Show Biz: Jon + Kate + 8 = $$$

As mentioned in this blog entry, here is the article. Many sincere thanks to those of you who assisted with the article by agreeing to provide Jessica with information.

Philadelphia Magazine, March 2009
Show Biz: Jon + Kate + 8 = $$$
By Jessica Remo

IT'S A CHILLY Saturday at the First Assembly of God church in upstate Marcy, New York, but the commotion seems more like Christmas morning. And from the looks of it, the turnout is better. Jon and Kate Gosselin, the darlings of Jon & Kate Plus 8 — the TLC reality show chronicling their lives raising a set of twins and sextuplets — aren’t scheduled to appear for another hour, but the parking lot is already packed.

The crowd is more than 500 strong: silver-haired matrons, stroller-pushing moms, college girls in sweatshirts, kids in tees emblazoned with photos of the Gosselins, the occasional unlucky boyfriend or husband, dragging his feet like it’s the first day of school. Many have traveled for hours, paying $10 to snap a fuzzy picture, get an autograph, and adore America’s Favorite Parents in person; many will buy up Jon and Kate’s best-selling book, Multiple Blessings: Surviving to Thriving With Twins and Sextuplets, from an impromptu Barnes & Noble kiosk.

Wow, this just sums it all up. If it's true about Jane saying he'll never have to work again, then he deserves to have lost his job. These poor kids have been used since day 1!

Thanks for posting this article, I'm going to print it off for my sister who doesn't have the net. Even people that don't have the internet such as my sister and her co-workers are starting to notice that something is amiss with the Gosselins. They were angered to learn the rest of the details.
I'm glad this article puts out that Jon was not fired for the purpose that Kate and him use when begging. Bragging that he will never have to work again because they were pregnant with sextuplets is disgusting. I despise people that use religion and children to get rich. Thanks for the article.

Wow! That was beautifully written. Perfect history of what has happened with this family over the years. A very accurate depiction of how former fans are now bolgging and calling for this show to come to an end! It makes me so sad for the children! I hope that Jon and Kate change while there is still time to reverse some of the damage done to these little ones.

Nice mention of GWOP!

I completely agree. My first thought was "how are the sheeple going to refute this?" I wonder if the reporter tried to contact either of Kon's parents?

The whole Jon saying he would never have to work again is the part that really chapped my hide! Its obvious thats what they were thinking. UGHHHH these people dont deserve these sweet children.

Ok, Sheeple, Now What ? said...

Of course Jon said that he'd never have to work again !

Did he ever really work ?

He's said in more than one episode that when he met Kate he "wasn't doing much of anything....I didn't want to get married or have kids...I had just backpacked across Europe"....

You can't change what you don't acknowledge.

Lazy = Lazy.

Excellent article ! Worthy of reprint in Time Magazine !

I just finished reading this article.I was pleased to see that one of Jon's former bosses was quoted. The poor guy has really been getting the s****y end of the stick from Jon and Kate and their many fans. I'm glad the poor guy finally got an opportunity to defend himself. Gee, I wonder why J & K (through TLC) chose not to respond to the article. Hmmmmm.

Great job, Jessica!

Thanks for all your hard work.

Wow! This article was worth the wait! Am anxiously awaiting how the sheeple will defend this eloquent, chronologically sound article from a reputable publication. I'm sure they will chalk it up that the writer is just "out to get J&K" or some other nonsense that only sheeple can think up. I find it so interesting that they had Jenny sign a confidentiality agreement... probably to try and save themselves from another Jodi situation.

I am so glad Jon's former boss has come out on record for the real reason he was fired. Spin that one PR folks!

Great article, Jessica!

I loved the "photo/illustration" by gluekit that is attached to the article. It looks like the only girl tup in the picture is Hannah (long hair) copied and pasted in three times. Oh, and Jane and Keight peeking out from behind the curtains backstage - priceless.

It really bothers me that Jon is referred to as an "IT guy." I have a nephew who is several years younger than Jon, who has two degrees and advanced certifications that is an "IT guy." Someone mentioned that in Multiple Blessings, Kate talks about Jon learning the Microsoft Office software. That is NOT being an IT guy who is responsible for entire networks. It is a high school graduate typing up an Excel spreadsheet.

Mostly a Lurker said...

I've never posted before but after reading that article all I can say is "wow!" That is the most honest, balanced-sounding article I have read about the Gosselins. I had a feeling Jon was fired for other reasons. I really hope other former friends speak out. If Jon and Kate want the perks for airing their family business they should expect the pitfalls too.

timetogokon said...

While it's always a good thing when articles such as this are written, I thought it was ok, not great. The general tone of the article is accurate, but there are not enough specific examples to really make a difference in how sheeple/fans will view the Greedy G's.

Just checked that "other" site and no surprises; the sheeple don't find anything new in the article and are questioning the credentials of reporter Jessica. A quick google search told me that besides being a reporter, she is Assistant Managing Editor of Phila. Magazine. I used to live in Philadelphia and always found the magazine informative and entertaining; don't know circulation figures, but I do know it's popular, too.

Beejcctx said...

Actually I wish she had not pointed out GWOP - the sheeple will just gloss over and say "WE" wrote it. I can hope those who are curious will come by and see what we've been saying for so long.

the other judy said...

Awesome article! I have one question though. Who is the "babysitter" that is quoted at the end? Beth? Joan? Janet? Jodi? Anyone know?

konGOaway said...

If the laws in California prevent this type of exploitation of children, perhaps everyone's efforts should be to have the laws changed nationally and maybe Paul Peterson can help direct us. Reality TV is fairly new and has focused mostly on adults BUT since the Gosselins have made child exploitation a new career of choice, NEW LAWS ARE NEEDED. Giving away $6000 worth of washers and dryers gives sponsors national advertisiing but what legislators wouldn't want to get behind a national campaign protecting children during a bid for re-election?

lalaland said...

I'm glad the article came out, but I am disappointed that it's not a national publication and that the only person willing to go on the record was Jon's former boss.

jonandkatewho? said...

That was a good article. Now if the mainstreams would just pick it up, lol.

These two disgust me. To hear that Jon said that about not ever having to work again makes me sick to my stomach.

I hope to God they are not allowed to adopt a child. I have a bad sick feeling this season will show them perhaps going to a foreign country (Korea?) and adopting a child. TLC has gone way overboard, and at that point I really don't see how supporters of this show can continue to support it. People can be so stupid.

Those poor kids. I wish that state would try to get some laws in place to help them.

Tess H. said...

Jody Clark from the Ohio Child Conservation League also went on the record.

So there were 2 courageous people so far. Maybe more (that aren't bound by confidentiality agreements) will step forward.

Travis Noodle said...

Additional thoughts...

After reading about how Jon was coordinating the beg-a-thon from work, it made me wonder if Jon was actually this master-mind for pimping his kids. In the end, both Jon and Kate are responsible for the Gosselin gravy-train.

