Wondering when the producers will find their creativity again.

This episode will probably need to be retitled "Spin".

Sue said...

Wonder if they will answer any questions about Aunt Jodi.

Tammy H. said...

I bet they won't answer anything that we would of asked or that we would really love to know; especially about all the lies KON have told over the past year or so...it's probably going to be the same old stuff like the other FAQ episodes. I am going to watch this one! I thought TLC was kind of slacking off of J&K+8 but that's all that has been on since last night and all day today...oh well.

Misty said...

Gee let's ask all the same old questions and give the same old rehearsed answers so we don't have to show the new house just yet.

Yawn. Booooooooring.

Moi said...

It could be a good show if they would answer the questions that are asked and address the things that need to be addressed but I suspect they won't.

I doubt this episode is going to dive into any of the deep questions we really have. Instead, it will probably be those fluffy questions with the sugar-coated answers. I guess we will find out soon.

Allissa said...

I predict most questions will be from sheeple, asking KON to tell how they manage to do such a wonderful job. Yadda, yadda. There will probably be some damage control questions, which will make us all laugh. I am curious if they will touch on family/Beth/Jodi, etc. If they do, it will be Kate running her loud mouth and making it seem like all of these people "done her wrong". I wonder if they will announce any info about the "big move"? Well, I will wait to read about the show on here tomorrow. I refuse to watch again. I felt like I wanted to throw something at Kate(thus, breaking my tv) during last week's episode. Never again, but I will continue to contact sponsors on behalf of the kids. Sent one to P&G just now. Look forward to the recaps and posts! Thanks!

Based on the interview with Jon in Utah I have a feeling that this episode is set up to answer questions (or put spin) about issues that are brought up on GWOP and other blogs where people voice displeasure with the show. I'm going to guess that they will attempt to explain that their children AREN'T working - that they will talk about their GOOD relationship with the Carsons - they might not justify the "love offerings" but they will mention how much they GIVE TO OTHERS - and they will try to say in many different ways how happy their kids are.

It's just a hunch but given that that this episode was filmed before Jon was interviewed in Utah it kind of explains why his answers (as that wonderful interviewer led him down a path of no return!) seemed to be rehearsed to some degree.

On another note: for those of us who want the Gosselin children's privacy protected and the show taken off the air, remember that your letters of complaint to sponsors, TLC and Figure 8 Films do make a difference. K-Mart is considering employing Kate as a spokesperson - again - so don't forget to write to them and express your concern about the children.

Just another opportunity for Kate and Jon to lie, put out more spin, and degrade their children. The only question is which of the three will be dished out most.

Yeah, I said almost the exact same thing a good while back (someone took it offensive, but it wasn't meant the way they took it and I am sure you don't mean it that way either)...but everything KON dishes out, the sheeple eat it up...everything..I don't know what's wrong with these people, do they not see or are they just as heartless as KON?

JackfromNY said...

If there is any mention of Jodi/Beth, they'll probably just say something like they've been busy with their own families and J&K decided to give them a break from taking care of the kids so much.

Or something lame like that.

What happened to Jenni the TLC provided nanny?
She hasn't been seen since Hawaii???

Jenny was a local Etown area college girl. She graduated in May or June 2008. According to her Facebook page, she is in graduate school. She probably made some good money working for KON/TheFreakShowChannel for grad school and is now furthering her education. Good for her!

Pure damage control!! They created each and every question from this blog. But I AM NOT BUYING THEIR ANSWERS! How disingenuous. KON lies. They are lying liars now and will go to their graves as lying liars. They are despicable.

Tammy H. said...

OMG-I can't believe what Kate just said referring to the 1st question asked!! Someone asked "do you think your kids will not have a normal childhood due to the tv exposure?" SHE SAID..They are used to it, we wouldn't of been able to travel, blah, blah, blah and then she said, when it's all over, we will atleast have their college funds taken care of!" OMG-She has already lied...and then about the film crew getting their before they get up in the mornings...the crew answered by saying, sometimes the door is unlocked, so we go on in even when they are still in bed....HOW SAFE IS THIS?????...Remember Alexis sleeps downstairs (or she did) and sometimes kids get out of beds and there are bad people out in this world who could break in. AND THEN SOMEONE ASKED "will you buy them a car?"...Kate said, "no, they can get a job and buy one or they can share one!" Did she forget, they are the ones making the money, not her and JON!!!It's been 9 minutes and my blood pressure is sky high!! I don't know what else my heart can handle!!!!

Peg said...

5 minutes into it and I already had to turn it off. They are delusional. Damage control at it's best.

Diane said...

Kate said they will not buy them all cars when they are 18. Technically, the money with which Kate is "not" buying them cars belongs to the kids anyway and is definitely enough to provide each of them with their own car. Glad to see that J&K will gladly take all the perks from the show, but their kids will see none of it down the road.

Nellie's Mom said...

I don't know why I turn my TV to this show. Honestly, I think it's the train wreck/car crash state of mind-- it's so bad that you just have to look, and then once you see the grossness of it all, you're kicking yourself from looking in the first place.

Just ten minutes into this show and I want to crawl through my TV to scream at these idiots. Kate's comment about the kids having enough money for college when they are done with the show-- what crap. Didn't the State of PA already promise these kids an education? And what's this about making them get jobs? Sadly, these kids are already working. I don't know whether to pity the kids, or Kon.

Sorry. Had to vent. Thank you for listening people! =)

Janine said...

