Making the Rounds

What is this, the third or fourth television program Jon and Kate have been featured on in the past week or two? They better hope they don't suffer overexposure.

Classic.

I love it!! Once you are made fun of on The Soup, there's no hope you... haha.

The only thing is, I don't think it was THAT negative...I think people who haven't watched the show may do so now out of curiosity, which I suspect was the whole point of putting them on Talk Soup. Way too convenient it was done coinciding with all of the other media attention and book release.

I've been waiting months for Joel McHale to feature Jon and Kate, it's about time!!! I bet Kate is blaming Jon in some way. I can't wait to see Chelsea Handler of "Chelsea, Lately" and Kathy Griffin pick up on Jon and Kate or Jon Minus Nine. Too funny!!!!
He says 8 kids are easy, but not the wife!!!!! No kidding!!!!

They are just jumping on the bandwagon, just like 'sheeple'!

Jon? David Buck WAS or IS the VP of Marketing?

Hilarious clip. Why, oh why, does Kate insist on correcting Jon's grammar? Does this woman have a superiority complex? She seems to excude the message "I'm better than you" which is probably why so many viewers find her irritating (in and of herself--aside from the exploitation of the kids).
And isn't this the same woman who chastised on camera for always interrupting HER?

Anonymous said...

Okay, that is flat out hilarious!

Anonymous said...

Priceless!! I was wondering when The Soup or Best Week Ever would make fun of them!!

babeeberry said...

I honestly think this is the beginning of Kate's public downfall. Imo we will be seeing more and more comedians poking fun at her which will hopefully make her "supporters" stop and think. I hope The Soup features clips like these every week...YEAH JOEL McHale!!

Awesome!

I guess "going to the ends of the earth" for one's children means putting up with stuff like this. But then again, we're talking about a guy who feels totally self righteous about have a house given to him for his family.
It's such a shame that Jon is like this. I'm guessing he was spoiled growing up and doesn't mind being a taker.
I wonder how the family would be financially getting by if the show never existed? Think for a moment. I can't understand why J&K don't do as many shows, just enough, to have a cushy lifestyle? It's a shame they have to get more and more greedy. IMO, the house they live in now is not too small.
Will Kon ever be happy?

Anonymous said...

Way to go J&K.
Maybe now 'Talk Soup' producers will pay more attention to your show and show everyone the treatment the kids get from you, too.
HA! Loved it. There's nothing like negative publicity!

Anonymous said...

LOL! Jon Minus 9? I would so watch that!

mkb77 said...

I would think anyone who hates the show, thinks the kids are being exploited, enjoys watching anyone put down Kate, would absolutely be thrilled that Talk Soup is poking a stick at them.

Anonymous said...

Hysterical! and that's one of her MINOR gaffes!
I hope they highlight even more!

This is my favorite show, and we're sure to catch it every Friday night! I love exactly how it portrays the whole situation, and I hope he's right about the spin off series! They'e made fun of them once before with the whole "Daddy's have weiners" incident.

I think that this is EXACTLY the kind of exposure they need!

"Jon Minus 9"
Haha this was a funny way to start off my morning, thanks for posting it!

Anonymous said...

HA HA HA - Yep, that's golden...catches Kate EXACTLY how she is doesn't it?? Also, looks scripted in that Jon started over and repeated the entire sentence instead of correcting just a few words. Geez, is Jen that dense that they can't edit out the incorrect sentence?

ThreeScaryFarmers said...

Jon started over and repeated what he said thinking that the part he messed up would be edited out like it didn't happen. Instead they included everything. Good job editors.

Well, that's nothing new for Katie dear to correct Jon, why now? At least they're not mocking the children on the Soup but I'd rather see more of the real issues discussed on CNN or other serious venues because mocking Katie's behavior isn't helping the children. I don't mind it I just don't want to encourage further viewing of the show even for the easy to snark on behavior of the dim parents. I guess I could hope Katie gets tried of being the punchline of jokes and decides to close down the shop but with her persistent belief that everyone in the world but she is wrong I doubt she cares.

Allison Parker said...

