I just saw their new website and I think it's a HUGE improvement from the last one. The layout and colours are better but the info, sub-par. I don't know....I think they answered questions that have stemmed from comments left on this blog as well as others. They mentioned that the private chef was infact a craft service which ALL shows get so I guess I'll give them that. There are still many sections that are "under construction" like the kids corner and laughter section. All in all it's way better than their last. IMO, there really isn't too much to say about it....

Anonymous said...

Why not all the procedes to charity? And ya know they did not put this together by themselves!

pokie said...

What's telling about the newly redesigned website is that the sections re Jon & Kate are up, but click on any of the children's faces and 'under construction' comes up. Click on the 'laughter' section, 'under construction' comes up. Click on the 'kids corner' section, 'under construction' comes up.

Definitely damage control here. The children are secondary.

Kate said in the Q&A: “Our life is our show and our show is our life.”

I think that's terribly ironic, seeing as though this is the same lady who FREAKED OUT when Jon said she had been calling him fat for the past three seasons- "YOUR LIFE IS NOT IN SEASONS!!!!!" But it's all perfectly fine for HER to say that their lives revolve aound the show.

I guess she just did everyone a favor though- she basically admitted that the cameras are no longer just "following them around", they've actually became a real-life Truman Show.

Anonymous said...

I checked their new site out earlier. Funny, they are no longer saying that there are no college funds for the kids. This site really stinks IMO.

I did notice that Kate's story about their family has been edited some and I must hand it to her, she actually learned how to make a paragraph.
Good for you Kate !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mit said...

First observation: The only page "Still under construction" is the one titled "Laughter" ... anyone find that ironic?

Second observation: In the Q and A Kate is asked about the personal chef, and in her answer she refers to her family as "cast and crew" and her home as "the set." So sad.. so so sad.

Third observation: They are now donating a portion of proceeds from the website to charity.

Fourth observation: She says that the kids agree that they still need to continue on with the show - isn't that interesting? 4 years olds agree that they should continue on!

Fifth and final observation - She says the reason family is not involved is because some of them do not understand the show and how it relates to their lives - and she says "the show is our life and our life is the show" -- I am amazed that she does not see the wrong in this statement!!!

Oh my. The PR rep has definitely redone this site! The overall look of it is definitely much nicer, although I'm not a huge fan of the overly religious tone.

I snorted my way through their devotional page about not repaying evil with evil. There were some very veiled comments J&K posted that made total sense to me having read here, but that probably wouldn't register with the average sheeple reading their site.

For those who can't see it, the whole site is, "We're so blessed. We love God. God has blessed us, etc., etc., etc."

In the Q&A section, someone asked about their favorite trip, and part of their response was, "And there is a place that we would love to go someday as a family to “retrace” Jon’s steps when he was 19. But I will keep that as a mystery for future shows…it may happen and it may not but we can always dream, can’t we?" Sounds like a planned trip to Korea, perhaps? They've already gone to Hawaii.

They deny having a private chef and claim that a catering service provides organic meals on the days when they are filming, both for them and the crew, but that's it. Kate claims she cooks everything else from scratch and organically and almost never uses recipes. (insert roll of the eyes).

They were asked if they planned to have more children, and they basically said no, unless God has other plans... I guess if a baby just happens to fall into their laps when the show starts getting old, they'll take it, right?

And apparently they've grown tired of people calling them unemployed, because they now refer to the show as their "job" - but no mention of it also being the childrens' "job."

I found the whole site to be rather nauseating.

I didn't notice any ads on their new site or list of sponsers, so I was wondering, can anyone explain this?

Thanks for visiting...so many have helped us in the past and we want to help others in need. We will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the website to families in need and charity organizations (our cause of choice? Pediatric cancer research).

They also say they don't read stuff about themselves, but I am thinking they do, because they want to give back now.

anna said...

Wow. I honestly can't think of anything else to say. Their Q&A was highly interesting. Some of the questions were old, but there were some new ones as well.

Gosh, I really don't know what else to say other than, WOW. They make me very sad.

Bohemianmoon said...

It is an entirely new site full of damage control goodness.

SOme parts are still under construction, as in the "kid's section".

And their section names "A few of our favorite things" doesn't have anything in it except for a play of the song. No businesses yet, which I am assuming would be a list of Sponsors.

This is my favorite part of the site, which says it all to me:

From the Q&A:
What is your favorite episode so far (Kate & Jon) and your least favorite episode?
I don’t have a favorite per se, but I especially love the ones where I see our love for our family, our determination to do a great job as parents and the ones where I see the kids loving one another and the experiences our show has brought us. Those are my favorites! Jon? Undeniably the Utah Episode. Our least favorites are the ones where there are painful scenes…we are too harsh to each other or the kids or we don’t react as we should have to a situation. However, that is why our show is a reality show…you get the good, the bad and the ugly and we are determined to be the exact same people that we are when the cameras aren’t there. Many people have been helped by our honesty…so are we “sorry” that certain things are aired? Never.

and

Why don’t we see more of Kate’s or Jon’s family on the show?
There are varied reasons. Some choose not to be on camera, some are really not here on a daily (or weekly) basis for different reasons, and some don’t understand our job and how it relates to our “real” lives…which is still puzzling to us… “Our life is our show and our show is our life,” I always say and it is a very hard balance!

Yep, their lives are the show and the show is their lives.

What a great commontary for those 8 kids.

Kate says at the bottom of the website that a portion of the proceeds of the site will go to charity, but I'm not quite figuring out exactly how the website is generating income.

Really, you would think that if they wanted to use the site to earn money for a charitable cause, they would have a link to where you could donate to the charity. But then again, if that were the case, they probably wouldn't be able to get their cut of the cash.

Right now, there are so many opportunities for us to repay evil with evil but we refuse. And it hasn't been easy to keep our mouths shut, but it's what God is asking us to do. Continue to overcome evil with good. Things like love, prayers, and kindness instead of retaliation and exposure.

Yes. Because God demands that you pimp your children out to pay for your lavish lifestyle. Here's the thing...TRUTH is not, nor ever will be, "evil". If you view it as such, then you have serious issues. Putting up passive-aggressive scripture is a joke. If you not reading "the evil", then you wouldn't need to post passages about how nice you're going to play. Holy power trips, Batman! If I were Jodi and family, I'd be livid. They're basically acting as if it's only their restraint that protects Jodi and Julie (and anyone else who dares expose their delusion). The reality is, Jodi and Julie have more support than they do...and they know it.

(I guess my first remarks got deleted, since it was put under a different post before this post was created, so I'll repeat myself.)

On the new site, they repeatedly refer to their tv show as WORK. Meaning those kids are working, but have no protection since its considered a reality show.

Also, Kate says that there is no personal chef, but a CRAFT SERVICE table, like on a sound stage, were child actors have rights. But not on this show, because once again, its "reality".

All the Gosselin's managed to do was stick their foot in their mouth. They admit that this sham show is HARD WORK. Those kids are working daily. Their parents say so themselves in so many words.

