I am definately watching this one! I can't wait to see their new mansion. I find it amazing that people with such little money have such a BIG house! Maybe her next book will be about how to con people out of money so that you can afford to buy a mansion! he,he!

kids that age don't really appreciate the value and ammenities that the house holds. It's just another home to them that they bought for their parents...they don't know that of course. I am glad they have more room, but seriously isn't it a little TOO BIG? It's just what Kate wants...her and her big ego! UGH! Makes me sick!

Is the above teaser from TLC? Who writes this crap?

Hard to imagine the "eager" little scamps are as enthused as their scheming parents about an over-mortgaged house meant to confer some elusive status to said parents.

How about this for a episode teaser---- "KON: the enthusiastic grifters who know the price of everything, and the value of nothing.

The episode descriptions are taken from the TLC website. You don't think we'd write that do you? :)

Hey everyone, I posted earlier, but have not gotten a response, but I was curious of where I can find the footage of the last house when they came home with the babies after they remodeled it...if anyone has a link, I would love to see it.
thanks!

Hmm... in this economy, while so many are struggling, it seems the Gosselins are not. I wonder what sort of effect this will have on their love offerings.

How is Kate going to be able to clean this new mansion? She is so exhausted from her job/life, you know! She obviously cannot trust a cleaning lady to do it for her, as evidenced on the show. Will she complain about how much work it is to keep up the house? Of course she will want to...this is Kate we're talking about! However, I don't think it will fly with the audience if she complains about how BIG the house is. I can't stand to watch her torture more cleaning ladies!

Molly, I don't have a link to their previous remodel, but it wasn't as much a remodel as a faux painting nightmare. I would have been horrified, and no I'm NOT kidding, the sink was faux painted with a ton of colorful crap (flowers? dustilies?) trailing over the edge into the sink. That is just for starters. It was honestly mortifying.

As to the NEW house, of course the kids will be excited! They be able to RUN. Have they ever played anywhere outside their DRIVEWAY?

The sad part is; they will now be even MORE removed from society. I know they take a lot of trips, but they don't have normal play dates, etc.

I wonder how Kate will deal with the mud which is CERTAINLY in abundance on their gigantic new abode. Maybe she will coat them in non-stick cooking spray? Swathe them in plastic wrap? Or perhaps just have them start doing their own laundry...they make their own money, it follows they do their own laundry?

Side note: over the holidays, I mentioned this show at a family get together. We'd talked about it the year before, and couldn't believe we were all huge fans! (Big family). Anyway; this year, everybody was like "meh, I'm over it" or "I can't BELIEVE the fancy trips they get for free" etc etc.
Not one person is in love with Kate anymore, many of my relatives once found her an inspiration...and now they find her the most controlling spoiled rotten condescending excuse for a mother. Just my observations.

Based on my life experience, kids do not care whether they live in a modest home or a 1.3 million dollar McMansion. kids want and need love and acceptance from their parents, siblings and extended family.
Obviously KON places a much higher value on material things. Perhaps this is the motive to "market" their young children in exchange for large sums of money.

Any new readers of the blog need to know Jon and Kate do not work. Jon recently discussed the "marketability" of his kids. I caution everyone not to be deceived by the PR spin they will roll out tonight. Yes, they have a PR consultant trying to do damage control.

Why is the size of the house such an issue? How about we ask these childless actors who have these huge million dollar homes and live alone (or maybe with a spouse) why they need such big homes?

Glenda said...

The little kids will love the house. I predict a MAJOR meltdown by Mady and maybe even Cara. I am definately going to watch but I may have a trashcan beside me in case I need to vomit.

Serena said...

Why is the size of the house such an issue?

Because the size of the house is directly proportional to the degree of child exploitation that earned the money to buy it.

How about we ask these childless actors who have these huge million dollar homes and live alone (or maybe with a spouse) why they need such big homes?

How about we ask those childless actors how many of their own children they exploited to earn the money for those huge million dollar homes? Or how many times they presented themselves as poor and struggling just before a church held a "love offering" to collect money to help buy their million dollar homes?

I think you answered your own question.

Obviously a childless actor is not selling their own children for profit.

Another answer to your question would be ... I guess the actor works for his/her money, Jon and Kate ride on their children's backs a reap the rewards and pay.

Hope you're satisfied with the answers.

It's a different world today then when they purchased that house in September or October. Is my timing right?

Fortunes have been lost -- non-profits are failing. Money is tight. Unemployment is up. The economy is down...

TLC -- is this the time for Queen Kate to be crowing? Do I vaguely hear her saying "let them eat cake."

