The new buyer gets kates post it notes on how to run a household and probably tips on cutting coupons and making soup.

I had to laugh at the odds and ends left behind...
The notes all over the bathroom mirror and hair clips.
Children's table and chair off the bedroom.
Plant in the windowsill in the kitchen.
Are they hoping that some lucky fan will buy their teeny tiny old home and treasure these things?

I wonder if Kate left her broom and Jon left his balls?

Travis Noodle said...

Interesting...no picutres of the front of the house. Hmmmm...I wonder why.

Is $350,000 fair market value or are the Gimme Gimme Gosselins asking too much for the house?

Jen K said...

Contrary to what Jon said in the special where they moved to that house, the square footage is not 4000 square feet. In another listing I found online, they list the square footage as 2906 square feet.

http://www.weichert.com/23452250

To Kate's credit (can't BELIEVE I said that) she did make a comment during that show, "yeah, and you caught a fish THIS BIG too right?" meaning that she felt Jon was exaggerating about the footage of the new house.

Harriet said...

Interesting that they claim the family room in the basement but not the "attic bedroom" of the twins. How does geothermal heat work? I live in Florida and almost never need heat.

Didn't they pay a lot less than $350,000 for the house? New floors? I guess work had to been done on the house after they moved out.

Vicki said...

Zoey, If I was the seller asking 350K for a home, I'd clean my house up alot more. Wait, Kate could have the hired help do it. Guess she isn't home often enought to care about how it looks. She has new digs as far as the eye can see.

Jen said...

They paid $280,000 for it in March 2006.

It the Roloffs had it put in if you watched that episode. It depends it seems as though there are some differnet applications. All use the ground (soil) as an insulator to maintain heat.

I think they paid around 270 for that house a few years ago...i know they did put work into it but that is a huge increase especially in this real estate market!

The square footage discrepancy is probably because it does not count the finished basement because it is considered "below grade" living area.

That poor real estate agent is going to have so many looky loos trying to see that house!

Jen said...

Looks like my link to the Lancaster County site for info on the house didn't work.

Here is a shorter link:

http://gisweb1.co.lancaster.pa.us/aoweb/default.aspx

Just enter their last name for "Name" and it will come up. They click on the blue "1" and all the info will come up.

they paid 284 or the house was listed for 284 back in 2006..i live in etown..and that is a ridiculous amt. for that house...especially now in the slowing economy..there is not another house in this town listed for that price. housing around here is relatively unexpensive

Its A Good Thing said...

Im not sure if the stuff is left behind, perhaps its just odds and ends that didn't get packed?

I think they are asking too much, but what do I know? There are probably numerous sheeple that would buy this house simply because Kate lived there!

my9cats said...

Zillow has the house estimated at 227,500.
I suppose the high price is for the priviledge of living in the same house as the GOSSELINS. Wowee zowee. Not to worry. Some sheeple will pony up the bucks for it. Didn't notice any lights. Guess they're not included. LMAO at the notes. Is this supposed to remind the potential buyer just WHOSE house this is? Why don't the agents just show them the DVD's?

Question to anyone: Wouldn't someone with OCD go nuts leaving the house looking like that?

NOW, that makes it wierder!
It's like she's trying to PROVE they're Christians or something...
It's like Kate's thinkin:)--"let's leave our scripture verses so we can convince "those people", (non-fans), that we are Christians"
Just so Bizarre!!!

that does seem pretty overpriced, but i don't really know anything about the pa real estate market. in mi that wouldn't fly though. i wouldn't be that surprised if it sold for that though, there are some weird people out there who would probably buy it just because it was where the gosselin's lived.

and yeah, no pics of the front? that's strange to me.

Wow. Only $350,000! It always amazes me how much location plays into the cost of houses.

The photos on that posting are kind of odd. I've been involved in the selling/advertising for rent of a few places and the photographer makes sure to make the place look as clean and organised as they can in the photo. Things like the washer/dryer door being open, the notes, the coffee cup.... very different to a normal 'good' post.

The photos are odd, my family moved about a year ago and when we did our pictured everything had to be spic and span, nothing out and sunshine in the windows. lol, perhaps Kate thinks she is a big celebrity and her house will sell simply because its hers!

I think they left that stuff behind so that the future buyer, a sheeple, no doubt, will get a piece of "Kon history"...