It's also nice to know the truth about Jon's job termination. It was not because of the benefits.

Once again, Thanks Jessica.

(Through TLC’s publicist, the Gosselins refused repeated requests from Philadelphia magazine for an interview for this story.)

I find that the most ironic display of proof of the validity of the story considering how they clearly take every chance to be filmed or promote themselves. If somebody was making accusations and writing a article about me, I certainly would grasp every opportunity to refute the 'inaccurate' information, especially if a publicist was doing the dirty work. Maybe if they ignore it, it will go away.

Fantastic article! I am so glad that the former employer was finally allowed to be on the record about what happened.

Kate is still telling that song and dance at her signings and someone mentioned (since I did not read it) that it is in the book too.

Carla is not a babysitter, Carla is their housekeeper/gardener/organizer.

Shes been a paid Gosselin employee for years now.

Jen K said...

The babysitter at the end...for some reason I think it's Nana Joan or Nana Janet. Carla, although clearly a sweet person, was also someone that Kate employed (I believe she was paid for babysitting) and I don't know she would say that.

That statement at the end seems to be coming from someone older and wiser. Not that you have to be older or wiser to understand that, just that it sounds like something coming from Nana Joan perhaps since she had a close relationship with Jon since he was little.

What irks me is they got out of their previous speaking engagements because "they had spoken to God and made this decision."

Yeah, because God will be the first one to tell you to stop making on appearance for another because of the dollar. I don't know what God they serve, but MY God would never tell me to do something like that. In fact, my God is more concerned for my soul and well being than He is about greed.

Give me a break already. Quit using God to condone what you are doing to your children.

I forwarded the article to Rev. Craig Yoshihara (cyoshihara@rumc.com)at Roswell United Methodist Church - March 20th appearance & asked that he read it before the event.

Jon has already cancelled out on that appearance.

Jen K said...

Considering that churches paid to hear the story of a young, ethical Christian couple and that those churches have now (upon reading this article) learned that Kate lied onstage about the employment circumstances that caused such a "hardship" for them, I wonder what pastors are thinking?

Since some of these churches paid upwards of $25,000 for a talk that has confirmed lies in it, I would be feeling duped and feel as though fraud had been committed.

But that's just me...don't want to give any disgruntled churches any bright ideas (wink, wink). ;)

Laura said...

Great article! I am so surprized they still have fans! The show was interested until the Utah trip.

It's sad but I think they've really abused the goodwill of people.

Are they actually appearing on Oprah again? Oprah's site had a link to their previous appearance but didn't say anything about a current one.

Dr. Oz was none to happy about the Nadya Suleman. I bet he has "thoughts" on the Gosselins as well but probably won't speak them out loud.

I thought this was a great article. It was well-written and gave the perspective of a reasonable person who started looking into all this information and came up with questions. To bad they didn't bring up Jon's job in Harrisburg because he was let go again because he was a slacker. He took sick days and than they would show him on TV stating "I took a sick day because Kate wanted me to go with her to" whatever they were doing that day while filming. I also heard he was ALWAYS on the phone with her. He was probably online for personal use as well and that CAN be documented. When I read the part that he stated to his old boss that he "would never have to work again" I threw up in my mouth. Those two do deserve each other, but I feel sorry for those poor kids.

I think Jess did a great job. The article was extremely well-written! I am so glad that Jon's former boss came out of the closet, let his name be used, and had the "supporting documents" to corroborate his story.

This is NOT a criticism of Jess - but I had hoped that more people would have come forward with information and allowed their names to be used. This article will help people still on the fence about KON see the reality of the scam these two are running and that they need to go away. As to the sheeple, sadly - very sadly - I do not think anything can bring them around. But this article is indeed a start. At least now we have something to email to the churches where KON (or rather, Kate) is scheduled to appear. Do we have an updated "speaking engagement calendar?" I know there is one on the sidebar, but it does not reflect every engagement. I know it might be hard to get every single one - but am wondering if there is a way to do it? Also, KON is appearing at more secular venues - for example, the Frauenthal Theatre in Muskegon, MI in May. Apparently, they are almost sold out. Places like these will not cancel them because it's all about $$$ coming in for them.

Another thing - Jess mentions GWOP. This is nice for us, but I wonder if it could backfire as the sheeple will twist things and say she got her info from some KON blog. Well, I guess it does not matter because the sheeple say whatever they need to say to remain in militant denial.

Its A Good Thing said...

Thats great, Jon and Kate have gone entirely too far and its time they own up to their actions.

Teryn said...

Those self-righteous stalkers at the fan blogs wouldn't have even known about this article had they not been nosey'ing around here all day. I'll bet they're all having to double their blood pressure meds today :)

I sure wish Jodi's video was still up. A lot of them never saw it and never got to see that hurt in her eyes as she validated the rumors. Anybody who could see that and still say we are just haters is twisted and moronic.

Teresa said...

Jen K said...

This article didn't tell us anythong more than we currently know.

I think getting the story out there is enough. There are tons of people who were likely on the fence and knew something was up but weren't quite sure what to think of it.

Plus, the info about the former employer was a big scoop. While most of us knew it was the truth, getting that info out there in the article was a major deal. It basically says that Jon and Kate have been purposely lying all along and that the real source of their financial hardship was not the employer (poor guy...had to be blamed for that all these years) but Jon's own incompetence.

Arieslikekate said...

Wow - I knew it was "bad" but this just sickens me even more.

The kids are a "product" that KON will continually sell until the public is no longer interested in buying the product.

I hope that there is some money left, for in the future, there are going to be eight adults seeking counseling.

RealMom said...

Jessica thank you.

Kate will be in E-town KY on March 8. There was an article in one of their papers yesterday. Along with the glowing report that the queen is coming to town, the reporter saidthat "venues like this are where the Gosselins' minisrty is real". That the editing is what makes them look blah blah blah!

I just did something I have never done. The reporters name and number were listed, without giving myself time to think about it, I called her.

I told that I had just read her load of crap and that Kate lies in church and it may be safer for her to watch from the simulcast from the tent next door, something I heard as a child if you lie in
church the roof will cave in.

I told her that if she considered
herself to be a real journalist to check out her story, and start
with Jessicas story.

Also on this site they had a picture of Kate only you could order. 8x10 $9.99 or 5x7 for $7.99 plus $4.99 shipping. A note at the bottom you must be 13 yes 13 to order.

This church is about a hour from my house. Because this story sent me into orbit I won't go to the church. But if any knows if she is doing a booksigning in the area I would love to have her sign a autograph copy of jessica's article.

Of all of kons crap I have no idea why this pushed every button I have!

The fans are saying mean things about Jodi, who has been "seen" on tv as being as sweet and caring as they come, yet they think Jon and Kate can do no wrong and are nice, loving people.