The sheeple are sending in video clips of themselves asking the questions! That's why they had to submit the waiver! Interesting to see who these sheeple are. Dumb a$$es. No offense to anybody here from the southern part of the U.S., but most of the sheeple seem to come from there.

I broke down and decided to watch, just to see if they answer anything worthwhile. Um, in regards to Kate, can we say SPRAY TAN? Either that or she's hitting up the tanning bed every day. How many moms of eight have time for either of those? I'm surprised Little Miss Superstar can be bothered to sit on the couch long enough to do the interview!

I loathe this show and these horrible people. They insist, the kids are fine, they will be POSITIVELY affected by all this. They will have college paid for at the end of this. They are so open and unafraid of other people.

Did it occur to these clowns that maybe the kids don't care about money? Did it occur to these clowns that their kids, wrongly so, don't get to make any decisions about all of this? Did it occur to them that maybe it's not such a good thing that they don't fear any kind of STRANGER???

_______________________________

Certainly not to defend Kate, but I think she scoffed when Jon said he still works out. She said he had missed 3 months. He claimed to only miss 1. November. I guess all that unpacking at the mansion left little time for the gym.

Also, I too was struck by Kate's comment that the kids would have to get a job to earn money for a car. Um, I thought this was their job.

How come when they asked the crew to give their favorite moments, we didn't see Jen's. Is the producer not considered part of the crew?

Yes, Twinkle, I seem to be understanding much more now. A couple of the camera crew, are absolutely adorable... Kate's tolerance of these people is now easily understood! "Don't come beyond the kithcen island." Yea, right!

Hearing Kate's comment about how one day the kids will be glad their college is paid for spurred me to write. One of my roommates in college came from a very wealthy family, and knowing her just showed me that kids (of all ages) care more about love/attention than money. Yes, her parents totally paid for her tuition and gave her plenty of "fun money". However, they spent much of their time traveling, leaving roommate/siblings with nannies. Roommate still resents her parents from spending so much time away from her...something tells me the Gosselin kids will feel similarly.

So it showed the preview for the new house. It is that huge house that was posted way back in october. I think this show is ending soon, after people see that house. I'm already pissed about it. Why can't they donate that money to homeless people? God knows there are plenty of them.

Madeline said...

I thought this was interesting. I liked how this time we got some of the crew talking about the things. Also; is it just me, or did the little kids, in many of the more recent clips, seem more mature and coherent then we usually see? I noticed there didn't have to be captions in most of them...

I was surprised she let Jon say Hannie had an attitude. Actually it sounded like it was the easiest one for him

ilovesteven said...

Kate got on my nerves so bad when she was making fun of Jon was messing up when he said "amplified". Yes, he did mess it up. No, it was not necessary to give him such a hard time. She shouldn't hold other people to such standards of perfection if she's not willing to be held to the same standards. And she knows this as well as we do, she's far from perfect.

Also, I was appalled by their answer to the exploitation question. Basically they just said the kids were used to it, got to travel, and would have college paid for. But they didn't answer the question! Forgive me if I'm wrong, but their life IS NOT NORMAL! The cameras are there "3 days a week" [to quote Kate] and the kids are filmed (and televised) in various stages of nudity. That's not normal. The cameras go on vacations and day trips. That's not normal. There are people out there who know every available detail about the kids. That's not normal.

I think Jon and Kate honestly see nothing wrong with what they're doing. Their issue is one of priorities. Just because they're all "used to" the cameras by now doesn't mean that their presence is normal or healthy.

Did you notice when she was babbling her lies that she was fiddling with the fringe of the throw? Classic lying behavior.

I laughed when they responded to the question about the girls being involved in sports and they chose the sports we've seen them do on outings or traveling. I don't think that was what they meant.

Really shameful.

Sophia said...

Jon and Kate have rationalized everything that they are doing. If they truly believe what they are saying, they are in for a rude awakening. I think because the kids seem happy now, Jon and Kate think that everything is great with them. They're kids, of course they like going to fun places and getting lots of toys. And they may think it's normal now to be on tv but they won't always, not as they get older. I think the kids seem so well-adjusted to their current situation because it's pretty much all they've known. I don't think they'll be so well-adjusted when they are old enough to fully understand everything. It doesn't seem like Jon and Kate are thinking about the long term effects of a public childhood.

On a completely different note, was it just me that was annoyed with Kate's book discussion? She totally thinks that she wrote a book. Newsflash Kate: Beth wrote the book, your 2nd book seems like it's going to be more of a scrapbook than an actual piece of written work, and the cookbook of "adapted" recipes that I'm sure is coming does not qualify you as a writer.

Lynn said...

What about the comment that when the kids are all out of the house Kon hopes to travel. Aren't they doing that now?

Harriet said...

Kate, IMO, has illusions and delusions. She thinks she's smart, she thinks she's a celebrity, and she thinks she controls how long the gravy train runs. I for one am looking forward to the day she has eight Mady and Caras on her hands. Mady knew by the end of kindergarten that things were rotten and Cara wasn't long after. As soon as the tups start getting teased at school and see how other children live and are treated, Kate is going to be in a world of hurt trying to keep up any appearance of a healthy, happy family. It's going to be dysfunction at every junction.

I would like to know what is so wrong about the kids getting jobs and learning how to be responsible with their money

Two points on this question: since we often emulate our parents what line of work should these children follow. Stay at home parents, nurse, IT tech, TV reality show stars? Will they feel a need to work?
Since all this is done for the children would it not be reasonable to expect J&K to hold some back for them.