They'll need "good luck" selling at that price. There are larger houses for sale in that neighborhood for less.

zoey said...

it sure looks like they picked up and left in a real hurry.
She forgot her bleach bottles and her vomitious spray bottle in the laundry room
and the childrens hair clips... thats an odd thing to leave behind i think they left real quick.

Buyer beware-remember those potties all over the house, full to the brim and emptied once nightly by Jon. I'll bet spillage went through to the floorboards.
The listing said they changed the carpet but the damage could have been deeper.

Zillow is a fairly accurate site, I am watching my local market pricing, our daughter is engaged and looking to buy a house. I am watching the market pretty closely and always look at Zillow.

Its A Good Thing said...

Ha! On the Zillow appraisal if you scroll all the way to the bottom it has a little map with all the houses and their values, and if Im correct in which house is theirs, their house if worth the least of all of them....... perhaps its the studio lighting or maybe Jon and Kate's bad rep!

Helen said...

So J&K are the current owners of the old house? I kind of thought TLC would buy it from them, fix it up (the lighting, shades on the windows, etc.) and sell it themselves. But you guys know a lot more than I do and I enjoying reading it! :)

Yes, Mandy, you're right. This isn't a very good set of photos, very strange that they're not professionally done...BUT WAIT! Could it be that the realtor(or owner) thinks that some fan will buy it at the inflated asking price? I mean, really, the photos could have been done in a way that you would not automatically recognize the rooms from the show--especially the kitchen.

Greedy little boogars!

There are rules about what can be considered a bedroom in real estate. I don't know the specifics, but I know that one is that it must have a closet. Since you have to go through the tups bedroom and closet to get to the twins room, it probably can't be considered a bedroom.

With the housing market the way it is, it could not have increased that much in value. Granted, they did create another bedroom and left the industrial washer and dryer (donated??). Hmm... but I'm no expert in real estate.

I thought that it was strange that they left the "carnival stands" on the back porch. I would have thought that they would have tried to sell them, with them being so important and all. Gag! cough!

I looked at it via the link. it totally creeps me out. Those bible verses on the mirror. It reminds me of something out of a horror movie. I expect to see Kate come out from behind a door with an axe or something. She's a creep and left her totally creepy energy behind. I would not live in that house for anything. There is evil lurking in it...

LordyBe said...

The problem with them asking the higher end of the stick for their house is that is most likely will not be appraised at that amount. Unless you have available cash in hand, no way is someone going to buy it.

I see a counter offer in the future. Lordy Be Katie Irene is going to have a coniption when she has to lower HER standards and the price of the home.

--------

I know here (canada) for a room to be considered a bedroom it must have a closet, a widow that opens, and an escape route from the window. So from an attic room it would need some sort of ladder or something. Oh and the window has to be a reasonable size.

Did anyone else see the dryer vent??? That would FAIL an inspection! Their maid must have had the day off, you would think that they would at least run a vacume before taking pictures. There was a house near me and they had dirty laundry in their pictures and their house was on the market for over a year and at the time homes in my area were sold in 12-14 hours. Lazy Lazy Lazy!

Sarah H. said...

While I was watching Mondays' episode I was amazed at how much space there really is in that house. Hannah & Leah's room was enormous!!! They could have easily put poor Alexis on the other side of the room instead of the basement!!! And really, if they were at all smart, they should have used the "little playroom" not only as Mady and Cara's homework room, but also as their interview room. I don't see why they 'needed' more space. And i'm sure a nice little addition off the back would have been just fine on their 1/3 of an acre.

Regardless of how much space the Gosselins had in their old house, it was never enough. The greed took a hold of them and off they went. I doubt they will be satisfied with the house they are in now for very long. Materialistic people like the Gosselins never are. They want bigger and better things.

What I don't understand is why would you want a huge house and land like their new one and never have your family over? I understand the privacy issue with the kids but they should have thought about that card a long time ago.

Where Is It From said...

I would love for Kate to tell us ALL her money saving techniques. If she isn't exploiting her kids where is the money coming from for the house? Clipping coupons? Buying bulk? Because even if the got $400,00 for this house that is no where near $1.3 million.

You never noticed the millions of sticky notes all over the house ?
They were either Bible verses or directions/guides for the multitudes of people helping them. Heck, Kate even had a sticky note telling Jon how to make her coffee !!

