To quote Kate, "Who's idea was this???"

Well kate,

1.it was your idea to have the tups when you already had the girls

2.it was your idea to do the show

3.it was your idea to exploit your children for personal gain, AND

4. it was your idea to spray tan yourself into an oompa loompa!

Oh right,Katie Irene has no idea how to take blame but can dish it out like a short order cook!

Won't be watching. Look forward to recaps and comments here.

Oh, fantastic. Another outing where the kids will learn how normal children are NOT treated, when they get the meet the Globetrotters backstage and are given basketball lessons.

These kids are going to be a handful when they have to sit in
NORMAL seating areas with the
RIFF RAFF,and don't get the meet the whole cast backstage after the show.

SAHM said...

I'll pass on watching! I wonder if they will show the crowd boo-ing them though???

Marie France said...

I am assuming that the booing will be edited out. Apparently, during filming, when the little G's hit the floor to play around with the Globetrotters, people booed big time as there were a large group of special needs children there attending the game. The G's get special opportunities just because they were a group of six who all were in Kate's clown car belly at the same time. What kind of reasoning is this??? What about the special needs kids? What about disadvantaged kids? What about kids who are abused? Does anybody care about providing opportunities to kids who are REALLY deserving? I would hate to be Mady and Cara on Tuesday morning when they go to school. Their parents are pure evil morons.

The Harlem Globetrotters? They even still exist? Who flippin' cares? This show is now not only one big advertisement, but an advertisement for crap no one cares about. What a total crock of shit.

Now, I dislike this show and the parents for exploiting their children, but the booing was just as bad. Adults should never boo children, no matter what. It is not the sextuplets and twins fault that they get special treatment and that probably made them, especially Mady and Cara, very upset and uncomfortable. They are only kids and that is very cruel behavior, no matter what.

BUT THEY GET EVERYTHING! THE HAYNES ARE BETTER BY FAR! IT WASNT THEIR IDEA TO SHOW THEIR CHILDREN TO THE WORLD! NOW EVERYONE LIKES THEM! :P Please.. Kate just wants to be famous. Like that will happen! Jon has been spending increasing time away from home.. I wonder why!

I know that J/K couldn't possibly know that they would be booed at the Globetrotters game. I'm sure they (J/K) were upset...I would be. HOWEVER, what kind of parents would continue doing the show after something like that? I'm sure the kids were embarassed, upset, confused, or some como of the 3. This is hurting those children and it makes me sick. As the Gosselins get more "red carpet" treatment, and as more people grow tired of it, it's just going to get worse for those kids. These 2 sicken me.

Steph said...

The Gosselin's were given back stage passes to meet the Globetrotters and apparently a number of locals were quite upset that the passes were not offered to the special needs kids who were there. And, I happen to agree with them 1000%. There's something wrong in this world with some people's priorities - apparently fame, notoriety, press mentions, and money is the guiding force rather than need, compassion, and simply being humble and gracious.

I just took the kids to see the Globetrotters last weekend in St. Louis - OMG, it was THE funniest show ever. They picked lots of kids from the audience and I would've loved for one of mine to get picked. My 9 year old son laughed more than I've ever seen him laugh in 2 hours!

My youngest is the same age as the tups and we didn't even take her - the tickets were $50 each and she wouldn't really "get" it anyway.

I'd be irked if I was at the game with them and their kids got to be part of the show.

Hannah said...

Wow people really booed a bunch of kids? I don't like Jon or Kate but these kids did nothing wrong.

Ana said...

They were really booed? Is it online on youtube or something? I bet Katie got her panties in a wad when they did that. I'm sure it was not the kids, it was the fact that the whole family was treated that way. Not everyone is their fan.
When was the actual basketball game that they filmed this at?

Desiree said...

So did people really expect for them to let a bunch of Special Needs kids out on the court? over JK+8 for that matter?

Jennifer D said...

I had no idea the Harlem Globtetrotters were still around. When I was a kid in the 70's I remember seeing them once.

And that brings me to my next point: From a marketing prospective it makes sense that they gave J&K the backstage passes and introduced them on the court. They were getting some publicity that would be shown on one of the most watched cable TV shows.

I have handled PR and Marketing for a nonprofit that helps people with special needs. I agree that from a heart standpoint, they are more deserving. But from a business point, the Globetrotters made the correct decision. It would have been nice if they had offered the perks to both groups, but it may not have been practical.

And now that I know the team is still out there I can honestly say that I will be looking at the Globetrotters schedule to see if I can take my 10 year old to see them.

I agree about adults booing children. However, does anyone else get the sense that King Kon hides behind their kids in public, using them as a shield because they assume people can't or won't say anything negative toward them in front of the children? Just a thought.

I could pretend I'm sad for them but I'm not. I'm sick of these kids getting all these special privileges. It is time their parents start saying no and stop this. They have come to expect this treatment because it is how they have been raised and it is NOT GOING TO LAST! Before long they will be over and no one will care and then they will be saying, "Why can't we just skip to the head of the line?" I think about my OWN kids and all the other kids out there who never have anything like this done for them and I can't feel sorry for the Gosselins. This little incident compared to the millions of dollars of freebies they have absorbed and the countless hours of special trips and treatment is nothing. Maybe the kids will finally say they are tired of this circus. I'll bet at least Mady will. And Cara was just skiing in Utah, so they get plenty of perks. Nope, I can't feel badly for them.

and....

*********
I agree! These 2 leeches are nothing without their kids. They are parasites on them and everything they get it because of them. It is time they protected them and stopped exploiting them and learned to say NO! They can still go on the stupid free trips but how hard is it to say once in a while, "No, we want to let some other kids have a chance to feel special for a change. We want another group of kids to go have this special treatment" and then go sit in the stands like normal people for once or insist the museums, etc, not be shut down for them.

Brielle said...

Can someone please point us in the direction of where to find the evidence that they were booed? For the sake of the kids, I hope this isn't true but some verification would be nice.

Wow - I just had a flashback to during the presidential campaign, when Sarah Palin went to a hockey game and she got booed. I heard she said she was taking a couple of her kids out with her, because no one would boo the kids, but the fans still booed her. Same idea, using kids as a shield -- not good parenting!

Aeris said...