"Ages!"
Kate is a narcissistic woman who thinks she is better than anyone else so she doesn't even bother to think she should thank people who give her stuffs or help her because she thinks she's entitled to those!
I don't think Talk Soup has to go back to older episodes, I am sure Kate will provide gaffs at the coming ones because the more she try to control herself for damage control, the more her true color shows.
Instead of Jon Minus Nine, I think Jon Plus Eight sounds better.
I hope this is just the start of exposing Jon and Kate so that the show will finally stop.

Anonymous said...

Yay! I love The Soup and have been waiting for them to pick up on this show! They will have a field day if they keep incorporating them.

And I hate hate hate when people correct other people's grammar. I think it's one of the rudest things one can do. What is the point of making someone feel stupid by correcting them? It's not like it's helping them? And for someone like Kate (who has made some major grammatical mistakes herself) she really has no room to correct anyone.

You know, there were alot of things I never realized about my parents growing up that became apparent once I was an adult myself. I hope that part of therapy for the Gosselin children will be to watch this footage in an attempt to help their own healing process once this melee is over. Although it may be a long drawn out process for them-at least it offers a shread of hope. Isn't it sad to think that's the best one might hope could come from all this? God Bless those who personally love the Gosselin's children. I pray that you are able to hang in there for the children. They will, no doubt, need your support when this is over. God Bless.

This is not the first time that Jon & Kate plus 8 have been featured on The Soup. If I remember correctly, they showed the clip of Joel (Gosselin) saying "Daddies have wieners" and then Joel (McHale) followed by saying "And mommies have fertility drugs!"

i cant beleive some people (not here, on other sites) think that being on the soup is a good thing. did they watch the rest of the show? i personally love the show, but its not a flattering show to be on. all it does is make fun of all the stupid people/shows.

My husband and I really enjoy Joel McHale and The Soup. But to see Jon and Kate on there is funnier than words can express. When did Kate get a PhD. in "English Grammar"? She acts like a school teacher correcting her student. Doesn't she realize that this is Domestic Violence and not a nice thing to do to your husband. She is emotionally and verbally abusive to Jon. I bet Jodi and Beth have seen it too. This kind of publicity can not be good for Jon and Kate's image. The kids are the ones that are going to suffer. When they go to school other kids are going to make fun of them. Kids are like that sometimes. Kate needs to realize it's time to get some help.

wramblinwreck said...

I love that The Soup is skewering Jon and Kate!! I doubt TLC is happy that their family "documentary" is in the same league as Rock of Love, I Love New York, Cheaters, Girls Next Door, A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, to name just a few of the cheez-tastic reality show clips regularly featured on The Soup.

Hahaha! I love it! How can you NOT make fun of Kate these days? She's so dreadful (to use the word she overly uses).

I don't watch the show anymore, but I can't believe Kate is still correcting his grammar. Wasn't it a few weeks back when posters said she was using words that don't exist? She's such a hypocrite in every sense of the word!

Anonymous said...

My husband and I were laughing so hard when I saw that last night! I was wondering, though, what took so long for them to end up on The Soup? Kate has given them so much material to mock in the past few "seasons". How are they just now discovering the trainwreck that is J&K?

"Jon Minus Nine" had us in stitches.

_______________________________

True, but the Kon scene was included in the Reality Show Clip segment, where Joel makes fun of the dumbest, most ridiculous scenes from such stellar reality shows as those I listed above. And there's a big difference between Olberman, Dispirito, et al making fun of "themselves" versus an entertainment show like The Soup making fun of a supposedly serious family "documentary."

Anonymous said...