I think the pictures are very indicative of KON's attitude : use and abuse, then who cares ?
I wouldn't be surprised if they had TLC buy the house from them so they wouldn't have to be bothered with all the nitty gritty. Can you imagine closing on a house with those 2 losers ?

I'm confused. The listing I see has four bedrooms. The master, the two tup rooms, and the room on the first floor that Kate really never did anything with. The attic room isn't listed.

Not to sound too superstitious but seriously I would be creeped out to live in that house after them. I read where the owners before K&J were an older couple where the man died in the house (AH) and then the wife died in a car accident. Then throw in J&K and all the crap that's coming their way now thanks to their greed, etc..I don't know. Seeing it so empty with weird knick-knacks left behind just makes it that much creepy and eerie.

And both of them are totally high if they think they will sell that at that price. ITA with others that if you are gonna have the gonads to do that at least have some decent pics on the web.

I bet no matter who moves into their old house they will make a better neighbor! Really what must their neighbors think of Jon and Kate?

zoey said...

ok... if the room off the kitchen where twins do homework is the 5th bedroom.... why didnt Kon give that room to alexis instead of the basement so she wouldnt be segregated and the twins could do their homework in their room.. since tups are not allowed in the twins room without permission OR have the twins do homework in the basement.

I just scanned the real estate market in that area. Kate's house seems overpriced, the houses around the same price are mostly not brick but the interiors are greatly upgraded, improved landscaping and have been on the market quite a while. I can just hear Kate haggling with the real estate women over the price. It is so worth that much, we are celebrities people we pay to live here. If anyone buys it at that price will have to have a down payment to over compensate for the difference in the actual worth. No bank is going to loan more money than the appraisal no matter if Kate is a celebrity or not. LOL

Why else would they exclude a photo of the front of the house if it's not because they know the photo's they've posted will be recognized by anyone familiar with the show? So if anyone expresses interest as it's currently listed, it's very likely they know it belonged to the Gosselins. Yes, they're depending on the "celebrity" (gag) factor to get their inflated asking price.

I totally agree. They could have just added on to extend the kitchen and dining area, and probably even added on a room for the twins to get them out of the attic and they would have been set. The attic could then have been another play/homework room. I'm (completely) guesstimating an addition like that would cost between $40,000 and $60,000 and they still would have a huge backyard. Maybe I've just been watching too much HGTV lately, but that seems like a much more sensible thing to do in this economy than purchasing a million dollar home. But that's just me I guess :)

And I'm pretty sure that attic room doesn't actually count, somewhere on that website it only listed four bedrooms and not five (even though it does also say it's a five bedroom somewhere.)

Its A Good Thing said...

If only the walls good talk eh? Imagine what has been said in that house...... If we knew there would be no more KON.

I really think if they expect the celebrity factor to enter into the inflated price then they should show the front of the home on their site. That way all of the fans will recognize it as the former home of TLC's number one family. I am thinking of calling the realtor and ask them to explain the reason for a picture of the back of the home. I am someone who is always checking new homes on realtordotcom and have never seen anything like that before. Any realtors out there who may have had a request from a homeowner to have the front of the home omitted?

I also wonder what type of laundry facilities Kate has now that she was willing to leave her two sets of appliances.

June said...

Ok I have really thought about this and it is annoying me especially after seeing the dimensions of the rooms in that home. I get that there are ten people in their family but I really don't think they were hurting that much for "space" in that home.

It seems to me that that home would have been fine for a long time. The bedrooms are huge and there is the finished basement, huge laundry room and big yard. I guess I just find it odd that kate always bitched about "not having enough space"....

I wish she would have been honest and said that it just wasn't good enough for her anymore because she is a star. But to say there is not enough space in that home seems to be a huge exaggeration to me.

JuliaGoolia said...

IMO, I think Kate left the post-its on the mirror thinking that some person in a deep slump in life will read those and magically feel joy- "Thanks, Kate, you just helped my life!" Because we all know how much she feels that she has enriched so many lives. Her book had touched lives, the show has touched lives, her presence (at st. jude and elsewhere) has touched lives....she's just doing a service to the lowly commoners by leaving the post-its. When they first moved into the home a few years ago they gave the impression that they were cash strapped- I never thought that house was worth that much. I live in Michigan and they could have purchased a nice home in an affluent neighborhood for 350,000. Or a house comparable for 200,000. These two kill me, I can't watch the show anymore.