Honestly, I think tomorrow's BIG REVEAL will be the fact that the Gosselins are booed and J&K have to explain it to their kids. "It's come down to this" and "It's been really hard..." could totally relate to the fact that the family has been criticized in public with the kids present. I really think they will show the booing, it will get the sheeple sympathy flowing in buckets. Even regular viewers will be upset seeing the kids go through that. I would be upset, too - the kids are completely innocent.

Still, I don't think it's fair for production to hijack a public event for their own agenda. I hope the special needs kids got backstage passes or something similar. The G's should never have been put on display on the court, if that is how it happened.

Yes Desiree, I would expect for them to let a bunch of Special Needs kids out on the court. What would be wrong with that? The problem is that they special needs children are an embarrassment to some people and they are not cute like the Gosselin children. I am a parent of a special needs child and I live special needs everyday. I would have not been embarrassed to see him out on the court. Special needs children have so many difficulties and to have a moment out on that court to let them experience "being special" in a good way and escape their problems would have not been too much to ask. But the greedy Gosselins, with all their normal children, get full court, special attention everywhere they go. And guess what? IMO they are not cute anymore. That are bratty, whiny and getting used to the perks, just like their parents. And the public keeps rewarding this family. So on and on it goes.

I agree with this on many levels. I work w/Special needs (adults), and they are only "embarrassing" if YOU let yourself CHOOSE to be "Embarrassed." In reality, they are unique individuals, just like we ALL are, and have their good and bad traits, like all of us.
I also agree, and have said before here, that the G kids are NOT that Cute! They are VERy ordinary. And in fact, they do a LOT of whining and screaming and hitting for their age = what is it, almost FIVE years old now? Geez. I couldnt handle that from one of mine for even five minutes; a stop would be put on it, and yes I have seven (no, not eight Kate you win) kids, so Yes I know about handling a number of children!
I dont feel one BIT sorry for them, either. And if these things occasionally "happen" to them (being booed, negative reactions even at their schools) , well they only have their "Parents" to blame.

Hershey said...

I don't know where everyone is getting the booing. A friend was at the game with her kids, saw the Gosselins on the court and says there was no booing that she heard. She said the crowd didn't go wild or anything but, everyone clapped. It wasn't some dramatic thing.

Nancy said...

I don't agree that just "special needs" kids should have been allowed privileges instead of the Gosselins... I think ANY other kids should have gotten the perks instead of the Gosselins!! The G kids have gotten enough royal treatment in their lives already. Let some other kids have some extra fun, whether they are handicapped, multiples, or not!

waiting2seetheend said...

I think that the special needs children should have been the very FIRST to play.
It makes me sick to know that grown adult's would do this.
Now I know why kids in my son's class go out of the way to find things wrong with him to tease. Because PARENTS are seeing other PARENTS allowing there own children to treat other kids with something wrong with them, like they aren't good enough.
SHAME SHAME SHAME

If this is true and they got booed. I feel horrible for the tups, mady and cara. I feel that they will have a long hard road ahead of them. Its a shame that little kids get scrutinized for their parents actions.

EnoughwithRepeats said...

The Gosselins get tons of special treatment and it is sickening. You can tell how greedy they really are.

Why couldn't Jon and Kate told their publicist or whoever got them the backstage passes to meet the Globetrotters that they would like to give those passes to the special needs (or the "average joe") children because it would be the nice thing to do. INSTEAD, they choose to get more freebies without thinking of anyone else and take it all for themselves.

They sicken me.

HiThere said...

I do find the booing of children distasteful, but,on the other hand,it is about time the Kon leeches got a chance to actually hear the distaste that the American public has for them and the fraud they have perpetuated all these years. Surely, the booers were voicing their disgust at the "parents", letting them know,in no uncertain terms, that it is time for the farce to end.
I hope Mady made a huge deal of it and won't let Kon forget it.
What Kon and TLC have wrought is unforgivable.
God help those children- they are going to need it.

Thank you C.P. Mom and BooMe - you took the words out of my mouth (and saved me from going on an angry tirade!).

Regardless of people's feelings for the Gosselins, I think that it is completely disgusting that people would boo them while their children were there. It's one thing if it is just the parents, it is another to boo when the kids are there. Why is it okay to defend the kids left and right on blogs, but completely disgrace young children in public. These people who were yelling were adults right? Adults making young children feel like crap is NOT ok in my book. This has nothing to do with the parents bad choices. I DO NOT think it is funny or applaud anyone who would intentionally try and make these kids feel bad in that public arena, AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY DID. JMO... And before any one starts jumping on me, I am not supporting the Gosselin parents in any way. Adults need to act like adults.

Ava said...

I don't think they were booed b/c of the kids. I think people booed b/c of who the parents are. I'm sure people are tired of them and probably wanted them off the court.
I still would like to see a video of this. It would be good laughing material.

"So did people really expect for them to let a bunch of Special Needs kids out on the court? over JK+8 for that matter?"

Im not quite sure if I am understanding the above question correctly Im not so sure that there is a level of 'expectation'(by the audience at the game) with regards the 'letting a bunch of special needs kids on the court'no more than there is an expectation to 'let the Gosselin kids on the court'. IMO, people purchase tickets to a venue such as a Globe Trotter basketball game with the EXPECTATION that they will be ENTERTAINED as per their knowledge/experience (past and present) of the Globe Trotter basketball team/game. Perhaps that is why select members of the audience felt the need to BOO the introduction of the Gosselin family and the subsequent court time 'preferential treatment'. They paid for the priviledge of watching the Globe Trotters NOT the priviledge of watching a Gosselin family side show ! Which in turn instigates opinions that criticize the blatant preferential treatment awarded the Gosselin family at the game for no other reason than because 'they are the Gosselin family' and what makes this family more qualfied and deserving over any other individual or family that was in attendance that day. The Globe Trotter Venue (as well as, J&K and TLC) should not have been so all assuming that a venue such as a Globe Trotter game was the appropriate time and place to put the Gosselin family parade of preferential on display.

Its A Good Thing said...

Im not watching, I will gladly wait for the recap rather than contribute positively to the Gosselin ratings.

I think the booing is hear-say. Is there a video or any proof out there? I think people are just making things up to make it more dramatic.

I think it was especially wrong to put them on display in Berks County where people saw through their scam sometime ago. I am sure the boos weren't meant for the kids - only Jon and Kate.