I apologize in advance for my comment. I believe these parents are stealing money from their hard working children. I believe they make horrible decisions. I have my doubts of whether Jon and Kate are actually in love anymore. I think the show should be cancelled. BUT . . .
I am really looking forward to this episode. I stopped watching the new episodes quite some time ago (Heroes is on in it's timeslot). The reason I am looking forward to this is based on the look on Kate's face when she says the infamous line "All mine, as far as I can see." It's the look of relief, of knowing that things will be alright for them, just for a while. I started watching the show about the time of the 'tups' carnival birthday party, when things seemed just about normal. Kate was quirky and uptight, Jon was so laid back... But I didn't see anything wrong with what they were doing. Needless to say I do now, as do the rest of us. But imagine having a huge family because you don't believe in abortion. Imagine being scared to death of how you are going to make ends meet - buying food for 10 people, diapers, wipes, clothes, basketball shoes, lunchboxes, prom dresses. Then imagine getting (or making) the call from Figure 8 and jumping on the bandwagon of their freakish show list for just a little pay, just a little extra money to help make the ends meet, maybe getting a lifetime supply of Juicy Juice on the way. I really do believe they started the show with good intentions. I really do believe that. I think desperate parents do desperate things. Yes, they had college paid for, it appears their home was paid for, they had two good vehicles, but you still wonder how you're going to pay for the little special things. The new house is the culmination of their dreams of being able to provide for their children finally coming together. I repeat: THEY DID NOT GO ABOUT IT THE RIGHT WAY, and the ends do not justify the means, but it will still be just a little nice to see the relief on the faces of Yawn and Hate to know that they can provide for their children (with the help of $20 photos and presents from people around the world). I just think I would do whatever I could to provide for my son (including working 40+ hours at the hospital in my town, the key word being "working"), and I believe that's how it started out for the Gosselins, but things took a wrong turn at Albuquerque. I'm torn, obviously.

Sugarpop said...

It's been questioned how they will afford such a house after the gravy train rolls out, but I would be willing to bet this house is theirs free & clear with no mortgage. With Kate's obsession with "image" there's no way she's going to risk losing this place once she gets it! They've made more than enough money to pay for this place outright although I suspect TLC or Figure 8 probably paid for at least part of it.

It will still be expensive as far as taxes and upkeep, but I am sure money will continue to roll in from residuals and syndication rights, and I am certain Kate has plenty of money in the bank. She says some dumb things but I think she's greedy enough to make sure her "status" is ensured.

shelbysmom said...

I doubt the show will show all of the house only a few rooms. Most likely they will only have views that give the illision it is smaller than it really is. I would be suprised if they did an overhead view as seen on the internet. We all know the truth and hopefully people will pass that on to others.

Katie, I see what your point is and I understand it to a certain degree. However it's difficult for me to have any sympathy for that couple. You mention imagine being worried about how to feed a family of ten. You know Jon and Kate do have some education and have at one time been employed. It's do-able, you know a father and a mother both working. With Kate's job she was able to get shift-work, very do-able. Another point I'd like to make, Jon and Kate are lucky enough to have family. Families who do not live in poverty and have been willing to help this Gosselin family out. No, what I can't imagine is a single parent whose spouse has passed away, has little or no insurance has children and no
family or friends to help them.

What I can't imagine is families who have ill children, families who've lost their homes, families who've lost a spouse.

Nope, I feel zero sympathy for this couple, they could have had it all, family, friends, church and so-on. They chose to disgard that wonderful life so they could subject their children to a life-time of trauma.

Really shame on Mr and Mrs Jon Gosselin.

Lastly, my husband and I support our famliy of seven the old-fashioned way - we work!

Things will never be "alright for them" as long as they are exploiting their children. Getting a bigger house in a more isolated area is simply trading one set of problems for another while ignoring the huge gorilla in their midst.

Now, let me see some relief on the faces of those eight children when the show ends? Then I'll be thrilled.

My prediction is that Queen Kate will not allow the kids to play on grass or in the barn because they will get DIRTY (Heaven forbid!!).

Maybe she can have her expansive back yard paved to reduce the dirt to child ratio?

I just wonder what bank would lend these two money to buy this place? I mean did they really accumulate that much money in the last 3 years to pay cash for this property? They're income is not a secure bet because once the show ends, that will be the end of their gravy train and they may have to go out in the world and get real jobs. And their real jobs combinded probably won't produce enough income to make the payments, utilities, taxes, upkeep etc... on this McMansion.

Unless of course they think they'll be able to live off any royalties from the show. Hah. I read somewhere that some actor who was on a series got a royalty check from repeats on different networks and it was something like $13.

I wonder?!!
As we get older we begin to 'reflect' and realize how many 'things' we've done, or said, some good, some bad...and some things we wish we 'could take back' and re-do.

I wonder...
IF Kate ever goes for help...(I pray she does one day)..
IF, when she looks 'back' on how she treated and spoke to the children...
IF she will ever regret her actions/words???...I wonder,
IF, she looks back in 'regret'
IF she will have a difficult time "forgiving" herself...and as a result, 'punish' herself with self-harming ways....
IF she gets "help" and then does "reflect" back on her actions..I hope and pray she "finds forgiveness" from the children, from Jon, and then from herself"...
Then, have a "life-changing" attitude, ..and truly live a "Thankful" life..being blessed for everything she has, with her family, then, lastly , for her 'material blessings'.