THIS SHOW NEEDS TO STOP NOW.

Kristen said...

I definitely like it a lot better than the old one. I can understand how all of the kids pages aren't done yet..Jon and Kate's page is basically what was there since the website started. I'm sure everything will be up soon enough. At the bottom of the page it says "Site Design by Adam Gordon/ThirdPath Creative"..I like it!

They seem like they have been reading sites such as this one, answering questions that have been asked on here..(i.e. the personal chef)..hopefully things will start to turn for the better!

What bothers me most about the site is that they have listed in their play list "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. This irks me because his version of the song is something I hold close to my heart for personal reasons, and it also reminds me of my time in Hawaii (I had heard the song long before I visited there though). I don't want J&K associated with such a beautiful rendition.

Also, in the Q&A, under the question of how do they deal with the negativity, Kate says "we know that our show is benefiting so many people that we need to continue."...I had NO IDEA that TWO PEOPLE (aka Kon) are considered "MANY." Who else are they benefiting and helping??? Certainly not their eight little worker bees, I mean children...

The site may have been overhauled by a PR person in terms of design but no self-respecting PR Person (I should know, I am one) would allow a site so littered with spelling and grammatical errors to ever go live. Shameful that in this day and age someone hasn't learned to spell check his/her mad skillz.

Nancy said...

I enjoyed reading that Kate's most favorite thing at home is "coking in the kitchen". Way to go, Kate.

The whole website is full of grammatical and spelling errors.

To Mit -

She gave the DEFINITION of craft services. That is what craft services is. Though, technically, the family is a cast and their house is a set, she did not refer to her family and house as cast and set. She gave the definition of craft services. The whole "what is known as in the tv world" should have given that away.

Any flack we receive is just typical stuff that anyone on TV on a regular basis receives.

If you truly believed that "anyone" who is on TV receives "flack," why on earth would you subject your eight young children to that?

Amen, sista' friend!
I had to madly search for the pause button because I won't have that song ruined for me.

This new website is too freakin' much. Must. Not. Snark. All. Day.

Could they have chosen any more pictures where Maddy looks like she's about to impale a photograper with her evil stare? It bugs me. They're making Maddy a character, as opposed to letting her grow and change. "Maddy is the stubborn, drama queen." Nice.

I think they are doing a huge amount of damage control and they are using a lot of information from this site GWP to their advantage! We are giving them advice and ideas on how to make Kate appear nore "normal", charity oriented, not money humgry, hardworking, in love iwth her kids.

I notice that from this and other blogs, there is a very fast response time and some form of damage control appears on their show and now thier site. I wonder if it was a coincidence that we were looking at all the old pages yesterday, and today voila! a beand new site with all our suggestions! I know the site was probably in the works but I'm sure the gosseling PF crew have favorited this site and make extensive notes from it and implement changes. The problem is, it is all just window dressing and Kate will remain as horrible as ever but the gravy train will roll on.

I wonder if there are other ways to stop their circus that would be more effective than a blog. I feel like we are only helping them!!

And I want to help the kids, not them!!

Oh my goodness - Kate said that the 'kids' agreed that they should continue on with the show.

I can see Kate asking the poor little 'tups about continuing with the show by asking them something like: "You still want to keep the cameras around us all the time, don't you?? You don't want Mommy and Daddy to have to leave every day and go far away to work, do you?? You don't want all of us to have to live in this tiny house, do you? You don't want to have to wear icky WalMart clothes, do you?" And Kate goes on and on and on to the poor 'tups until they are all in tears and finally say they want the show to continue....

I somehow made my way through all the links and finally reached "Kids Corner." Very petty and picky on my part I'll admit, but did anybody else notice the positions of the "thumbtacks" on each of the kids' pictures? Probably just a coincidence but look at the favorites vs. non-favorites...

It's ugly. Jon and Kate -- we KNOW you lurk, or at least your PR people do. You've lost your minds. Lost perspective. This is NOT what you said in Boston. You said that if the show interfered with life, you would stop. Now you've completely embraced it. Stop, Jon, stop. You are whoring out your children. It's disgusting. In Websters, under "Stage Mom" should be a photo of Kate. You will live to rue the day that you put your children's lives on public display. It is just a creepy world out there. You have little to fear from us -- I fear an obsessed "loving" fan.

But, isn't this a form of retaliation bringing up this whole business of repaying evil with evil? The last sentence should read things like "love offerings, prayer offerings (in the form of cash donations, please) kindness (more volunteers please) instead of retaliation and exposure (no more Beth or Aunt Jodi on the show please).
Wait, what was I thinking, Kate never says please.

I find it ironic that the same woman who won't let the kids choose their own clothes; won't let the kids choose to play with markers; won't let the kids choose whether or not to have cornrows! - is the same woman who now claims that she will allow them to decide if they should continue a multi-million dollar enterprise.

Give me a break!

The only thing evil going on is the way they twist the scripture and use God as a reason for what they are doing.

What could they say to retaliate? Now the truth has changed from "hurtful untruths" to evil...

They are truly deluded--blinded by money and fame. They are listening to those who are making money off of them and cutting off anyone who stands in their way.

There is nothing to be livid about. They know we're telling the truth. People who know them know the truth. They can lie and twist all they want, but this is just a desperate attempt at damage control.

The one section of their site that bothered me more than ANYTHING is the "In our Prayers". I wanted to vomit when I read that!

They are USING these poor people's situation to make THEMSELVES look better!

When in the past has Kate EVER mentioned ANYTHING about giving back to causes or recognizing anyone but her own family? I am just sickened by this!

If I hadn't been following this blog and Julie's so closely I would not have put two and two together.

Jon and Kate, if you want to pray for someone, pray for your own discernment. The devil bit ya bad!!

Now excuse me while I go throw up in some tin foil and eat it.

With regard to the section on sponsors - maybe they took them off because ppl were innundating the sponsors with complaints. This might be Kon's way of making it harder for ppl to know WHO their sponsors are - that way we can't contact them. Just typical stuff. Like questioning our decision to exploit our children for monetary gain, irresponsible parenting, misrepresentation for profit, using our faith as a platform for profit, over zealous sense of entitlement and greed. You know just the typical stuff that anyone on TV on a regular basis receives.
Typical J & K, always spinning the TRUTH to their advantage!

"They had seen us go from the family of four and then watched me struggle through the pregnancy with the six, saw me lose my job due to bed rest and Jon lose his job due to the pregnancy."

Wow!! Way to gloss over the truth on that one. I don't recall that Jon lost his job because of the pregnancy...unless Kate figures that her pregnancy was reason enough for him to be totally unreliable? If it were just the pregnancy, then why has he kept no job since then?

Traditions-"We have a lot of traditions…there are almost too many to list anymore. I like traditions. It’s a way to reflect on the years past as well as project what the years ahead may hold."
...I like traditions. It's a way to get the network to pony-up with the cash. I suppose 4th of July in SC is now a tradition?