Gimme a friggin' break. Go get your eyes and ears checked, and your heads while you're at it.

Can you picture this scene: Jodi in her kitchen with her children, and the children are lovingly chanting, "Thank you mommy for getting us puppies"...and Jodi screeching, "YOU'RE NOT WELCOME".

????? Can you picture that???? I can't either. It would never happen. Only a true bitch on the insode would even think to say something like that. You can dress Kate up, color her orange, spike the hair, slap on heals, and stick her in a chair on a church stage, but she's still a bonfide bitch on the inside.

Thank you Jessica and Philadelphia magazine for validating what regular GWOP readers know too well- Jon and Kate Gosselin are a pair of low life KON artists.
I attended a Love offering in Ohio one year ago this week, Defiance Ohio. I attended Saturday night, the first of 3 sessions. Kate definitely told the sob story of how poor they were, they searched the couch cushions to find mortgage money, they had no money to buy paper towels. They most certainly stated Jon was fired not once but twice because of "insurance". Someone from the audience even asked KON for their political opinions on the health insurance debate.
We were told at least 3 times the love offering basket would be passed for Jon and Kate, and it was passed. I saw working class people put $20 bills in the basket, proceeds going to reality show millionaires.
I'm glad they are exposed by a mainstream publication. About time.
Hats off to the moderators of GWOP, the exchange of information on this blog helped expose the truth. I am proud to say I read GWOP for the truth. And thanks to Jodi and Julie as well for blowing the lid off the lies.
I'm going to send the link to others as well. Sheeple and non sheeple need to read this.

I am so happy to see a negative article about these two scammers/child exploiters! They are both disgusting, putting their children through all that they do. They are getting rich (obviously) off of their children and it's horrible!

Funny to see the sheeple pop up in the comment section. They called us a bunch of housebound loonies spewing hate or something like that. They are the ones who refuse to see the truth and defend innocent kids. I am a college graduate, experienced elementary teacher, now stay-at-home mom, wife, active member in my community, far from a hate-spewing nut, thank you very much!

I hope that articles like this continue and the Gosselins are exposed for what they are: greedy, lazy, child exploiters getting rich selling their kids' childhoods.

Do they never wonder why no one who actually knows them ever comes to their defense?

Does it not cross their minds that they don't answer the questions that they can't answer for fear of derailing the gravy train?

Why would anyone want to continue wearing their rose colored glasses, blinders, or any combination thereof?

I think it would be in J&K's best interest to have a social worker on set to look out for the kids. I read in the article about filming in coats when it was hot out. Were fans provided? How about cool drinks for the kids? Were the kids given sufficient breaks that day? Remember those kids don't get to take a day off when they feel like it because they might get mommie dearest mad at them.

What if the State of Penn got some calls from GWOPers asking if this could be possible. I live in CA but would love a number to call to check into this.

If the laws governing children in scripted filming ever cross over to cover children in reality filming, you'll have that kind of oversight. Right now the Gosselin children and others like them are without that sort of protection.

Great article, just wish there were more people that stepped up to the plate to tell their side of the story. At the same time, it is an eye opener especially for those that do not know the real story about Kon. Wonder how they will try to spin this article, now?

I have a question.....I was under the impression that volunteers from Kate's Dad's church remodeled their first house so it would accomodate the tups coming home, etc.

But in Jennifer's article she says: "before the whole family went home, the NBC remodeling reality show Home Delivery did over the couple’s small Wyomissing house to make room for six more."

Are these 2 groups (Home Delivery and the church volunteers) one in the same? Or am I confused and did the church redo a different home for the family?

I am just barely computer literate ... wrong generation. If any of your bright folks would send this article to Oprah and Dr Phil, it might do some good.

As with many stories variations pop up. Indeed the home show did renovate the house. I've heard the church story before also. Perhaps they helped or were part of the volunteer crew?

Wow, this was even more insightful than I ever imagined! Bravo, for taking the time to research and state the facts!!! Thank you to family, friends, etc for speaking out. How sheeple will spin this one is beyond me. I really hope this opens the eyes of some lawmakers to the exploitation issue involved here. Jane and kate need to be stopped now. those poor kids are sinking deeper.

The church donated a lot of items for the babies. The church members also supplied manpower hours just like you see the community members come together to do the actual work on the other home improvement show out there. They donated items, money and time all along the way.

Here is a copy of an article that was written about the home makeover:

TV show lends sextuplets' family a hand
Kate I. and Jonathan K. Gosselin and their eight children will be helped to a home makeover by a new reality program.

By Yvonne M. Wenger
Reading Eagle
While friends and family await the homecoming of the Gosselin sextuplets, a home delivery of another sort is in the making.

The six babies, born May 10 to Kate I. and Jonathan K. Gosselin of Wyomissing, will be the stars in an episode of “Home Delivery,” an upcoming NBC Universal daytime reality show.

The show will involve an overhaul of the Gosselin home on Dauphin Avenue with help from friends, local contractors and members of the Gosselin's church, Calvary Bible Fellowship Church in Lower Heidelberg Township.

“It's a heart-to-heart show,” said Jonathan Gosselin, 27, explaining the telephone call he received from producers asking to feature his family on the syndicated show. “That's the way it was pitched to me.”

Church members originally planned to renovate the Gosselin home on their own, and the work was supposed to start last Saturday.

The project was delayed after the “Home Delivery” people called.

“They called us,” Jonathan Gosselin said. “I thought, ‘Is this a scam?' I called people I knew in New York City and found it was real.

“It's like, ‘Whoa, really weird. You want our church to do all the labor and NBC is going to finance it?' I said OK.”

The Gosselin babies, who were born about nine weeks premature and weighed about 3 pounds each, remain in the neonatal intensive care unit in Hershey Medical Center. Doctors said the babies are progressing well.

“Nearly all the Gosselins have been advanced to full diets of breast milk or premature formula,” said Dr. Dennis Mujsce, director of the neonatal intensive care unit.

“In a head ultrasound performed recently, none showed any bleeding or brain injury,” Mujsce said in a written statement. “That is a very important finding.”

Jonathan said he and his family, which includes 3-year-old twin daughters, Madelyn and Cara, will continue to reside in Hershey until the babies are all able to come home in late July.

“Home Delivery” will premiere Sept. 13 on WPHL Phildelphia's WB17, said Gary Rosen, a spokesman for the show.

The hour-long program will air weekdays, but a time has not been set.

Rosen did not have the date the Gosselin show will air.

“It's part talk show, part makeover show and part reality show where we truly transform people's lives,” Rosen said.

Producers heard about the Gosselins through news reports when the babies were born.

“We were very touched, and hoped we could help them in any way,” he said.

Taping is expected to begin this month. Crews will periodically return to record the progress of the home renovations and return for the Gosselins' homecoming.