Isnt' that what we all truly want for this family? For Kate/Jon to get 'help' and then 'love and protect' the children as God wants them too...As children are a blessing from God....then, as Kate especially, gets better, she will 'look' back and hopefully have proper counselling....as anyone who 'gets better' and looks back, usually regrets their actions...so, if she 'really see's herself' I pray someone will help her to forgive herself!
IF this was to ever occur..it would be a true miracle from God!!

I hope it does occur for the children's sake!

I don't see this addressed often on this blog but I've been wondering how the Gosselins are paying taxes on free trips and donated services/goods. Does anyone know if they are filing taxes for them? I’m asking because it’s obvious the Hawaii trip cost thousands and thousands (including food, clothes, beauty services, etc), free clothes and products and the income they make off selling pictures and love offerings, etc. So I have a hard time believing that they got away with that tax-free. I don’t think they are actually living in the new house tax-free, mortgage-free or lease-free (I don’t believe they own it outright) and they are probably paying something for it. I just don’t know how and I’m sending an email to TLC about that. However the IRS has a monetary limit on whether you have to pay taxes on something or not—this is available on their website. Just type in gift taxes and go to the second one on the search page. But why aren’t they auditing them, Figure 8 films or TLC? Even the lottery winners have to pay a gift tax on vehicles they brought for their families. I know this for a fact after reading an interview with a lottery winner some years ago---she had mentioned finding out that from her financial planner, I believe that she had to pay taxes on them because of how much they cost and were considered gifts.

I also found this on TLC’s website about people who are interested on appearing on one of their TV shows:

Disclaimer: Applicant agrees to pay all federal, state, and local taxes, including income, use or sales taxes or any other governmental charges imposed on prizes, including the value of any goods or services received and cash gifts, if any, given to me or received by me by reason of my participation in the program and I release and indemnify producer from any liability therefore. I also authorize producer to deduct or withhold any such taxes or charges that require a payment prior to delivery of said prizes, cash or gifts.

I’m not sure how it works but it seems this works two ways; you pay the taxes upfront or take out the taxes from the total cost of something they are about to receive. So when the Gosselins took that trip to Hawaii, how did they write off taxes for the expenses and gifts they received since they were the recipients? They would have to know the total cost of something in the first place then pay the taxes due on it. As far as I know, the hotel stay was donated so I doubt they had to pay taxes for that. How does the Gap and the Gosselins explain hundreds and hundreds worth of clothes donated to them on their tax forms? Babysitting services? This rubs me off in a sour way because I’ve had unpleasant experience with the IRS and I know they go over everything with a fine comb.

LB: Im not sure how the whole taxation thing works for them but here's my take on it:

I don't think they are paying taxes on picture sales because, as mentioned before, they specifically say CASH ONLY. I don't think they pay taxes on trips or items given to them because thats like a gift. I think they are paying taxes on the money they make from the episodes and the money from book sales and also any speaking engagements. There will be taxes paid on the new house but Im not sure Jon and Kate pay them, they may have worked some sort of deal out with TLC or Figure 8. Why would the IRS audit Jon and Kate, Figure 8, or TLC? Its different than the lottery, nearly everything Jon and Kate has is given to them so I don't think they would be required to pay taxes on it. However things that they do purchase, such as the blue van, Im sure they pay taxes on. I don't know how their disclaimer would work when the public sends gifts to them, or donates free stays. I don't think the Gosselins pay tax on their clothing, companies such as Gap have chosen the Gosselins to represent them so Im not sure how taxes would work on that.

Im sorry you had an unpleasant experience and as much as I dislike the Gosselins Im sure there is some sort of loop whole regarding taxes. There are other TV shows just like theirs (Duggars or Rollofs) so I think if there was a taxation problem the IRS would be involved with everyone and there would be no reality TV.

Tax Questions:
Generally when given something for "free" - raffle prizes, etc - the recipient is responsible for the taxes. They may not be paid for up front, they may be paid for by the company and a 1099 mailed to the recipient & the IRS. The recipient is then required to put this in the Tax Form as income.
Most likely the free trips & corporate gifts are being taxed somehow & the family is most likely receiving 1099s. If the items are given to the production company - then the production company will get the 1099.
They can't run from the IRS - no on can.

I am interested to see the show with the new house. I really cannot believe how these parents can continue to put their kids through this. My husband hated that I watched this show and he is the one who showed me this web site....reason #5,487 why I love him :)

I'm not a perfect parent...like Kate. There are moments when I lose my patience with my little ones but I always try to explain why and I ALWAYS apolgize. I have never heard this wench apologize ONCE to the kids and she is not very patient with them either.

I hope one day these kids will be able to have a normal life. Unfortunately, I think they are all (including Jon--cause he is more kid than man) following closely in Kate's footsteps and they will all grow up with a sense of entitlement. I wonder how they will adjust once all their free clothing and trips are gone.

As much as they love to 'give back' I wish they would have donated their old house or even raffled it off to someone less fortunate.

These people make me sick and I am glad I can see them for whatthey truly are.....