Ya know what? I don't care that the KON's were booed! They run all over the country acting like friggin royalty...it's about time they realize how the general population feels about them. The greed and exploitation is so over the top, no wonder people are angry. It's NOT jealousy, people are just so appalled anymore at the free ride for doing NOTHING. Six kids at once? Big whoop...now we have the nut with eight at once. Go away KON.

Tammy H. said...

I kept wondering what they meant in the preview for tonights show; they almost acted as if J&K were splitting or something, especially with the way Jon was so far away on the chair from Kate...I think it's all a PR stunt. I think they are doing this for the people who want KON to get lost and let their kids try and lead a normal life instead of being exploited every time they turn around.

I watched the very 1st 1 hour special they had, the other day and WOW how things have changed!!! They don't look, act or even talk like they used to. I guess money makes some people change. It's just sad how these beautiful tups' will never know what it was like to have a normal childhood. I mean for God's sake, they start school this fall, what now...is TLC and Figure 8 gonna follow them to school.

Kate if you read this, I hope you realize what you have done to your family. You have alienated all the true people who really love your kids all for money..I bet you don't sleep very well. And IF the kids got booed at the game, that should be an eye opener to you, you are doing something wrong and we all know what it is and if you have a brain, you know what it is, too. Let your kids wake up in the mornings without cameras in their faces. You have humilated your kids and husband on national TV and you can never take it back..it will be on DVD forever!!! and your kids will see it.

I really hope the "MORE" part is that you have decided to quit doing the show and are going to quit using your kids and live in your million dollar house (which of course, you complain about) and hopefully we won't see anymore of you.

There was booing - no it was not everyone but it was loud enough to make Kon look around because they weren't being cheered by the mindless masses. She looked pretty disgusted that any of the common folk would actually boo them. We just wanted to show our distaste for Katie Irene and her whole "we deserve it becasue we're special and famaous" attitude.

Lexie said...

I agree that if the kids were booed at the game, it had more to do with their parents than with the kids themselves. However, the kids probably didn't know/understand that and imagine it must have really hurt their feelings.

lifeoriley said...

Re: pegan
I assume that sometimes the G's are offered things and take them. However, many, many times in the past they have ASKED for things. If you do a little research and digging on the internet (archives) you will see that they have put themselves out there asking for donations (sometimes under the guise of a "prayer list"). The point is, they have sometimes been very vague or disingenuous (if not outright dishonest) about their financial situation when telling their story and people may have donated money and items to them under false assumptions.
As to the Harlem Globetrotters/or the venue giving them tickets--I guess that's their perogative--but people are starting to get sick of seeing these people getting preferential treatment--for no real reason except that they have sold their children's private lives to a cable network.
Regarding the booing--of course it was for the parents--the little kids may not have even understood it. There probably was a small amount of booing and mostly polite applause. That's a risk one takes when one goes in front of an audience. I highly doubt J&K will address it at all.
And lastly, most arenas do not allow any unauthorized videotaping of events--so maybe none exists other than the edited TLC version.

Desiree I don't understand your comment. What makes the Gosselin four year olds more appropriate to be on the court than special needs kids. It might be that the special needs kids actually WANTED to be there, and LOVE the game of B-Ball and can actually do a few set-up shots.

I hate to be picky but one thing is really bothering me. In college (I am an early childhood educator) we were always taught to put the child first in everything we do or say, including phrasing. So the children that were at the basketball game would be CHILDREN with special needs instead of the other way around.

Seeing it written the other way around is the visual equivalent of nails on a chalkboard to me.

It is a little thing but it means a lot. thank you.

I too am shocked at how mean Kate has gotten. In watching the older episodes, she has truly transformed into a diva who feels that the world owes her. Why does she have a show, sell pictures of her children, write about them and yet hates when her "fans" approach her in public and doesn't allow her children to interact with the people who are paying her bills.

I cannot believe that Hannie wanted to cut her hair and Kate (and the beautician) REFUSED! Because Leah has the short hair, Alexis has the medium length, and Hannie has the long? Good God, I find that atrocious! If she wants her hair cut, let her get it cut!

DetroitBasketball said...

why won't Kate let Hannah have her hair cut!!! She was saying she wants her hair short and Kate won't let her - so mean and unnecessary and only done because Kate wants it long. My hair is getting to be almost as long as Hannah's and let me tell you, even though she's not the one washing and styling it, she's still the one pushing it out of her face and pulling it out of her clothes and other places it gets stuck. Sorry but that really bugged me, Kate only wants it long for the cute factor. Awesome parenting.

Did I hear Kate say that a few days before the Oprah show that the people from Oprah called and decided to do satellite? ANd Kate made the excuse of flying them out in that cold weather. Maybe finally,Oprah realized that better keep them in Pa. Maybe she is hearing some bad stuff.

That's nice. Do you remember on Oprah how she thanked the family for getting up SO early. And the night before, they go to a basket ball game, and probably had the kids out late the night before.

Oh and all state? Okay Jon.

Wow, could they have gotten in ANY more soundbites about allstate? And the camera panning to their website while Jon's talking about stuff he HAD to look at wasn't intentional at all. Anyone boycotting Gosselin products can cross AllState off of your lists lol.

Ok, so Kate says she is a "helper" not a nanny. But then Jon calls her the "babysitter." I don't know what dictionary they are using, but I call a babysitter a nanny. Katie is such a liar.
She picks through those clothes like they are pennies. THey all cost so much. Greedy woman.

* The darn earring. Leave the thing alone. I'm afraid blood will start gushing out when it rips off.

* Even DH commented on how they were "scheduled" to appear, not "We are going to see" the globetrotters. Their whole life is scheduled for their JOB.

* Oh my word, Jon had to call his Allstate agent and is looking at the website. What a freaking commercial. This whole show is a freaking commercial.

* Kate is hoping to be on What Not To Wear now. And did you see that high five? Crazy, greedy people. But Kate wants to show how "good" she looks now as compaired to her before. Only because she is spending her children's hard earned money and getting free clothes.

Hearing her say how lonely she was with the kids not hovering around her...argh! For "seasons" we've been hearing, "GO PLAY!"

I CHOOSE to put up with this because I like the long hair look. Poor Hannah wants to get hers cut and doesn't even have a say in the matter. How strange of Kate to care so much!

