the top.

- Kate is the most ungrateful woman on the planet. I cannot believe how rude she was about that scooter.

- it doesn't matter who donated to where since it was ALL paid for by TLC.

- the OCC boys know the deal and they made reference to it on their show when they asked Jon if Kate was ok with him getting a bike. Jon replying that they each get their own stuff was interesting.

- Kate "donated" (AKA: DUMPED) her unwanted scooter but did not miss the chance to make up new words. I did not DVR this so I can't rewind but didn't see say "Motorcycley" and "Scootery"???

- the kids were a mere afterthought to both of their parents in this episode.

-did the OC guys really come there twice or was that all filmed on the same day? I noticed that the van and Jon's car were in the exact same spot for both segments and it got me wondering.

-Kate is so white trash that she doesn't even realize that a Hair/Nail salon is not a SPA. Does she think it makes her more cool to call it a spa?

-it drove me nuts when the OCC guys were complimenting her scooter riding skills. Come on now, is it really that hard? Were they really impressed? Did someone make them say that?

I think Jon was just telling the truth and that is refresing coming from a member of KON. He is a stay at home dad and the work can be frustrating, boring and unrewarding. He admits that he wants time away from his kids. Who doesn't want that? Just because we love our children doesn't mean we don't need time away.

On the other hand it was interesting to hear Kate saying to the kids "you graduate pre-school and now you are going to REAL school" What a biotch. Way to minimize your child's milestone Kate. She also gleefully shared that they will be gone all day next year. I am a mother of 5 and I cried when each of them entered Kindergarten. I hated to see them gone for the day.

Finally!

I'm so thrilled, I just had to post (first time, but I've been following and cheering for months). I DVR'ed last night (series recording), then sat down later to watch it. I made it only through the previews when I just couldn't stomach one more moment (I saw the helmet-less chopper and scooter rides). I deleted the episode and removed the series from my recording list. YEAH! This show, these people, are just not worth my valuable summer time!

I think that Kate's face plastered across the mags at the supermarket checkout stands also contributed, but, frankly, I love (respect, appreciate) little kids too much to watch this charade continue. I'm a preschool teacher, and I wouldn't talk to any of my little students even half as harshly as I see these kids talked to every week. It hurts me to see what's happening to them, and I want to reach out to them, but, of course, I can't. Even if they're not being abused, they are NOT being raised in the environment that will ensure them a contented (CONTENTED Kate, that's something you will NEVER be!), successful life as adults. All for monetary things today. What a waste.

(Of course, I'll continue to read this blog and enjoy your snark, so please continue!!)

I think Kate has been handling the tabloid stuff pretty well, considering. I know some of you think she is hiring "fake" paparazzi to photograph her every move, but not even Kate would resort to a crotch shot for attention. I found her self-deprecating sense of humor pleasant for once.

Like when she said "well, since my hair is the talk of the town anyway, let's make it a little bit worse," and she throws on the crazy pink wig. Funny. I don't know what people are thinking, but its not like she is going to go out and get a total makeover because bloggers and viewers don't like her haircut. Even if the comments have made her insecure about it, changes would emerge gradually over time, not in time for the next episode.

And hooray for Mikey making the US Weekly comment. Kate seemed to get a good laugh, and it wasn't a "kiss my ace, America" laugh either, it was a "that was darn funny Mikey" laugh. At least in my opinion. Pretending that this media frenzy isn't happening isn't realistic, and I thought that these were good ways to recognize the situation without seeming like whiners.

BEST thing they can do is have them actually talk to a REAL professional instead of a PRODUCER. This is AMERICA, most people KNOW what a disfunctional marriage looks like....What we don't know is what it takes to overcome those problems and actually save a marriage.

This was BY FAR the WORST episode yet. I can't believe that this once very entertaining show has lost almost all of it's charm.

The only moment of the whole show that was similar to how things used to be was when the dogs made a grab for the food and Kate bellowed "JON!!!!!," using her horrendously horrendous ToysRUS voice. Another cringe-worthy moment!