I think what most of you are missing is that the house, the trips, even the van are business expenses to the G's. They may be getting taxed on their income and the freebies but all of that will be deductible too. Since they use their house for filming, they will be able to deduct a certain percentage of their house expenses as a business expense. Same thing goes with the trips, they are being filmed and therefore a business expense.
I'm sure it's way more complicated that TLC and other companies handing them a 1099.

No tax for cash earned:

I didn’t think about the companies sending them the forms so someone could write them off. That might be plausible. Then it got to me thinking it must work like a yard sale; you buy something with cash and the seller probably does not report the monies earned at that sale. I think probably because there are no receipts, therefore they cannot prove how much was earned. But on the other hand, why am I still required to pay tax on a purchase from a business that is run on cash only? For example, some of the farmer’s markets or stands, I pay tax and they give me a receipt. If KON is earning cash at every church appearance, wouldn’t they have to report that? What if there was an IRS agent in the audience (lol). Especially, the reportedly 25K fee and the ‘love offerings’ they pick up per appearance. What’s the $20 for? They already have college funds from the state of PA. I’m not sure how everything fits if their reported earnings do not match with taxes paid for personal property (house & cars), deductible medical costs and cost of house payments because you usually get a refund based on how much taxes you paid for the prior year. Imagine putting on the forms that they were unemployed/self-employed (past tense) and putting down the amount paid for taxes. I bet they would be on opposite sides and someone had to be wondering how they are coming up with the money to pay taxes if it was a lot at the time. Why haven’t a red flag been risen? Remember when they brought a half-cow about a year ago when Jon was unemployed? I recall she said it cost $950.00? I just can’t see the farm giving that away for free because they’re self-employed and they are dependable on cash to survive. This all is just assumption but I would just like to have someone explain how they are not paying taxes on anything. The full spa services can be costly since she claims she goes once a month. I don’t even think they are paying for your normal everyday expenses and I’m pretty sure they are not paying for medical insurance either. They want to relate with the mass audience but they sure are doing a poor job of it.

-----

Well you have to pay tax a farmer's markets or stand because they are a registered business, if you bought the same items from a neighbor you wouldnt pay the neighbor tax because they don't own a business. Its hard to explain but Im sure if KON was doing something tax related that was illegal the authorities would be all over them.

Im already looking forward to the recap and the episode hasn't even aired! Im just wondering how you guys (everybody who has wrote one) write such funny and amazingly accurate recaps? Do you sit, watch a bit, write, watch a bit more and so on? Or do you take notes during the show? If you do watch the show numerous times I applaud you! You have way more strength than I do, after the first couple of minutes Im about ready to throw the remote! Anyways however you do they are great and I am eagerly awaiting this one!

I don't care how nosey I am, I refuse to spend another second of my time watching this trainwreck. I hope Kon consider this board as a message from God pointing out things they could have done differently. . .it is not too late to make positive changes in your children's lives. I am a Christian and I truly believe that God works in mysterious ways. . .

That said, they could have built an extension onto their previous house, paid the entire house off, and have no worries. . . Now they have that new huge mortgage and the mortgage on the new house to pay.

I don't think thats why they moved, Kate likes money and she likes to show she has money. So why not move into a McMansion? And as for Jodi and others not being around I really don't think Kate cares what people think about that, other wise she would have given some sort of explanation.

So do I, because after all the whole reason they were popular was because they related to so many people. They were just a big family trying to get by but now they have more money and things than any hard working normal people and I really think thats going to annoy the viewers. Especially all the people that helped them in the beginning.

I live in Berks County about 20 minutes from the new ESTATE. I must say I was surprised to find out they moved back to Berks county. Considering they have worn out their welcome, KON had to have had some other motives for moving back this way.

I happen to know some of their volunteers from the early years, believe me, what you see on TV is exactly how they are. I also happen to know some people who go to church with them. Their attitude of "entitlement" is exhausting. A friend of mine also works at one of the places Jon goes a couple of times a week. (I will not mention where this is in order to protect this person.) He's no different than the Mrs.

Remember, the Bible doesn't say Money is the root of all evil. It says "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil." Paste that note around your new house Kate, because clearly you weren't in churh for that sermon.

As has been said many times, How do

Eh, I was going to watch but I have no want to see the new house. I think I'll spend my time sitting in a white plastic chair tossing a tennis ball down my driveway for two labs. They could use the exercise. Think TLC will film it and cut me a check?

Do you know how much KON get per episode? If Lauren Conrad of the Hills gets 70k an episode, they probably make 10-20k, right?

I will not be watching the show tonight--and I haven't watched an episode for months. I just don't care, and J&K are too irritating and really boring. I saw a clip of Kate waving her arm in front of the window and saying,"Mine! It's all mine!" and wanted to throw something at my TV.

Alright, TLC, we get it. J&K's dream house and happily ever after...blah, blah, blah. Now please MOVE ON. The show has jumped the shark.

---------------------------------
The Duggar family received assistance and corporate sponsorships to complete the build and decorate that home. So I guess KON did learn from them. Also, the oldest received assistance to finance and hold his wedding.