About the comment about the kids being able to choose whether to be filmed. I noticed that too. How does a 4.5 year old exercise that option exactly?

"No mom, I'm not interested in being filmed today, you guys go on to Chocolate World without me, and I'll just hang here at home..."

These kids have no choices and J and K must think the general public is pretty stupid to believe otherwise. Let's just say that ALL 8 kids decided that on a pre-scheduled shoot day that they didn't want to be filmed. Can J and K honestly say that they would send everyone home?

The family's livelihood is completely DEPENDENT on the kids going along with whatever is asked of them. No kids, no check.

Sophia said...

I'm not sure I believe Kate when she said that the kids don't have to be a part of any "shoot" that they don't want to. She is referring to their lives as shoots? Really? Kate stated that they could go to their friends house (I'm assuming she just meant Mady and Kara). I can't recall an episode where one of the kids was not there and involved in the scheduled activity because they opted out.

On Oprah today, in a segment with Usher, he said something that made me think of Jon and Kate. When you do something repeatedly, that is who you are. I know a lot of the supporters make excuses for Jon and Kate's behavior. And while I'm sure some incidents can be excused away, when we've seen the same behavior and actions for four seasons, you can't excuse away everything. Jon and Kate have definitely shown who they are through their repeated actions.

Yeah, because the ONLY two choices in life are to exploit your kids or have your home foreclosed and stand in line at the Salvation Army.

The tups have had jobs since they were 18 mos. old.

About the comment about the kids being able to choose whether to be filmed. I noticed that too. How does a 4.5 year old exercise that option exactly?

That was such bull. Yeah, Mady could have opted out of "Mady's Day" and then the episode would have been... um... and they could have opted not to be dragged all over the country on any of the outings, they just had to speak up and say "no"... LIARS.

Aunty K.K. said...

Was it just me or did K/J begin to answer most of the questions, but as they got half-way through their first sentences, they went way off topic....or else they avoided the DIRECT question and stated something 'not relevant'???

For ex. what does your family do together for fun? Movie night...then instead of saying, Playing together/cooking/crafts, etc..(which normal families would say), they went on to talk about ALL their trips....
Then, with 'sports', they began with saying , Cara is in soccer, (but it's winter folks),,and then talked about spa's and such..
ANd then.....it just continued that way the whole time.

Then what really got me...Kate and Jon couldn't even tell us what "tups" were right and left handed...and they could HARDLY mention one good/bad habit for each child....this just proves OTHERS look after their children...they could only say, oh, their 'cute', loud, sneaky, instigator, etc...I know TONS more with the children I look after once every 2 weeks!! Never mind my "Godchildren". They mainly 'joked' with these questions...I was looking forward to hearing the "good qualities" of each child..but it was like they took the 'shows that we know' and took comments from them to let us know the 'good/bad' qualities..

That's what mostly stuck out for me in this show....Of course, no hard questions...but you know..THEY work! They sure emphasized that part!

I'm ending for now!! It's enough1

"How 'normal' busy parents schedule in snowboarding"
"What effects?"
"Ask someone else. I've been in New York all month"
"Sheeple will gobble anything"

"Every child is basically difficult and basically exhausting...and no, they have not gotten easier"

Omg these people are such liars. and they come across as stupid as well. Oh yes the girls are in sports. Mady is in clay, spas, and beaches?

Cara quit the piano after four lessons? Was that due to lack of encouragement, or she was not given enough time to practice due to filming.

When asked what they would do when the kids were off to college, did you hear Jon first say, "No comment", with a big smirk on his face, and then say he would go with them. I don't think Kate had a clue.

Favorite things to do with the kids? All Jon came up with was movie night. Kate just mentioned all the trips they took, and parks they visited.

To the person who asked what Kate did besides eat salads to lose weight...the treadmill.

Yes, that was my first thought. But you know, sometimes those tanning bed/spray tan jobs just make people look "dirty." She looks like she needs a good scrub in the tub!

Ok, while I think it's absurd to speak of the children having to get jobs after they've been working for 14-16 years if they want to get a car, let's look at logistics of the situation.

1. If they have to get a job to earn a car, then they will have to be dropped off and picked up every time they have to work.

2. Since it would be practically impossible for Jon and Kate to do all that dropping off and picking up, they would have to hire drivers/nannies/taxis to cart those kids around.

3. Since the property they purchased is far enough out in the boonies that it isn't exactly on anyone's regular route, it is unlikely friends and co-workers will be willing to constantly bus those kids all over creation.

4. The idea of all those kids working to earn money in addition to the jobs which they've unwittingly been forced to perform, especially when their only role models are people who have absolutely no work ethic, is laughable.

What bothered me the most was they have bought a 1.3 million dollar home, a new vacation home in Utah, money for the spa, golfing, etc...and they haven't put enough money away yet for the kids college educations? That should have been first on the list. I think it speaks volumes about where their priorities are at this time.

So, does this mean Jon lied during the Utah interview> He specifically said they weren't out buying new cars and they still had the "big blue bus" and white van. Can Jon and Kate tell the truth about anything? They are such LIARS!

I would like to know what is so wrong about the kids getting jobs and learning how to be responsible with their money

Two points on this question: since we often emulate our parents what line of work should these children follow. Stay at home parents, nurse, IT tech, TV reality show stars? Will they feel a need to work?
Since all this is done for the children would it not be reasonable to expect J&K to hold some back for them.