"Jon Minus Nine" lol...cute. Well, that's what Jon gets for being a mamby pamby. He should've just ignored her. Maybe then she'll stop or at least ligten up on her compulsion to correct his grammar all the time. It's obvious that Kate Gosselin will never be happy with anything.
I wonder if Figure 8(or whoever)is going to change the beginning of the show. I think that it's crazy how they have acquired so much and are actually looking into having a house built yet don't even have regular jobs to support any of it. TLC is glorifying/rewarding this type of behavior? Unbelievable.
Whenever I watch the show now-I look for the expressions on the kid's faces. In the episode where the Gosselins are going to NICU, Jon goes to the basement to wake Alexis...here she is just opening her eyes to start the day and there's the camera pointed directly in her face. You can catch a initial glimpse of shock on her face. How can Jon not want to protect his children's privacy to some extent? Then there's Mady. I'm not sure if it's the same episode, however, she's in the garage-looks at the camera and then runs away-into the house. The camera is not her friend, that's for sure. This little girl has had enough. For ANYONE to believe that these Gosselin's children agree to having this intrusion in their lives is crazy. They are being made to perform like circus monkeys! And that's the bottom line.

Hello,

I am new to this blog and I love to read the comments!

Here is an idea for KON's next book:

THE GOSSELINS GUIDE TO GREED FOR DUMMIES

For $29.95, you too can learn how to be greedy, selfish and establish a holier-than-thou attitude!!! Here are some tips just for you!

1. Claim PCOS and then do IVF treatments.

2. After having multiples, make a public statement that it is the responsibility of society to take care of them after all "everyone knows that fertility treatments cause multiples."

3. DO NOT ACCEPT MISMATCH ITEMS! Matching items only! Lordy Be...everyone should know that!

4. Complain that your house is too small. Then after hardworking people build an addition on to it complain and say that you hate it. DO NOT APPRECIATE IT.

5. Act like you're the only people in the world to have multiples and eight children. Start a show and solicit children to the fullest extent while quitting your jobs. Live the GLAMOROUS Life with freebies, free trips, hair transplants and tummy tucks.

6. When you receive freebies while it is still warm outside or if they don't fit well, complain about it and then throw them down on the floor and stomp off. Who cares that someone worked hard to make it for you.

7. Even though they have lots of toys and clothes let people send your children Christmas gifts...."After all, who are you to say no". Never mind that there are needy children.

8. When you are done with the freebies have Greedy Garage Sales and pocket the money. AFTER ALL you worked hard for it sitting on your butt watching/bossing while other people do stuff for you and you getting "GAWKED" at all day by your "fans". DO NOT give to charities or the needy. After all, your needs come before theirs. DUH!

9. Charge $$,$$$ for public speaking. Sell photos of family for $20.00. DON'T FORGET the "love" offering! Nevermind the economic hardships that people in the audience are facing. What about YOUR "economic hardship"?

10. Complain again about the space in your house and then get a huge furnished 2 million dollar home for FREE!!! Never mind that people everywhere are losing their homes to foreclosure and will have no where to live. Don't give it a second thought while feeding your face of food that has been prepared by your own personal chef that you need to deny to have.

The next tip is the most important of all in being greedy!

11. Throw away all family and friends that have helped you like a teddy bear with gum stuck on it.
Tell them that they don't matter and accuse them of being jealous. YOU'RE the "STARS" of the show, NOT THEM! They need to understand that. Remember, you don't need them...they're nothing compared to you!

tripletsmom said...

mom22teens,

You hit the nail on the head. VERY GOOD. When will the people on the other site come out of their coma and realize what "CONS" Jon and Kate are?

Anonymous said...

I never noticed how deceiving and conniving Kate was until I started reading the boards against her and Jon and seeing and recognizing what others were saying. The subtle hints and careful placed words (regarding the small house for instance) is just so obvious now. I love how she always says how exhausted or how exhausting her life is. Doesn't she realize there are many many MANY other families with more kids than 8 in it? And she has her husband there doing everything for her! What is so exhausting about her life?

Mom22Teens said...

I honestly don't think that the "lights" aren't going to come on until it is too late. It's really sad that the only values that KON are teaching the kids is gimme, gimme, gimme and me, me, me.

What goes around, comes around.

No, the soup has like a week after it airs or something like that to take jabs at it. I'm sure someone here knows better than I do but I know that the show does not have to submit anything.

Anonymous said...

For sure no submissions on 'The Soup'. Remember the embarrassing clips shown a couple of summers ago from CBS's Big Brother (racial and antisemetic slurs)just to name one show that certainly went over the top.
I know there are many others, but my mind is blank.