Organization -I don’t feel that I am overly organized. With 8, I feel overwhelmed at times with the amount of organizing there is to do! All I can say, is that I am constantly running over in my head ways to make things go smoother—trips, closets, laundry procedures, etc.—to ensure that each process is as seamless as possible…if that makes any sense at all!
Her life is so hard. Poor thing.

Who inspires you -Jon and I gravitate towards “older” couples because we are able to learn so much from them. They inspire us because they understand what it takes to raise kids (even if it’s only 2 or 3) and appreciate what we are doing for ours—and tell us so.

...and they don't understand the internet as well as young parents so they're easier to scam. Oh! And, the older couples have more money and time to devote to our cause.

Who inspires you? - (Older couples) They inspire us because they understand what it takes to raise kids (even if it’s only 2 or 3) and appreciate what we are doing for ours—and tell us so.

...as opposed to the people who tell us we're hurting our kids because they're just meanies who are jealous.

New mommy advice- Well, first of all, we have never had one baby…so it’s hard for me to give advice.
Ugh!! Give me a break. It's hard for Kate to give advice because she's never spent a single, solitary day alone with any of her children. Of course she doesn't know how a mom with ONE child would do it...those moms don't have people to do it all for them.

Advice for new mommy -I guess I would say, accept help so that you can get some rest, figure out a schedule ASAP that woks for you (takes trial and error and a lot of thinking) and get your dear sweet husband involved!!!

Good God! This is the closest to truth that I've ever seen Kate get to. Although, she forgot to add that it's good to smack around your dear sweet husband when he doesn't move fast enough...but, new mommies have to pace themselves.

More kids? -I can honestly say, unless God has other plans, I will never have more kids!
RUN JON, RUN!

How do you travel so much -We use our DVD player and since the kids don’t watch a lot of TV normally, it’s exciting for them to see a movie on the road. I always take plenty of snacks and “car toys” (little toys that are amusing but don’t annoy us with loud sounds). And we do it a lot so they are very accustomed to long drives…I really don’t sweat it anymore.

So...basically, the kids aren't allowed to watch television except for the forty hours a week they're in the car. Gee, I'm glad they set limits on that stuff.

Why are the families not in their lives: There are varied reasons. Some choose not to be on camera, some are really not here on a daily (or weekly) basis for different reasons, and some don’t understand our job and how it relates to our “real” lives…which is still puzzling to us… “Our life is our show and our show is our life,” I always say and it is a very hard balance!
That is the scariest thing I've ever read.

I wish we had secret rooms…maybe I could go there sometimes to get some peace and (secret) quiet!!! :)

Um. Don't they keep the master bedroom off limits? What about Jon's closet?

Do you know how many lawns we could fertilize if we dried this stuff out?

I want to say to Kon and their PR firm -- Do you really think we are that stupid, have that short memory(ies), have lived such sheltered lives that we not only can't recognize a con when we see one? As a prosecutor I can tell you that defendants are almost always changing their story just enough to have a kernal of truth in it. Most juries aren't swayed and can see right through it. Now before any of you bite me I didn't say Kon were criminals per se. I'm just saying con people are con people. This change to the web site is laughable and almost embarassing in that they think we, any of us, would buy that there is or will be any substantive change. Dress up a pig with false eyelashes and pretty clothes and chances are, Kon, that most juries or audiences will still recognize a pig.

Oh, please, all the children agree we should continue the show. Now they are insulting our intelligence.

Spin-doctoring at its finest is all I can say.
It has the PR firm's stink all over it.
As we saw from the first statement on their old website when the NE article came out, they are simply not that articulate.
So they posted some positive emails and inspirational stories - we have no way of knowing how old they are or if they are legit.
There are a few that are even duplicted under one of the headings.
My favorite though, is the advice Kate gave to a woman asking about infertility - "It will happen in God's time" (or something like that) - WHAT?
Even the die-hard supporters will have a hard time not seeing through this smoke screen, I think.

"Oh, please, all the children agree we should continue the show. Now they are insulting our intelligence."

I agree ! Insultng our intelligence indeed . So J & K sat down with their children, 2 seven year olds and 6 four year olds and asked their opinion on continuing the show and ALL the children were in total agreement that the show must go on. I wonder how much bribery it took on J & K's part to convince the children? IF we dont do the show, we wont have any money and mommy and daddy will have to go away to work and there will be no more amusement parks, no more beach vacations, no more special days, no more free clothing and toys, and all the 'faithful's fans that love and adore us will be sad and lonely.

From the new site Q&A:

I heard you have a book coming out and how in the world did you have time to write a book?

We started writing after so many people said “you should write a book”! They had seen us go from the family of four and then watched me struggle through the pregnancy with the six, saw me lose my job due to bed rest and Jon lose his job due to the pregnancy. They saw how unbearable that first year was for us in many many ways (physically, financially, mentally and emotionally) as we literally scraped by and had no choice but to give God the control (which is a daily event—one that we are still trying to do daily). So many amazing things took place that I didn’t want to forget those times! I wanted to have them written down for us and for our children. Now, life is so different in almost all of those ways…and it is in part due to remembering our past that makes the present so much more meaningful.

Oh, so Kate lost her job due to bed rest and Jon lost his due to pregnancy. I wonder if their previous employers know this...

The Truth Will Set You Free said...

I haven't made it thru the entire Q&A section yet...

“So, we were truly unaware that there were 7 possible babies in there on the day that our procedure was done…or I can assure you, we would not have gone through with it!! (We were told that there were 3 with a possibility of 4 which was, by my doctor, considered excellent to proceed.)”

Are they trying to prove that conceiving sextuplets was so unexpected? Of course, the doctor and his staff can't say anything due to patient confidentiality.

Wouldn't it be better to say nothing, than to make up a blatant lie? They knew exactly how many possible babies were there. They told many people before they had the procedure.

So, wait, Jodi's an idiot because she gave the kids gum based on the kids' emphatic assurances that it was OK?

But Jon and Kate should continue the show based on the same kids' emphatic assurances that it's OK?

Can't trust them to tell the truth or chew gum, but CAN trust them to decide on the family's livelihood and well-being. Sure. That sounds reasonable.

The new website is totally damage control, I agree.
Certainly they have been experiencing such a backlash they figured that they had better fix things up right away. Also, since we now know the truth....I don't appreciate her continuous LIES, such as the relatives don't "understand" their work, etc...and it is obvious that if someone has spoken against you, etc...you CAN turn the other cheek. But, those THINLY VEILED jabs against people who have spoken the TRUTH about them...implying that they will return GOOD for EVIL. So, anyone who has told the TRUTH about them is coming from an evil standpoint? The new website also does not answer the things that we really want changed. How about this? Why do you treat your boys like they are second class citizens? It would be different if they just updated their site, and added a few things. But, simply put, they fluffed up the truth the best they could, and weasled around how shamefully they have been acting. The new website is just another lie on their part. Claiming to return good for evil is just a way of ADVERTISING that the things we are hearing about them are so evil. You won't fool ANY of us, Kate and Jon.
Your explanations about your lack of family involvement will never hold up. Pretending to all of a sudden be so caring about others, etc...too late, Kate!
I found it to be a fairy tale, pure and simple.
They only need to add the line: And they lived happily ever after. However, we see with the hitting, crying, sobbing, attitudes and verbal jabs at your spouse that there is NO happily ever after in this case.
You need to get Nanny 911 in to your home....and VERY SOON!
You are such phonies. And the website actually mentions that there are TEN of them. Well, lo and behold: It appears that someone in that family is reading our posts and rushing to do the damage control.
PHONIES PHONIES PHONIES

Personal chef or caterer? It doesn't matter. While meals were being brought into the Go$$elin household, Kate parked her butt in a chair and told viewers how she cooks a meal and cleans up after a meal, ad nauseum. How many meals does she cook for her family during an average week? Month?