...What? If Paris Hilton didn't recieve any kind of inheritance people would cheer, but if J&K don't buy their kids a car it's an outrage? Why hate J&K on their potentially somewhat decent/normal decisions for their fam?

And that other point... think about it in the 8's POV - Mum and Dad leave the house to speak and do interviews and whatever. They take lots of photos. They have cameras around. The 8 probably DO think their parents are working (whether they are or not is not what I'm getting at here, mind you) and yeah, Cara and Mady might think they're famous (I doubt the 6 do - was it Leonardo DiCaprio's young niece who was surprised to see him in a magazine like a "real famous person"?). So with your logic, yes, right now the 8 probably do think when you're old you have to work and they'll work when they grow up.

Paris Hilton didn't work, her inheritance is really an inheritance of money her folks made. The money made from J and K + 8 was made by the entire family, and the kids worked for it and earned it. Some of it shoud be theres. Not just all of it go to the parents.

After following this blog for months I've finally been compelled to post.

Did anybody else catch a remark about Mady's singing when they were discussing the musical instruments? Jon made a comment about how she could sing pretty well, and Kate immediately jumps in and says something along the lines of "We're not talking about her singing" in a snotty voice. She cannot say anything positive about that poor girl, it makes me so sad. Did anybody else catch that or did I hear incorrectly?

A cadillac??!! It's a vintage convertible?! OMG! This is the kid's money! What LIARS!!!! And Jon said in Utah, "We're not buying cars or anything." They bought that car with the "love offering" and $20 photo purchase money, no doubt. What excuse can the sheeple find for this??? This car is just so Jon can ride around in it and show off to the 15 year olds (his peer group!). This is vile and disgusting and I hope these upcoming shows with the new house and these frivolous purchases will knock some sense into these "dumb ass" (as one poster stated earler) sheeple. Yes, they are nothing more than dumb asses! Sorry for the rant, but this makes my blood boil.

Why are they still talking about college, as if they can't afford it? They're making money from the show, appearances, books, etc. in addition to all of the perks that they are getting for free. Enough about college already.

Also, Kate made a comment about cars for 8 kids. Like it would be too expensive to even consider buying cars for that many kids. Most everyone knows that they aren't the struggling family (not even close) anymore. They just make themselves look like fools and liars when they talk about having to be able to "afford" anything.

Ok, Im not going to nit pick except for the fact that it was easier for them to say their dislikes about children than it was for them to say what they liked about them, thats very sad.

Also, Im sorry but those kids whine and cry way more than my VERY difficult 4yo son (a month older than the tups) Even Cara and Mady, I think they need to express themselves in a better way and they need to keep their hands to themselves my goodness they hit a lot, they need to be taught just just sent to time out.

NOW I still honestly say that the kids are cute. I LOVE Joels "we made it" at the top of the lighthouse, hes so cute.
Alexis is soo spunky and I think her smile is amazing!

I have MANY nice things to say about ALL the kids, I cant believe their "parents" are soo quick to point out the negatives, makes me sad for them.

Now that they have showed the previews for "The New House" episode, it looks like they filmed the promo's on their new estate grounds. The ones where they walk down the hill and the kids are swinging.
It would make sense, now that they don't have Bob & Beth's house to take over for such things.

Also, did anyone notice right at the beginning of that promo you catch a glimpse of a yellow lab puppy right behind one of the boys (cannot tell which one)while he is catching leaves? Wonder if that is one of the 2 dogs Jon said they have now. I feel sorry for it if it does anything to mess up Queen Kate's new Kon-Kingdom

I wanted to reach through the TV and strangle Kate when she was discussing their "work lives". I use to sort of admire Jon and Kate for working during the first few episodes and raising 8 kids. At least they've given up the charade that they have jobs outside the show these days. Take the show away, and they'd have no job, according to the words that Kate spewed from her mouth. It sounds sooooo hard, Kate, to talk on the phone/interview/etc. Your mouth must be exhausted at the end of the day...

Interestingly enough, when the show ends, I wonder if Kate will fall back on nursing...at least her nursing license is active through October of this year. Someone should keep an eye on whether or not she renews her license...here's the website to check: http://www.licensepa.state.pa.us/Search.aspx

I knew it would be that way as Jon said it was all about answers you wanted to know about Jon and Kate.. until Kate pointed out "and the kids". Really? J&K think we want to watch them while they ignore their babies for a buck?

I honestly do not know if its good for my health to watch this crappe anymore. I still feel ill almost 4 hours later. Yeah, J&K I'm just jealous.... that I can't sell out my 5 kids for a buck and be hateful to my husband and have sheeple... yeah that must be it.

I didn't want to know any of the answers to any of the questions asked.

Junk as usual.

When they were discussing how hard their "work" was, funny how none of them have thought how their children are enduring just as much.

I also thought that Kate's answer was the antithesis of Jon's explanation of how they live their lives and it's just "filmed".

Emily Tolliver said...

Same ole junk.

Did you like the question, "Which of the Gosselines will have the most teenage drama?" And Kate answers "me...I will." UMM NO! Thanks for always turning the question onto yourself, but we wanted to know about the kids. Geesh...

Then the last question, "When the kids are gone and in college we want to _______" Jon says, "I cant answer that question." Thats cause he couldnt say DIVORCE KATE!!! Then he gets immature and says he wants to visit them all in college. We all know Jon is such a child at heart, but when Collin is all grown up and partyin' he wont want Mommy telling him to take off his shoes in his own dorm.