Kate leaves 2 sets of W/D but took the plastic white chair for the driveway. Go figure! LOL

I say offer it to the new neighbors and in time someone will see it is better to live near Aunt Jodi.

Certainly left their dignity and respect back at this house. Jon might want to search the house over once more, he may just find a spine and a set-both he could use with his wife.

I just checked out the photos. Is that a pen in the bathroom near the faucet? It looks like our gal Kate wrote the scriptures prior to taking the photos....why would someone do that? You think they were directed at us?

Sorry, but I only have a good old fashioned white Kenmore and dryer set.

If I bought that house, I'd take the Post-its, eBay them so some sheeple could spend a horrendously horrendous amount of money on them, and then donate the money to Paul Petersen OR the sextuplets' car fund (as long as Yawn and Hate couldn't access it.)

IReallyHateKateAlot said...

Now if Kate and Jon were as "Godly" as they'd like everyone to believe they would have given that big house to a family-in-need with lots of kids. With the economy in the tank I bet there are a lot of families in PA that could use a big huge house like that.

Or, Queen Kate could have held a raffle for it with St. Judes ya know cuz she's a giver not a taker.

skywatcher said...

Of course they left stuff behind. 1) They probably didn't do any of the packing (they're celebs now) 2) Don't need the low end table/chairs/plants/stools because they have a nice big furnished house (at least the pictures had furniture of the new house) 3) And, other posters are correct, some KON fan will be posting soon on that 'other' website that they toured, bid and/or purchased the house.

No place I know would get away calling that room that twins had as a bedroom. No one wants a "bedroom" that only has access via a closet of another bedroom. And looking at listings
$284,990
4 bd, 2/1 ba, 2949 sq.ft.,
Elizabethtown, PA 17022
They are definately over priced for bedrooms and square feet. No way do I want Katie Irene's evil vibes lurking in my home. Nightmares of potties reeking up the place and haunted laundry rooms of vomiting feverish toddler boys. Eeekkk.

One more TLC show.. "suckers buying the old home". I am serious about this! Damage control! Showing them selling the old house.
I have two kids (teens) and have 1800 sq ft. You make it work when you have too.. of course NO camera crew!!
They really did not have alot of furniture in the house!
Someone should tell them that having a mansion does not make you rich...I wonder if any of the notes had the word "love".
Well, Jon can go skateboarding "2 times a week"
Kate can milk people..
The kids can live everyday in the house!

Maria said...

They actually never really paid for any of the homes. The first one was purchased by Jon's dad.. updated by a make over show
The second,at the top of the market, was purchased with the profits of the first home....updated by TLC.
The third home is a studio set that was purchased by the show and will be utilized as such until the show ends and the KONS decide to buy it or go on their way to bigger and better.

It should come as no surprise they have no attachment to anything or anybody. Unless of course it provides them monetary gain.

This is the making of a classic American Tragedy.

That house was left in piggy condition. We sold our last home for much less than they want for that house, and we left it spotless. There was nothing left lying around. Our house sold in a week, I wonder how long this mess will be on the market.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

As for the overinflated price of the house and the 'less than perfect' pictures that most real estate agents demand, I truly believe that is all the work of the agent. The agent could have waited until EVERYTHING was gone and could have taken perfect pictures, but for whatever reason didn't. And usually it is the agent that jacks up the price of the house, knowing that most people will offer several thousand less. They jack up the price in the hopes that the lower offer will actually be the amount they want. So I'm blaming this on the agent. It will be interesting to see what the house sells for in the end, and WHEN it sells. I am in midwest Illinois and housing sales are almost at a standstill here.

Additionally in my market, common practice in the past seven months has been this: home buyers are severally low-balling their offers so sellers are listing high... generally everyone then ends up meeting in the middle. If the market was in better condition initial offers and negotiations would be more in the middle, but as for now both sides are starting at the extremes. IMO no one is expecting that amount for the house in the end.

Those pictures are ridiculous and I can't believe someone took pictures without vacuuming the floors. That is just completely unprofessional and a waste.