Hannah is the one that gets migraines and has long hair. I recall Kate saying that the reason that she has short hair is because when it was long she got headaches. So it just doesn't make sense that Kate won't cut Hannah's hair. I guess Kate wants Hannah to have migraines.

I missed the technique they used though. I'll have to watch the rerun.

I'm guessing Kate is taking the kids places by herself more in order to show she's not evil and out-of-touch with her kids. Although she did just yell at them for getting their shirts wet at a water table. *rolleyes*

My ,how we've changed!

A few years ago, it was "OMG! OPRAH called! We're going to Oprah!" Aunt Jodi was so excited; Kate said she (Jodi) was talking to herself saying, "Ok, calm down, Jodi, calm down". Now, it's "the "Oprah" show called again....".

A few years ago, J and K "treated" themselves as a Christmas present to new clothes. They shopped on a budget. They shopped together. It was their "couple time". Now, Kate strolls into an upscale shop ("I'm home!"), where she and the clerk proceed to pick out several things which she'll have to go thru at a later time to see what works.

A few years ago, Jon's mom wasn't "involved in the family's/kids' day-to-day life". Now, Jon goes to stay with her because of her foot injury while "her husband" (not "my step-father") was away.

Also, interesting that at least two of the kids said that daddy was "at his mom's"...not "at grandmom's".

I guess "Allstate" is the newest sponsor; they must have paid $$$$$ because they were very PROMINENTLY featured. The "Globetrotter" visit was too much; their VIP seats, Cara on the court, the "meet-and-greet", the free stuff. Sickening. Ok for the special treatment at Disney, Sesame, and stuff that's just for kids. But these kids didn't know who the "Globetrotters" were. Kate said the "Globetrotters" knew who they were.

I was also wondering if maybe the "helper" is a long-lost family member or friend. I wonder if the kids will blurt out her name.

Kate is foolish said...

The helper is a hired nanny that they don't want anyone to know how much she does.

First, I'm curious how anybody knows that the Gosselins were aware that there were children with special needs present. Second, while I think it would have been great to have those kids get to play, I'm sure there were a ton of kids at the game and just because not every child got to go on the court does not mean they were being treated as if there were something wrong with them.

The Globetrotter thing was over the top. Courtside seats, the meet-and-greet, the freebies, etc. were a bit much. Stuff the ordinary folks out there don't have a prayer for.

I figured the season-ending cliff-hanger wouldn't be anything like TLC has been painting it for the past few weeks. Jon is unhappy that he can't be Jon, he's stuck being J&K+8. The fame (and money) has its price. Awwww, my heart bleeds. I wish I could have heard what he wanted to say. Kate talked over him as usual.

I don't know what people think that the relatives could do to change anything. Kate has shut them out of their lives. If they would come out and say anything, it would come off as sour grapes. My brother married a woman like Kate and she has alienated us. Everything has to be her way, nothing happens without her approval and anything that goes wrong is everybody else's fault. My brother is reduced to making excuses for her behavior. We don't get to see our nephews. It hurts but you have to move on. I think likewise for Kate's relatives.

Snark said...

I may be wrong, but last year didn't Kate make the excuse that Hannah was the only one with long hair because she (Hannah) wouldn't "allow" Kate to cut it? Now suddenly, it's Kate that won't let it be cut.

Yet another inconsistency from the land of Kate.

I actually watched tonight. Interesting how the kids don't call Jon's mother Grandma. I believe he said the "nanny" is Vietnamese when he spoke at Penn State. She probably doesn't speak English, which probably was a requirement. That weekend at PSU was when he went out to the bars with the college girls, while "taking care" of his mother.

At the risk of appearing stupid, what does "DH" mean?

Its funny how Hate looked so happy with her "job". Jon looked like a teenager who got grounded.

Jane said...

What a farce this show has become. Eight children, forced to dress in matching outfits for public appearances, two parents growing ever more distant from each other, more orange spray on tan than even George Harrison ever dreamed of, and Kate shopping like there's no economic melt-down in the rest of the country. For her, it's all good -- this is the "best job" she's ever had! Shopping galore! Free trips around the country! A husband who has to stay at home so she can jet off whenever she needs to. Of course she loves it, it's all about what Kate wants.

a) Takes the kids to paint canvasses and selects the colors they can use to paint with, so it will suit her decorating style at home.

b) Won't let Hannah get her hair cut, for reasons unclear. However, she forces Cara to get her hair cut shorter than Cara wants, because it's falling in Cara's eyes. ?????

c) Apparently thinks of her children like raw milk, that must be cultured. What was the exact wording she used? "We try to culture our kids" or "We believe in culturing our kids" She mangles the English language in quite a remarkable fashion!

Rolled my eyes at the stiletto heels she wore to the touch museum. Great active wear Kate, perfect for a day spent with your kids on the go!

And what the heck does Jon mean, when he says his mom's husband "went away"? The wording was so strange. Did his mom's husband up and leave her? He never specifically says that his step-dad was away on a trip, only that he "went away." So odd.

Kate only tolerates Jon because if he and she separated/divorced, the show would suffer a ratings hit. He's also handy because she insists he does not work outside the home, and he kowtows to her in that regard. But it's clear he is unhappy, and it's equally clear that she couldn't give a dam* that he is unhappy.

Season 5 is coming, whether he likes it or not. Because it is, and always has been, all about what Kate wants. She wanted children right away when they got married (and maybe was hoping for multiples) and they got fertility treatments and the twins. She wanted to try again when he was content with being a family of 4, and voila! They had fertility treatments and ended up with the sextuplets.

She wanted matchy-matchy and not hand me downs from generous church goers, and she got it. She wanted a tv show and plenty of perks, and she got it. She wanted helpers to do the grunt work involved in motherhood, and she's gotten that. She wanted to be an oompa loompa color, and by God, she's got that!

It's all about Kate, and my goodness, she's incredibly boring! See Kate talk. See Jon sit next to Kate quietly. See Kate tug her earring. See Kate giggle at the camera man! See Jon's eyes glaze over as he contemplates his dreary future. See Kate pretend she doesn't have a nanny, just a "helper" who works "various hours." Err, whatever Kate.

See Kate say goodbye to the kids. See the kids try to muster up any interest. (Even they are bored with this show.) See Kate shop. See Kate clip clop in her Mahnalo Blanik's. See Kate imagine she is an important person, with an important job! See Kate feel frustrated when Oprah doesn't want her and the brood on her set! Really Oprah, it would have been much easier for Kate if you would just spring for the first class airfare, hotel, and other perks. Didn't you get the memo? It's all about what Kate wants!! Oprah must be made to understand!