Do they know that you don't have to buy a new car for a new driver? The kids could share one or two used cars and get along fine. They could even start out with whatever car/van the family owns at the time, although the driving test is much easier with a "normal" size car.

However, their auto insurance bill, once all 8 kids are driving, won't be pretty.

This was just bizarre:

"Would you NAME each child and then say one way that each child is EASY to parent and one way that makes it HARD to parent each child?"

Yawn starts laughing, then covering his ugly face he falls into Take's legs as she starts laughing and bends over into Jon's back.

The big "HA HA" is that Yawn has started to answer the question and only gets as far as "Well, I could NAME them all...?"; sort of like a question instead of an answer. But he cannot control himself he's laughing so hard, and Take is laughing almost as hard.

It is OBVIOUS to me that KON is sharing a private joke. The "joke" is that Yawn can NAME all the children, but they haven't spent enough TIME WITH THE KIDS for a long while, to be able to answer a detailed question about PARENTING their own children.

These two ignoramouses are so dumb; unfortunately for them, they have sorely underestimated US.

Well! Gag me with a spoon.

Kate’s body language on the couch was one of the most striking things about this show. Her body was almost always turned away from Jon, never touching his. She seemed to crumple up, hugging the arm of the chair. The last few episodes have all been the same. I’ll bet when this program ends, so goes the marriage. (If Jon’s smart, he’ll see it coming and plan accordingly now, but he isn't and he won't.) That whole renewal-vow-ceremony thingy in Hawaii made me think of the celebrity interviews where the celeb carries on and on about how fabulous and wonderful their marriage is and then a month later you hear they’ve announced their divorce.

One of the video questions came from a woman wondering how they got the kids to comply so easily with the time-outs. Would J&K reveal the secret behind the high level of compliance with time-outs? Nope. No mention of the fact they spank their children, just a bunch of vague blah blah blahs.

As usual, nothing they say adds up. Kate establishes that they are filmed on average three days a week. (I’ll bet that’s a low number since they’ve previously claimed 3 to 4.) Then there’s a question about what all they do with the kids. Between the two of them, they had trouble coming up with anything. Let’s see ... Kate begins by saying they do everything together. Specifics were a little harder to come by but there was the movie night on Fridays, dinners where they catch up on the day, and ... and ... and .. finally Jon remembers travel (with great relief) and last year’s four big vacations. Later in the program, Kate’s tees off on a comment about how no one thinks they work, when in fact this is the most they’ve ever worked–-at least forty hours a week for each of them with show-related issues, and that doesn’t even count writing the books, book tours and signing events, speaking events, etc., etc. And then they discuss how Kate schedules in a monthly(?) spa treatment with Jon asserting that he’s decided to now begin scheduling at least two days of snowboarding a week, until spring when he’ll golf instead. Hello!!?!! The numbers do not add up. There are not enough hours in the day. If any of this is to be believed, they have very little time to actually see their children outside of the shoots.

And where’s the time for Kate to grocery shop and prepare meals, which the show again makes a big deal of? No mention here of the chef or other help. And the footage shown of Kate grocery shopping was filmed some time ago because her hairdo was the old (better-looking) one.

Did you catch the answer to the question about whether they were thinking about adopting or having more kids? First it was “no way” followed by a confused mish-mash of answers ending with “nobody knows”. Wow. Frightening.

Just another tiresome/predictable pack of obfuscations, omissions, and lies. Par for the course.

As usual, it was one of the most UNATTRACTIVE clips of Maddy.

Please tell me Take didn't say she was coming to HAWAII again... I'm afraid she got a very distorted view of how newcomers and some tourists are treated. After all, KON was doing a free "commercial" for the places involved in their Hawaii trip and phony vow renewal, and she had her "people" (hahahahaha!) with her.

The kids will buy their own cars. When they turn 18 their money (from the show) will be theirs. Even if the parents put a stipulation on it saying they cannot get it until they are 21, the kids can go to the attorneys (bank?) and ask for some money early. My friends daughter just did this. She turned 18 and the money is hers but cannot touch till she is 21. She asked to take money out for school and a car to go back and forth to school. They gave her the money because they were valid reasons. So those kids will buy their own cars whether Kate likes it or not!
Everytime Kate answered a question to a touchy subject, she played with the fringe on the blanket. Subconscious showing that she is lying? Maybe.

My daughter is 16 and works a part time job. We live in Kentucky, we have state laws that say she can only work so many hours a week and only ao many of those hours can be on a school day. During school year she works 1 or 2 days average, and she isn't woke up by a film crew at the crack of dawn. So for kon to admit 3 or 4 days a week is horrible, not to mention they play with the truth so I am sure it is more than that. To me this show did nothing to control damage only cause more, to see just how much equipment and people invade these childrens private home space.

They don't know if the kids are right or left handed. This speaks
volumes to me. The least being they have never sat and colored with the kids or they would know.

Kate with her MY book this and MY book and how it touched so many people BS. She acts like she wrote how to cure cancer. I am surprised that throw didn't go up in flames, with every MY book lie told she about pulled that sucker threadless. And the new PICTURE BOOK with bible quotes. Did she re-write the Bible?

I don't know how even the sheeple can think it is ok they way they mock and make fun of their children. Kate thinks she is so cute and funny"gag".