The interior photos don't show any of the good features of the home, but rather a mix of things left behind, (notes on mirrors, coffee cups, gallon of bleach, etc) AND a toilet that doesn't have the lid down.

It's details like this that will keep a buyer from wanting to make an appointment to view the home.

It is beyond weird to me that no pictures were of the front of the house, a view from the street. I work in real estate lending, and I have never known anyone to buy a house just by seeing what it looks like from the back?! I would also think that before the pictures were taken, the realtor could've taken ten seconds to pull the post-it notes off of the mirror. If they (Jon and Kate or the realtor) were honestly concerned in selling this house, it would've been cleaned and better quality pictures would be on the website. If nothing else, couldn't they have moved all of the "left behind" stuff in a big pile somewhere while the photos were taken? It didn't look too professional to me.

I about choked on my cereal this morning when i read this post......Are they seriously asking 350,000 for this home???? If you look at the homes listed around them in their neighborhood(220,000 - 265,000), its way off base. The celebrity factor has definately been added in.

No pic of the front?? Thats weird! I think what pissed me off the most is seeing the washer and dryers that were given to them included!! Would this be because they have a laundry service now??

It wouldn't surprise me if one of the sheeple purchase the house. What i would like to see is them give ALL of the profit, once they do sell it, to a charity.... besides... they don't really "need" that money do they, now that they are "financially set" and can afford a 1.3 million dollar Konpound??

Scoopdy said...

I also live in Michigan, and in the town I live in, 350,000 would be a fair price.

Sure, other houses may be selling for less, but they added bedrooms upstairs, put in almost all new flooring, all the walls are freshly painted, etc. The house is totally updated. I've seen a lot of "upscale" looking houses from the outside that turned out to be "duds" on the inside.

Plus, you know you won't find any crumbs in the dining room!

The washers/dryers alone would be worth over $5,000.

And let's not forget the range is brand new.

I still don't know how they could have complained about space. That house is huge. I grew up as one of 7 kids, plus parents, plus a dog in a ranch-style house that was 1200 square feet (with an unfinished basement that added a little more space) BOO HOO!

A little premature on the listing -
rushing the season. IMHO
A neighbors home sat for over a year because of being overpriced and greedy owners thinking it a castle, and that was in a good market period.

Crystal said...

Funny how Kate freaks out over the crew potentially bringing their “dirty-lees” in her house, but I guess it is okay for her to leave her house dirty for the new owners.

Since they left 2 sets of expensive, top-loading washer and dryers behind, I guess some appliance company “donated” them a butt-load of new washer and dryers (and probably not the “cheap” top-loading ones either) for their new big house. I am sure we will hear the name of the company during the upcoming episodes.

What was up with leaving the post-it-notes on the bathroom mirror?? I assume those are the bible verses Kate puts up to remind herself how she thinks she is a Christian. Or maybe, some of them are cleaning instructions for the new owner. The nerve of that woman…

Funny how she left the shelves Beth and she picked out during the Winter Organization episode. I wonder if they did that as kind of a slap-in-the-face at Beth for the time and effort she took to help Kate out.

Still not buying the excuse that they needed a bigger house. With 5 bedrooms you could put 2 to a room and it still be comfortable and not “crowded” as Kate says. Plus, given the lot size you could always add another bathroom, extend the kitchen, or finish the unfinished basement portion. Doing any or all of those is still considerably cheaper than buying a $1.1 million house.

Franny said...

What kind of idiot realtor posts pics that --a-- don't include a pic of the FRONT of the house, and --b-- have the bathroom pics in there with the toilet seat up and all the Bible-verse-stickies on the mirror??!

The washers/dryers merit 2 photos, but the master bedroom isn't even shown?

Has the realtor ever heard of "staging" a home to increase interest? At least pick up the empty plastic sacks on the floor of the laundry room.

I don't think the washing machines they left behind were donated. Or we would have heard about them before now. It would have been like when they got the piano. BUT I think its still wrong that they have them because the children's money was spent to buy them. Also what family of 10 needs 2 washers and dryers? Maybe its just where I live, but around here the average family size is 8, there are plenty with more and they have only 1 set of washers and dryers, and most of the time they aren't even new.

As for leaving two sets of top-of- the-line, relatively new washers and dryers--I can't understand it. To Kate's credit (can't BELIEVE I said that) she did make a comment during that show, "yeah, and you caught a fish THIS BIG too right?" meaning that she felt Jon was exaggerating about the footage of the new house.