In regards to the Roloffs, I remember in the early episodes Amy was constantly stressing about money and how to care for their four kids... we don't hear that anymore.

The G's aren't the only ones that have taken advantage of what a show on TLC can do.

I was watching the news with Katie Couric tonight and hearing about all of the people who lost their jobs today. Sickening. And then on a very superficial note, I noticed that Katie's new haircut looks very similar to Kate's! I couldn't believe it. It doesn't have the skunky stripes or the big scrub brush in the back, but it has that long look in the front and short in the back. Ick. Is this really becoming a popular look?

How is Kate going to be able to clean this new mansion? She is so exhausted from her job/life, you know! She obviously cannot trust a cleaning lady to do it for her, as evidenced on the show. Will she complain about how much work it is to keep up the house? Of course she will want to...this is Kate we're talking about! However, I don't think it will fly with the audience if she complains about how BIG the house is. I can't stand to watch her torture more cleaning ladies!
___
She may have "live in" help. After all, there is that nearly 1,000 square foot apartment above the garage. In addition, she will have numerous non live-in babysitters, errand runners, and personal assisants that we will never see. She does not have to settle for your basic neighborhood cleaning lady that many of us use. I bet TLC hired a cleaning crew to come in when she is not there to make the place spotless, catering to the bitch's every whim - if that's even possible. Bottom line - she is doing NOTHING herself. She will pretend she is knocking herself out, but its A BIG FAT LIE! KON are lying liars and confabulators!

lisak said...

I also think there will be a lot of explaining going on tonight about how they needed this house and how it is only for the sake of the children and so on. They have to cover their a$$ in front of the many sheeple who donate money.

gherkin said...

Maybe this has already been answered and I just haven't seen it, but do we know for sure if Jon and Kate actually paid for this house or did TLC pay for it and Jon and Kate will just live in it (with maybe an option to buy when--let's hope--someday the show ends)?

I'm sure there will be cleaning people on a regular basis provided by TLC that the show will pay for. There is no way Kate will be cleaning that huge house herself. She is never home anyway. She is always "working in NYC" or out on a speaking engagement somewhere and Jon is too busy working out or hanging out with his 15 year old buddies on the slopes.

"Mommy and Daddy need their own room and if you come in there will be severe punishment." OK I get we all need our own space but telling your kids that this is the last time you will set foot in here is a bit harsh. Many of my kids memories come from snuggling every now again with mom and dad when they didn't feel well, had a nightmare are or just needed a little one on one time.

I guess the old owners will be happy to hear Kate announce that they house was left so dirty. She is so self absorbed it m akes me ill.

What kind of parents forbid their children from entering their room? Sure, they need privacy, I agree with that. They can say the kids can't play or sleep in their room. But do they have to NEVER let them set foot in their room again? Aren't some of the best parent to kid moments spent just lying on mom and dad's bed talking?

Horrible people.

Not only will the little kids resent Hannah for having her own room, but you know that isn't going to sit well with Mady and Cara down the road either. They just have to tough it out on their own? How utterly and completely heartless and selfish. "Mommy and Daddy need privacy--we haven't had any in 4 years". Seriously Kate. Put her to bed earlier.

And any person who has ever dealt with kids knows that if you want to say something and have it be followed, you have to make the kids sit down in front of you, look them in the eyes and THEN make your "rule".

Tammy H. said...

As usual, in the first 5 minutes, Alexis asked Kate "Does it cost alot" and Kate said "YES, that's why mommy and daddy have to work everyday". When is Kate going to come clean and tell her kids THEY BOUGHT THE HOUSE!! Boy what a Christian example she sets for her kids! But atleast one day, they will see it for themselves. Oh yeah, Hannah gets her own room, surprise, surprise! But I did notice that at the first, Jon was talking about taking the kids to show them the house, and he said "after the house was purchased"....well, well, he actually didn't say "WE BOUGHT THE HOUSE", cause he knew he didn't. His kids and TLC did! AND HOW IN THE WORLD, COULD 2 PARENTS TELL THEIR CHILDREN "GET A GOOD LOOK AT THIS ROOM, IT'S MOMMY AND DADDY'S ROOM AND THIS IS THE LAST TIME YOU ALL WILL STEP FOOT IN IT OR THERE WILL BE SEVERE CONSEQUENCES! WE NEED OUR PRIVACY AND WE HAVEN'T HAD ANY IN 4 YEARS." How ridiculous to treat your kids that way, it's almost as if Kate wants them to fear her...she even MADE JON REINFORCE WHAT SHE SAID AFTER SHE BELITTLED HIM FOR THE 1000TH TIME. Kate is right back to her nitpicking him about his words and telling him what to do, the damage control didn't last long, did it?

I think it is disgusting that Jon and Kate are living off of their kids. That being said...

It is ridiculous to give Hannah her own room because she has "migraines" and gets woken up early. Migraines are hard to diagnose in adults, and even harder to diagnose in children. Also, the 'tups are going to school, so they would all have to wake up around the same time. I think the Mady and Cara should have been given separate rooms so they could express their personalities.