I do not think any 16 year old should be given a new car. However, the children have already earned enough for a car and insurance and college. Also I think Kon should have that estate planner back and re-do a few things. Have him meet with they children and their lawyer and decide how much of their money you should get at say 60 or 65.

Thanks for the vent.

What I loved about this episode is the crew comments, especially the one that confirmed what we have said for ages- Joel is neglected and needs love. One crew member said "Joel is out there" and he is our favorite.
At that point I started talking to the TV - "yea, his mother ignores, rejects, mistreats him, his father loves him but ridicules him".
We have seen many scenes of Joel interacting with the crew and he seemed real close to Scott. Scott was not in the crew that did this episode and I felt bad for Joel. The poor kid needs all the love he can get.

I caught that as well when jon was asked when the kids move out to college he will do ?? and he said he couldn't answer that with a huge smirk. What made that even better was that kate was totally oblivious. Serioulsy with them (jon) buying that condo in Utah and the interview there where he said he could relate so well to all the other ski bums who are younger, it doesn't seem that far-fetched that joke E soup did on the show "jon minus 9" might happen someday. Not that I blame him but IMHO he's not much better then kate. Plus could you imagine kate as a divorced ex? She would be bad-mouthing her kids dad left and right.

Like others have posted I just feel for the kids. It's not their fault mommy and daddy are such users and have got their own head shoved up their rear-end. Reading other stuff about them even before the show it sounded like their sense of "entitlement" was already there, the show and everything else has just blown it up.

Count me in as not seeing this show go past another year. Really that HUGE house and both of their attitudes (mainly kate's) are so nasty, why in the world would anyone buy this line of BS them and the show are hurling at people. I'll just love to see if they dare do another Q&A and the justification of that huge house. I'm from Iowa and the McCaughey septuplets did get a new house when they had their kids. It was about the size of J&K FIRST house we saw. And as far as I know they're still living there with EIGHT children. Funny how J&K need all that "space" while others can function a lot better without it. Must be the non-intrusive, family-like camera crews that are filming non-stop.

I thought it looked like the vintage car was stored at someplace where they went to get their picture taken -- probably as part of a set for someone else. I doubt that they would have footage of the new house mixed in with this episode since they aren't doing the big house reveal until next week.

And in regards to the kids having to get jobs to buy their own cars, I could see that. Even if there are accounts set up for the kids that have tons of money in them, I don't think a 16 year old should be able to go and pick out whatever car they want until they can prove that they are responsible. One way to do that is by getting a real job where you actually have to do more than wait for the cameras to show up so you can be cute on your free vacation.

Jon's behavior during the couch interviews, per the new season, is extremely off putting. He gives off this very unattractive immature , arrogant spoiled brat 'so what if I do' vibe. There is something suspiciously creepy about his demeanor. The couch interview must have been filmed post cocktail hour as J & K both appeared inebriated.
With all the helpers and camera/production crew that surround J & K on a daily basis, would someone please remind J & K that they HAVE a TOTAL of 8 children and not 6 ; and the tups are not BABIES (or 2-3) they are almost FIVE years old !!!!!!!
I think its safe to say that HUMBLE PIE will NOT be a recipe featured in Kate's up coming cook book.

Why is J&K talking about college money? Didnt the tups get free college the minute they were born? Why wasnt this brought up at all. Why didnt the interviewer or the sheeple ask this question? These kids dont need money for college because it is already paid for by the citizens of PA.

As for the picture of the cadillac. Do not expect the sheeple to be even be remotely upset. They are more of a supporter of KON now than ever. They actually think that the way she treats her children is admirable. Sic, Sic, Sic.

J&K could be arrested for fraud, have child abuse and animal abuse charges against them and push an old woman down the stairs and the sheeple will still be rallying around them.

So stop the work. Live on what you have.
I was a single parent and unfortunately, I couldn't pay for my kids college. They worked and saved their money, took out loans, which they were able pay back. And guess what? They never thought twice about any of it and all three of my kids turned out great! Responsible, caring, secure, etc, etc.
It can be done. Given how we did it or ruining my kids childhoods, guess which one most (normal) people would choose?!
At least later the kids would be of a legal age to work.

Any way we can get a picture of the new cadillac vintage convertible and post it on GWOP?

Okay gang, if this is a Gosselin vehicle Jon clearly did NOT lie. He said he wasn't driving a Porsche hehe this looked like a Cadillac LOL.

It does speak of how J&K misrepresent the truth. He was trying to say he wasn't buying cars and wasting the money on himself. That part is NOT true. However he did not have a Porsche, that part is true.

Serena said...

And in regards to the kids having to get jobs to buy their own cars, I could see that.

They already HAVE jobs. The tups have been working since they were 18 months old. Anyone who thinks it's not working should listen to Kate spout off about how terribly, horrendously difficult it is to be filmed constantly. I think having access to their earned money to buy cars is the least they can get to compensate for their stolen childhoods.

Oh, but that would mean that the money they earned will actually be available to them some day... never mind...

Serena said...

As much as I would like to know this myself, they are not required to tell us. Its really non of our business and if they want to keep that private good for them!

If only they felt that same sense of propriety where the kids' privacy is concerned... we don't really need to know about Collin's bowel needing manual extraction or see Mady's unfortunate dental problems, yet there they are splattered in all their glory worldwide. Yeah, "good for them".

Melissa Gentry said...