See the kids talk. Try to understand what they are saying. Wish the producers would put captioning to help us understand what these nearly five year olds are saying. See them play by themselves in the basement.

Ooooh, but guess who we don't see much of this time? That's right, problem child Mady. She of the bad teeth and attitude. See Cara get called onto the court. See Mady ignored. See Mady ignored in the locker room at half time. You turned away from the screen for a split second? Oh well, then you didn't see much of Mady.

Back to Kate, yammering on again!

Hi all-

I was directed to this site by a friend. I will admit the KON marathon got me hooked last May when I was layed. But I was pretty much disgusted by the whole thing by the 4th of July NC episodes. Kate voice just irks the crap out of me along with her awful parenting skills.

So I watched tonight not by choice and I can not reclaim the 30 minutes it sucked out of my life but oh well life goes on.

First off the "helping" my mom excuse from Jon, hmmmm I broke my foot on vacation in TN over Thanksgiving, and when I finally made it back home I spent 4 very long days until I could see a sports med doc and get one of those foot boots. Now I do not have animals to take care of but I think Jon was looking for any excuse to get out of the house. I do not blame him there but maybe it would have been nice to take some of the children with him to spend time with their grandmother and have some special time with daddy.

I like the new "word" of the night, striped (yeah I can not spell Keights language) when she was talking about going and "buying" new clothes for Oprah show.

Now I do admit the children looked happier tonight, esp while Keight was out shopping!!!! And they admited to having a "babysitter" to help with the children and she will not appear on TV due to her "request" (meaning she is more than likely making $10 an hour and Keight does not want her to demand a bigger salary from TLC.)

I did not like the fact that she would not allow Hannah to get her hair cut shorter, I had headaches as a child and my parents were advised to cut my hair (mine was a little shorter than Hannah's) and you know what the headaches were few and far between. Keight is a nurse right??? This is basic headache's 101, maybe she was absent that semester in nursing school. I sometimes question her lack of medical knowledge and think instead of being an RN that she maybe was an LPN or something. My roommate thru most of college was a nursing student and you really need to be sharp to get thru school and the learning does not end once you get your degree you have to actually continue to take classes to keep your license. But you know all of that takes work and it is just so much more fun to go "shopping" for free.... I have read so many of the postings on this blog and my heart goes out to everyone who is struggling I myself was laid off in Dec, and it sucks and is a struggle I also have cancer so it sucks at time, and I admit my parents are paying for my health insurance to avoid me going onto public assistance. My prayers are with all of you during this trying time, my heart broke for the couple who worked for DHL and had to relocate to stay with family. I can not remember your screenname but I think of you and your family often.

Well all in all I still not a fan of these "parents" but it was nice to watch an episode that none of the children were yelled at. But with the wonderful world of editing who really knows what the truth is. Oh and I so love the "wedding" DVD pic that was a nice laugh this afternoon.

I too noticed the Allstate "advertisement". Could that have been any more out of place and obvious product placement? Now we know who does their insurance.

You HAVE to understand something about Allstate. It's a hand-in-hand sponsorship TLC is *very* familiar w/. Rival State Farm sponsors 'My First House'; the show that follows people who buy their first house. It use to be an enjoyable show. BUT, this season they've added this *sickeningly* obvious State Farm Insurance plug after the home owners buy the house in the final segment. They're shown going into their local office w/ a nice steady still shot of the logo on the outside. When in the office, the computer monitor displays logo and the agent says we can get you hooked up w/ X amount of coverage than our competitors. That COMMERCIAL alone ruins the entire series because it's just soooo unncessary. The Roloffs ('Little People, Big World') have their Mountain Dew and Ragu is encouraging us to "meet the Hayes family" ('Table For 12'). You'd half expect during all the chaos, one of the kids to knock off a jar and have it explode on the kitchen floor! It's all just so phony.

Dear Hannah,

If you ever find your way to this message board (or maybe Mady will and she can tell you about it), just grab a pair of scissors. Go ahead honey. Take a big ole snip from one of the sides of your hair. Make sure you get a nice thick chunk. That way mommy will have to get your hair cut short to fix it. And you can cut it as short as you want too sweetie!

Or, if mommy still didn't teach you how to use scissors, you can always tug on your ear during one of the tapings and that way we will know you read this and that you want someone to drive by the front lawn and throw some gum your way. Gum in the hair, if done correctly, will definately warrant a new haircut!

Your Friend,

Anonymomma

Was I joking? No, not really. It was just an observation. It's obvious that Kate doesn't promote individuality in her children. Mady and Cara have different hair lenghs too; as for the boys, Aaden wears glasses so it's easy to set him apart from the other two boys.

Exactly. They claim to care about "cancer kids" so this could be made into a show. Oh wait, now that Kate made a production of it, it most likely WILL be made into a show! Just watch.

As for the nanny who really is a nanny, Kate said they also didn't want her known for obvious reasons. The obvious reasons being that if people know who their nanny is, they will grill her for inside info. Can't have that now, can we? I'm sure when she said the nanny didn't want to be known it was just another lie.

"What kind of sick person votes on which four year old made the best painting". (Kristin said) Umm the kind of person that has no interest in having any type of cohesion between her children? The kind of person who also holds up food for 8 hungry children and says who wants their plate first. The kind of person that plays favorites, the kind of person that sets up her children for failure on national telvision because in her mind she thinks that the more badly behaved her children are, the more the general public will buy into the fact that she has SUCH a tough job. not. She has set those children up for failure, and she's under the impression that she's Americas favorite Mom, or whatever. What she doesn't get is that people are on to her she is making a fool of herself, damaging her children, husband and marriage. She tries to stir those children up with this idiocy, i believe,... either that or she really must be heartless or dumb as dirt.

So much for the big "cliff-hanger" ...

1. Jon definitely got busted. It was tough to watch him grovel during the interview.

He needs to find a really good psychologist and stick with the therapy until he understands why he's allowed himself to get to the place he's at, which by his own admission he doesn't like. Unfortunately, Kate would never allow it, and Jon doesn't have the backbone to insist on it or the fortitude to see it through.