I don't care who's cooking (and paying for) their meals; I'm glad that Kate felt the pressure to 'fess up that it isn't HER. Now, I want to know why she's sooooo exhausted 'cos it seems that moms with less kids than she has (myself, my friends and family) do MORE than she does for their families. Maybe she'll explain her exhaustion in the next Spin Cycle Q&A.

Team Go$$elin must think we're as stupid (or more so) than they are. What a hoot.

I cook from scratch and of course (do I need to mention it again?) organically. The main reason there are none of my recipes posted anywhere is because I don’t use recipes a lot of the time… someday when I get a chance to write my recipes down, I’ll put them out here for all who are dying for them (please don’t though…I personally don’t think they’re worth you giving your life).
How long until her "cookbook" deal

So how many of you are "dying" to get the recipe for quartered tortillas, quartered apple slices, crackers and limp piece of overcooked broccoli?

I hate it when parents consult children regarding parenting decisions.

Well, Kate, Hannah did not agree that she shouldn't have another strawberry, but you shot that down readily enough.

When the children wanted to shoot off fireworks in violation of local laws, you didn't give in then.

Did you consult Colin before you drug him and the others to the furniture store to get new beds, despite the fact that the child was in obvious pain?

It's amazing that the decision-making process in this family is one of convenience. I can hear Kate now, "If you don't say you want to continue with the show, you might not have a Mommy anymore."

Basically, if we can get the word out, the website can do the rest.

there are so many opportunities for us to repay evil with evil but we refuse. And it hasn't been easy to keep our mouths shut, but it's what God is asking us to do. Continue to overcome evil with good. Things like love, prayers, and kindness instead of retaliation and exposure. Really, evil? You know if I hadn't already looked on the web to figure out why this family was so odd those comments would make look for what evil they are talking about. So it's evil to tell parents to not exploit their children? Wow. I think it's pretty evil to disregard what is good for your children so you can have material goods. I think it's evil to treat people who have gone out of their way to offer you their time, money and you snub them and once Figure 8 pumps your accounts full of money you cancel on the churches that were stealing from their congregations rainy days funds to give you love offerings. Every day they prove more and more that the love of money is indeed the root of all evil.
And I have to LOL at Katie Irene there claiming she cooks without using recipes. Either she cooks from cans and jars or makes such simple meals that a 4 year old can make them. Otherwise unless you've made the same meal over and over and have it memorized better pull out the recipe file and make the food palatable. I guess it's a good thing they have a kraft food chef to give them meals for the majority of the week else it would be spaghetti and meat loaf 7 days a week.

Wow - I had no idea any of this had been going on! I stumbled across the blog sites when I did a web search to find out what kind of purse Jon bought Kate for Valentine's Day, and where Kate got that necklace with the twins pictures done. I had always wondered how, if they were truly on such a tight budget, Kate could get her hair and nails done, go to the spa regularly (I think one episode she claimed it made her a better mother?), the kids are always wearing clothes from the GAP, they go on those elaborate "vacations" (how much does it cost to rent houses for weeks at a time?)... Then I found that the purse was by Chanel. Really? When she said she spent just a few dollars on the kids gifts.

Anyway, I just happened to look at their "old" website the other day. What complete damage control. I still have to take a look at the thumbtacks on the "new" sites pictures... if PR hasn't already modified that as well.

I used to love this show - just having given birth to my new baby boy in June - I made my husband watch it with me to get an idea of what we were in for... Wow, was I mistaken. My husband always said Kate was crazy. Now I can't help but shake my head.

Lonnyswife said...

I too had posted earlier in another section and don't see it here so will try again. Before I begin, they have already been 'ignoring what people say about them' because the misspelling of 'cooking' as in "On the other days, I am in my kitchen cooking…where I most love to be!" has been corrected. Originally it said 'coking'.

Of the site the things I noticed:
Q-I heard you have a book coming out and how in the world did you have time to write a book?
A-"We started writing after so many people said “you should write a book”!
Not a word about Beth's help.

Q-How do you deal with the negative things said about you or the show?
A-"Any flack we receive is just typical stuff that anyone on TV on a regular basis receives."
IMO-Anyone on tv?? You mean actors or talk show hosts, people whose job it is to be on tv? I would be hard pressed to name someone on television who gets the amount of 'flack' the two of you do! Maybe a political candidate but then that probably isn't the same.

Q- What advice do you have for new parents as we’re having a baby in 6 weeks and our family is far away?
A-"Well, first of all, we have never had one baby…so it’s hard for me to give advice."
Baby advice is pretty much the same, for 6 at a time or one! You don't have any bathing tips? Bedtime tips? Feeding tips? Is that because Jon does most of those things?

Oh-and the 'Previous Page' button doesn't word, instead opening a new Internet Explorer page which says "IE cannot open the webpage".
You have to use your back button.

Didn't anyone spell-check or at least proofread the work? Many mispelled words. Still, after the one correction I noticed.

On Our Favorite Things page I did learn that the Sound of Music (now that IS an inspirational movie!)..."is MY favoritest movie ever". I think I just threw up alittle bit in my mouth. Is that Jon's favoritest or Kate's favoritest?
Other posters noticed correctly that pages dealing with Laughter and the kids were "under construction". But by golly, they got right in there and got the
"Damage Control", I mean, Q&A done.
At the bottom of the page is the tag about who did the site design. A company out of CA called 3p, who states on their website:
we are not simply a vendor, rather trusted advisor to our clients at an executive level. To find out how 3p can help your business, please give us a call.
(they didn't capitalize the 'W' at the beginning of the "we" sentence so I didn't either. Maybe it has somthing to do with not noticing all the misspellings and incorrect grammer on the G's page?)
So I wonder exactly what Jon's 'job' is because he didn't create the website. Someone hired a firm in CA to do it. If Jon is still claiming he is working as an IT Analyst from home it must be that he is surfing the internet analyzing what people are saying about them.
I can't be bothered with going through their entire site. It has as much relavance in my life as their program, IMO.
The money they are donating ( a portion?? Big Deal!) could be generated from the button for Amazon, next to the book.I didn't go thru the entire site but that is the only thing I can see that has any $$ generating capability. If someone clicks on it to get to Amazon, it is tracked by Amazon. And that generates the revenue.
And,can I just say one more thing? Kate saying her favorite place in the world was in the kitchen cooking? I know people who came from much larger families than the Gs. The mothers spent as little time as possible in the kitchen. Almost all of these 'from large family' people I know said they never in their lives had fried food until they spent time at friends houses or were out on their own. Their mom didn't waste precious family time frying chicken or pork chops for 9-13 kids. There was alot of crockpot cooking, yes, more than one crockpot to feed these guys, and things like spaghetti and lasagna. With some extra free time the moms read to the kids, crawled on the floor and played legos, made forts out of sheets and clothespins. Basically interacted with the children, which seems to be a totally foreign concept with Kate.
I say, Thank You for NOT giving those unsuspecting moms-to-be any of your advice. We don't need anymore Stepford Moms.