Aaron, a fan are you? Good for you? Why come to this site then? No matter how you gloss over it, the Gosselins are white trash making a living off their children and if you think that is okay, well, then you need to take a deeper look at your morals.

Yikes on that hair and that tan. It is obvious that Kate does not have or will not listen to any stylists.

This show was just one more example of them thumbing their noses at their critics. Showing a little glimpse of that classic car also screams "screw you all".

Just my humble opinion.

Since I stopped watching this months ago, I frequently forget the show even exists. When my memory is jogged, I check the cable guide for the one-sentence episode description, say "What a crock" and blow it off. And, since Jack Bauer and "24" are back, the Gosselins will get creamed. Just like "Travis Noodle" said. I can hear the "24" clock counting down how much time Jon and Kate's show has left to run.

Who does Kate think she is? There she is sitting on the couch in the new house looking like Posh Spice's knock off American cousin, not knowing which of her kids are right and left handed? She and Jon (with his tight, tight, botox face and hair garden) couldn't tell the viewers one challenging and one easy thing about parenting each child? They are so dumb, who screens these shows before they are shown? "Spa" is not a sport. This is the same woman who thought fiddler crabs in NC grew up to be Alaskan King crabs and washed her kids scrape off in salt water. How can this show remain popular?

MichelleS said...

Well after reading the blog, i had to watch..lol I dont like how fake her tan looks. She looks orange not tan. And the super chunky highlights? Jon was awfully sarcastic, they both were. I thought wow, how nice of them to use that demeanor answering their fans questions.
What truly shocked me was that i could actually agree with Kate on one thing: when asked if it were harder or easier as the kids got older, her answer was physically easier, mentally harder..i agree. i have 4 kids, very true.
I wonder what Jon meant when he said he couldnt answer about what they would do when the kids move out? I thought actually for some reason he was meaning some 'alone' time with Kate-hey you never know! Thats going to be the only time it will work for me and my man..lol
No worries though, i sound like i have a change of heart about KON but i dont. I still shook my head at the episode and the things that were said. And what the heck kind of ugly ass car do they own now? I caught a glimpse, but yuck!

I know this is off topic...

But some of you bring up Kates nursing license and wonders why she is gets grossed out by vomit etc and that she is not nurturing. Well, did it ever occur to anyone that the reasons she may have wanted to become a nurse was not for the fact of taking care of people but because Kate is very materialistic and she probably thought that becoming a nurse would have her be in a hospital with wealthy men. Becoming a nurse was based on how she could better herself financially rather than being a caretaker. Her chances of dating or marrying a rich doctor is higher in the nursing profession.

Just a thought.

I don't remember Kate ever saying she bribes the kids to be filmed. Can you please tell me which episode? I remember her saying she bribes them to sit well in church and that kind of stuff but never about being in a shoot.

Season 4, Episode 16, "Good Housekeeping Photo Shoot", first aired October 6, 2008. Kate talks about how difficult it was to film for the episode because it was beastly hot and the kids had to wear sweaters and pose outdoors for extended periods of time, and then continue with more shooting in hot clothes under hot lights after their naps... so she bribed them with chocolate to get them to cooperate. (Didn't work too well.)

But it's all just the kids leading their lives and the cameras just happen to be lurking in the background to capture all the spontaneous moments of their carefree lives.

Serena said...

Actually, and I just saw this episode a little while ago, Kate says she bribed them for the PHOTO SHOOT, not to be filmed.

They were filming the photo shoot. The bribe was for them to participate in the photo shoot so it could be filmed for the episode.

The entire episode was a lame attempt to quiet negative publicity while throwing in a plug for the next "book". After watching this, do they really believe we're saying, "oh okay, we were wrong that you are exploiting the kids." Quite the opposite. It's even more apparent now, if that is possible.

Oh yeah Kate, give the hour, shoot you could do a whole season of answers to "misconceptions" about your show. Start with the truth.

I recently read a book called "The Anatomy of Peace" and its called my attention to the fact the its not worth it (to hate JandK) anymore. I dont like the way they parent and treat each other but it boils down to the fact that it really only hurts me and my life if I sit around all day reading the hundreds of other haters posts. I do think we have villanized Jon and Kate big time. I think my 12 year old daughter summed it up best last night after the show when she said, "It just dosent entertain me like it used to." I agree and am now done with the hate and the show.

I will watch the episode again, and if it is there (Im not saying its not, I just didn't see it) so what? If they purchased it so what? It doesn't mean that they money came from the money the kids are making for the TV show, Jon and Kate also have two books and numerous speaking engagements. Or perhaps the car came from Jon's father when he passed and we never saw it until now because it had been in storage or something. Its wrong to jump to conclusions about a car, nobody really knows (except for J&K) where the car came from.

______________________________

Yes Jon and Kate do have two books out. However, would they be able to even have these books if it weren't for their children? Would we even know who Jon and Kate Gosselin were if it weren't for them having sextuplets and twins? They used their children to publish two books. Notice I did not say write two books because they didn't do much writing, Beth did. EVERYTHING the J&K have including: money, a million dollar home, a Condo in Utah, numerous vacations, and their television show on T.L.C. came from their children!

Kate has discovered that she has become a fabulous writer (snicker). She is so delusional. Beth wrote the book, Kate lived it. That has been said over and over. Kate doesn't realize you need to have a brain to write a book. But it's probably her lack of a brain that makes her think that she is actuall capable of doing it. She not smart enough to knkow shes "limited". She said she's finished a 2nd book which is a bunch of pictures of her kids with (in her own words) some journally things written under the pictures. She could probably publish a dictionary filled with words she's make up along the way like "journally".