Producers would not reveal all that is in store for the Gosselins and their home renovation.

But Ken J. Shrom Jr., who organized the project with fellow Calvary Bible Fellowship Church members, said the church had planned to convert the Gosselin's garage into a master bedroom and add two bathrooms and a rear deck 16 feet by 24 feet.

“One thing that's exciting to me is that the show is supposed to be about a community coming together around a family in need,” Shrom said of “Home Delivery.”

That's exactly what the church had in mind, but with help from the television show members will be able to do much more for the Gosselins, he said.

“Through the show, they definitely got more than we could have done,” Shrom said.

Producers from NBC contacted local and national retailers and will receive donations of building materials, appliances and other items, Rosen said.

Jonathan Gosselin said he and Kate, 29, are grateful for all of the help they have received from the community, including a trailer full of donated baby supplies collected by the church.

But the donations, which he called blessings, have not been without the occasional nasty remark.

“ ‘Why are you asking for these things?' ” Jonathan Gosselin said some people have asked.

“We didn't even solicit anyone,” he said. “The media came to us. I never said, ‘You owe me this.' That's where people get confused.”

Besides, he said, he and his wife plan to continue the chain of generosity.

“Everything that was donated to us, we will donate back to other multiples or other families in need,” he said.

About the show

“Home Delivery” is an upcoming NBC Universal reality show.

The syndicated program will premiere locally Sept. 13 on WPHL Philadelphia WB17.

It is scheduled to air weekdays, but a time has not been set.

The show's tag line is, “We'll knock on your door and change your life.” Crews will travel across the country to visit families with amazing stories and help transform their lives.

The program is described as part talk show, part makeover show and part reality show.

I don't hate Jon and Kate. As a Christian I'm more upset at all the churches and Christian organizations who present them as "the real deal" and their footsteps we should aspire to follow as parents. Just b/c they made the choice to keep all the babies - big deal? It was ONE decision of faith. When I was pregnant and my doc thought something was wrong with my baby, he asked me if I would consider aborting if he found something bad from the amnio. Of course I said no. How come these churches aren't parading me and all the other women who made that kind of decision in front of their congregation? Deciding against abortion is noble, by all means, but doesn't make you head of the class, worthy to be showcased. I'm so sick of all these churches swooning over them b/c they are popular, under the guise that they walk a journey of faith every day. PULEEZE. I'd buy a ticket to hear the parents of the girl who was raped, came back from depression and opened up a home of rape victims, with no money but lots of prayer. I'd rather buy a ticket to hear from the family who's father was paralyzed and couldn't provide for his family anymore and so the mother had to work 2 jobs to make ends meet, but someone they still held the family together and all you see from them is love and faith. I think its typical yet hypocritical that all these churches who pay for them to speak are ignoring the fact that the Gosselins never had to rise from adversity to the point they are at now.

As an active member in women's ministry, I dare not even think the long term effects this show has on today's young marrieds and young families. I dare not think how young women, who aspire to have a clean house, matching clothes on their children, big homes, new appliances and a dutiful meak husband, will find Kate's words to them as a speaker acceptable when her behavior as a TV star are not only contradictory to each other but also to what the Bible says as a Christian woman, wife and mother. I dare not think of the hundreds of children who will be neglected in the coming days b/c their mothers, after hearing Kate speak as "a real woman", will think it is acceptable that it is more important to clean her house rather than raise her children.

I'd love to know where the Gosselins go to church, b/c I want to make sure I never step foot in it. Apparently, they have never heard of Mary and Martha and the important lesson Christ Himself taught personally to them.

Churches, please, please, please stop paying the Gosselins to influence your congregations into thinking this is how a Christian family should be. There are more worthy Christians out there who actually have a deep wonderful rich relationship with God, and it is obvious that they do. PLEASE!

That article was very balanced and covered the situation perfectly. J&K were adorable in the beginning--but now the show is just wrong and disturbing. I'm glad the truth is coming out. Bravo to the journalist!

Too bad the comment section distracts from the story. It's a back and forth cat fight between the fans and GWOPers, and GWOP comes across really bad. It would make the article look more professional if all that mess wasn't attached to it.

I attended a Love offering in Ohio one year ago this week, Defiance Ohio...
We were told at least 3 times the love offering basket would be passed for Jon and Kate, and it was passed. I saw working class people put $20 bills in the basket, proceeds going to reality show millionaires.

Thank you for posting this. I was curious as to how long its been since they were asking for love offerings. It seems May or so was probably about the time they hired the new publicist, cancelled their previous bookings and started booking at the reported $25K rate. I think Julie's site (Aunt Jodi's sister) went up in August and the sixgosselins website was revamped shortly before that.

I would say May is when they officially jumped the shark and that it probably was immediately after TLC started negotiations for the 2008/2009 season. This was probably when their popularity was at its highest.

I find this season to be the most distasteful (with the posturing, attitude, clothes (Kate), and house, Hawaii, appliances...etc.) and am thinking their "fame" went to their heads last summer.

Apologies if this timeline has been detailed out before...I wasn't certain of it until seeing Ravello's post.

As someone who is in the process of adopting from Korea, the Gosselins aren't able to adopt from Korea as you are only allowed to have a max of 4 children in the household. The only exception I believe, would be if they decided to go the SN (special needs) route.

I'd like to point out the California child protection laws and the fact that they DO protect kids, even in so-called "unscripted"/"reality" genres. You'll remember the controversial CBS show 'Kid Nation' was set in the one State that had THE loosest child protection laws... and even then, they had to hurry because the tighter restrictions were coming.

We _now_ know why Kon didn't pack up and move to Cali for their new McMansion. THEY COULDN'T EXPLOIT THEIR KIDS! I don't know why they didn't head down to Florida to escape the cold weather. Probably laws exist there, too (?)!

The Jackie Coogan law never conceived the idea of such a ludicrous genre (reality/unscripted), but I'm sure we ALL agree protection is necessary.

Much like Disney does w/ their girlie sitcoms, Discovery Communications has their replacements waiting in the wings. That show seems to be the one upsmanship known as '12 At The Table'. Boycott these exploitive shows!!!

I also put this article on my facebook page. People mentioned both Oprah and Dr. Phil, but someone should also forward the article to a show such as the View for their Hot Topics Segment. They definitely jumped the shark since their Ohio appearance one year ago. I was not a sheeple, I disliked Kate but the events of the last year have been so shocking. This time last year I had no idea that Jon had long since quit the job in the PA governor's office (they told the story about how a Senator called offering help, he forwarded Jon's resume to the governor of PA who hired Jon). The Ohio appearance was before Joelgate, Gumgate, Cupcakegate, the banishment of Aunt Jodi, the cruel treatment of the boys, the over the top vacations and freebies. Not to mention the purchase of a 1.3 million dollar home in the middle of a recession and they don't even have jobs! What a difference a year makes. And I am not jealous of Jon and Kate, my husband and I do just fine.