I can only hope 'Soup' producers are tuning in to J&K regularly now to catch more of the insults and irregularities on the show. LOVE the negative publicity - and it's free!

maybe after the election - they will be a parody on SNL - that would be sweet!

also - the irony, is if kate didn't correct jon -no one would have noticed - it was implied what he meant.

Kate must have grown up with a very strict mom and/or dad who corrected her all. the. time or somehow made her feel inferior, as all she seems to do is correct Jon ON NATIONAL TELEVISION. She is so rude.

Yet Jon takes it. If she corrected ME on national tv......

I don't know who submits things to The Soup. But I do know one week at the end he played a clip and said 'Thank you to (I can't remember) for submitting this clip to the soup' So maybe you can send in clips to them. Your point about PCOS and then do IVF treatments was EXCELLENT. I feel like Kate has some premeditated ideas about starting her "SCAM" way back when she did those treatments. She's a nurse and knew what could happen. She knew if she had a "litter" that it would open all kinds of doors for her for freebies. I think people who don't see her for what she is are probably drinking the Kate Kool-aid.

I would not classify NJ as Yankee territory. That's a generalization. I lived there 15 years and everyone around my area in S. Jersey (we lived on the Air Force base) were for the Phillies. : )

I have to laugh when Kate corrects Jon's grammar. I have noticed that the number of mistakes in grammar made by Kate could be turned into a huge book! Her grammar is atrocious and her demeanor is very scary to me. I cringe for all members of her family when she has her frequent dysfunctional outbursts.
As a master's level nurse, I thank heavens she is no longer working as a nurse because she is not really qualified educationally or temperamentally. She is a wannabe celebrity who will NEVER last because legions of people have already caught on to her phony statements and behaviors.

There's something about correcting someone's grammer that just rubs me the wrong way. It just seems incredibly rude and condescending - especially if the one correcting uses bad grammer also. My ex-boyfriend was always correcting my (minor) grammer mistakes ("MORE FUN!!!") while he himself said such things as (and, no I'm not making this up) "I came awake" instead of "I woke up" (yep...really) and "even though that" instead of "even though." I only corrected him on it a couple times though.

THANK YOU!

since the first time i watched this spectacle, i have felt the same way! the dead give away is kate constantly telling people how unexpected the news ofthe tups was and how it was 'the most devastating day of (their) lives".

seriously, what woman who honestly knew she could not get pregnant, and who had wanted a child so desperately, and had undergone fertility treatments wouldn't be at least a little bit excited or some other positive emotion? im sure it was probably a shock but to describe the experience so negatively? i think she's a liar.

does anyone out there know if someone who medically does not need fertility treatments could just walk into their doctor's office and request them? i assume she would have needed some sort of diagnosis other than 'oh i had a gut feeling since i was a little girl that i might have fertility trouble'. pffft. yeah ok. and i always had a gut feeling i would have 5 kids lol.

Recently there was an episode of the Tyra Banks show that featured very young girls , age 13-15, who were desperately trying to get pregnant. A 14 year old girl that Tyra interviewed said she was having intentionally having unprotected sex with random partners over and period of time and was not getting pregnant. She was so desperate to get pregnant, she stole her mother's credit card and ordered fertility drugs off the internet. So there ya go. One's ability to obtain fertility drugs is as simple as a credit card and mouse click.

The grammar issue just slays me! There are so many mistakes that Kate makes that I cannot believe she has the nerve to correct Jon. I think she feels the need to correct him to prove she knows it is incorrect - so she looks smart. This creates the total opposite effect!

Here is a little lesson that may help.
Example 1: Kate says "Clothing for Jon and I"

The rule is take the other person's name out of the equation to know how it sounds and what is correct. Would someone say "Clothes for I"? (Should be "me").

Example 2: Kate says "Means alot to Jon and myself". Take Jon out of that equation - would you say "It means alot to myself"? (Should be "me").

Example 3:Kate says "We wanted one of Jon and I". Would you say We wanted one of I"? (Should be "me").