I think it might add up to 4000 is the basement is included. In PA, you cannot count below ground level in a listing though. I'm not positive on this but, I know our home with the finished basement included is a lot more than without. Just a thought....

We recently sold a home and found the opposite to be true. I think agents realize what the market is like right now and just hope to make a commission. We were told if the price was inflated people would not even bother to look at the property. An agent would also realize the appraised value of the home and the fact that a lender would not provide a mortgage unless the buyer had a sizeable down payment.

I've been reading this blog for several months, but this is my first time posting here. Reading about the house, I just had to comment.

I live just over an hour away from this area, and the price is just way too high for central PA. Living in a cape, they actually have the smallest home in their neighborhood. The other homes are so much bigger (and I wonder why a cape style home was built in the middle of a neighborhood of large homes anyway?) and less expensive. If they wanted more space to live in, you don't need to spend 1.3 million in PA to get a lot of space.

Another thing - Kate goes on about being so poor and having to cut coupons. Guess what - most people who are tight on money need to get a buyer in place for their current home before they will even be considered for a mortgage on another home! They can't just buy another home while still owing on the current mortgage. So Kate, would you like to keep up the poor story, cause who will believe you now?

I wonder if Clarissa snuck in and wrote the bible verses, we all know that Kate is not that religious....or should I say she doesn't present herself as a God fearing Christian very well. Whoever wrote the verses left their pen on the sink so it was deliberate, not something left behind by accident.

To the poster who said the photos resembled a crime scene.....
IT IS A CRIME SCENE!!!
The crime of greed, exploitation, theft and abuse of small children.

Regarding the washer and dryers, of course they were donated!!! That's why they have two!!! If the company themselves didn't donate them, they had gift cards upon gift cards worth thousands of dollars and could have purchased them with those. Never in a million years would Kate buy something with her own money, let alone two!

I wonder how the previous owners of the house feel about selling their house to the greedy Gosselins who used it to exploit their own flesh and blood so their lazy a**ses wouldn't have to work again.

-----

If Im right, the previous owners both died and thats why the house was sold. The man died in the house and the woman in a car accident I think.

I don't think the washer and dryers were donated because we would have heard about them. They could have been purchased with gift cards but I do think Kate would spend money on them because after all she has buckets of exploitation money to spend. And they did buy a house, that I KNOW wasn't donated.

Kate probably wrote those because she thinks it makes her look good. She even talks about writing them and leaving them all over the house. She honestly thinks it makes her look like a good person.

Arieslikekate said...

Yep. those photos are disgraceful. Who would leave a house in that condition? Probably the movers or the staff from TLC packed and moved them.
I am sure that on a future episode, KATE will put her spin on this and talk about the "horrid" condition someone left her former house in.

I am sure this was just a "house" to them, not a "home" as their previous, smaller house was.

Lets hope that house stays on the market for a long long time while Jon and kate use their kids money to pay for Two Mortgages. possibly if you count UTAH

most people who are tight on money need to get a buyer in place for their current home before they will even be considered for a mortgage on another home! They can't just buy another home while still owing on the current mortgage

--------------------------

Great point. I don't think one even needs to be "tight" on money to be able to purchase a new home without having sold the old one first.

Maybe Kon should rent the house out, they could charge by the night to stay in "tup land". She could hand out papers on how to get around child labor laws, and charge an extra $100 dollars to put people on her Christmas Card list (that she would not write of course) and give out signed photo's of the kids for the low low price of $20 each. (GAG ME)

Sorry, I meant to say that one doesn't need to be "tight" on money to NOT be able to purchase a new home without having sold the old one first.

On one of their episodes, Jon and Kate both explained that they never intended to live in that house forever. That it was just a stopping point until they could SAVE enough money to build a bigger one. I believe it was on the episode where they were looking at the property.

if you lived in their home and had people walking up to your door and photographing your children in the front yard...you'd be afraid for their safety wouldn't you?

I would move to a large plot of land, have a gate and keep my kids in my big backyard.

Gosh, I would just, you know, stop exploiting my kids; the interest would die down pretty quickly and I could get on with my life and the kids could try to salvage what was left of their childhood.

I do think they need to stop, BUT I don't think that would derail any sheeple. They will always be obsessed and trying to find out anything they can.