Here's where it gets interesting. Apparently the ill children have just gone to China for stem cell therapy.

To me that is evidence that this story and site were planted by the PR firm. Arent JOn and Kate so vehemently AGAINST harming embryos? Is that not the reason they felt compelled to speak at the churches and share their story??

Why would they give publicity to a family that is pro stem cells (btw I am pro stem cell research and therapy, I am just amazed that Jon and Kate would adviocate them, in this direct manner)

They portray themselves as conservative Christians who are "pro life". Or was it all a money making ploy?

Their site now raises more questions than it answers.

The type of stem cells that Hailey is getting are Neural stem cells… not embryonic. These cells are more developed and much better and safer to use. There is NO risk of these cells forming tumors (as I’ve noticed people posting about on other sites). Just wanted to clarify and apologize, as I was misinformed."

What did Kate say about evil?

Anonymous said...

"Right now, there are so many opportunities for us to repay evil with evil but we refuse."

...Right, because having your children work at four and seven years old to maintain your cushy lifestyle isn't evil.

I am praying so hard for the kids.

"Just wanted to clarify and apologize, as I was misinformed."

Kate said this? Kate Gosselin?

Open Eyes said...

Boy... what a radical change to the ho-hum webpage that they started with. I guess that including all the freebies, a new house, and hand over fist money, the Gosselins also need a new website to go along with it. But wait! They are just regular people! I forgot....

Just a few comments, as I'm sure they will be very similar to others.

One of the questions is about how J+K feel about all the negative things that are said. The answer is that they don't pay attention to them.....riiiight.... if they REALLY didn't care about those things then they wouldn't make backhanded comments about the "evil" people that they are trying to ignore. Mmhmm... yup- makes perfect sense. o_O

From the way that the answers read, I would say that they are more from Kate then from Jon. What scares me about that is that Kate seems to blame or praise God for everything. The people that aren't in their lives... well God took them out of their lives for a reason. All the things they have? "Oh we are so thankful to God!" Now... I am not really religious and it is not the reference to God that bothers me- however- what does bother me is the fact that she takes no responsibility for her actions. This just furthers my thinking that Kate is really never going to wake up and see what she is doing, and that there is a much deep psychological problem stewing. My mother (who is bipolar) is much the same way. Thinking that God is the reason that people don't talk to one another. Um... so you are telling me that people don't affect that...at all?

Oh yes- and if they were truly taking the "high road" in things, then the issue of "evil people" would not be mentioned or addressed at all. In my opinion, they are just making themselves look worse by NOT addressing the very obvious problems.

Just my two sense on things this week! =)

Court said...

Anyone notice in her answer about the private chef that she referred to them as the "cast"? It's disturbing to me. Jon couldn't talk about their life in terms of "seasons" but she can refer to herself and the family as the "cast".

Anonymous said...

I always wondered what it was that Kate actually did to contribute to her family each day as slowly but surely all the jobs seemed to be delegated to Jon, i.e. he gets them breakfasts, twins off to school, he dusts, he gives them baths, puts them in bed, drives them everywhere, gets the gas, takes out the trash, gets Kate her coffee, gets up at night if one is crying, dresses the kids.. well Jon did just about everything except for laundry and cooking. So I thought OK Kate is so tired because she is always cooking (based don what she said on tv, and also admittedly getting help with the majority of the laundry and ironing). So now we know that at least 3 days a week, she receives organic catered meals for her family (the food for craft services can be really good, including the crabcakes). And you know they will have leftovers for the other days, so the fact of the matter is that Kate is a big fat liar, and she probably cooks for her family far less than most mothers out there. It makes me sick that they literally hide the craft service table from the filming but we do see these vases of flowers from time to time.

What is it that Kate does? Jon apparently runs or ran the website. Is Kate exhaussted from negotiating contracts?

The new website makes me sick - there are so many things wrong with it - such as how they flock to older parents.. like who? doesn't that leave out Beth, Jodie, and Carla? Do you think she means Nanny Janet or Joan? Does anybody think or know if she at least has been able to keep Janet and Joanie in her life?

and her statement about the show being their life and them being confused about others not being able to understand... is just about as cryptic as they come.

Kate doesn't address half the stuff that has viewers in an uproar, such as her horrible mistreatment of her husband and how she does this repeatedly and in front of the kids..

And it is interesting that she takes this view of hahaha, i am so funny and witty and yes I am the paid chef and I don't have any time to pay attention to what is just flack. WELL I HATE TO TELL YOU KATE, BUT CLOSE TO 600,000 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN VIEWING THE WEBSITE THAT IS CLEARLY EXPRESSING A UNIFIRED POINT OF VIEW THAT WHAT YOU ARE DOING WITH YOUR CHILDREN JUST ISN'T RIGHT!!

And truly - if they paid big bucks to some pr firm to try to pull them out of this pickle, the money was not well spent.

How can Jon stil be begging for college funds at the twins event just a month or so ago, and now they are donating to charities.

I am beginning to believe that Kate and Jon have made millions at this point and they are clearly on the BIG HUGE Money train. If they are able to give to charity now, why are they demanding $25K for speaking engagements? Will they donate half of that to charity?

These people, Jon and Kate, are simply disgusting.

Silly Anon! of COURSE Kate Gosselin did no such thing! Hahaha. That other poster had us going, didn't she/he? I read that myself and nearly fell over.

It was actually a comment from the mother of one of the ill children (Hailey), saying her daughter would not be receiving "embryonic stem cells". She had mentioned earlier in an article that these were the kind of cells that would be used, and, I guess, she was "misinformed".

What bothers me most about the site is that they have listed in their play list "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.

-----

Ha ha! I know right? That version of the song first became familiar to me about 10 years ago and I've loved it ever since and it has played an important part of my personal times in life...it also brings back many fond memories of my time spend on Oahu in 2006. They cannot ruin that song!

I too also noticed that Cara has her arms folded across her in the Hawaii photo of the children on the site...I feel so bad for Mady and Cara...what a horrible photo to have out there for public consumption.

Also, did anyone else notice that in Kate's "about us" description, all the positive things she says about the children are like 99% physical attributes? Um...what about talking about their sparkling personalities???

unlike Jon (ohh honey, I am so sorry, but I just have to say this) I am told by my hairdresser that I ill never go bald!! Yeah!!