2. According to Kate, it's the couch that forces them to sit in crazy ways during the interview sessions. Nice try, Kate. However, it wouldn't matter where those two sat because the tension and lack of love would still jump right out.

3. Did anyone else notice during the confessional that Jon admitted that neither he nor Kate wants to be at home? Yikes. Those poor kids!

4. Kate says she's happy. Jon obviously isn't. Kate couldn't care less.

I haven't seen the episode yet, but I can't believe Hannah isn't allowed to get her hair cut. Didn't Kate say in an earlier episode that Hannah refuses to cut her hair? Just another lie I guess.

And if it IS true that the Gosselins got "boo-ed" I don't feel sorry for them in the least. That's a chance you take when you put your life on television, some people will like you, others won't. IMO, it's all Kon's fault if the kids get boo-ed anyway because they're the ones who put them out there. If they were regular people who paid for their tickets and brought their kids it wouldn't have happened.

I think it's totally unfair to other kids who go to the same events the Gosselins go to anyway. How many average kids who only get occasional outings would have loved to meet the Sesame Street characters after seeing Sesame Street Live for example?

The advertising during these shows is sickening. The Roloffs also had several long computer shots of Home Depot during their remodel. I will never go to Allstate, guaranteed!

Obviously, Jon & Kate are now suddenly so concerned with their privacy! A few years back they would have disclosed the identity of anyone or anything to get the show going. I get the feeling they are scared of people seeing the full extent of their reality, such as we never see a full shot of the house (Kon don't want us to actually see the house they "deserve"). However, when it comes to protecting the kids, I am glad they are making these changes. I just wish they had these concerns years ago before the damage was done to their family.

3/22/2009 8:04 PM>>>>>>>

Desiree I don't understand your comment. What makes the Gosselin four year olds more appropriate to be on the court than special needs kids. It might be that the special needs kids actually WANTED to be there, and LOVE the game of B-Ball and can actually do a few set-up shots.

3/23/2009

... THEY DIDN'T CHOOSE THE SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS BECAUSE PARENTS WHO WATCH KON WILL WANT TO TAKE THEIR KIDS TO THE HARLEM GLOBE TROTTERS SHOW WHEREAS IF THEY CHOSE SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS THEY WOULD NOT GET TV PUBLICITY. SAD THAT THE GLOBETROTTERS ARE USING THE GOSSLINS FOR FREE ADVERTISING BUT BUSINESS IS BUSINESS.

PS - THEY WERE NOT BOO'D AT THE GAME BUT THE CROWD DIDN'T GIVE A CRAP ABOUT THEM EITHER.

I have a niece who is not yet 2 1/2 years old. She has much better verbal skills and hand-eye coordination than the six nearly 5 year old babies on this show.

It's amazing how much development a child can gain from necessary one-on-one adult interaction. The twins have basically raised these children and we certainly cannot blame them for being non-suitable examples.

I watched in saddness as Jon was obviously close to tears as he discribed his feeling about being under a microscope all the time. It was heart breaking to watch him try to speak and have kate interupt him everytime she became obviously uncomfortable with this opinion. This family is about as disfunctional as you could get. My opinion has gone from disgust to pity.

Hi! I read this site everyday and I love it! I have a question that maybe someone can help me with. Last night they showed the Gosselins went to the Harlem Globetrotters and they had Oprah the next morning. Did Jon have to leave again that morning for his mom's? Why wasn't he on Oprah? Did he just come back for a short visit? I just shake my head with this show now and think how money ruined this family.

When will the insanity that is the KON train wreck ever end??

The perks, the freebies, the begging.
Enough already!

My thoughts on this episode:

Kate harps on the coupon thing. She harps on Jon not using coupons. Where were Kate's coupons when she went clothes shopping for herself and the kids?? Oh, wait-my bad! Don't need coupons when it is free! And if the stores don't have what you want-boohoo! It's FREE! Kwityer-itchin, already! I guess Jon didn't need anything new to wear-was he at his mom's? Did he just meet his family at the game? They used to show donkey Jon getting everything loaded up into the van.

The insurance-most likely, that is another freebie. Boring to see, though!

I used to like this show. I admit I watch the new episodes just to see what happens. I liked the older episodes better-before the train wreck! Put an end to it!

Why doesn't Kate take the girls to her hair salon? The boy's should go to the barber. A hair salon usually know the latest hair styles and do a better job styling girl's hair. Hannah's hair should be cut and donated to Locks of Love. She could alway's let it grow back, if she doesn't like it short. And if Kate goes on "What not to Wear" I'll stop watching that show too. Stacey & Clinton don't do it, she'll screw up your show too!

Wouldn't it be nice to shop and not have to pay? No wonder Kate is so happy.

All I can say is damage control. That bad, bad couch---making them sit apart from each other. That has to be the lamest excuse I have ever heard! Will we get to see them couch shopping? Why a new set if the evil couch is the problem?

Hey Jon, you sold your privacy. I think he got a taste of what happens when you let your guard down when you are a public personality. If you are having issues, think about your kids and their issues.

It's clear that this blog is read by TLC. So they blame the couch for their body language; they are providing "culture" for their kids by taking them places so they can raise their IQ; Kate has changed from dowdy to a fashionista and wants to do a clip show (I'll show the trolls who call me orange!); and we must let everyone know what a good son Jon is by helping his mom with her broken foot (doesn't Jon have a brother that lives near her?) and that's why he was away so we know that he and Kate are not separated (he acted like they were separated).

Um let me ask you, if you see children or young adults in wheelchairs, would that not tell you they are children with special needs??
No, not every child would get to go out on the court but it sure would have been nice to see the greedy ones allow someone more deserving to get attention. But of course Kate wouldn't let THAT happen.