About the Maytag Performance Series washer and dryer (two sets)...

Comments were made about the burgundy caddy convertible that was seen on Monday night's episode. People wondered if that was a shot of their new garage. Well their new place has an unattached three bay garage and the one shown in that episode had three bays. Also, the garage contained a boxspring, beanbag chair, dolly cart, boxes, etc. As if someone had just moved.

In that same garage was another identical Maytag Performance Series washer and dryer (behind who I assume was Jen Stocks the producer).

BTW, I would love to be surrounded by 20+ acres and not have to deal with neighbors. Neighbors suck. I would downsize to a smaller house, just to be free of them.

Really??? I love my neighbors! My husband and I were going to buy 7 acres last year (but got outbid by an all cash offer) and the only thing that we were sad about was leaving our neighbors. I gave my husband an OPEN sign for his shop this Christmas so that all our neighbors know when he is in the shop and before we know it we have 20 people in there. It's the best!

The asking price isn't bad for where I live, which is not PA. However, the interesting thing to me is how much more expensive their new house is. Even if the new house was bought below the original asking price, these people have certainly moved up. Not bad for two people with no jobs. Yep, the Beverly Hillbillies in PA. And yes, the photos are creepy.

Just looked at the pictures again to see the things other people pointed out that I missed and noticed that she left her precious kitchen island. Bet the new house has a permanent, huge island. She is so spoiled and does nothing to earn it. I hate people like that.

I'm ADD and OCD. There are several things that QKI does that would drive me totally over the edge. There's no way I'd have Post-It Sticky notes all over the bathroom mirror, all uneven - one edge curling up- not hanging even, or even the same colour ! ACK. TWITCH!
You can bet I'm not going to the website and looking and free range dust bunnies and a messy house.

Let me guess. In this new house they will build a pirate ship, old cowboy town, a trebuchet, grow a pumpkin patch, get lots of golf carts, and erect a big colorful sign that says, "Welcome to Gosselin Farms".

No photos of the front of the house, nice. How stupid do they think we are? Like no one can figure out whose house it is? Of course they can. The is no other explanation for that - how should I say this? - bizarre asking price.

abc said...

They did not need to sell the house (which I agree is 100k overpriced) because the new house is temporary and once the show's over so is the need for the house..IMO tlc purchased it.
It is nice to know they are probably upside down on the old house...therefore no equity.

I'm willing to bet that TLC will be decorating the new house...just like they did the Duggar's.

I think that will happen too. And Maddy spoke of a play house in the Soups episode.

I still wonder what Alexis was doing that she could not have been trained out of/reasoned with/taught not to do- so she could sleep upstairs with her sisters.

I still wonder why they didn't use the little playroom/Mady & Cara's school room as a bedroom for her if it was really that much of a problem. The realtors obviously count it as a bedroom, but Kate never has for some reason. When they first moved in, the tups were more easily contained, so I think she used that room as a giant playpen. She stuck the kids in there and hung out in the kitchen. Mady & Cara use it for homework, but that could have been set up somewhere else and Alexis could have been given the personal space she obviously needs. She was shown to be upset about someone sitting on her bed (aka futon) on movie night and yet also had to clean Hannah and Leah's room. How unfair.

NiteLite, those photos have been on GWOP since October, in the post "About the New House" near the top of the page. It contains links to all the same photos. I think (but not sure) that GWOP posted those photos before any other site.

Jodie, if you take a look at the pics of the new house it does have a great island in the kitchen. It also has what appears to be a double stove - definitely an eight burner top and what appears to be side by side ovens. Kate will be able to make enough soup to supply all the soup kitchens in Reading that feed the homeless. Yeah, right.

Oh, I am sorry for adding something that has already been here for a long time about the new house. I just found this website because I was curious if the old house had been sold yet and Gosselin's Without Pity came up on my Google search. Love all the information on here.
Thanks!

"Actually if you look at an air view of their home you would realize that there is no house or street behind them. They lived on a circular road (not a culdesac) and behind them is a park and then just land, and no more houses."

Looking at the map on the Zillow link, you can see that Brooklane Ct., with a cul-de-sac, is on the other side of the park behind the Andrews house. There's a house at the end of the cul-de-sac priced at $299,000 that looks bigger and also has a nice in-ground pool.