Yes this refers to Jon whining on the Triplet Connection (one of many posts he later requested be removed) about the "free" home remodel that wasn't really "free" (oh my goodnes, can I just say how stupid Jon is!). He complained about the 1099 (Interest income form) which basically counts the cost of remodel as part of their income. This is also the remodel that Kate referred to as "Horrendously Horrendous". Mind you this remodel added $100,000.00 worth of value to their home.

I just want to add that this is at least the second time that GWOP has been cited as a resource. I think all of complaints are sour grapes. After all, there were many questions of disbelief during the course of research for this article. In my opinion, if the "naysayers" had given valid information as well, it would have been mentioned. The Gosselins not agreeing to be interviewed and TLC crying "unethical" says a lot. A lot.

Bravo to Jon's employer for coming out with his side of the story. I'd like to see how that information is disputed.

I think it would be great if some of these churches turned the sessions with the Gosselins around, and turned them into a chance to guide Kate in the Biblical teaching of marriage, where it says that wives must RESPECT their husbands...and preaching on how to save your marriage by being a selfless partner. Maybe show "Fireproof"....then have the congregation lay hands on the couple, or just Kate; and pray for the couple.

A true change of heart would certainly be the witness they should have been all along. God can make good come out of this situation.

Professional Mom said...

ICExploitation...I am sorry, but I have to agree with Kate, if she actually said the "Homedelivery" remodel was "horrendously horrendous"...it was! UGH! But, sadly, Kate does not understand Christian charity, and grace. Because it was very offensive, and cruel to make this comment on TV, about people trying to help them!

The article was a great step forward and the naysayers are foaming at the mouth about it. The desperation is palatable.

Anyway, I'm very pleased with the article. It did a good job of laying out the basic framework of the situation and hit upon a key issue which was Jon's supposed "firing" for insurance reasons. The fact that his employer explained the situation was good and it gets the truth out there.

She also gave the Gosselins repeated opportunities to tell their side of the story and they refused, so I don't know why people are all bent about it. If they felt they needed to clarify some things, they had ample opportunity to do so.

I know that some people have felt that all it would take would be one good article, which would snowball into two and so on. I think that this article along with the journalist's account of trying to interview Jon and Kate for the Valentine's Day article is just the beginning.

Which begs the question; Why are child protection laws (as it applies to the filming of 'unscripted and 'reality' entertainment, limited to only protecting children residing/filming in CA and not protecting the the same rights and privacies of ALL minor children regardless of where they are residing/ being filmed! Obviously CA child protection services acknowledged the necessity for such a law. Just another poster standing up to praise this article. I love reading what we've long been saying/asking in a forum other than a blog.

I also have to praise the author for providing me with hours of entertainment. Watching the pro-Gosselin-they-can-say-and-do-anything-they-want-and-we-still-love-them people and by that I mean SHEEPLE put a spin on this is truly hilarious.

According to sheeple, if it's not a "direct quote" the information doesn't count. Because you've done research on the internet by posting a generic gmail address the information in your article doesn't count...it's endless, the dancing the sheeple will do to protect J&K.

Honestly if I were J&K I'd save some money and just hire sheeple as my PR (that's public relations) team. If it can be spun, they spin it. They can dismiss and write their way around everything...it's really quite genius.

Jenny the former helper is under a nondisclosure agreement? I figure the PR folks must've been behind that move; they had to be reading GWOP to start anticipating articles like this one.

I never thought Jon had a legit claim to being an IT person, and this article demolished it. Custom cabinetry usually isn't an area where one would find a full-time IT person, much less an IT department.

This article knocks Jon down a number of pegs to Kate's level. Jon may have gained a few sympathy votes as one of Kate's victims, but the article shows him to be as much of a scammer as she is.

sueshe said...

In the beginning of their show, JON had mentioned that Discovery found them via the internet. Now the whole truth comes out. That he had marketed the sextuplets before they were even born. I have a feeling that Kate's parents knew what they were scheming and did not approve of their actions, hence their absences.
Obviously, their get rich scheme has worked, and they are getting what they set out to do. But I wonder how much longer this will go on. The kids will be going to school soon, so what can TLC film that would be interesting. The drive down the driveway (too long to walk) to meet the bus? Jon helping with the homework, as Kate can't be bothered. (Jon does it all, dress them, brushes their teeth, gets them up, plays with them).
Ok TLC you got what you wanted, Kon's got what they wanted, now do us all a big favor and put it to rest.

---------------------------
That was a quote of Jon's from the article about the Home Delivery episode. And we know it is a lie. They didn't 'donate' the stuff back. They had a yard sale with it. Yes, I know they said the proceeds went to pediatric cancer, but what about the stuff that didn't sell? I believe it went to Goodwill or somewhere similar? I remember there was a woman at the yard sale looking at one of the triplet strollers (that KON did not pay for). This lady was going to be having triplets. Why sell it to her? Why not just GIVE it to her? After all, the Gosselins said they would donate everything to other families.

And it is just SO apparent that Jon is SO lazy. He never wanted to work. I don't think he realized, when they first had kids, how much responsibility came with being a father, including fiscal responsibility. It seems like anytime he leaves or looses a job, he always has some excuse as to why it isn't his fault. Yeah, right. KON is full of excuses.

Well, it's about time! Great job Jessica. I hope this is the start of something bigger.

I always had the feeling too that Jon was the mastermind. I think he is as dumb as a brick in the "booksmart" club, but he is a master of deception. I think he turned Kate into the monster that she is. I do blame her too, don't get me wrong about that, but there is something devious about him. Like a hidden evil. She is just plain evil and let's it show.

I would almost bet money (if I had any!) that Jon's former boss will end up with some retaliation from the Kon's. These two mother shmuckers seem very vindictive and would be capable of anything if someone threatened to ruin their gravy train.

Let's hope that this is the beginning of the end of the show.
I started watching because they were about the same age as my wife and myself, and the dynamic in their marriage at that point was similar to the dynamics in my marriage(though never as bad, especially in public). More and more, I've come to see the show as a train wreck and a disaster-in-progress, and my wife is coming around to my opinion. I used to like this show, but there is an underlying lazines and ostentaciousness (is that a word? but I think my meaning is clear) in both J&K tha tis really, really disturbing, especially given the current economic climate.

How can churches still offer thieir pulpits to these two (or one)? It is disturbing that tthis train wreck is seemingly being held up as a model for others to follow. So, if you're a young, struggling Christian couple, get questionable fertility treatments, have a HOM birth, make arrangements for someone else to pay the bills......UGH. I prefer to stay in the real world.

As someone who teaches MS Office, I can safely say that learning Office does not, in any way/shape/form, make you an "IT Guy".