How the hell does her hairdresser know this? My sister had alopecia and was teased all throughout her school years. It took many trips to the dermatologist to get a diagnosis, granted it was many years ago. It is a very sensitive subject and she is an a hole for making light of it.

Did anyone else notice that she changed the story about how they got pregnant? If I remember correctly, the first story was that the doctor was cautious about proceeding with the cycle, but they chose to anyway...and now all of a sudden it's "There were three maybe four and we had no clue". How do you only have three maybe four follicles and then end up overstimulated to the point of hospitilization? Hmmmm...

It's awfully funny that EVERY SINGLE THING that we've discussed on this blog has been addressed on their site.

It's also a very sad commentary that she has stated numerous times that she would not do it all over again, and if she could go back she wouldnt have done it. Those kids mean nothing to her. I cannot fathom ever stating for the whole world that I regret the decisions that led me to my child...I wonder which ones she would choose to not have had? Im sure she wishes she had just had Leah and the rest had never been concieved. So sad.

What tools.

I am by no means preaching, but since they throw God's name around...God says:
"No one can serve two masters, because either he will hate one and love the other, or be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and riches!"(Matthew 6:24) Did she not just say "Our job is our life"? The way Ive been raised is a Christian is to believe that my life is to be a servant to others and to God. Not to Figure8 productions or whatever makes me the most money. (Im by no means knocking wealth...I believe that wealth can be just as much a blessing from God as anything else...) There are plenty of people who are incredibly wealthy and do not have to sell their privacy and their children's childhood under the guise of "serving God."

Oh my goodness, did I ever notice that! I also noticed how she called Leah the most beautiful baby ever. Did anyone else feel disgust when reading this? Even if she thought this, admitting this for the world to see is cruel and thoughtless. Imagine how the other 7 would feel if they read this? Yet another example of her blatant favoritism.
That woman truly doesn't have a clue about parenting.

I can't believe any PR firm would approve this website for their clients. It's filled with grammatical errors. In the Q&A section, the questions run into the answer section, it looks like it was put together in a hurried fashion and those questions were answered in a fashion that doesn't represent a blessed and appreciative family, in my opinion.

Oh and I love how the most pressing question of this show, "WHERE IS AUNT JODI" hasn't been answered.

Paula said...

Did Kate also ask the tups if they still wanted to wear bibs and drink out of sippy cups even though they are 4+ years of age?

Anonymous said...

Yes, about them having the food brought in three times per week.
1. I'll bet there are sometimes leftovers for the next day.
2. That only leaves 4 other days to prepare meals...which could be easy foods, like grilled cheese, etc...because their catered food is SO plentiful and well-rounded with lots of different choices.
3. Out of the 4 non-delivery days...they are GONE quite often.
That really narrows it down to cooking "occasionally", doesn't it?
Organically, of course.

I, too, am confused by this:
We will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the website to families in need and charity organizations.

I make a small amount of money each month from my website (blog) but only because of the Google contextual ads I've placed on my site and also through being directly paid by businesses to advertise on my site. I don't understand how the Gosselin website as it is now (without advertising or donation request buttons) can generate any kind of proceeds for charities.

Is there something I'm missing?

If the "cast" of the show needs craft services to cook for them, how it that any longer a reality show? If it were reality, she would be cooking for her children whether the cameras were rolling or not.

Do they answer anywhere on the site why the site is SIXgosselins?

We see every week that the kids have no voice in decision making, i.e. the twins have no say in whether or not they participate in activities geared toward the tups, and the 4 year olds have no say in what uncomfortable footwear they wear or hair styles that are actually painful, etc. etc. but Kate is quick to let us know on the new website that they are in on the decision to continue doing the show.

It is interesting that J & K claim that they 'turn the other cheek' and dont pay attention to the negative but feel the need to create an entirely new website that clearly responds to the negativity and criticisms surrounding their life and reality tv show. Typical J & K , the spin cycle is on maximum over drive!

Well sure it is benefiting many people! The producers, the crew, Figure 8 films. The sponsers etc...lots and lots of people are benefiting monetarily.

Great. If they adopt they can rename the show Jon & Swine and The Working Nine.

I also was tinking today of how the children are not given simple choices...at least when we see them on camera. I know that kids can be insistent on certain things. That's where you offer, say, 2 outfits for the morning, and ask them to choose. It gives them a feeling that they CAN control something in their lives. I'm willing to bet that Kate is so domineering and unusually controlling because she did not have anything she could control when growing up.
That being said...she may very well bring up a brood of kids who become controling tyrants, because they were tightly controlled while growing up at home. Once they leave the nest, they might must follow in her footsteps with their families, co-workers, etc...

well, as an adoptive mother, I would love to meet the social worker who would approve them to adopt. I can't even begin to tell you the microscope you are put under to adopt internationally. I just re~watched part of last weeks episode and paid attention to how they are treating the tups like babies. I just spent some time with my nephews who are 2,3 and 4. The only one with a sippy cup is the 2year old, he has a bib sometimes but not always. The three year old is fully potty trained and only uses the toilet with a little stool in front of it. The 4 year old is dresses himself, puts his own shoes on and now he even spikes his hair with gel so he looks like daddy. Each of my nephews were born early, between 33-34 weeks.

I never see J $ K telling her kids that they "can do it" or "what a big boy/girl". They are never given a chance to do anything, they are just treated like Obabies. The bibs on the tups during dinner were to much, and they look silly in them because they are so big now. I just keep thinking how these kids are going to be teased if and when they are finally in school. Maybe Kate is ok with negative attention being thrown her way...but something tells me that the precious tups aren't going to have her thick skin. I feel most sorry for the boys, PLEASE take the bibs off, throw the damn potties in the trash and start treating them like the big boys they are!

I don't get the connection of Kate saying, "unless God has other plans" to jump right to the adoption factor. IMO its probably her way of saying if another preganancy came along via her womb naturally, unassisted, it was God's plan. And can you imagine the rating boost??

Based on Gosselins family and others in the know that I've read here and news articles at the time, Kate realized the windfall and attention SHE got with the twins, only then did she realize what it would mean to have more multiples. IMO, in Kate's life, its all about HER. Another baby would be the cherry on top in her charmed little life.

I just had to comment on the Hailey and Carter G.'s story - they are from my area and I can tell you that this family is absolutely grateful for ANY help that they can get! Anonymous at 8:05 am on 08/31/08 hit the nail on the head - it is so sad and pathetic that a family with 8 HEALTHY kids cannot be happy with upwards of $25K per speaking engagement, whereas a family with 2 seriously (and in most cases with Batten's disease, fatally) ill kids are happy with whatever the community can contribute. And we're a very giving community - we have the largest local telethon/children's charity in the nation.

But don't tell Kon, they'll try to ask for a grant from said charity.

ThreeFarmers said...

I think the mountain that the Gosselins have to climb is that, really, none of us will be happy as long as those children are continually put on television day after day. No matter who the Gosselins thank, no matter how much they donate to charity, no matter how much they acknowledge Aunt Jodie, they will always be targets for severe criticism as long as those children continue to be exploited for profit.