KON must be drowning in cash to have so little interest in how their house is marketed. They have moved onto bigger and better things. I would be mortified if this were my house. I'll bet these photos come down soon, the web page will be cleaned up. Once again, GWOP gives a heads up to KON about a problem. We know they read this site.

I am a r/e broker in the Midwest, and our MLS rules say the front elevation of the property MUST be first. I also would presume the realtor took the photos of the interior, shame on her. The photos suck big time. Come on, she could have staged things better than that, even with the clutter & odds and ends left. I have done it myself. Open toilet shot, got to luv it. Well, birds of a feather they say, this realtor and Kate. The agent had to know this is what we call a "notorious" listing, she should have known it would get even more attention. Perfect way to give yourself a bad name. Due to the notariety, it will likely sell fast. Some goof ball out there will buy it simply because it was KON's house.

Leaving 2 sets of front loaders behind, totally overkill. She could have given a set to her nice SIL Jodi or a needy family or homeless shelter, but no. Kate thinks it is a super selling point, given the photos of same. What good agent really skips photos of the living room but has the laundry equipment/room pictures?

Pricewise, it is hard to say, I do not know the area or state. The twins bedroom is a horrible setup, with the entrance thru the closet...never would I recommend that to families with children. That was a waste of money, whoever's money it was. Bet the new digs are paid for in full....will come out in the wash eventually, simply a matter of public record.

Oh Really said...

Hey, it appears that the old house is now being sold by a different real estate agent then was shown yesterday. Yesterday it was an older lady, and today it is a younger blond.... guess she was tired of dealing with KON!!

I know someone in real estate and I asked her about this house and she sent me this.

This house is listed as sold by Kate's mother (Charlene Kreider) as an estate executor of someone named Edith Keener who passed away. If Jon's father bought their first house, I would not be surprised if this sale was partly funded by Kate's family (regardless of how it looks on this form). At the height of when they were crying poor and asking for donations and love offerings, they somehow came up with 90,000 to put down on this house????? It says they took out a 30 year loan for the rest. I am no expert in interpreting this data, maybe some of you can help me out. Did they work the system again in this transaction?

If this house is in fact way overpriced as stated by people from the area, what in the world must that 1.3 million dollar house be like? If it four times the value of this very nice home they are selling, it must really be spectacular.
I guess now Kate will truly be satisfied and all her dreams will come true..."mine, mine, all mine."

Don't worry about all the junk/ clutter Kate left behind. It will be gone after the first sheeple tours the house. Latter that day it will be listed on Ebay for sale to all the sheeples. Someone (other than KON) is going to make some cash on Kate's junk.

I have a family of 7, and we have 2 washers and 2 dryers. It's just easier (not to mention quicker) to do laundry in two days this way then a number of loads every day of the week. Typically I do 14 loads of laundry a week, but when someone gets sick or if the kids were out playing in the snow/mud or had friends over to swim, it's more. However, I will be the first to stand on my soap box and declare that when I do my laundry, I actually do it. Not the neighbor next door or two towns away. I wash it, dry it, fold it, iron it, and put it all away. Imagine that!

And PS to Kate- There's this awesome invention called Shout stain remover (and many products similar to it). So I'm not buying your bullshit of 'hours of stain removal' each week. I've already got melted crayon out of an entire load of jeans by soaking them in shout for two days and washing as usual. Nice try though.

The info you've posted doesn't say Charlene. I think the Kreider in that is probably the daughter of the Keener's who were the previoud owners. They were a couple in their 70's and the husband died in the home and a few years later the wife died in a car accident.

From what I understand, Kreider is a fairly common name in PA. Could be someone completely unrelated to them or it could be a relative, who knows. But that info says, Phyllis Kreider, not Charlene.

Not trying to pick on it, because it's good info you found there! :) Down payment could have come as part of what they were paid for the hour special by TLC?

cantbelievethem said...

Jen...I caught that just after I sent it. Sorry! I feel like I asked my friend once before and Charlene was a name on there but that is not the case with this record. It definitely says Phyllis.

90,000 seems like an enormous amount of money for them at the time. I wonder if Kate's fam/Jon's estate was responsible for that money, since they still have a lot of money left over than they called "their money" that they didn't want to use on their kids.

Grifters through and through.