Also, it is absurd that Jon and Kate will NOT let their children into their room. I personally have a lot of memories snuggling with my parents, and these kids are going to miss out.

Also, in watching "Collin's pooping," I think it is horrible that Kate made her kids wait for Jon to come in so they could be wiped so Kate could clean "her" kitchen.

Jon talks about an "out building" and sounds like such a snob. Kate bitches about the fridge being filthy. Damn, can't she EVER be happy?

OMG!!! WTF Kate ? No yes I know kids can have migraines because i have suffered with them since I was a young child but how does that get you your own room? and then when MAddy was misbehaving and KICKING Lex did anyone else catch when she tattled that she said Maddy was spanking me? since when is kicking spanking and if they don't get spanked how did she know that term? and the fridge if we look at the one she has now whats to say we would find the same grossness!I have been a fan and defended them at times now I am done done done!

How do these sub-humans sleep at night? Hmmm, probably in a king-size bed with 800-count Egyptian cotton sheets. Oh yeah, and without any interruption by their children. Heck, I'd stay out if I knew "severeness" would follow. Um, WTH is that? Their children are young and need CLEARLY stated consequences.

Can't wait for the recap...this one was chock full of goodies :)

First off, I bet with all the complaining about cleaning the fridge, TLC probably hired professionals to come in a clean the rest...and has anyone ever noticed that if Jon reprimands the kids over hitting each other, Kate gives him down the road, but it's ok for her to let Mady kick Alexis and get away with it-Alexis told Kate about Mady kicking her and Kate's answer was "well, stay out of her room and you won't get hit." She is so unfair to some of the kids, it's pathetic and by this age, I know the tups' are picking up on the ways they are treated different (even Mady and Cara).
And when it comes to Jon and discipline-It's almost like she wants him to do punishments how she wants them done and when she wants it done and how she wants it done. But she definitely isn't fair, one day, if the kids are hitting each other, and they come and tell her...the naughty one is put in the corner and then they have to hug and kiss whichever child they hurt, guess she threw that rule out the window or it depends on which child it is. I think Kate's days are numbered and I can't wait for her huge EGO to burst!

So it comes to no surprise to all of us that Hannah has her own bedroom out of all the kids...of course the reason they give is that hannah gets migraines from the other kids waking her up. IMO if this was an issue, shouldn't they have put her in the basement instead of Alexis so she could get plenty of rest? I hope for Hannah's sake these headaches are an exaggeration and not a regular issue.

----

I found that odd because when they first told the kids they were moving it was Alexis who was suppose to have her own room.

Oh and Im sure your all aware of the saying give somebody enough rope and they will hang themselves? .....

Teaching her children to wipe their own butts and help reinforce it? Kate doesn't have time for that crap! (literally)

Okay, apparently I am not the only one who noticed that there is something wonky with Kate's face. Did she have a chew in?

Beth said...

This episode was just...horrible in every way. Every other sentence that came out of their mouths made me want to scream. Obnoxious...

The lecture about staying out of mom and dad's bedroom was just too much...I can't stand to think of one of those little kids sick or hurt and not able to go their parents out of fear of "severe punishment." That is terrible. Besides, they paid for that bedroom, so they should be allowed in anytime they please! ;)

MoldyFridge said...

How can 4, almost 5, year olds not know how to wipe their own butts? Not only is it pretty weird that J&K or Mady or Cara have to wipe the tups butts but what do they do at school?! I worked in a preschool last year and not one child had to have someone wipe them after going to the bathroom. I sincerely hope they teach them to do this before kindergarten!

And the fridge was not that dirty! 4 hours? Get real. The way she was describing it you would have thought the walls of the fridge were black and green with mold. When she showed the camera "the mold" I couldn't even see anything! Give me a break Kate!

Pattypanda said...

OMG could that woman be a bigger bitch. Privacy. Give me a break. You give up 95% of your privacy when you have little kids. She can even ruin a visit to a million dollar house. Shouldn't 4/12 year olds be able to wipe their own ass and wash their hands. I think it's something with today's parents. I know I wasn't wipping my son's butt at that age. Where the heck is the "nurse" in this woman that she can't teach her kids any independence.

Jen K said...

And to think...this is the way she acts and talks to people when she knows a camera is on her. I shudder to think what she's like on their "days off" from filming.

Who makes that big of a production about their bedroom. Grow up...seriously....she's so, "gimme, gimme, mine, mine". She should be bowing down and kissing the ground those kids walk on for what THEY just bought HER.

AtlantaGA said...

A lot of screaming, and ugly talk from her mouth. Big houses obviously don't make happy homes.

"of course the reason they give is that hannah gets migraines from the other kids waking her up."

IMO, the 'migraines' this 4 year old child suffers from more than likely are a result from over exposure to INDUSTRIAL LIGHTING since she was 15 months old.