They like to act like it's a family business, but there would be no business without the kids, therefore, it's the children from whom they are profiting.

Regarding the stupid comment about the hairdresser telling Kate that she would never go bald? You'd better knock on wood Kate Gosselin, there are other ways besides hereditary baldness that can cause a woman to lose her hair. Take a nice trip to the oncology ward at that hospital you used to work at, then tell the camera how you'll never go bald. At the school where I work, there is a sophomore girl who wears a scarf around her head everyday because of her alopecia. Another struggles with trichotillomania, fighting the constant urge to pull her hair out.

You, Jon & Kate, are ungratefully looking a gift horse right in the mouth and that will only spell trouble for your family in the future. Gratefulness is manifested through actions. You should fully acknowledge the people who have helped you along the way... all of them. You should keep your promise to give back to those in need...that doesn't mean donating a portion of the proceeds (hand outs) from your website. You can't get any more hands off than that! The next time a well-meaning fan offers you cash, put your hand in your pocket and tell them that you have plenty and to give that money to someone in need. Finally, end your program. Your children deserve the right to develop into the people they were meant to be without the prying eyes of the camera and the critical eyes of the public. If you continue this farce, you will drive your children away from you as they grow older. You are making life more difficult for yourselves in the long run.

You can talk about God all you like, but talk means nothing. No matter how many devotions you put on that stupid air-whipped website, it doesn't mean anything unless you have the proper motivation and plan of action to back it up. Isn't there something about acting with a pure heart? You need to find one in that big money-basket that you call a life, and get going!

I suppose I'm just another example of the EVIL you are replacing with GOOD. Everything I wrote about giving proper thanks, giving back to the community, and protecting your children from the public, is all EVIL to you. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Right now, there are so many opportunities for us to repay evil with evil but we refuse.

Unsurprising--since when have Kon been known to pay for anything?

I find it funny that we're at the point of saying, "I'd never put a thumbtack through a picture of my kid" because so quickly it's become, if not okay, at least not glaringly wrong to have these pictures up online at all. It's so beyond that now. They sell pictures of their children--why? What kind of weirdo needs pictures of somebody else's family, much less SIGNED pictures ("Well, Mary, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but what you have here is a forgery, because the show is sponsored by Sharpie and this ink is clearly from a Bic.")? And what kind of wholly unaware multiples-Pez dispenser sets up pages for "things you don't know" about their kids? Since you've shown them doing everything but socializing, I'm guessing it's not much. What, have we missed an X-ray or upper GI series somewhere?

So, the new website is promising to give part of the proceeds to charity -- and their charity of choice -- Pediatric Cancer Research. It's a crying shame that they chose to sell their stupid lame photos at the Boston Mothers of Twins Convention when the philanthropic cause of the week was The JIMMY FUND! What for? You guessed it. Pediatric Cancer victims. Instead of letting people take your photo for a donation to the Jimmy Fund, Jon claimed POOR college fund need.

Jon or your PR firm, these actions are despicable. You already treated everyone at NOMOTC like crap before you even showed up -- demanding first-class airfare, trying to cancel AFTER our registration publicity went out, etc.

Do you know that NOMOTC is a nearly totally VOLUNTEER organization and that 90% of the delegates pay their own way? Because they believe in helping other Mothers of Twins. Jon and Kate only believe in SCREWING them.

You owe NOMOTC an apology for your actions and you owe the Jimmy Fund a donation equal to the amount of cash you took home in your pocket.

I have wondered about this, too. No friends from high school, nursing school, former jobs, etc.? Maybe Kate's former classmates and co-workers were on to her years ago. As to people from Jon's past, they probably thought he a pleasant and low-key enough guy but without a lot of gray matter and balls. I am surprised that none of these people are coming forward. Oh and STOP dressign Mady and Cara alike, unless it's their choice to dress alike. I would like to see them develop their individual style! Get Justice to sponsor the twins! LOL. Even the tups, let them start picking out their own clothes, they do not need to match at every outing! Well, I don't find it so hard to believe they were too self absorbed to have friends and if anyone one dated them it most likely was just a quick one time deal that they found excuses to never have a second one. I can't imagine wanting to date a lazy lump like Jon or a harping baby voiced shrew like Kate. I guess it's a good thing they found each other cause otherwise Jon would still be sponging off his mom and lord knows Kate would be terrorizing a house full of cats. I think the PR firm let Jon and Kate loose on a web site template and regretted it. I cannot believe what clueless dimwits they are. They have absolutely no insight or common sense.

I did get there in time to see that they were going to post "fun facts" about their children. What parents in their right minds post fun facts about their children on the internet? No wonder they think they need bodyguards. I loved Paul Peterson's comment that they have put targets on their kids' foreheads.

It is truly heartbreaking that they don't see what they are doing to their children.

I have no problem with someone's beliefs or thanking God for blessings, but pimping out your kids for material wealth IS NOT a blessing, IMO.God had blessed J&K with 8 healthy children and with people who have helped them through the hard times. How did they repay God's blessings? Cutting off friends and family who did not agree with their method of earning a living through their kids? Thinking that because God has blessed them with sextuplets and twins that the world owes them a (luxurious) living? I just don't think they (J&K) get it.

Really, as an above commenter said, it doesn't matter what J&K do if they still have their kids on TV every week exposing their most private moments-- THAT is the evil. I really could give a rat's tush what their website says or looks like if they continue to sell their kid's childhoods for the almighty dollar.
Do the right thing, J&K. Because it's right. Do not prosper by taking from someone else (robbing your kids of a normal childhood)>

Website is still down. Do you guys really think they are reading this blog and that it is causing them to revamp their website? Because I do. Nothing else makes sense. Wonder if it will even come back up or if it's down for good.

I find it very tellings that Jon and Kate's section of the website is done while the kid's are all "under construction". According to J+K, the show is supposed to be about the kids and growing up.... J+K just don't get it. The show is NOT supposed to be about them! What greedy people!

6:44pm Central, and the site is now back up.
I glanced around and I don't think they changed a thing. Guess we can't even give them credit for trying to do damage control to the damage control.

Website came up and I was able to read through about 5 of the Q&A before it went down again. Strange. I continue to believe they or some on staff reads this blog. They are just touching on too many of the issues discussed here. But a question I have is WHO MADE UP THESE QUESTIONS? Such as "Your show means so much to us and is really inspiring"? Someone get me a bucket, I think I'm gonna barf! Are you serious? Inspiring? Someone is watching a different show than I am.

"I guess it's a good thing they found each other cause otherwise Jon would still be sponging off his mom and lord knows Kate would be terrorizing a house full of cats."

Love it!! COTW? I'll vote for it!

The new web site may be down for further damage control but there is a new thread now up to discuss them based out of their home town Topix sight.

http://www.topix.com/forum/city/elizabethtown-pa/TFG7FIEFAH0UNEM9E

I would love for people who know them or have had an encounter with them to tell more. What is Kate like when you run into her at the grocery store? The bank? The post office?