Thank God at least one former employer stepped up and said that their story about being fired was documented total crap and that a LOT of this was orchestrated from BEFORE day one.

There's no way that blind fans can cover this up and pretend that they are not liars. Not that they won't try. I accidentially wandered onto BabyMama's site last week and was horrified. (Rare sympathy for J&K:If they don't have a restraining order against this woman, they badly need one!

Wow, great article. Some interesting information about Jon that I didn't know and I'm glad to see an explanation for the "I was fired for having 6 babies" crock of crap story that Jon keeps telling people.

I hope this opens some people's eyes to what is really going on in Gosselin-land.

Its A Good Thing said...

I don't think Jon is the mastermind behind the Gosselin craziness, I think Kate came up with the idea and then the two played off each other.

Dor said...

Another quick thought....Jessica made a good mention of charging people $20 CASH for photos. I wonder if the IRS will step in at some point. Income is income and you are supposed to pay taxes on income. The fact that they demand cash shows that they are not paying taxes on it. I wonder if they write off the "donations" they have made? Kate clearly corrected her self from "he gave them to us (the dogs)" to we paid for them and the money gets put to charity. Very interesting.....OH WHAT TANGLED WEBS WE WEAVE!!!!!!!!!!!

I do hope that somehow, Aunt Jodi can save these kids poor little souls and show them the love that they deserve.

Matthew said...

God knows whay this took so long for people to catch on that Jon's story had a giant hole in it.
If you we really "Fired" for wanting health insurance for your family, which inclufded a wife expecting sextuplets, it's considered an unfair labor practice and the employer could easily expect a lawsuit. If they really needed the insurance, the difficult birth and lengthy NICU stays would sway any jury, and J&K would win, big.
Why didn't they sue? The employer has a paper trail demonstrating that Jon is full of crap.
Why do they continue to insist on foisting this plainly improbable story on the public? Perhaps God's telling them to, like he's telling them to turn down low-paying speaking gigs.
I'm on the finance committee at a small church in PA, and we just got done sweating out a budget for under 100,000. J&K have plainly priced themselves into the mega-church market only. But why would Kate (Jon seems to be forgoeing these) want to mingle with us poor folk?

Matthew said...

This article does seem to paint Jon as the evil mastermind and not the cojones-less victim he seemingly wants to be seen as.
Filling in the gaps is not very difficult; Jon didn't want more kids, so when Kate was pregnant te second time, he says, "I am going to make these kids pay! Not only for their own upbringing, but for me and my wife to never work again!"
If this is close to reality, it tragically worked, to the detriment of the psyche of 8 kids.

Sadly, from what I can tell reading the sheeple blogs and boards, this has done nothing for them and hasn't changed their tune one little bit. If anything, the article seems to have inflamed them into holding onto their illusions that much tighter. It's like the truth and direct quotes in that article weren't enough for them, and I don't follow their logic at all.

Which is sad and stupid at the same time. An article has been published, publicly calling J&K out but the sheeple are true to their cause and refuse to take any information from the article for silly reasons like lack of direct quotes.

The article even states that there is PROOF that Jon wasn't fired because of insurance issues and many of them are claiming they won't believe that until they see those documents. Because why would Jon lie? Why should they believe a journalist over Jon?

As for the boss revealing the truth about his dismissal, the sheeple aren't listening to that because the former boss obviously has an ax to grind for having been slammed by them in the media.

Huh? Someone offers a contradictory story and of course, they're lying or are jealous.

Sigh, nothing new under the sun there.

It's inane. And spooky.

I honestly don't think this article is going to change the minds of the rabid fans, which is so sad. They've been demanding "proof" of everything until they will believe that Jon and Kate don't have the best of intentions, then they get some proof and say it's not good enough.

Some people just hear what they want to hear and disregard the rest.

My hope is that this article generates enough interest that other journalists follow suit and really blow this story, I mean con game, wide open.

My hope is that for every story we read or hear about the Gosselins that licks their feet, another journalist will step up and lay down some truth tracks so the sheeple finally hear the truth.

May this article illustrating how J&K are cons extraordinaire spread like a brush fire and ignite even more truth telling so that this debacle can come to an end and the Gosselin children can have the childhood they so rightly deserve.

While the really rabid fans don't seem turned by this story, I've noticed some fence-sitters saying, "yeah, something is up...this show should end".

Even on one of the really vile boards, if you look past the mean comments about people who don't like the Gosselins, you can see how they really feel on a different board (same site, diff board) where they more or less agree with the basic premise that most people believe here: The show should end and those parents aren't all they've made themselves out to be.

I think this article will be the stepping stone to another, and another and hopefully some sort of expose on television (how ironic)...maybe "20/20" or a similar show?

Its just a little TV show about some kids and their parents. I don't get the hype and the kids look happy and content most of the time, like all kids. Jon is hardly a bright guy and worked low level jobs that don't last. Well yeah, that is fairly normal. He is doing well in his Dad Job. Its not that the folks can't "see the light", its that most of us are happpy to see the family doing well and wish them all the best.

From the Gosselin's official website:

"However, that is why our show is a reality show…you get the good, the bad and the ugly and we are determined to be the exact same people that we are when the cameras aren’t there. Many people have been helped by our honesty…so are we “sorry” that certain things are aired? Never."

So, Jenny the Babysitter, you have nothing to worry about, by telling your side of the story! They love people to see the good and the bad...they are never sorry when the bad comes out in public!! YIPEE! They don't really want a confidentiality agreement...because that would mean that the above published statement was a lie! I am sure they wouldn't mind you speaking out and sharing the truth about why you no longer work there!

I don't think any intelligent person ever believed Jon's story. He was fired when QFI was carrying six tiny embryos, and it was, at that point, very likely she might lose all of them. You don't fire a valued employee for what might happen. (Of course, the operative word is 'valued.') Moreover, I believe Kon were eligible for CHIP, so there wouldn't have been any increase in anyone's insurance premiums. Medicaid did, after all, provide them with a LPN for a year after the tups' birth.

I suspect the 'insurance issue' story was cobbled together by Kon to explain to Jon's father (who was subsidizing them), family and friends why Jon was fired. Beats saying, 'I'm a lazy doofus.' :)

To add to what you said, Teryn, we also saw Mady and Cara "hopped up" on laughing gas when they had their cavities filled on camera. I remember Mady quickly went from crying to giggly, telling jokes to the dentist. We also saw the tups go to the dentist twice. It sickens me that people are so quick to judge David's dad and Nadya Suleman and not even mention J&K. Although, it's possible that J&K just aren't as big as they think they are. Perhaps if one of tups embarrassing film clips were made into a viral Youtube hit, people that do not know of the show would be enlightened.

I love my son! said...