(1) Kate's posture on the couch is due to the couch and not her relationship with Jon; (2) Oh, yes...we do have a babysitter BUT CERTAINLY NOT a nanny; (3) Oh look, Kate is actually spending quality(??) time with her children; (4) Jon was with his mother and he was attacked by college girls because he is "Jon from J&K + 8....please. (Can any of us stomach the fact that someone is complaining that they are recognized after signing their children up for 4 seasons of t his nonsense??)
I am so upset that TLC allows this to continue.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but what was with Jon's bit about State Farm or Allstate Insurance? It was so awkward and obvious. Their product placement has become just ridiculous. It reminded me of those old shows from the 1950's, where the star, like George Burns or Jack Benny for example, would go directly from the storyline to the commercial, with no clear delineation point. I stopped watching this show about a year ago because I can't stomach Jon or Kate, especially Kate, but watched last night to see what the big "reveal" was. This show has become so completely boring! Watching them shop for dresses? Good grief, it's like watching paint dry. Who actually enjoys watching this stuff? So I sat through an hour, waiting for the big revelation at the end, only to hear Kate talking over and interrupting Jon, who appeared to be fighting tears. Do you think it might occur to either of them that if Jon is feeling this way, the children might have similar feelings? I hope Jon persuades Kate to give the show up, but it's doubtful. It seems that Kate has absolute veto power and everybody else's desires and needs are inconsequential to her.

Some thoughts from DaGumby,

A drinking game idea was mentioned to K's ummms. We tried this in my home to every time K mentioned she was tired. We had to stop this due to fears of alcohol poisoning, liver damage and the wicked Tuesday hang overs.

Jennifer D mentions how can K be happy while J is so Miserable.
I can only think of 2 words, narcissism and egotism. 2 factors that K has in spades..

As for All State. Folks who want to move should look into USAA. It was started by some guys in the military years ago and only took Officers for the longest. But I hear now they take just about anyone and they are really great. They all so have banking, loan dept , and many other services..

BobS spoke of his sis in law. I feel your pain, I too have one like that. She even called me one year after Christmas to know where to park so she did not have to walk to far to get the "cash" back for the gifts I gave her family. She is K's older sister down to the size, short hair, build,OCD, only this piece of work is minus the fake tan..

Real Mom
I agree too ,they or someone sure does seem to be reading the blogs. If so , GET RID OF THOSE DOGS before a kid is hurt..

Former Fan spoke of the Roloff's
My DH watched TLC, Sports must have suc.ked on tv last night. Anyway he spoke of how much more he admires what he sees the Roloffs trying to do for and too their kids verses what he sees on J&K. Sure he does not think everything they do is great. But he loved how they went out and helped ppl hurt from Katrina. Then when K was on and I kept with the mummer of things about her , DH said, if you are trying to convince me she is a bi*** you are wasting your breath. I did not have the heart to tell him it was not about convincing him of anything. This is just want she brings out in me. With that whole shopping things and "I am the happiest I have ever been". While J sits there looking like his dog has died..

Ok time for my blood pressure meds

Did she pay for the clothes for

"I cannot believe that Hannie wanted to cut her hair and Kate (and the beautician) REFUSED! Because Leah has the short hair, Alexis has the medium length, and Hannie has the long"
___________________________________

I don't believe it's so Kate can tell the girls apart (even I believe she can tell her children apart, ESPECIALLY the girls!). It is so VIEWERS can tell them apart. I would put money on it. The boys all have distinctly different facial features. Although Hannah looks unique, Leah and Alexis have very similar features. Therefore, the hair length is a quick way to distinguish them from each other.

Another situation where "what's good for the show" trumps what's good for the kids, or what the kids want. Too bad for you, Hannah. TLC is paying your mommy and daddy LOTS of money to leave your hair long, and it's gonna stay that way!

Mommy in PA said...

Did you hear Kate saying she made Cara get a haircut because her hair was always in her face & covering her eyes? HELLOOO Katie Irene!! Have you noticed the strip of hair that is always hanging in your right eye??

And just why won't you let Hannah get a haircut? She's old enough to express herself about it, and it's not like she asked for a mohawk or something inappropriate!

Lisbeth said...

Let's just say, Kate has issues.

But honestly, I am very concerned about the kids. The show SHOULD do more to protect the kids and not have them on as much. They want to make the show more about Kate and Jon? What a relief! Not that I am fascinated by the couple but at least the kids are less exploited.

My theory is that Mady has never liked being filmed and there has been attempts to respect that (old show, Mady is mad after school and runs into her parents bedroom). Cara, she is silent. Her own tactic to keep filming to a minimum. The younger kids, well, they haven't figured out how to establish those boundaries yet.

Neither parent seems to enjoy just playing with the kids. How about getting on the floor and building a town out of blocks and old boxes? A fort out of blankets and pillows?

The kids are expected to perform publicly and then their parents comment on their behavior to the world. That is just messed up. Jon needs to step up to the plate and do something about it. And if it makes the show more about the adults, I am all for it. My main concern is protecting the kids right to grow up, stumble, learn and develop privately, not on our tv screens for America's entertainment.

I have a sneaking suspicion that John and Kate are either doing season five but are not going to do the interviewing part anymore (this way they can be separated/divorced without anyone catching on)or are just going to freshen up their show's entire look starting with the show's introduction. The old introduction shows the old house and they are in a new one now so it would make sense. Plus I bet if they still do the interviews then there will be some fancy high wing backed chairs or something. Let's face it, the old couch is not fancy enough for Kate's newly found fashion.
I think TLC is trying out a new show "Table For Twelve" to see if it succeeds enough to replace Jon and Kate's show. I think that is why we got the "maybe we will, Maybe we won't do season five" from Jon and Kate. TLC is probably putting them on the back burner for now due to the bad feedback from viewers like us.
Kate will be fine no matter what happens. She is famous enough now that she will land herself a new rich famous husband. I guarantee her life style which she has become accustomed to and cherishes deeply will not be affected by all of this. She knows it too!
It was funny that she wouldn't let Hannah get her hair cut, but MADE Cara get her hair cut because it was in her face. Hannah seems to push her hair out of her face a lot. I felt sorry for Cara. She seemed like she wanted to have long hair.
Why was Kate shopping for clothing for the kids and herself for the recent Oprah invite? Did Gap not supply any? And I was surprised to see the two clothing stored she did shop in where not plugged? Did they not offer her any free clothing? What was her favorite store anyway? Anyone know what store that was?

Wow last night's episodes were very odd/interesting!

First.... i was disgusting by Kate not allowing Hannah to cut her hair! Come on now... i could see if Hannah wanted to shave her head or some ridiculous cut, but the child just wants some of that weight taken off her hair! Shame on you Kate.

Second..... it was VERY odd that the tups do not refer to Jon's mom as grandma, or any other affectionate (NORMAL) name for a grandmother! How WIERD is that????? I guess I always assumed she was somewhere in their life, just chose not to be part of the camera life.