GWOP has hit a nerve with many people, obviously. Over half a million hits. Several of us can smell a rat.

I think the pic's on the opening page are different from yesterday, the family ones, not the one's along the top.

I read Anon's post about Jon's behavior in Boston...I don't know why I'm shocked by it, but I am. What a great opportunity for these two blood suckers to give back SOMETHING, even if it was an airbrushed mugshoot of those 2 clowns.

As I watch the news tonight and see the approaching hurricane in the Gulf, and I think of how my parents are worried they can't afford heat this winter I wonder what J $ K worry about. They have all of their needs met b/c of the kindness of others, yet a simple donation to the Jimmy Fund was apparently to much to ask of them. Shame, shame, shame.

If any of our friends in this group here are in harm's way b/c of the approaching hurricane, please know you are in my prayers....Kristee

What traditions do you do every year?

We have a lot of traditions…there are almost too many to list anymore. I like traditions. It’s a way to reflect on the years past as well as project what the years ahead may hold. And it’s fun to see the changes that occur in our family from year to year!

Funny thing is that the traditions that they had a year ago on TV for the world to view are no longer traditions this year, and they have new traditions this year on TV. I grew up thinking that tradition was you spent time doing the same thing over from year to year, such as Christmas, 4th of July, Memorial Day, being with family/friends on certain days etc. Hmmm maybe Ive had it all wrong all these years. It will be intersting to see where they have their traditional fall picture taken, last year it was at Beth and Bob's. Where will they go Xmas caroling this year, Maybe to Jens house? Maybe they will be too busy with book signing to celebrate any traditions this fall and winter.

As far as tomorrows episode I cant wait to see how or if Kate makes it as if the hospital is celebrating her amazing uterus. My 1st child was born at 2.7 lbs and spent time in the NICU, let me tell you that when he has 4y.o. he never questioned where he came from.... The hospital did invite my family to a picnic reunion every year, along with every other baby that spent time atthe NICU at Childrens Hospital-Oakland, CA.

I absolutly hate wasting my time watching this show, but for some reason I feel the need to watch the train wreck every week just to see how far she pushes it this week.

I absolutly love this blog.

Well, it's definately an improvement to see that they are no longer claiming that there aren't college funds!

Every time I thought about them writing that, I thought to myself- here you are, taking trips to California, Florida, Utah, North Carolina, Hawaii, etc. etc., wearing brand name clothing, eating expensive organic foods, getting cosmetic alterations (I could go on and on), and all the meanwhile, you say there are no college funds?!! Why in the world would you get your teeth whitened instead of putting that money into college funds? Well I suppose if you keep your kids 2 years old FOREVER, you don't have to worry about them going off to college.

Picture this: if they really are making $25,000 per speaking engagement, all they would have to do is use the income from ONE appearance each year, split it by 8 kids ($3,125 per child), and in 10 years, when the twins graduate from high school, each child would have $31,250. That's a big chunk of change, and waaayyyy more than my college education required.

It wouldn't even take ten years. Since the network and film company take care of everything for them, they could use the income from all the speaking engagements this year, stick it in an account and BAM! You have your kids' college educations funded before they even hit middle school.

If indeed they don't have ANY money in ANY accounts for that purpose, then they should feel deeply ashamed that they wallow in luxury while their kids have an uncertain future.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe I'm wrong, but the first time I looked at it, the only family pic I saw on the home page was the 4th of July one. When I went back just now, I was surprised to see the Hawaii ones. I thought they would save those for once the show aired.

gj said....I just saw their new website and I think it's a HUGE improvement from the last one.

Thanks for your opinion on your new website, g(osselin)j(on)! Glad you like it :-)

I just looked at the new site after it had been down. Am I missing something or did KON remove that line, "Our show is our life and our life is our show?" Or am I just totally confused? Let me know. Thanks.

If they film 3-4 days a week she cooks 3 or 4 nights a week.

Cooking for 10 people even only 3-4 days a week would still be work.

If she's making Breakfast and lunch as well...then she's making quite a few meals per week.
-------------
Yeah it's so totally exhausting to pour 10 bowls of cereal every morning that I had to go and take a nap just thinking about it.
----------
Let's not forget they are gone half the weekends in a month. So there really aren't too terribly many meals she has to cook. I know it's nitpicky, but for all the talk of cooking she does on the show, even if it is just "craft" services and not a personal chef (although how many organic craft tables are there? I mostly hear it's donuts and unhealthy stuff) there still aren't that many other days she would be home to cook.

"They mentioned that the private chef was infact a craft service which ALL shows get so I guess I'll give them that."

I'm sorry, but I think that is a VERY weak excuse that they are using. Craft service is for scripted television shows. Here is an excerpt from a website that better describes what a craft service table is:
"Full meals are not usually provided on set as there are often many restaurants in the area and studios have at least a coffee shop..." "Craft service items vary widely depending on the production firm's budget. Most craft service tables include a mixture of 'junk' food such as chips and doughnuts as well as sandwiches, fruit or vegetable platters, cheeses, muffins, and pretzels or microwave popcorn. Usually hot water is available to prepare instant soup and hot chocolate mixes as well as tea. Most craft service areas include urns of coffee as well as sodas and juices. Breakfast craft service offerings usually include fare such as bagels, toast, muffins, cereal, peanut butter and jelly, juices, and coffee."

Full organic meals are not common at all. It is just a word game they are playing (again).

"Am I missing something or did KON remove that line, "Our show is our life and our life is our show?" Or am I just totally confused? Let me know. Thanks."

It is still up. You can view it on the last page of the Q&A section when asked about family members not being seen.

To answer your question it is still there. Under the question about where is the family.

I would bet that one of the first things to be removed from the new website will be the statement
"Our life is the show and the show is our life." That statement makes me nauseous.

Nope, it's still there. I didn't see any change. Possibly it went down due to amount of traffic trying to view.

Anonymous said...

you know, now that I thought about the whole "craft services" thing for a while. have you noticed how the kids are mostly served "snack food" for lunch, grapes, tortilla chips & salsa, etc. Kate's not even fixing her kids lunch, shes just grabbing it off the food service table. how pathetic. Id rather fix my kids a regular hot dog and mac and cheese than feed them grapes and tortilla chips and salsa for lunch anyday of the week.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous 7:03pm is absolutely right. Kate damns herself with her own words.

And those kids are old enough now to fix themselves some lunch. Put out bread, meat, and cheese, along with pieces of fruit, and everyone makes their own sandwich and takes a piece of fruit, sits down, and eats. AND NO BIBS OR SIPPY CUPS!

It appears that they did no damage control whatsoever while the web site was down.

If the PR firm was trying to get them to shape up and fly right, I guess the PR firm lost. Since, officially, Jon and Kate hired the PR firm, I guess it is only logical that they overruled the PR people.

I'll bet there was a lot of back-and-forth screaming. I wonder if they are now searching for a new PR firm.