Another thing, I was wondering why the house was already empty if Jon and Kate hadn't moved in, but now I realize its probably to allow time for TLC to come in and wire it for filming.

What on earth was up with that woman's face???

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed it! As I said earlier, it looks like Kate has gotten botox or something on her mouth because it looks puffy and like she has a frozen expression.

Its A Good Thing said...

I was looking at the photos of the house again and you know what? They never showed the pool, they didn't even talk about it. I wonder if they plan on never letting the sheeple know just how big that house is and all that it has????

ShisoandRice said...

Just in case you guys don't know, the new house was owned by an OB/GYN.
A Doctor!

So for Kate to complain that it's FILTHY is just horrendously horrendous, especially for a Nurse who left HER house filthy her own damn self.

Really this is enough! What can be done to get this show off the air? The message has to be sent that it is not entertainment to watch someone abuse their children and their husband. What can we do to end this show? Please, let's make this blogg productive!

This episode was so FULL of stuff that I seriously don't know how someone on the fence about these people can't at least get an uneasy feeling about what's going on here.

Believe me, last fall I was the biggest fan. But I started to get a strange feeling about these people and it's be reinforced little by little with each episode.

There is something seriously not right with this woman, and by extension, her husband. I know many of you have thought this since way back, maybe even back to their earliest days, but this is still only a few months old for me.

How a woman can talk to her children in that way for no reason other than to exert power over them and assert the need for "privacy" with a frickin CAMERA CREW in the room to document it (hello, who has privacy here? Not the kids!) is beyond me. Does she not even see the irony of that statement? Is she that clueless?

And the way she drags Jon in, makes him repeat what she said. Yeah, they better get those dogs fast, because at least one creature should be lower on Kate's totem pole than Jon for his own sake.

Beyond words....seriously, this is literally the beginning of the end of their ride. And it's all their own undoing. All they had to be was gracious and at least civil while the cameras were on and I would still be snowed.

This episode is the nail in the coffin of this show...

Jaded said...

This absolutely has got to be Kate at her worst. I never heard of a parent saying to her kids that even if they knock, they cannot enter their parents' bedroom. How did she put it? "Upon penalty of severeness." Spoken like the bona fide writer she prides herself on being.

And the amount of complaining! "This is so dirty! Look at the mold!" And when one of her kids was calling for her, she ran around screaming at the top of her lungs, "Who pooped!?!" Quite befitting for the Lady of the Manor. And when her kids told her where Joel was, she chose to continue to clean the refrigerator rather than haul her butt upstairs to find out what was going on.

And that crap about Leah gasping and saying thank you, mommy. Gee, I wonder why the camers were unable to capture that comment? Maybe because it never happened!

And what's the deal about Hannah having migraines because she needs more sleep? If in fact Hannah has migraines, and it's just not another load of kon crap, they have nothing to do with her waking up too early.

Did it ever dawn on Kate that maybe the reason the kids hit each other so much is because they keep seeing mommy decking daddy? Kate is vile and detestable, self-absorbed and entitled without an iota of self-awareness, and her husband is enabler extraordinaire!

Yes, they are messing with our heads, making drama that wouldn't be visble if it weren't for the internet....gotta hand it to J&K they know how to play the system...and the blogs, 15 yrs ago before the internet this show would have died a comfortable death after a single special....Si-ya-nora sisters, I'm done being played.....I am young enough to still be alive for the sequel to this trainwreck once it hits the shelves of a suburban Book Store 15 yrs after the fact....

One point three mill buys a filthy mansion that Kate has to spend hours cleaning? Yeah, sure. As soon as the cameras go off, the cleaning crew comes in, if not the new fridge delivery guys. Well, perhaps we are to feel sorry for them because they couldn't afford a NEW estate. And that bedroom scene was scary. I could just imagine Kate telling Jon to beat any kid who stepped on the threshold of the inner sanctum. Obviously the move hasn't made Kate a nicer, more grateful person. These people are beyond nuts.

Sheeeesh...do you think that the fridge might have been OFF and that is the reason for the mildew? She is so rude to act like the former owners were so terrible.

My GOD, what kind of person forbids their children from coming into their bedroom? Does she need a private place to berate Jon without interruption? I can't imagine much else would be going on in there. I am sure she has a calendar telling Jon which days they can have sex and exactly how it will be performed.

Wow
Yes I watched the show. What I cant get out of my head is the part about the kids cant go in kons room EVER again. Wow. Kudos to TLC as I wud have edited that part. Hanah getting her own room, I agree will only cause more trouble in the future, maybe her headaches are from the major lighting (for the show). So funny that they dont show a picture of the front of the house. My last beef, how long did the boys sit on a toilet waiting for help...But the fact Kate asked Cara to wipe one of them blew me away,,,,,so wrong in so many ways,,these kids are going to need so much help when the show ends. I just cant get over this show. Shame on you Jon, Kate, TLC and Figure 8 for using 8 kids to get rich.

Its A Good Thing said...