Now that we have caught up I can't imagine having a spa day. Much less go have a spa day and then call all the relatives who helped us and brag about it. I know my family wouldn't begrudge it but it just seems selfish.

Kate has got to be the most selfish greedy person on tv. Any extra money they have they should be giving to charitable organizations. These two KON's were on tv for years crying hard times and now after hitting the lottery they have left all those who have helped them in the dust.

KON-tradictions abound! So the crew says it's not fake, they don't do "do-overs" yet they have footage of the kids saying the "on this episode" line over and over.

How awful was it for Kate to say that a kid has the right to not be on camera - yet there's still footage of the child saying they don't want to be on camera. Is anything sacred for these poor children?

I had such high hopes for this episode when the first question came up (something about what kind of affect the show will have on the kids). But then they just brushed it off and talked about their trips and then went on to answer really lame questions for the rest of the hour.

BTW, maybe it's just me, but I don't remember that much from being the age the tups are now. J&K talk about how they're creating all these great memories for the kids of all the trips they took. But are they really going to remember a trip they took when they were 3 years old?

It boggles my mind when people talk about taking 3 year olds to Disney world, like will they really remember that trip at all when they get older?

The kids will buy their own cars. When they turn 18 their money (from the show) will be theirs. Even if the parents put a stipulation on it saying they cannot get it until they are 21, the kids can go to the attorneys (bank?) and ask for some money early. My friends daughter just did this. She turned 18 and the money is hers but cannot touch till she is 21. She asked to take money out for school and a car to go back and forth to school. They gave her the money because they were valid reasons. So those kids will buy their own cars whether Kate likes it or not!

This is simply incorrect, Heidi. Your reasoning assumes that there was a trust established for the children. There is no proof of that.

I think I remember that they set up trusts for the kids to pay for college - correct me if I'm wrong but that means there was money for college way back when

Their "will" stipulated that their estate would go to the kids that graduated from college, I am assuming upon death. If a particular child had not finished college, then they would receive their share at age 30, I believe.

No particular talk about how college would be paid.

BUT the children (at least the tups) have had college accounts set up for them by the LT.Gov of PA - since their first birthday. I assuming since PA 529 accounts have converted to Upromise, that they can ONLY be used for college, meaning Jon and kate can not use the money at their discretion.

Besides being vague and planting the seeds in people's minds about 8 college tuitions is sure to compell people to dig deeper.

Maybe if the economy doesn't improve, I see the price of those photos going up to $25 a pop.

Not to mention.... there is Jon and kate's retirement that still needs to be funded.

Things I noticed: First, the commercial for the new house....Kate standing in her new kitchen looking out the window "This is ALL MINE, as far as I can see!" All yours, Kate? I thought this move was for the family.

Secondly: Although Collin's dance was super cute, it's slightly disturbing that a favorite clip is of the boys BEING YELLED AT while in their UNDERWEAR! ....and "Joel is my favorite" clip shows him saying "my pants are falling down!" ...pervs.

KON seemed slightly defensive while answering the "controversial" questions. "The kids love being filmed, their lives are so enriched by it". . . right, more like YOUR life is made RICH by it.

I also had to laugh when Kate said how much she loves for others to have her book in their hands (duh, "your" book in their hands means their money in your pocket!)

If the kids aren't filmed when they don't want to be filmed WHY is Joels BEING FILMED as he's standing there saying "I don't want to do it"...?

Then we have handsome sound guy saying how his favorite is Alexis...many cute shots of her... but just to make sure she doesn't look TOO angelic, (can't make Hannie seem less perfect, right?) They add plenty of clips of Lex screaming and whining and sitting in time out.

Why should Jon and Kate have to live on pennies when they have the money!?

Because as moral human beings, as "Christians" - they have an obligation to repay debts.

How do you know that they aren't giving back?

Because they haven't filmed it. Jon and Kate don't do anything - especially something that would show them in a positive light or gain sympathy without a camera.

Saying that the kids aren't bothered by the cameras does not excuse the fact that those poor children have had cameras, microphones, and bright lights in their faces since before they could walk and talk. At no time were they given the choice of deciding whether or not they wanted to live in a spotlight as they grew. Jon and Kate saw using their children as a means to an end, took it, and will milk it for all it's worth as long as it's worth.

What makes you think that any money from this show has been put in trust funds for the kids? Based on the spending we've seen from KON, I don't think they are setting aside any money specifically in each child's name. Maybe they have college funds set up but I doubt they consider any of this money to be the kids.

I don't remember Kate ever saying she bribes the kids to be filmed. Can you please tell me which episode?

I absolutely recall her saying it. It had to do with giving them the "organic lollipops" and other candy when they behave during filming, photo shoots, etc.

This episode was the complete opposite of the title. It was essentially telling us nothing that we really wanted to know. Had they even addressed one difficult question or given one tidbit of information that we didn't already know, I'd have more respect for them.

The two of them are idiots. How anyone can sit there with that striped and scruffy hair and fake tan and think it makes them look good is beyond me. I find it hard to believe no one has told Kate how ridiculous she looks. And Jon is just immature and unmotivated. Do they not see how the show portrays them negatively especially with the editing? And they are OK with that? Like I said.........idiots. I feel so sorry for those kids.