I would like to express my thoughts on a few subjects that Jessica has opened my eyes to.
1.) When Kate claimed to want just "one more" I believe she meant just one more HOM. If not then why would you set up a website..correction 'prayer list' asking for donations prior to the births. I think there was some major researching done on their part.
2.) I have a hard time believing they were ever on dire straits. Jon having to stand in line to apply for assistance to pay for an electric bill. Is it just me or do others believe that Jon's dad would have stepped in to help? How was Jon able to go back packing through Europe when he didn't work? Someone paid Jon's way to go play. Surely, an electric bill would have just been a drop in the Gosselin charity bucket.
3.) My son has the New International Webster's Student Dictionary (2002 edition). This dictionary is easy for students to use and comprehend. For those of you who are teetering on the fence, here is the STUDENT definition for exploit (pg 250):
1.) To use for one's own advantage; take advantage of 2.) To put to use; make use of.
Mady and Cara are at an age of curiousity. They are smart and very intelligent. I'm sure they have heard the word 'exploit' several times. I'm just wondering how long it will be before they read the definition.

I love my son,

This is just my opinion but I feel Jon's father was probably tired of supporting Jon and then after the tups were born helping to support them all. I think Jon was spoiled and expected help from his father frequently. I feel they have both always felt entitled to what others have without paying the dues. I don't mind helping others but it gets old when they are not helping themselves.

I love my son! said...

RuthinVA said...

I totally agree with you. However, I was trying to say they have exaggerated the truth so much that they have made it sound as if no one was willing to help them. After all the Gosselins' did host a large party for 100 helpers, friends, and family prior to the 'tups first birthday at an Inn. If nobody helped them out then why have a party and pay for everyone who didn't help?!

RuthinVA said...

I love my son,

I don't think they were ever as bad off as they say they were. They were just using every avenue to get more money. The part about the party for the 100 people...Kate is sly, sly like a fox.

I have an adopted sister that is exactly the same. She would borrow money from someone and not pay it back, when you tried to talk to her about it she would say they have plenty of money they don't need it. Boy, it used to make me so mad. She also felt she was always entitled to whatever you had. Still does...

I also read a post lately that mentioned Jon stating they recieved a 1099(?..not sure I have the form number correct) from NBC for the work that was done. Until I had read that, I hadn't realized they were featured on any home remodeling shows.

_____________________________

There are many different 1099 income forms. Some are for retirement payouts, taxable savings interest, working as a consultant, etc. Instead of getting a W-2, you get a 1099 in these cases. No tax is being taken out of the money given to you, you need to figure it on your taxes. Remember the cars that Oprah wanted to give away? The audience was going to have to pay taxes on the cars and it blew up in her face. J&K's remodel, free trips, etc. count as income or gifts they need to pay taxes on.

I read that KON says Jon was fired from TWO jobs for insurance/family purposes. Is that true? Would that be the governor's job that he never went to and Kate kept calling?
I'd be embarrassed by a spouse calling the office like that everyday, (they admitted it on the show).

About their college funds...with 3 kids in college and lower income, my kids qualify for grants, student loans and work summers. They will owe when they are done but it is the only way they can go to college (like millions of others). KON in the middle income bracket would qualify for all the grants/loans if they had 6-8 kids in college at once, IMO.
Sometimes life is what it is, why should the Gosselins be any different than the rest of us?

I found this statement the most revealing of what this show has become and here it is: The most burning question viewers have begun to ask is whether Jon and Kate will adopt, yes, “just one more baby,” as Kate wistfully says on the show, with the couple answering in a recent episode with an enigmatic, “No. We don’t know. We don’t know what’s going on.” And that is, after all, the point — to make sure viewers don’t know what’s going on, either, so they keep tuning in, week after week.

They admit they don't know what's going on from week to week and that sounds like to me that TLC has complete control over everything happening with the gosselins and has left reality altogether and are making up shows as they go along. Jon and kate have sold their family over to a t.v. production. I'm not so sure how much of that bothers them anylonger, they have put their trust in TLC who will drop them like a hot poker as soon as a bigger paycheck comes along. I'm not only not watching Jon and kate anylonger but am done with TLC altogether, I don't want to be a part of what TLC represents, I'm sorry I ever watched to begin with! If we want shows like this to stop we have to stop wanting them, these children are just too precious.

Too bad the comment section distracts from the story. It's a back and forth cat fight between the fans and GWOPers, and GWOP comes across really bad. It would make the article look more professional if all that mess wasn't attached to it.

Every article I've read about J&K has a comment section provided at the bottom. I don't feel that the comment section takes away from the message in the article, if anything maybe opposing opinions will turn a light on in those riding the fence. Jon and Kate only want brand new & brand name freebies! If they had to pay for the majority of their clothing, those kids would be wearing Garanimals like my son did for years. I also think the college funds were opened so people could make deposits to the account. However, the scammers wanted the college funds free and clear. So, they keep saying there are no college funds set up for their kids dispite an open letter from the governor being published stating otherwise. The people of PA. are smart and realized these two were/are shmucks. I just wished the article would have touched on the college funds. That would have been another lie they would have been caught in.

I know it's because Nadya isn't married that she's getting alot of flack from people, among many other reasons, but when everyone criticizes her irresponsible choices (and rightly so) no one jumps in and accuses everyone else of being "just jealous" but when you speak out against Kate doing THE SAME THING, her fans are all over the jealousy issue and it just doesn't make sense.
Honestly, if I was jealous, I'd try to imitate her, ie-copying the haircut, buying the books and products, emulating her attitude, etc. Does anyone see the comparison there?

The article was good because it will point out to people who don't come on here all the craziness of KON, but for people who are familiar with GWOP, or those who mis-trust it, it just looks like something written by someone from here. I am not trying to be crtizing, cause I want Kon off the air just like anyone else, but it will look like that to the "sheeple" as you guys call them because every single point she made has been constantly repeated on here. Let's just hope it gets spread around in the right way. I have a feeling that ever since Octo-mom came onto the scene it would shed a new light on John and Kate.

The fact that Joel Mccail is constantly making fun of them each week is also great. Tons of people watch that show and it's on a very popular channel. He doesn't make Kate look good that is for sure, so I hope he keeps doing it every episode. It's hilarious!

I would love it if Jessica would write a follow-up to this article and touch on some of the subjects that were not mentioned or were not fleshed out completely:

1. College funds and their claims that they have no such funds. Why do they always say they don't have a fund when it is clear they do and that at least "some" people have given money to it?

2. The $20 "cash only" photos. Why not take a check, or at least offer a receipt? That always seemed strange to me, because most businesses which operate on a "cash only" basis are VERY careful to keep good records in case of an audit.

3. The donations of items from Kate's dad's church and how she snubbed things that were not matching or name brand. I'm sure a member of her dad's church would have something to say about that.

4. The grandparents...the strangest aspect of this if you ask me.

5. Their claim that anything given to them would be donated to families in need and instead they practically have their own section at the local consignment store.