That's the only time she's personally addressed him in months. I think the only reason she liked having him around was for the services he provided: take the kids here, take them there, move the furniture, drive the van, give the kids their bath.

Boy, those kids must be dirty by now.

If Stacey and Clinton are going to visit Kate they should tell her the rule is no mini skirts after age 30. There should also be a manners training for Kate. She should know not to shout at her husband (esp when there are guests/visitors, esp CAMERAS in their faces!).

I watched both the American Chopper episode and JK+8 episode and something totally stuck out to me...

On the A.C. show, Paul Sr. says to John, something about how they require the money in full up front. And if he doesn't like the bike OCC gets to keep it. So I walked away from that episode thinking that Jon had to pay for the motorcycle.

Then on JK+8, when Jon is introducing the episode he says that he was lucky enough to be *given* an OCC bike.

I assume that the A.C show spun it that way so that they wouldn't appear as big JK+8 fans to their male audience. Or so it doesn't appear like they jumped on that bandwagon??!!

So funny how shows pick and choose what they want to "come across"...

Two things I noticed.

1) The OCC guys seemed 'impressed' that Jon did his homework and knew what he wanted. That turned my stomach. Jon was getting a free bike and instead of happily accepting whatever was thrown his way, he researched exactly what he wanted. It was like asking for gold caps on the proverbial 'gift horse'.

2) When the OCC guy was playing with the dummy with the kids. The kids are cute but are pretty ill-behaved. I may get some backlash for this but I think they are very disrespectful towards each other and other adults. I, of course, don't blame them - teaching them proper behavior is the parents' job. In that case, they don't have a prayer.

Did anyone else think that the Amer Chopper guys did Kate's bike that way on purpose? It was horrendous. I was laughing so hard. John's was sleek and professional, Kate's looked like Strawberry Shortcake threw up on it. I wonder how they felt about it being donated it to the Ronald McDonald House? I'm thinking if they knew beforehand, they would have done a serious job on it.
It was like they were trying to stick it to Kate on purpose with its gaudiness, but she stuck it right back at them by getting rid of it. It was in NO shape to be donated and she knows it had to be an embarrassment to them. It was just mean of her. It was a gift to HER. Period. She should be making financial contributions to the charity with her "own" (sort of) money, not with someone else's gift. Even if you don't like the gift Kate, be gracious.

I also wonder if she ended up charging the Ronald McDonald House $10 for autographing it?

Has anyone noticed how Jon's apparel has changed from the Christian t-shirts to the teenage type (skulls)? There is a definite change this season.

I was wondering why the Duggars had been so quiet when they had no problems talking about Octopussy mom but it seems they made a couple of comments recently here:

I watched this and while it was clear that they were uncomfortable being asked that question by the reporter, I thought they gave a great answer.

I don't agree with the Duggars lifestyle, but at least they have a respectful relationship with one another. Jim Bob hit the nail right on the head when he said, "I think the key is to always speak positively to each other." And then Michelle said something about having humility. Foreign concepts to J&K, but still something they need.

Its amazing how both of them are trying to reclaim the lives they gave up when they became parents. Jon dates 23 year-olds and Kate is trying to dress like them. Even though they are making money off their kids, they are both trying hard to erase any evidence of children in their lives. Last night's show proved that. It was all about what Jon and Kate WANTED and not at all about what the kids NEEDED. The kids are just some sideshow act caught in the glare of their parent's greed and stupidity.

I don't watch the show anymore, only read the blogs so I don't know what "Joel-Gate" is/was? Can someone fill me in? Thanks.

I'm Watching Tonight! said...Some points I would like to make:

***********************************************

If you think cable companies and places like Tivo don't track viewer habits and sell the information, you're sadly mistaken. They have been doing it for years. How do you think they knew how many people saw Janet Jacksons wardrobe malfunction? They even knew how many people rewound and watched it again? So even if you are recording it on a DVR, they know.

Here is an article on Tivo (which I use) talking about selling this info to advertisers and one about cable companies.

Here are some links that verify this.