Its obvious that the previous owners knew it was Jon and Kate purchasing the house, if I were in the same spot I wouldn't have cleaned either. Because really no amount of cleaning would be good enough for Kate. When in all actuality she is not very clean..... she left a clogged toilet at her house for 4 hours at least. Thats gross, WAY grosser than a dirty fridge IMO.

there are two good things about this episode

OMG. If these people are watching this blog or if TLC cares about Kate's and Jon's bad press at all, it doesn't show in this episode. That woman is totally incapable of censoring herself!

I was disgusted by tonight's episode. So much so that I can hardly think to write this post. Where do I start?

Who believes that woman spent four hours on the refrig in the new house? Who buys that? I mean, yeah they probably stayed there a few hours, but 4?? And we all know her sighing is all fake, she won't be doing all the cleaning before they move in, I guaran-damn-tee it!

These kids have some real problems. Kicking, hitting, screaming little banshees....they act just like Kate so you can't really blame them. Poor little things. Kate tried to act like the one tup girl was so grateful about the house...but really, whose kid says "thank you" at that age just because mom and dad bought a huge new house? What must they have told those children to get that child to say that?

I cannot stand this witch. Scolding and correcting Jon again. The bit about "severe" punishment if the kids go into the parents' room. Running around yelling out about who went to the bathroom...the poor kid was afraid to say anything and no wonder...then she can't handle it and calls Jon in to wipe the child. Who then yells at his own son about using the girl's bathroom. My God, the little thing had to go! He probably was not even thinking about whose bathroom it was.

Oh my God. I could go on and on, this episode was Kate at her most un-fawking-believable. You can just tell she can't wait to move into this place so these poor kids won't bother her as much and they can be far from her. The only thing they mean to her is money. It's so sad. And so reprehensible of her as a parent.

This show really and truly disgusted me tonight and I hope that soon some laws are passed to protect children like these from what they are going through. But I'm afraid the damage is already done for some of them. Was that Mady who was kicking one of the little girls? Poor kids. Poor, poor little rich kids. I hope to God some of the money is still there when they are old enough to have it from this job of theirs.

Is Queen Kate the meanest woman in America? Even on the day she should be happy, she ruins everything wtih endless screaming, yelling, ridicule, complaining.

Queen in training Hannie is the only child worthy of her own room.
She gets migraines? And she is also a vomiter.
Leah has nightmares daily and is a vomiter.
Alexis is a disturber, I dont remember if she is a vomiter but i think all 3 girl tups do that.

She screams over and over again Joel needs wiped. How many ways can she humiliate this poor boy. Can you imaging the teasing at school.

There were no exterior shots of the house, the pool or the luxury features of the house.

I recently found this site and was appalled to find out the truth about this couple. I am watching the new house episode on tivo (for curiousity sake!) and am in shock. So, far, they have not shown the actual home, just views from room to room. I am a SAHM of four children and have a husband who works VERY HARD and I can only dream to have a home and land like that. I live in South Central PA and the home market is quite slow. I am a thrifty, sale shopping, coupon clipping mom of a husband who works more than full time and we still could not afford an estate like that. Who are they trying to kid?

My 28 year old was in my room this morning because she didn't feel well and wanted me to see if she had a fever. It was 6:00 a.m. and I checked her head and send her on her way. Having no privacy after kids is called BEING A PARENT!!!!!!!

kim said...

I think I can say I'm officially done with J&K. This episode made me furious. Parents do not need so much privacy that they ban their children from ever setting foot in their bedroom. What mother doesn't love to cuddle up with her kids and read a book in bed or watch cartoons? The main reason for buying such a big house was so she would never have to see or hear her children. These poor kids are going to be more abandoned than ever before. Kate is so full of herself she makes me sick. And what a shame to have such a big, beautiful home and not have any extended family or friends to share it with.

mommynMO said...

I wonder how Alexis feels after being told SHE was getting her own room, only to have it given to Hannah.

Also, does anyone else think that maybe the old owners knew how Kate is with all the cleaning and left the house dirty just to mess with her? cause I would have..lol

I typically dont comment on the show. As annoying as Kate has become I often watch to see what the kids are up to as they are so cute. I happened to watch the episode on the new house that aired on 1/26 and I beyond appalled. What drove me over the edge ? Kate. to hear a mother tell her children, her 4 year old children that they are never to enter their parents room made me angry.Telling the children who paid for the house that they will NEVER step foot in that room and need to stand in the doorway is the reason why I will never watch this show again. It didn't stop there. She berated her husband for not giving the same speech and then went off to clean the fridge for 4 hours refusing to break to wipe her kids that were in the bathroom. WHAT?!?!?!
I could go on on - the princess room for Hannie, and every other meltdown in the space of 30 minutes. Kate you really need a reality check - if Jon were smart he would kick you out and change the locks. Now thats a show I would love to watch.

This episode was awful on so many levels! It really makes me speechless!

I was a little fearful for the kids at the end. Jon was clearly irritated-why was he carrying the kids to the car? Kate refused to help and carry any. One of the girl tups thought it was funny to tease Aiden that she got picked up and he didnt. It broke my heart.