Just some things that might have been mentioned, but would make for a good follow-up. Overall though, I was pleased with the article because it introduces some of the major issues to people who have no real knowledge of this situation.

It is also interesting to see the progression of time from the original air date of 'Surving Sextuplets & Twins' and present day and living in a 1.3 mil multi acre home. As the seasons (a mere three years) progressed, the Gosselins have been prevy to numerous luxeries ie hair transplant surgery, teeth whitening, resort vacations, 'special days' with accomodating treatment, amusement park vists, etc and so on. However, the show has displayed minimal if any explanation as to how the Gosselin family went about 'barely having a roof over their head and food on the table' to acquiring the lifestyle status that they have obviously grown accustomed to today. We often see the Gosselin family being described as 'how do they do it', the 'challanges facing the Gosselin family, 'the struggles of raising a large family'. The J & K reality show, by all appearances depicts a large family that is doing quite well financially with their only struggle and challange in life being how to balance the terms and conditions of product placement and sponsorship with a non existant yet scripted premise.

IMO, It was all a well thought out attempt on J & K's part to make JOn's former employer look like the 'bad guy', how dare he fire a father of two children with 6 more on the way. Thus instigating community sympathy for J & K and 'how will they ever be able to afford ALL those children'. The result. Donations, cash, gift cards, love offerings, home renovation, stollers, cribs, diapers, formula, groceries, college tuition etc... In typical J & K Gosselin fashion, they USE/EXPLOIT their children , even while in utero, as the means to justify their own end. It was much more 'ethical' in the eyes of Jon Gosselin's 'reality' to blame the loss of his employment on his six unborn children then 'man up' and accept accountability for his own irresponsible and self serving actions.

I haven't seen the PA state unemployment case files, but have a feeling that IF Jon had violated a company policy one time he would have been given a warning and not immediately fired. Had he been fired after the first time getting caught abusing his time while working my guess Jon would have won his claim. My assumptions have lead me to the conclusion that Jon had been warned multiple times for the same infraction before he was fired. After all, his employment history hasn't been the best and his history with this company is probably just an example of his employee history and habits.

I commend his past employer for remaining silent for 4+ years and when he finally spoke out it wasn't in a derogatory manner (as he could very well have done after the things J&K have said about him for years). Jon cost him a lot of money having to defend himself against an unemployment claim with no basis, he had to hire and train a new employee to replace Jon, not to mention the wasted hours and money he put into Jon's training and employment in the first place.

I hope others with a history/story to tell about their relationship w/J&K will be more willing to talk after seeing people will support them rather than retaliate. I hope this article is just the first of many to settle rumors/untruths about relationships and situations about which J&K have been less than forthcoming.

What an eye opener to read the comments under this article. I was reminded of little indoor dogs who get all hyper and yappy when the doorbell rings.(the article and GWOP being the doorbell if the posters over there can't figure it out)

The Gosselin "lovers" and defenders can rant and rave against opinions that differ from theirs but it would be interesting to hear what they have to say about the Gosselin's own promotional website which thanks to them, I checked out.

The Gosselin website section titled "LAUGHTER" is STILL under construction which really does make me laugh. By now wouldn't they have figured out something in the family that makes them all laugh besides belittling one another?

But my favorite was the section "DEVOTIONALS" where Kate stated her ambition for the year was to post at least 50 Bible verses that influenced her and the family. It's March and I think there are only 7 up there.

Here is my favorite comment under one of them:

"Right now, there are so many opportunities for us to repay evil with evil but we refuse. And it hasn't been easy to keep our mouths shut, but it's what God is asking us to do. Continue to overcome evil with good. Things like love, prayers, and kindness instead of retaliation and exposure."

Hasn't Kate mentioned "retaliaton" before after the Truth Breeds Hatred blog was published?

Oh - how I wish she wouldn't keep her mouth shut! How great would it be if Kate just let loose her "evil" and explained to everyone why she is so angry.

Perhaps if Kate is dealing with so much "evil" she should consider taking her family off television, away from the "evil" and concentrate of providing her 8 children with the best possible education available to them which would give them options in their futures. Temporary fame brought on by reality television is just that - temporary.

I agree. The 'new and improved' J & K website appropriately surfaced itself after the National Enquirer article and much blogger hoopla over their previous website that contained 'scandelous' information including J & K's 'prayer list'.
J & K's updated website was an attempt to appease their faithful fans and remove any traces of their previous website which contained information that could potentially fuel controversy. Comparing to the , per his request, of the disappearance of Jon's internet blogger comments.

Wow...just wow about the comments underneath the article. Isn't there anyone monitering what is said on there? Some of it is amusing...but some is just nasty beyond belief.

I just read some of the posts, and someone has used my name over there, as well. Ha! I was on an airplane, moving to another state when the comment that I just read was posted. I have not posted anything there!

Who are these crazy people? They are trying to make it look like all of the people who post here are posting over there.

I notice when there are any of these Gosselin articles good or bad that a lot of names of posters from here and at least two other non fan sites that get stolen and used by it appears to be people that want to try and discredit the posters at this site. I'm sure the mods at this site are aware of the 4 sites that sponsor threads mocking GWOP and I'm fairly sure those people are the name thieves. It gives them something to "chat" about the 10 crazy cat women on disability that post here. Very surreal. And talk about people that need lives.

Dani..,
Yes I have noticed how the 'fans' are trying to put down everyone on the commenting section. They are obsessed with GWOP. As I reminded them that they were generating more traffic to this site and thanked them.LOL.

Jon and Kate have created--and continue to create-- a record that discredits themselves. They are their own worst enemies, and all but the most fanatic followers will eventually figure them out. I think a lot of the craziness "over there" has to do with denial that the Gosselin house of cards is falling down.

What is really lame is that the "fans" never really defend Kate. Instead, they insult the heck out of the "Kate haters." It is incredibly weird and seems like the biggest waste of time in the world if you ask me. So someone disagrees with you. Does that make them mean-spirited, horrible people (and whatever else they say about GWoPers)? They are in rare form over on that comment page though. Creepy...

on the comment section of the article it has been proven to this reader that the kate fans are as delusional as kate is. i never knew how rabid her fans were tho. the j&k show attracts some real loonies.

I found this interesting (in addition to the rest of the article). As far as I can see this hasn't been mentioned yet (sorry if it was) but they registered the sixgosselins.com site BEFORE they were born? I know that seems like a minor detail but 1) it shows their intentions to exploit these babies, now children, from the minute they were born and 2) this was a high-risk pregnancy and anything could have happened to them, it could have been the fivegosselins.com, etc. Even people who are not superstitious would probably not jump the gun and make a web domain for their unborn litter of children. You worry and pray that they will be born healthy, not create a website!

Jen - exactly! and when your family website address is sixgosselins.com - wonder how the twins feel?