When Paul Sr. was giving Jon a hard time by asking if he was man enough to own a bike, Kate chimed in by making a sarcastic sound like, you must be joking Paul Sr. and crew! Jon waves his arm towards her way as if to say, just ignore her. She believes this type of harassment and degradation is cute and impresses people. Just imagine what she says and does to Jon in private. These types of actions make her feel so good inside, and makes her feel superior and powerful in comparison to Jon. I wonder what this nasty woman tells her kids about their own dad? They certainly witnessed that scene with Paul. Very Sick Evil Woman. Her ego is on a roll and there's no sign of it stopping anytime soon. I see NOTHING positive or redeeming about Kate Gosselin whatsoever.

Speaking of Jon....the 'poor pitiful me' act is getting tiresome. Yeah, his jabs at Kate started out as funny but, come on man, get over it. I am so sick of the 'appearently I can't do this....appearently I can't do that....' Stop playing a beaten down victim. Yes, you were verbally abused in your relationship but by all accounts, you are out. Stand up, act like a man, continue to be good to your kids but grow a pair and quit with the 'poor me' routine. The minute you stop acting like a victim is the minute you stop being one.

Refers to an episode where the kids were going through a stomach virus (which Kate the nurse kept mistakenly calling 'the flu'). Joel was pretty sick in that episode, poor little guy. One of the boys - I'm pretty sure it was Joel - vomited while in bed. Kate went off with one of her loud, dramatic, "Oh my God! Look what you did!" things, like we saw when one of the girls was a baby and her poopy diaper leaked all over the crib. So Kate doesn't worry about comforting her poor, sick child. She's more put out by the laundry she has to do. She brings poor Joel down to the laundry room and puts him on a thin, old blanket or sheet on the hard, cold laundry room floor and gives him a vomit bowl. That's where he's to sleep/rest. On the laundry room floor. She says that's so her carpet won't get dirty if he misses the bucket. When Jon gets home, he takes the child into their their room and puts him to bed in their bed. Kate only wants to rave about "what his son did" in dirtying his bed with vomit.

I have not watched the show in months and last night I decided to watch. I laughed at the "scene" where Mikey has the puppet and is trying to entertain the kiddos. Kate just couldn't help herself and like three or four times had to interject herself into the frame.

God she is such a famewhore.

I agree with Jennifer D. It IS difficult being a stay at home parent. Jon is not happy doing it. He has said that many times. He needs something else that would give him purpose in life, and then maybe he would grow up. I don't care how young he was when he had children. He made a choice. He needs to find the best way to be a parent to those children.

At the end of the J&K+8 episode [at the Ronald McDonald house] did anyone else wonder . . . WHY was Kate wearing a black apron with her name on it? Could it be a hint at a future cooking show????

laura linger said...

I skipped to the parts with the kids and Mikey and watched only that. Mikey was terrific with those kids and really had them laughing with the Charlie McCarthy doll. That, to me, is the only part of this show worth watching anymore, the bits with those precious kids. They are very, very cute.

In this episode, more blatant "in-your-face-America" from Kate to the rest of us:

1. OCC guys sitting in her WHITE PLASTIC CHAIRS ON HER DRIVEWAY.

2. OCC guy going TO THE SPA with Kate.

..things we have all blogged about, her sitting in a white plastic chair and going to the spa.......

Yep, she reads (or her "staff" reads) these blogs and shoves it back at us every chance she gets.

Ok - I officially no longer feel sorry for Jon. He gets a custom made bike from OCC - JUST FOR HAVING 8 KIDS?!?!?!?
My husband, who is wonderful & loves motorcycles was practically in tears looking at that beautiful bike. He even said he'd be willing to put up with her and have 8 kids if that was the reward. Making the appointment with the fertility doctor now...hee hee hee.

Iggy, I agree with you. Jon's bike was amazing, and Kate's was a mess.

I think it their way of saying "FU, Kate". I did not get the impression that they were particularly impressed with her. I even think Mikey's trip to spa was subtle way to make fun of her.