Third... if those kids really did get booed at the Globtrotters, then that is aweful. But I'm not sure that this is true as everyone on here keeps asking for the story to be verified. It is NEVER ok for an adult to boo a child. I get booing KON... haha how hilarious would it have been if Kate was out on the court and got booed? Now, that would be priceless.

Oh, and lastly, I love Kate's little shopping spree at Ann Taylor's Loft. Scream at your husband for not using a coupon on a shower head, but by all means, dress yourself in head to toe Ann Taylor.

Oh, haha not done.... could this woman wear any more ridiculous outfits on her "outings" with the kids????? I just want to rip her sunglasses off the top of her head sometimes.

Shari said...

1. The NANNY cannot be shown at the risk of having to offer to pay her for her appearances. (ie; Aunt Jodi)

2. The Biggest Loser does that same kind of 'bad-acting-skit' advertising about gum, frozen vegetables, you name it. I fast forward through that garbage every time. ps. I will never buy a pack of that gum (I refuse to name) no matter how friggin huge I get for that very reason.

3. Any Christian wife who has ever read the book of Ephesians knows what the husband's role in the marriage is. Makes Kate that much more of a hypocrite.

4. Someone needs to remind Kate of her own motto: "You get what you get and you don't get upset." We've all heard the children recite this like little robots but as we all know, house rules don't apply to 'the Queen.'

5. Speaking of which, what do you want to bet that the 'new set' includes a throne for 'her highness' and a jokers hat for her sidekick?

6. Finally, for as much as they say they never read any 'bad press' about themselves, I'm not buying that either. Someone as narcissistic as Kate can't help herself for good or for bad. So keep up the great work on this site! She's hanging on our EVERY word ;)

Iwasthere said...

Kon - I mean Fancy Nancy - yes there was booing of the gosselins and although it was not the whole crowd it was noticable. Why do you think they didn't show the YMCA clip?????

We know they read the blog. Note the date so that we can document it.

WTF???? I've sat on a lot of chairs/couches & love/hate seats and never once have they caused me to look bad or make my clothes look like crap.

This episode was nothing but damage control at it's worst. And what do they mean they're taking a break. They're already filming season 5.

Did they go to Philly to see the Globetrotters? Well, you know the Philly fans boo everyone. They threw snowballs at Santa Claus. Just saying.. I'm from the suburbs of Philly so I know how the fans on this side of the state can get.

Anyway, if there was boo-ing I'm sure it was not towards the kids but the parents.

Nannyless Mom said...

I remember reading somewhere that the nanny was from another country. I wondered then why they couldn't find anyone in their own local area to take care of the children, but I figured if you get someone from another country who a) doesn't speak English, and b) needs to stay in your good graces or lose their work visa, you'd be just the right fit for Kate's needs.

Former Fan said...

I found a few things interesting in the episode I'll call "Damage Control"

1-Kate Shopping: Does anyone recall a few seasons ago when Jon and Kate treated eachother to a shopping trip and she needed Jon to pick everything out for her because "She hates shopping" and doesn't know what looks good together. Now all of a sudden she gets personal shoppers at Ann Taylor and Loves it? She's so phony it's ridiculous. Secondly-Why didnt' she take any of the kids with her? If Mady and Cara give her such a hard time about the clothes she picks out, why doesn't she just take them along and have a "girls day." I know I would.

2-Jon all of a sudden caring about a women who had nothing to do with them for the past 4 years. Really? I don't buy it. I think he got kicked out of his house and had no where else to go. Probably for spending $50 on something, or not using a coupon

3-The Allstate plug was ridiculously obvious

4-If she goes on What Not TO Wear-I'll have to boycott my favorite lady, Stacy London

5-I noticed Mady is hardly ever on camera anymore, is it because the public doesn't like her (because she's a brat like her mommy?) I also noticed Colin really isn't either. It's all about Cara and Hanna

which brings me to

6-Why all of a sudden the focus on Cara? For 4 seasons she was virtually ignored. She definitely the most likable of all the kids, but they're really laying it on thick with her.

I think that's all I've noticed.

brooke said...

I do think cara should have been able to keep her hair as she likes and not have it cut but I think kate didn't let hannah get her hair cut because she's never had it cut and I honestly think if she did she would cry a awful lot when she saw it was not there anymore.

The globtrotters asked any of the kids if they wanted to go out on the court and cara agreed to do it, which i think is awesome she came out of her shell, same in the locker room leah was the only kid who wanted to twirl the ball and they were asked repeatedly. And the YMCA part there were a lot of kids out there doing it not just the gosselins. And I heard no booing, and it's a pretty long show how does anyone know cara was the only kid who got to go on the court usally they let a couple of kids go.

And I don't feel like mady's being ignored maybe she doesn't want to be in the spotlight any i remember in previous episodes and trips when cara wasn't even showed or heard of so these past few ones of her enjoying herself having fun have been great to watch.

Kayla said...

If anyone deserves to be booed, its Kate, not the kids. And they took Cara out but they didn't take out and of the special needs kids! That's just rude. You can tell Kate is only still on the show for the fame and the fortune!

ArmyWife said...

The tups are losing the "cute" factor. Only a couple of them are still really cute. The Table for 12 kids are all much cuter and the parents are much more relatable. However, you can rest assured that there will be a season 5 - it's already being filmed and Kon has a contract.

Let's face it, K is only famous in a limited way. Once the show goes away so does the "fame". She is a "d lister" at best. She will not land a "rich" husband should they divorce because who wants to be saddled with someone elses 8 kids? When the show goes so goes the gravy train.

I've also got USAA and it is the best. However, as someone else mentioned it's only open to military & their dependents and vets.

I'm so glad I was not the only one who was stunned to hear Kate talk about "culturing" your kid. I even grabbed a pen and wrote it down when she repeated it. Dear Lord.

The pr (that's public relations, Jon, in case you are reading this) went on forever with the Globetrotters. It reminded me of when the kids went to a professional baseball game and everyone brought their kids in to the private box so they could be on TV. I understand it, but hey, no one cares about your kids except you. Sorry if I sound mean.

The guest on "What Not to Wear" is given a $5,000 credit card to use. Kate would surely be the most non-deserving guest ever. Dear Lord. She would probably demand $10,000 because she is so special - and exhausted.