So many people get the "I" and "me" wrong that when you say it correctly most people think you are being grammatically incorrect. The whole use of "myself" has completely exploded and is wrong about 90% of the time.

Here was your little grammar lesson, Kate. You need to get off the high grammar horse, you have a lot to learn!

bradleymom said...

I think Joel McHale should do a clip of Kate saying how much she wants to have her children experience everything they can (*read: freebies and special treatment). Then intersperse that with Kate at the Crayola factory bellowing "Joooonnnn" like an opera singer on steriods - with no regards for the other people in that room. Then show how the kids are in this really neat craft place and they are not allowed to use markers or paint! One of the kids even says that their Mom is no fun and it would be better with Daddy! Kate - the clothes are free and constantly coming - what do you care if they get stained?

bradleymom said...

By the way - as "bradleymom", or any other name, this is the first time I have ever blogged, or submitted, or whatever it is called. I am so excited I found this site and would love to hear someone respond to me. I think you will be hearing a lot from me in the future. I really wanted to open a dialogue on this subject and think it would be neat to have feedback! I also have been formulating a theory that sums all of this up - mostly pertaining to the use of these kids and what could possibly be the reason behind it.

Please give me feedback - I think all of you that take the time to write, in a quest for these children to have a better and unpublicized, loving, life recognize that these kids are awesome, but their circumstances are far less than that. Also, how sweet are Beth and Jodie, it breaks my heart that the children don't have that positive, loving influence in their lives.

Jon needs to trip her and roll her ass down that hill.

Can't wait to see the reaction to TLC's new show that has 2 more kids than KON. Let's see how great they can handle their kids, and let's see if they get freebies or not?

What is up with TLC and their advertising? First they are now offering, on their website "PARENTAL TIPS FROM KATE! " Imagine what words of wisdom she will tell?

And I love how TLC proclaims their programs are "life unscripted"?
What? Where? KON?

If a parent is truly in need of g parenting tips , there are numerous CREDIBLE sources that offer an abundance of information on the topic. If I were seriously looking for 'parental tips', the LAST place I would go is TLC's website and from a person's whose only claim to fame is a reality tv show. Come on, are there really parents out there who look to J & K as a source of wisdom and advice on the topic of parenting? IMO,Maybe its just me, but does any one else see something very wrong with the idea of Kate Gosselin, the child exploiter, advising others on 'parenting tips'?

Does anyone recall where it was said that Kate doesn't buy milk for the kids because it is too expensive? Fruit juice - even 100% and organic - is still just sugar. Milk has much more nutrition. Should we all start a "milk offerring" for the children so they have some vitamins and calcium? I have never seen them have milk. Anyone know about this one? Is this part of her parenting advice? Milk - it DOESN'T do a body good!

If I recall, Kate said she ONLY buys milk 'when it is on sale'. I am assuming that Mrs. Organic only feeds her children organic milk, so cost shouldnt be a factor considering organic milk costs twice as much if not more than non organic milk and doesnt go on sale very often. But then again, Kate also said, that her children go 'through 2-3 boxes of cereal each morning'. A typical box of cereal consists of 12-14 servings depending on brand. You do the math.

How can TLC even make such a statement when it is obvious that sponsors are the one's writing the script! For example, Jon's hair transplant surgery, J & K's sponsored trip to Hawaii, the Philly game, the Gosselin's private viewing of the new Aquarium in CA. to name just a few.

In regards to the poster who questioned where it was said that Kate doesnt buy her kids milk. She herself said that she doesnt buy milk unless its on sale. I think that it was an earlier episode of Kate shopping and saving all kinds of money with all of her helpful hints. Apple juice allday everyday is hard on a kids digestive system also. My kids sometimes get a 1/2 cup of apple juice and they are climbing the walls with craziness and then the loose bowels come. I cant imagine what it would be like with cup after cup of juice all day. Whew!!

Kate in her lounge pants and t shirt less than four years ago; 'It's not a glamorous job but it's fulfilling'.

Kate Gosselin present day in her designer clothing, professionally styled hair, newly veneered teeth, and frequently botoxed face.

'and we have a good life because of them (children)' .
Enough said.
